Guess the BBC didn’t forgive Blair for the Iraq War and Dyke having to fall on his sword, and Blair still relying on Murdoch to get his message across:

From the Guardian…emails in 2006 from Labour during in-fighting over leadership between Brown and Blair camps:

1.58pm from Ruth Turner (Blair’s  director of government relations at No 10):

So BBC chose [MPs] Sarah McCarthy-Fry, Julie Morgan and George Mudie who are hostile rather than Mike Gapes, Ann Clwyd and Karen Buck [who] are reasonable and supportive. This is a campaign organisation and not a news outlet!

3.36pm from Jonathan Powell [Blair’s long-serving chief of staff]:

Did we publish his three foreign policy speeches as a pamphlet? TB wants to send to Murdoch.

Make of that what you will….this is yet another open thread to take you into the  weekend….

After all day urging its audience to avoid jumping to the conclusion that the Kenyan attack was the work of “terrorists”, the BBC now accept that Al-Shabaab have something to say about the attrocity, but have not explicitly claimed responsibility. In fact the responsibility lies with the Kenyan government for killing innocent Muslims in Somalia. No blood on the jihadis’ hands it would seem

Surprised no ones this. Two ‘British men’ arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft which was forced to land at Stanstead – the airport reserved for terrorism & Hijackings.

Israel soldier abducted and killed in West Bank

Will the BBC get around to naming the soldier? He was 20-year-old Tomer Hazan.
Will the BBC correct the map? Qalqiliya is in the Palestinian Authority (West Bank?) not as it appears just over the Israeli border.
Will the BBC correct the headline? The correct adjective is Israeli?
Will the BBC admit the event really happened and is not just a claim (which could subsequently be disproved) by the Israelis?
Will the BBC write that the soldier was persuaded to visit his murderer’s home and was not in the West Bank in any sort of official capacity?

(the BBC knows the veil has nothing to do with religion, is an overt political statement, is not in the Quran, and is discouraged from both the Hajj and the Mosque.
The question is deliberately misleading …
indicating to the viewer that this garment is a religious item, as a given fact)

After about 30 minutes and breakdowns I finally managed to submit this complaint to the BBC:

In the report of the Nairobi murders, you use the term ‘Brit’ in your headline: ‘Brits caught in Kenya attack.’

‘Brit’ is now a racist term. It is normally used pejoratively or at best sneeringly.

If the headline read ‘Pakis caught in Kenya attack’, the headline writer would be sacked by the BBC.

Could you please stop using it, even in headlines? I notice the story goes on to use the term ‘Britons’ which is acceptable.

This usage illustrates a problem I increasingly notice on your online news website, and that is badly or unedited stories often showing a sort of metropolitan bias.

Presumably you will also be writing to all the tabloids to make the same complaint. The Sun uses Brit in its headlines, typically when a plucky sportsman has won something. In fact, you must be the only person in Christendom aware of this pejorative usage.

Perhaps you can enlighten me as to how these are ‘derogratory’.

On the other hand, perhaps you are being fantastically oversensitive. Given the space devoted elsewhere to the media’s overreaction to the word ‘sluts’, some may see your overreaction to a word which is in common usage as, well, ironic.

The issuer of the pejoritive term ‘Brit’ is the uniquely funded BBC. If the Sun does use the term ‘Brit’ and I object to that then I can withhold funding from the Sun. I am not obliged to fund the Sun because I subscribe to ‘Ferret Features’ magazine.
I am also aware of this pejorative use of the word ‘Brit’ so Framer is not the only person in ‘Christendom’ who is aware of this usage. If the usage of pejorative terms is not allowed for certain nationalities then it must not be allowed for any nationalities.
That is only fair isn’t it?

If people genuinely believe the BBC using the term ‘Brit’ is pejorative than that is IMO a classic example of the supposed bias being in the interpretation of the reader/listener/ viewer rather than in the actual content of what is broadcast. I have never before heard anyone say they find being called a Brit offensive. If you do then fine, but I suspect you’ll be in a tiny minority.

