MISSING THE NEWS

One of the things that strikes me about the BBC coverage of the Egyptian unrest is its reluctance to report the sheer savagery of the Muslim Brotherhood supporters or “Pro Morsi” to use the BBC preferred euphemism. When it comes to appalling videos like this and threatening incidents like this, the world class BBC journalists seem to have fallen asleep.  Their entire meme has been thrown into chaos and they seem to struggle to keep up with the story. Perhaps images like this unsettle them – on the wrong side of history yet again, BBC?

The BBC has stopped functioning as an independent if biased news gatherer in Egypt. Her local staff (by all appearance Morsi supporters) without whom the office stops functioning direct the coverage. If it wasn’t the fig leaf of an English talking head the BBC would have nothing to do.

    Eyeless in Egypt.

Given that there are many Beeboids in Egypt (and environs), the results in terms of journalistic output are reprehensible, notably:-

1.) a political tendency for INBBC to adopt the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) political line, while not explaining the egregious nature of the MB’s ideology and programme.

It’s as though Beeboids in Cairo have never heard of the daily ‘Global Muslim Brotherhood Report’ –

    http://globalmbreport.org/

It’s as though INBBC’s Cairo Bureau has never heard of the the MB’s historic and threatening ideology and transitional programme contained in the MB ‘Project’:-

    “The Muslim Brotherhood ‘Project'”

    http://archive.frontpagemag.com/readArticle.aspx?ARTID=4476

2.) INBBC’s political inclination to be unconcerned with Muslim persecution of Christian Copts in Egypt.

It is as though the INBBC Cairo Bureau is unaware of this persecution (or is censoring it).

It is necessary to turn to writers such as Raymond Ibrahim to get information on the plight of Christians in Egypt:-

    http://www.raymondibrahim.com/

3.) Not only is Beeboid ‘reporting’ on Egypt politically culpable, in e.g., falling into the euphoric ‘Arab Spring’/’Muslim Brotherhood trap in the Tahrir Square syndrome of 2011, but as David Vance mentions above, even in 2013, the extreme violence of MB is censored by INBBC, in part, it seems for political reasons.

    As asked before:
what do INBBC’s Cairo Bureau, and Arabic TV Service do all day?

The Daily Mail ran with at least one of those stories as well.

Morsi was not a democratically elected President. Democrats dont vote for Islamists.

He had a chance to prove he was democratic by having MB hoods arrested for threatening the lives of Christians, but instead he made Governoer of Luxor a member of a terrorist group that murdered 58 tourists there in 1997.

Thank God Morsi has been overthrown. Let’s pray a democratic government gets elected in Egypt.

If the BBC was democratic it would be reporting these things about the Islamists with due concern.

Let’s hope there’s decisive action to throw out the enemies of democracy that prevail at the BBC as well.

Islam does not allow a separation of religion from the state. Any attempt to separate the two, will be vehemently and violently opposed by devout Muslims in Egypt, and worldwide. The result will be perpetual civil war and massacres, interspersed with ruthless military dictatorships.

Eventually, neither the secularists or the military have the determination and staying power of the believers. Thus there will never be long lasting liberal democratic governments in any Islamic country.

However, if our goal is to destabilize and ruin any Islamic country, so it poses no threat, we can support the formation of such liberal governments. The BBC will love it, though not for reasons a Machiavelli would.

In Egypt the democratic, peaceful and heroic Muslim Brotherhood are being persecuted by the evil fascist army, Tony Blair explains why we should help the government to re-establish democracy

In other news Ed Miliband slaps down Unite in Falkirk and we are joined by Harriet Harman who will tell us that this is an isolated incident and that the other 41 cases are entirely different.

The ‘abuse’ scandals from the 70’s and 80’s, that Bacon is wittering on about at the moment, are sure to keep any news of Labour/Unite’s shenanigans well away from the spotlight, esp if it can be laid at the Tories door.

Pamela Geller, the American freedom-fighter, banned from U.K, who BBC-NUJ shows no support for (unlike ex-Gitmo Binyam Mohamed) has:-

    “PAMELA GELLER: EGYPT WITHOUT ILLUSIONS”

    [Opening excerpt}:-

“Obama’s loyalty to the Brotherhood ought to be the subject of congressional hearings. He thinks they’re the guardians of democracy in Egypt? The mainstream media and Muslim Brotherhood operatives in the U.S. keep claiming that Morsi was democratically elected, and therefore is the legitimate president of Egypt. But there was massive fraud in the election that put Morsi in power. He was no more democratically elected than the Ayatollah Khomeini.

“In fact, the Muslim Brotherhood is made up of Jew-hating Shariah supremacists. Their ‘Palestinian’ wing, Hamas, celebrates attacks on Israeli civilians. Democracy? Obama cited Morsi’s 13 million votes for his unqualified support of these vicious thugs.”

    http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2013/07/pamela-geller-wnd-column-egypt-without-illusions.html

Of course, Pamela Geller criticism of not only the Muslim Brotherhood, but also of Obama is a double ‘whammy’ as far as BBC-NUJ is concerned, re-her denial of entry into U.K.

On the Today programme Last Wednesday (03/07), after the 07:30 news, Quentin Sommerville “spent a night out and about in Cairo”. He visited a café where they were listening to a speech from Muslim Brotherhood backed President Morsi (the Egyptian Army deadline had not yet passed). One of the more interesting comments didn’t seem to be used again on the BBC.

Quentin Sommerville (QS) : “They are listening to President Morsi. And, the mood here is not very receptive.”

Cairo café customer (Ccc) : “We didn’t replace a dictatorship by a fascist religious regime. We want a civil Egyptian country. So, I think he is talking to his supporters. He is not talking to us. He is not talking to the millions who went to the streets two days before.”

(QS) : “What would you say his mood is? Is it defiant? What is he trying to do here?”

(Ccc): “I think he is provoking us.” [huff] “He is making us more angry. He is pushing us to a clash. He is pushing the opposition to a clash. Because, he is not responding to our demands.”

Did anyone hear this (or similar) later on the BBC?

No – but if you attack an army base you have to expect that the soldier will defend it.

Suppose it had been a group of Coptic Christians marching on a MB building in protest at the number of murders, I am sure the MB would have replied with a similar level of force.

      Then again – maybe not.

“‘We aired lies’: Al-Jazeera staff quit over biased Egypt coverage”

Would that some Beeboids would resign from INBBC for the same thing too:-

    [Excerpt]:-

“The Qatari-owned media company Al-Jazeera saw 22 members of its staff in Egypt resign on Monday over what they allege was ‘biased coverage’ of the events that unfolded in Cairo last week.

“Al-Jazeera correspondent Haggag Salama was among those who resigned, accusing the station of ‘airing lies and misleading viewers,’ Gulf News reported Monday.”
