ON CERTAINTY

The one thing that you can be certain about is that Roger Harrabin is an unapologetic cheer-leader for the AGW mob.

“Scientists are more certain than ever that greenhouse gases from human activities are heating the planet, the head of the UN’s climate panel says. Rajendra Pachauri made the comments in an interview with BBC News. The panel is due to deliver its latest report on the state of the climate later this week in Stockholm, Sweden.”

    Have I got this right?:-

Hampstead Harrabin is employed by BBC, not by Greenpeace?

Scientists have revised their opinions from certain-ish to incredibly certain, to use the language of probability theory…..

A fanatic seemingly becomes more certain, as everyone around them realises that failure is certain.

It happened to Robespierre, Hitler etc.

Hopefully, that means that if history repeats itself, Pachauri and Harrabin will commit suicide the day after they announce 100 percent certainty.

Sadly, I have to disagree. Sorry.

These people always end up somewhere and on their feet. A new bandwagon is never far away and they can sense an opportunity for a quick buck.

What is important to them is not the story, whatever that might be, but access to the wheels of power. If this is via the BBC, fake charities, NGO’s or political pressure groups, who cares. Its a bit like trougher Yeo. “I can get you access . . . ” remember ?!?!

Its not what you know, its who you know. And they have all the contacts.

Shukman has just been on the news again with his scary movie clips and tales of the evil poison co2 in the air we are all breathing dramatically increasing. However,a small sign of progress though as they included a short clip by Andrew Montford from the bishop hill blog. Overall though the message left for the plebs was that we should still be afraid, be very afraid.
Blatant bias remains for now but looking forward to the IPCC pantomime next week and the backlash from the skeptics as they rip it apart.

  6. From the linked report:

“I don’t think there is a slowdown (in the rate of temperature increase). I would like to draw your attention to the World Meteorological Organization which clearly stated on the basis of observations that the first decade of this century has been the warmest in recorded history.

Yet we had the Met Office fella on yesterday’s Breakfast mentioning how they had always expected a “pause”

So according to the pro AGW lot a pause was expected, we see a pause in the data, but there isn’t a slowdown according to the engineer that runs climate change..

So now we have the schrodinger climate change theory where there both is and isn’t a pause all at the same time.

As always, the devil is in the detail.

I noted that they said, ” . . . first decade of this century has been the warmest in recorded history.”

Recorded history. But for how long has it been recorded. The Earth’s temperature, as we all know, has been going up and down throughout its ‘entire’ history, not recorded.

We need to read carefully. Their lies are easily contained within.

I recall the recent winters, which all in the media cited as being unprecedented in severity, before in some cases mentioning the same or worse in the 70’s.
By definition, they have no clue.
Ignorance or venality, either way it’s a lot of money being poured into horse droppings.

Since the medieval warm period 800 years ago, is more accurate than since recorded history.

Recorded history must mean “the recorded temperature history”, before this they use proxies like bore hole data.

Its BBC legal word trickery, used to manipulate the viewer, without the BBC facing legal action for lying.

I cannot recall when comments were last allowed on an AGW article on the BBC website. It is quite some time. What are they worried about?
Closing down discussion allows them to lie, exaggerate, mislead and misrepresent with impunity. Harrabin’s atrocious piece yesterday even included the Marcot et al graph showing a recent, hockey-stick-like spike in temperature.
This despite the fact the Marcot has admitted his data and findings for the last 100 years is ‘not robust’.

“I cannot recall when comments were last allowed on an AGW article on the BBC website”

      Makes a rather chilling sense.
If the first casualty is truth, the second more than likely being the means to show it is being corrupted.
