Donnison Down And Dirty Down Under

So that’s why Australia has so many sheep…they mine them!

Jon Donnison hasn’t changed much, still bringing us his unique take on the news.

Whilst the BBC cheers on the doughty Hamas approved miners tunnelling their way to Egypt in the quest for non-Israeli approved  brands of corn flakes or whatever their fancy is,  Jon Donnison down under gives us the sense that he doesn’t really approve of the Aussie miners tunnelling for dirty old coal.

He asks:

Why are Australians worried about the economy?

He concludes it is down to coal mining one way or another.

However one economic burden he doesn’t consider is the massive, in fact world record, carbon taxes and emissions trading schemes imposed by government on business:

Here also via Bishop Hill are two climate related stories of note:

The first is actually the BBC doing the job properly and debunking climate change hothead’s alarmist numbers (A transcript of the programme):

Event: Climate refugee projections unquestioningly adopted by IPCC are “iffy”

The second is a bit of schadenfreude…..you know the Northwest Passage is now open to yachts and pleasure boating…well, not so much…there is 60% more sea ice this year than last….must be ‘extreme weather’ caused by climate change.

The Northwest Passage after decades of so-called global warming has a dramatic 60% more Arctic ice this year than at the same time last year. The future dreams of dozens of adventurous sailors are now threatened. A scattering of yachts attempting the legendary Passage are caught by the ice, which has now become blocked at both ends and the transit season may be ending early. Douglas Pohl tells the story: The Passage has become blocked with 5/10 concentrated drifting sea ice at both the eastern and at the western ends of Canada’s Arctic Archipelago. At least 22 yachts and other vessels are in the Arctic at the moment. Some who were less advanced have retreated and others have abandoned their vessels along the way. Still others are caught in the ice in an unfolding, unresolved drama.

Ah, the BBC only report on warming and everything that goes with it, because, you see, they firmly believe that is what is still happening, even though it isn’t (and hasn’t been for 17 years).

At every opportunity the eco-green mantra is cunningly pushed our way via most of their programmes. Don’t they know that we’ve had a belly-full, already? Can’t they see that we are sick of it all, and don’t believe it anyway? Will they ever learn? I have my doubts.

The BBC – Telling us it’s warmer when it’s cooler.
The BBC – Convinced that climate change has only just begun, and it’s all our fault.
The BBC – promoting the Age of Stupid.

“Whilst the BBC cheers on the doughty Hamas approved miners tunnelling their way to Egypt […]”

Sorry to veer off-topic a wee bit, but this caught my interest:
    http://calevbenyefuneh.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/no-rachel-corries-complaining-when.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed:+LoveOfTheLand+%28Love+of+the+Land%29

“No Rachel Corries complaining when Egypt bulldozes homes to block terrorist tunnels”

And no bleeding heart BBC reporters seem to have heard of it either. In order to remedy this glaring omission I have emailed BBC news with various links to the story. I will not hold my breath until it is reported online, on air, or on anything BBC.

Wise decision not to hold your breath, as it was only a couple of years ago that the BBC actually started admitting there was a border with and controlled by Egypt at all.

Is Beeboid energy ‘expert,’ and anti-coal advocate (natch) Donnison, angling for Hampstead Harrabin’s job when he retires?

Credit where it’s due, that Radio 4 item on climate migrants is very good. A couple of classic statements from the eco-loon side of things. When asked about a claim they are pushing of 200 million climate migrants by 2050, the UN says it “cannot comment in any way on the accuracy of a figure we did not produce”. This despite the UN selecting and funding the environmentalist academic who produced the figures. And then when the said academic is asked where are these refugees, In his reply he says “I would be very suspicious of somebody who said “Where are they?””. So there. Don’t ask questions of an eco-loon – it makes you look suspicious.

Of course, this extremely dodgy climate migrant claim was adopted by the IPCC and others, and despite criticism – even some from the eco-loon side – the claim retains enough currency to be recently quoted by Chris Bryant MP.

Whatever St John was taking when he wrote the Apocalypse, some people are now taking overdoses of it.

By legend, St John had his vision in a cave on the island of Patmos. I visited it last year – and had the same thought in mind, what was he snorting at the time ?

Above the cave is an ancient Byzantine church – and up on the hill is a major Byzantine monastery. Lovely places to visit – but how is it possible that the community on the island and its artefacts managed to survive the Medieval Warm Period ? How is it, also, that the ancient Greek site of Ephesus nearby on the mainland, at virtually sea level, managed to survive ?

Can Harrabin help out here ? Why weren’t these places overatken by disaster, it was warmer then than now ?

Apparently the “other vessels” trapped include 21 or so jet skiers. I suppose if they put skis on their machines they could glide over the ice?

What a gift to the booming polar bear population, which must be getting short of seal meat by now…..

What a typical BBC leftwing snot Donnison seems to be. If you google Jon Donnison Twitter you get to his Twitter page whether you’re on Twitter or not (I’m not). Scroll down and it soon becomes clear that the newspaper Donnison quotes more often than any other is the Guardian. It’s almost as if no other paper exists. And he still tweets and retweets posts calculated to show Israel in a bad light, such as Guardian Jerusalem correspondent Harriet Sherwood’s.

Al beeb never misses a chance to expensively send a moron like snorting Donnison to foreign parts. So can anyone tell us why they sent a self-admitted America hater, one Justin Webb, to squat like a carrion vulture at the White House?
