Let’s start with the bBC ‘s expected ‘welcoming’ the proposed whitewash about the rape gang enquiry.

They’ll be all over it like a rash, but with their own immediate issues about rather sordid goings on with a few of their own, there won’t be a lot of belief in their fantasising.

What’s interesting about the BBC Scott Mills sacking is that the events and allegations date back 10 years and yet nothing was known about it publicly. What this shows is the BBC are expert at concealing scandal and there was nobody in the BBC that was prepared to break the silence. What we have is a corrupt and rotten organisation, essentially a self serving club.

That “Didn’t cross my desk” phrase/excuse Smarmer uses is an obvious piece of Lawyer deflection made to conceal the truth without actually lying. He’s right, Savile files etc never crossed his desk, it crossed the desk of someone in the CPS working for him. A quick wander over to his junior, ‘Jimmy? Too special, throw it back.’ He knew alright.

I haven’t been able to find any update on the incident in Derby particularly the identity of the Indian male who was arrested . The police must know his identity by now , probably have since his arrest, and are deliberately withholding it.
I wouldn’t wish to speculate further but this is not the way to engender trust and confidence.

A shortfall on enhanced Stamp Duty for second homes The basic thrust of the video was that if Rayner can get out of it cleanly then her leadership and political prospects will be enhanced. Mind your language edition

Your word of the day is “unilingualism”

One increasingly turns to the in-the-tank-for-Labour Daily Mirror to monitor the work of failing PM Starmer’s new Coms Team.

Got yourself a First Female Chancellor and lashed out cash on public sector payrises and welfare, like a drunken sailor… with no warship to go to?

Turned off the taps on our own oil and gas, to save the planet and hopefully to set a good example to the world… that couldn’t care less?

Blame Trump for your own self-inflicted mess.

    Dire Straits

World pays for Trump lunacy (Mirror) – if that were intended as a pun on the prospective Nasa moon mission – and British taxpayers were actually paying for it, then it’s a passable vaguely amusing subheader.

Meanwhile, the Mirror’s main screamer of the day puts: Unhinged Donald Trump up as their aunt sally target and yells: This is oil your fault – are they taking the Mick, complain the Oirish?

An Irish accent is generally melodic, rhotic (pronouncing ‘r’ sounds), and known for tightening vowel sounds, such as turning “time” into “toime.” – thank you, A. Oi.

These days one needs to be super careful about peoples’ sensitivies over their quirks of language…

    Rousseauan politics

How English-only condolences undid one of Canada’s top CEOs… Michael Rousseau’s departure comes after he received heavy criticism in the aftermath of the incident, which killed two of the airline’s pilots.

But the backlash was not due to the collision itself. Rather, it was sparked by Rousseau’s condolences to the pilots, which were delivered almost entirely in English.

Prime Minister Mark Carney said the video message showed “a lack of compassion” (Nadine Yousif, Senior Canada reporter, BBC)

Nevermind airline safety, the top priority is obviously “compassion”

There’s a bit of doublethink going on here at the BBC. You know how under multicultural rules in Britain the host native national language (English) is treated as rather optional. Unilingualism in a non-English foreign tongue is apparently no bar to claiming welfare or voting in elections – if multilingual official forms and in particular recent Green party election messaging are anything to go by.

Rousseau’s rise to CEO was also contentious, as he spoke only English despite having lived in Montreal for years.

Shortly after taking on the role in 2021, his unilingualism made headlines when he struggled to answer a reporter’s question in French.

“How can you live in Montreal without speaking French? Is it easy?” the reporter had asked, first in French and then in English. (BBC)

How can you live in Leicester (par exemple) and not speak English? Is it easy?

Based on 2021 Census data, there are 34 neighbourhoods in Leicester where at least one-fifth of the population cannot speak English well or at all. – thank you A.I.

And that was half a decade ago. Pre Boris Wave.

“I giggled for the first time at Ranganathan and Frankie Boyle when their dire shows were binned by the BBC; as Patrick West wrote here at the time: ‘Satire should lampoon those who rule. Except BBC satire has for years shirked this duty.
It no longer challenges the establishment – in academia, the civil service, the unelected House of Lords, the BBC itself. It’s instead been a staple of BBC satire to punch down, to mock and deride the conservative, middle-class, Brexit-inclined middle-Englander.
Audiences have themselves become bored of the BBC’s repetitious, relentless belittling of ordinary Britons at the behest of a smug, self-satisfied elite.’

Donald Trump is a “very unconventional president,” the Business Secretary has said.

Asked about the US President hitting out at allies yesterday, Peter Kyle told Sky News: “We have a very unconventional president, he uses the bully pulpit on social media very effectively. He dominates a lot of debate. Let’s just see what actually happens.”

He added: “We do hear a lot of rhetoric from the President on social media.

“He uses rhetoric to destabilise; he uses rhetoric in order to keep people on their toes. We are very much in touch with the American administration.”

    Labour MP drives dangerously off-message

Catherine Atkinson, Labour MP for Derby North, arrived at the scene and told the BBC: “Like many I remain really shocked. You don’t expect this to happen in our city…” She said she would be raising the subject of cars being driven at people in Parliament. “I am concerned and I will be raising this with government,” she said. “We need to see if guidelines will be reviewed because we are seeing an increased amount of incidents where cars are being used as weapons.” (BBC, 29 March 2026)

However… couple of days later and the regime has got all its ducks in a row and this is now to be regarded as an isolated incident – there’s apparently no on-going risk whatsoever. So we won’t be needing those guidelines reviewed afterall?