There are a few issues here really but unfortunately none we can hold the BBC to book for. Imagine the word Limey or Pom used in the same way, only certain nationalities use it and the usage can be both nickname and pejorative.

Another example is ‘Tory’: the BBC (and the UK Left in general) use it to say ‘nasty’, ‘toff’ etc but you can’t stop them as the Conservatives themselves use the name! It is who says it and how they say it.

            Pakis out!

Few people find the term ‘Brit’ offensive, although it is interesting to speculate as to why this abbreviation is deemed acceptable but the abbreviation ‘Paki’ is not. Far more offensive to many people is the manner in which the BBC use the terms Briton or British when describing people who clearly are not except in the most narrowest of senses (e.g. they live in Britain for the purposes of claiming benefits or escaping justice in their homelands). This is done quite intentionally by the MSM in order to undermine concepts of national identity and cultural unity. Remember, to them we are all ‘Europeans’ or ‘Citizens of the world’ . It is, of course, perfectly acceptable to be, say, Pakistani or Somalian when it suits.

Message for INBBC: no more euphemistic reports on Islamic jihad massacres.

An ‘Independent’ journalist (via CNN News) has compared this Islamic jihad massacre in Nairobi. to that of Mumbai, 2008.

The Al Shabab Islamic jihad massacre in Nairobi is targeting non-Muslims, but INBBC is relegating this vital part of Islamic jihad motivation of hate and murder. Al Shabab allowed Muslim to leave, but murdered as many non-Muslim hostages as possible.

As usual when there is a major terrorist attack overseas – the entire BBC twists and squirms to avoid using the words “TERRORISM” or “TERRORISTS”. In its news reporting on air, in Frank Gardiner’s piece, on tits website – the only words used are “gunmen” or “militants” or “fighters”.

The BBC was forced eventually to use the word terrorism to describe the London bombings – because it was in London.

There are British people caught up in the Nairobi massacre, it appears. But – just as with bombings at tourist centres in Egypt – the BBC avoids using the only proper words. How can shooting women and young children who could not recite a Muslim prayer be anything but Muslim terrorism ?

The BBC is truly sick to the core. Don;t try to reform it, it has bias verging upon evil in its DNA. Abolish it.

I caught the first BBC 1 England, “Question Time” question about the veil; typical liberal flip-flops and the pathological Jenny Wren journalist worrying about this issue actually fuelling “Islamophobic” thought patterns, and concerns that Islamophobes (and nasty parties) will use this issue for their own political ends.

And now, after the gun attack on the Kenyan shopping centre where witnesses are saying terrorists told moslems to leave and would be protected and that they only shot people they believed were non-moslems- I wonder what Question Time liberals think now about this uniform and declaration of moslem woman status?

No doubt some of them are thinking, well at least as an obvious Moslem she would have been protected in this latest horrific attack, if she had not been wearing it she may have been shot by mistake by the nasty terrorists(who of course are not really Moslems and perverting the religion of peace) as a non-moslem. Actually, every reason therefore to keep wearing it and to stop the non-moslems (and nasty Islamophobes) from demanding that the moslem women stop wearing it.

God forbid something like that should happen at London’s Brent Cross shopping centre, or that nice one next to the BBC in White City, or at a hospital in the NHS, and the wearing of veils had been forbidden, so many innocent moslem women may have been killed! God forbid, that they would have been mistaken for non-moslems! Didn’t that BBC journalist who was shot by terrorists also claim that he was a moslem- clearly you need to look and dress like a moslem as well. Paxman’s beard is a good start at the BBC.

I really think their perverted thought patterns function like this, and that they probably would have shrugged their shoulders and accepted in a dictatorship that some other religions, etc., wear yellow stars or sexual deviants, pink triangles on their clothes to distinguish them from other ‘normal’ people, and we should allow that too, if they wish to do so- it’s a freedom of choice matter. How else could they show that they were non-aryan? What is wrong with wearing your religion on your sleeve? Let her cover her face.

