BBC SOAPBOX FOR BULLIES….

I had the misfortune to watch this classic piece of bullying from Alastair Campbell on Newsnight last evening. In my view, Maitlis let Campbell control the “debate”, she permitted hectoring, outrageous allegations and vicious ad hominem. Why? Because Campbell was saying what the BBC believe. I had an exchange myself with Campbell earlier today on Twitter. I suspect he is not a fan of me or this website.

    The BBC ‘s selection of Campbell as the champion of ethical rectitude in such matters is an interesting one.
    The abilities of Ms,.Maitlis beyond being a muttonesque clothes horse are hard to discern, making her ongoing deployment by BBC producers intriguing.

        She certainly attacked the Mail journalist like a mama grizzly defending her little cub Ed.
        Also she didn’t seem to notice that Alastair was p*ssed as a f*rt!

    I thought News nights re-working of ‘the crucible’ was excellent, only the most obdurate leftist could have mistaken the BBC’s hysterically partisan reaction to what is a non-story ,as impartial journalism.

    The BBC is Crapbells pension. As part of the payoff from the Iraq war whitewash he’s been granted privileged access to the building to do and say what he wants. I’ve seen the odious git go off on one so often that I fear he’ll top himself and I’ll miss the event:(

      Based on Robin Aitken’s version of events ,I think there could be a great deal of truth in that.
      And if so. a far greater scandal than what the Mail thinks of millipedes’ old dad
      Perhaps Panorama will do an investigation in to that, if they can take time out from looking for bogus smears on tory peers (rhyme unintentional but I’ll stick with it)

        Speaking of Panorama.
        It`s been two days now since they screened their piece on Al Shabab…and it`s not yet available on iPlayer.
        There may be an innocent explanation-but it`s the BBC that we`re talking about here, so I don`t tend to think of this as a first option.
        Had it been about St Ralph Miliband, am I being cynical to assume that it would already be available on catch up?

    So fighting the Nazis in WWII means you loved Britain, does it?

    Someone should maybe tell that to the millions of dead Soviets on the Eastern front.

    alastair campbell has got a cheek coming on the bbc with his moralising,this is a man who hands are dripping with blood after he admitted on more than one occasion that he encouraged tony blair to go to war with iraq,he still wont apologise for that,maybe the familys of the 450 british soldiers and 100.000 iraqi civilians who died in that war for nothing would like to tell campbell what they think of his lies about weapons of mass destruction that led to tony blairs decision to bomb iraq and turn it into a jihadi playground for every terrorist in the middle east,see the thing is,campbell is a non entity in british politics anymore and i wish he would just go away never to be heard of again.

      Amen!!!!!! But the BBC have decided to rehabilitate this repulsive, lying monster’s reputation and turn him into a political oracle. Scum, all of them.

      Anyone who sees Campbell, whether in person or on the tv screen, should just start talking about his murderously manipulative role in the Iraq dead.

      Doesn’t matter what he wants to talk about, or what the subject is – whenever Campbell speaks or shows his face ‘Iraq, Iraq, Iraq‘.

  10. Through aggressive marketing, companies such as Ad – Lib and Creative Labs made sound cards a necessary
    component in the modern computer. Think about having a deal with
    that symbolizes your flavour and sense of style.
    Also, while fishing is allowed on-site, guests must adhere to the ‘catch and release’ philosophy; all fish caught must be immediately released and left unharmed.

    Campbell clearly intimidated Maitliss. He is what he always was. I still think having him on was a subversive act by a non PC Newsnight person.
    He was awful and no credit to the left.

    If ever the BBC has brought shame on itself it has done so this week. First we had the spectacle of its outright lies about being ‘unable to
    find’ a scientist to speak against the latest fakery from the IPCC (several reputable scientists have blown the lid off that lie by Harrabin, over on Bishop Hill) and now we have the hand-wringing and boo-hoooing over the Mail’s treatment of Milliband’s Marxist father.

    The Left can howl all it likes. Ralph Milliband was part of a network of Marxist academics who deliberately spread their poison in our universities and who are directly responsible for many of the worst aspects of British society today, from the pseudo-religions of multiculturalism, political correctness and moral relativism to, coming full circle, the espousal of ‘global warming’ as an excuse for the sort of policies Marxists have been agitating for since the early 20th Century.

