Yes, that’s right, potholes in the roads.
Ignore the newspaper that was criticised my Mi5 chief for leaking secrets to terrorist organisations, the real threat to UK citizens is from potholes FFS.
What a treacherous bunch of terrorist sympathising scum bags we have running the bbc.

And did you notice former BBC man ‘hideously white’ Greg Dyke – now at Fifa (!) was quick to slap down the idea that maybe to qualify then a footballer should be born in England. ‘ We dont need to go as far as being born here,’ he said, in horrified tones!

How about simply being ethnic English then, having a grandparent or four born here?

    Reposed from old open thread

Anybody notice just how quickly the unwelcome (to the BBC) news that the ‘Torykutz’ have not destroyed the nation (as predicted by the BBC) vanished from the news agenda. I am fairly sure that if this survey had shown that Labour was right in its shroud waving then it may have got a little more exposure….

Similarly the rapid disappearance of the unwelcome news that the Labour education policy from 1997 to 2010 has been proven to be a complete catastrophe with Britain now 21st out of 23 nations in literacy and numeracy for 16 to 24 year olds.

Oh, and while I am at it the BBC’s ability to ignore the upgrading of UK economic growth (despite the BBC constantly telling me there would be a ‘triple dip’ recession)

Strange isn’t it when a nespaper being blunt about a politicians father can dominate BBC coverage for a whole week. Makes you wonder if the BBC is grinding any axes…..

I have never seen an easier or softer political interview. Anne Robinson, as I write this, is destroying some hapless executive of some airline. She is her usual savage self… However,

BBC Watchdog has just given Ed Miliband such a soft and agreeable interview that it was the closest thing to an official labour party political broadcast.

He was given free reign to patronise and lie his way through his utterly asanine and unworkable energy bill freeze.

Nobody has done more to push bills up through the roof than Ed Miliband, when he was energy secretary in the last labour government.

He was throwing conspiracy theories out left and centre.

I think the BBC and watchdog have sunk to a new low.

Education,Education,Education….. and look what we got for our billions and billions, after 13 years of the Labour policy , the OECD Report confirms that England has one of the worst education performances in the developed world for people aged 16 to 24.
If this abject failure had been of a Tory policy the BBC would have been shouting it from the roof tops for a week. What happened , well PM did cover it in some depth but then it rapidly slid down the running order until it disappeared altogether from Newsnight.
The OECD report confirms what people in England have known and been saying for years, that our education system is badly broken. But the liberal left and their chief scrutiniser the BBC, have denied this , with Labour claiming that they improved standards !
As with the NHS scandals, the BBC downplays the reports because they reflect so badly on Labour’s record and the public sector in general. Another appalling example of the BBC trying to manipulate the news and support their friends in the public sector.
The Tories must continue to allow the daylight into the public sector, so we can all see what a shoddy deal we tax payers get for our money. Of course, even if they do they will have to rely on other media to tell us because the BBC will try to cover it up.

Greg Barker: BBC gives too much prominence to climate change sceptics

That’s Tory MP Greg Barker. His gripe seems to be that a couple of sceptics got some BBC airtime after the publication of the IPCC’s latest missive. That the BBC had sidelined sceptical voices for years is of no account to Mr Barker.

“I’m not trying to ban all dissenting voices but we are doing the public a disservice by treating them as equal, which is not the case.”

Yes, that’s exactly what you’re trying to do, and the BBC has never treated dissenting voices as equal. In fact, the BBC has acted as a campaigning group rather than an impartial broadcaster on this matter. And here’s the really sinister bit.

He said there was “no departmental view” on whether reforms to press regulation should play a role in ensuring incorrect coverage was challenged but said it was “extremely frustrating” to see reports he believed were misleading.

Either it doesn’t compute with Campbell, or if it does, the strictures of the beeboid ‘narrative’ stop the saying of it, but mass (& illegal) immigration falls heavily on the shoulders of second-generation, integrated, law-abiding immigrants, who also feel, acutely, the pressures on housing, schools, the NHS, jobs, & deplore the arriviste criminality, the lurking terrorism, the cultural impositions, the new ‘exceptionalism’ that have been dumped on them, as much as do the indigenous British.
This needs to be said, & would begin to dispel the reflex accusations of ‘racism’ that fly whenever genuine concerns about social cohesion are raised. Of course, it would be like a wrecking ball in the truly racist Left’s glass factory, where their ‘identity groups’ must conform to the descriptions written on their labels. British people of differing skin colours care about who’s coming in to their country; many have socially conservative views because they live at the sharp end of enforced social engineering. They do not understand why a good country is being subverted.
I’d like Campbell to listen to the unfiltered views of my
neighbours on our problems with Somali gangs. Oh, & by the way, those neighbours include West Indians, Greeks, Indians, Vietnamese and Africans. Bluntly they will say, ‘Why are these thugs here? What do they bring us other than trouble? When will our politicians listen?’ He might well piss himself.