Liberal footnote to QT concerns: so, clearly, if you were a woman wearing a veil, and had been left alone by those racists in England asking for its removal (unlike the mainstream political parties in France, Belgium, Germany, etc.), a situation like this would have been very dangerous indeed, because clearly terrorists don’t target moslem women wearing veils. They had a Rabbi and an Iman on who both thought it was wrong and anti-Semitic.

What occurred to me though, after a very one-sided debate where one out of three panalists was prevaricating and only one ‘guest’ was approving, was the attitude that Jews were better off not advertising themselves on the terraces. In fact, it seemed, that the panel seemed to think that football would be better off without Jews all together.

This attitude was highlighted by the fact that when they came to talk about robots ( and what an astonishing debate that was) the view of the Jew was not required and the Rabbi was replaced by a grinning child.

So, if you are Jewish take heed the warning – stay out of sight your opinions are not required unless it is to suit the BBCs current meme.

How long, I wonder before the idea mutates to the country being better off without Jews?

The BBC’s favourite radicals must be doing overtime around the globe (but, of course, it’s got nothing to do with that book, the Koran)

I need to catch up with these events in Kenya.

So, this Al Shishkebab group: are they the moderate arm of Al Qaeda? Can we talk to them?

Currently in hospital (staff great, systems buggered at near every stage; talk about lions lead by donkeys. Or, literally, death by clipboard), but too mean to fork out for the £10 daily telly feed. Being £10 on a dongle gets me all the net I can eat makes this a doomed business model.
But it also means I’m getting my ‘as it happens’ from sources I trust to be fast but honest, and then analysis afterwards from those who have professional integrity.
So, thanks to BBBC and links here too, I am quite up to speed as the tragic events in Kenya (& elsewhere… Seems like BOGOF at the local ROP massacre mart) unfold.
So it was…. Interesting.. To just get this ‘latest’ email from the world’s most events interpreter:

    Nairobi standoff ‘kills 59’

At least 59 people killed – 175 injured – in attack in Nairobi shopping centre, government minister says
So… it seems guns don’t kill people: standoffs do.
I know they are desperate to avoid admitting the facts, but beyond their usual semantic backflips that really is cretinous.

Now then, now then, be careful what you wish for on the NHS. Just remember to hide if you see someone in a tracksuit.

Oh and avoid the yellow pudding, it put me into remission on my last stint in hell.

      GWS ‘natch.

OT. You had to go & jinx it.
So far the meals have been OK, but they appear to play musical wards on Sunday, and I ended up with previous guy’s veggie burger.
If anyone who shouldn’t got my pork and apple stew, expect the schedules to be cleared across the West Mids media estate, with stories of hospital admins lunging in slo-mo to knock it from the lips of some kid being treated for malnourishment.
And suddenly now present parents with Keith Vaz in tow seeking compo for the affront my highly missed dinner represents.

Around 60 people have been killed in the bombing of a church in Pakistan. An opportunity for the BBC to consider the persecution of Christians in that country? Nah. Instead we get a link to a two month old story entitled “Pakistan grapples with rising tide of extremist violence” (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-23319254). Just to set the scene it opens with a picture and the words “Worshippers react nervously when they hear raised voices outside the mosque”. It discusses Shia-Sunni violence – and there is certainly a lot of it there – but not a single mention of the attacks on Christians that have killed thousands during the past decade. Nor any reference to the dozen or so executed for blasphemy. Not any reference Pakistan’s constitution that prevents a Christian being the prime minister or a senior judge. Nope, they’re as quiet on this subject as your local bishop.

Main headline on BBC news text, “Britons amongst dead in Kenya”
The sad thing is that its highly unlikely that Briton in this case means what it used to, when I hear the word Briton it means ‘like me’ yet sadly today that’s not the case…

As an aside just finished watching the F1 race live on German TV (as the BBC prefer to waste money on The Voice) why is is that the Germans don’t suffer ‘placements’ in their adverts etc, German TV appears to be hideously white….