Claire Ward, mayor of the East Midlands, had called for local communities and agencies to do “all we can” to support people affected. “This is a serious but isolated incident.”… Police previously said the incident was not being treated as terrorism and there was no ongoing risk to the public. (BBC, 31 March 2026)

I know Clapham well. I lived close by for years, worked there for three decades and still have friends there. It’s sad to witness these third worlders marauding through these familiar streets.

One thing that is so very noticeable is how the perpetrators are described; it’s always “Youths”. It’s now such a familiar euphemism that whenever I hear it I know immediately who is involved.

I regularly used to drive through Clapham, and rather enjoyed the view on the Common, (pre-Labour blokes with trousers down etc), as it was well onto my way home in Kent of an evening. The regulars at the fabulous ‘Windmill Pub’ saw me sitting with two other cricket teams after a local game, and me with six gorgeous pints of Youngs in front of me – not at the same time, but pretty near… (I lived in Fulham Road then – no car).

Muslim apologists are coming out of the woodwork to deny that Islam hates dogs.
This is a lie, or taqiya. They will say anything to defend their evil death cult.

In Sahih Muslim it’s written: Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) ordered us to kill dogs, and we carried out this order so much so that we also kill the dog coming with a woman from the desert. He (the Prophet) said: It is your duty to kill the jet-black (dog) having two spots (on the eyes), for it is a devil.

Yes, the deranged medieval warlord and caravan robber held the superstitious belief that black dogs were devils or demon possessed, and should be killed.

(Later the paedophile Prophet rescinded that commandment but only after shepherds and hunters complained that they needed dogs for their livelihood. So working dogs became permissible, but not pets – in other words 99% of dogs in Britain.)

      1) She protects me from intruders.
      2) She tells me when someone is many yards away, just in case they are here for nefarious purposes.
      3) She seems to hate foreigners for some reason, possibly because she is a Romanian Rescue, and was delighted to be able to get out.
      4) She is a loving friend, who works very hard on stopping pikeys nicking stuff, aggressive foreign stabbers, unwanted but still visiting cheats ‘fresh out of prison’ and flogging rubbish.
      5) She recognises friends, and licks them to death to make them welcome on her own terms.
      6) She never bites anyone.

Bollocks to nutters who try and take her away from me, we’ll both be on the case – I have a decent wooden club by the front door! (But by the time said club is used, the intruder will be suffering from burst eardrums)!

With the £300 they said our bills would drop and the £150 they also said the bills would drop, this £117 makes the average energy bill £567 cheaper.
I must be doing something wrong because my bills only seem to increase.

Why don’t interviewers ask them about things like this.
I know they just blame it on Iran, Brexit, Ukraine, Covid or whatever else is happening (there’s always something to blame) but our interviewers, even many on GB News, let the left off very easy.
I think it’s because nobody from Labour would come on if they were asked difficult questions and that’s why they (GBN) seem to have so many absolute nut cases on giving the left point of view. All of them proper obnoxious blood pressure raisers.

The energy price cap limits the price of a single unit of energy for customers paying for variable energy tariffs.

The price cap is not a limit on your total bill. It restricts the price per unit (or kWh) that energy companies can charge. You can find the average rates below.

The price cap does not apply to fixed tariffs.

The energy price cap is primarily paid for by consumers through their energy bills. While it limits the maximum amount a supplier can charge for a unit of energy, the cap level is calculated based on the costs suppliers face, meaning costs are passed on to consumers

The UK government’s energy support schemes, primarily the Energy Price Guarantee (EPG) and Energy Bill Support Scheme (EBSS) that operated between October 2022 and March 2024, cost an estimated £44 billion.

Oh, and whilst the price cap stops energy companies from charging more per unit, it does f-all about them raising the standing charge by 10p, or more, per day.

Man, 36, appears in court after being charged over Derby car ramming that injured seven people.

An Indian man has appeared in court charged with ploughing his car into a crowd in Derby city centre.

Sandhu Ponnachan, 36, is accused of mounting a pavement in a Suzuki Swift and mowing down pedestrians, leaving seven people injured, some seriously, on March 28.

Shop owners reported hearing ‘banging and screaming’ from the street as emergency services rushed to the scene outside the Bishop Blaise pub in Friar Gate

Four of the seven victims – four men and three women aged between 36 and 52 – have been discharged from hospital, police confirmed. All of the victims’ injuries are non-life-threatening.

Ponnachan of Chariot Close, Alvaston, appeared before Southern Derby Magistrates’ Court charged with six counts of GBH with intent, one count of attempted GBH with intent, dangerous driving and possession of a bladed article.

The defendant has lived in Derby for several years after moving from India.

He showed no emotion in the dock of the court.

Wearing glasses and dressed in a plain grey T-shirt, grey jogging bottom and light blue croc-type footwear, Ponnachan spoke only to confirm his personal details, including his address.

He was remanded in custody until an appearance at Derby Crown Court on April 29.

There was no application for bail during the hearing, which lasted for around five minutes.