      Marxists have been agitating for …
      first the USSR, and when that Leftist ‘paradise’ failed agitated for the EU, to take over Britain.

      Anyone supporting a viciously murderous ideology that wants to change the face of Britain so it is no longer recognisable*, and wishing to destroy the organs and institutions that make it what it is, must truly hate Britain.

      *e.g. Miliband involvement in:
      – ‘open door’ immigration to ‘rub the Right’s nose in diversity’;
      – destroying UK business with an energy-sucking ‘Climate Change Act’;
      – making the vulnerable make ‘heat or eat’ killing choices;
      – trying to destroy the freedom of the press vital to democracies yet so hated by totalitarianism;
      – etc and probably many other policies we are unaware of.

        The entire liberal left philosophy is designed to destroy old England. Both the indigenous people and their stubborn conservatism about their way of life. It is a direct assault upon the family, the notion of Englishness and the traditional religion and culture of the people.
        By definition, mine anyway, they have no love for old England. It is time to understand this and that there is a real culture war going on.
        Millibands are not on my side anymore than is the liberal media.
        The BBC? Firmly on the other side I fear.

    Very amusing brief exchange with Campbell, DV. I’m not sure if Elvis Costello’s negative opinion is the condemnation he thinks it is, though.

    Campbell trounced his opponent who was given ample opportunity to respond. That doesn’t equate to bias. I must have missed where he was introduced as the ‘champion of ethical rectitude’ though, unless of course you just made that up. I did heart Maitliss challenge him on that point though.

      The beauty of free speech, while it lasts: ‘if you say so’.
      ‘I must have missed where he was introduced as the ‘champion of ethical rectitude’
      You appear to miss a lot. Especially how opinion-driven debate works. As opposed to a pathetic ramble. Explaining just how much you miss and offering thoughts on why would now appear an exercise in futility, no matter how entertaining.
      Maitlis was/is pathetic. Her unprofessional spluttering, interruptions and tribal talkpoints were pure bias-driven. Campbell was bonkers, pissed or both. Maitlis was either ineffective or weighed in unprofessionally. In my opinion.
      Real poison indeed. Made for each other. Odd, given what Campbell did to the BBC over Kelly.
      ps: Small tip – if you hit reply first, a box appears that means what you possibly think you have value responding with appears next to the piece referred to.

      If the BBC, and you, feel that Mr. Campbell was the best vehicle of moral indignation to hold the Mail to account and defend Ed’s honour, good luck to you.

      Sounds like he’d be perfect material for the BBC market rate top floor, at least in terms of variable mental acuity if Pollard, Rose, PAC inquiries are any guide.
      Personally, I’d say the new Newsnight editor may benefit from extending the scope of what seems a very small, narrow, iPhone address list.

      Paddy, if you think the Mail man was trounced, then you obviously equate hectoring and shouting as legitimate weapons in a so-called debate. The Mail man quietly destroyed Campbell with reasoned answers and refused to rise to loaded accusations, well done to him. Shout and scream at people in an argument yourself do you?

    Campbell accusing others of being bullies when he is exposing himself as the blatant playground bully he insists he isn’t. What an obnoxious display he put on, if he is like that in front of millions of viewers it doesn’t take much imagination to see what he must have been like as Blair’s attack dog when dealing in private or on the phone with reporters who dare say something he doesn’t like.

    He and his ilk, along with the Labour Party, are willing to hurl abuse around but scream like babies and throw tantrums when the behaviour is returned.

    Having, along with the over enthusiastic help of the BBC, made every effort to silence the Sun for daring to stop behaving like the BBC by slavishly following Labour’s agenda and having succeeded in destroying the News of the World in their blatant attempt to bring down News International they now move on to the next target.

    Like Labour the BBC absolutely detest the Daily Mail to the point of it becoming a complete fixation with them and they will take or invent every opportunity they can to try and discredit the paper. The fact the Mail doesn’t slavishly follow the Labour/BBC vision means it must be silenced, especially because of it’s popularity with the public.

    Dissent will not be tolerated and any refusal to accept that will lead to those responsible being destroyed. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