BBC News shared BBC World News’s photo.

In an exclusive interview with the BBC, the leader of the Pakistani #Taliban has said he is prepared to hold peace talks with the government. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-24463839 Hakimullah Mehsud, has a five-million-dollar bounty on his head and is among the world’s most wanted men. He outlined a number of conditions for peace talks, including a halt to US drone strikes and the imposition of sharia law. He also said his group would continue to target Americans and their allies. The interview was carried out at an undisclosed location in Pakistan’s tribal regions near the Afghan border.
Boy, when the BBC gets the ‘named’ sources they seem to be almost like they are in the cubilce next door, and happy to be loud & proud with who gets the exclusives, eh? Location FoI exempted, natch.
Holding talks about ‘peace’ so long as the drone deal is called off… seems fair.
Mind you, no real guarantees on the shooting & beheading etc, as that can be fobbed off on ‘others’, may be a dealbreaker to most other than the world’s must gullible media monopoly.
And sharia is a non-negotiable. Sorry Malala & gurlfrends.
Having the BBC as a gushing, straight-to-social-media PR envoy does seem a one-sided affair at best.

Another comment in that thread led me to this BBC online article with blatant bias in the inset “Analysis” from BBC political correspondent, Robin Brant.

After some moaning about SSE raising their price to consumers by 8.2%, near the end of the piece is this:

Up to 11% goes on government programmes to save energy, reduce emissions and tackle climate change, according to regulator Ofgem. SSE said it wanted this to be included in general taxation, rather than added to bills.

Then there’s more hand-wringing and pressure put on SSE to defend it’s evil profits. However, in spite of the above 11% from Ofgem, Robin Brant gives us this is in his “analysis”:

David Cameron wants to shift the focus of restricting price rises on to green taxes, which make up part of your bill.

It’s only a small percentage of what you pay but the government, or at least the Tory side of it, is looking at exempting some smaller firms to encourage them to compete.

In other words, this “small percentage” is larger than the increase from SSE. Yet the BBC doesn’t want the nasty Tories to touch a hair on the sacred Green Tax’s head. Yes, I’m making a sweeping statement that it’s the BBC and not just Brant.

Robert Peston also gets to opine, in which he presents the false choice of Cameron either reducing/eliminating the Green Tax, or not reducing evil profit (upon which Peston frowns in occasional moments of honesty), which would harm the poorest and most vulnerable. Eliminating the tax would lower prices, and only Statists think price controls are a good idea. Again this mindset is endemic at the BBC.

This now must be considered, as we’ve been told by BBC producers, journalists, and complaints apparatchiks, in the larger context of the BBC’s overall coverage of the Green Tax. Let us then recall that the BBC actually censored a bit out of a Mervyn King statement where he blamed the Green Tax for pushing energy prices too high.

They’re all at it. No memo needed, no editorial directive from on high necessary for this bias to manifest itself in different places if they all think the same way already. Of course, in the case of Warmism and the vital need to support Green Energy (the sole reason for the existence of the tax), the BBC actually did make an editorial directive and held that Warmist synod (known colloquially as 28-Gate) to infuse Warmist thinking throughout the different departments of the BBC. In this case, the bias is natural and an editorial imperative.

On Radio 4’s media Show James Purnell , once a Labour Minister and now back at the BBC for a second spell as the Director of Strategy, spent 15 minutes or so, telling us how the BBC was going to move heavily into new media and develop a ‘ My BBC ‘ concept aimed at those who made extensive use of new media.
Nothing remarkable in that except that I strongly suspect that the BBC wants to use it state funding to try and establish a dominant position in ‘new media’ so as to be able to keep commercial rivals out and extend their monopolistic control of what the country sees and hears.
The Tories should, indeed must say no, and tell the BBC that if they want to spend money on establishing a bridgehead and then a dominant position in new media, they will have to do so on a commercial basis and that no TV watching LF money can be use to build this position, after all most LF payers won’t benefit much from this. But, much more importantly, new media represents our best chance to free people from the domination of the BBC and to hear the truth and get a plurality of views that a democracy needs. In 10 years it is likely that fewer and fewer people will get their media via TV and the BBC will slowly die owing to lack of funds. The BBC must not be allowed to build a dominant position in new media and so continue to control the news and current affairs agenda of the country for decades to come.

‘Precisely 100 years after the death of Islam’s prophet Muhammad in 632, his Arab followers, after having conquered thousands of miles of lands from Arabia to Spain, found themselves in Gaul, modern day France……

Prior to this, the Islamic conquerors had for one century been subjugating all peoples and territories standing in their western march—including Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. In 711, the Muslims made their fateful crossing of the straits of Gibraltar, landing on European soil. Upon disembarkation, the leader of the Muslims, Tariq bin Zayid, ordered the Islamic fleet burned, explaining that, “We have not come here to return. Either we conquer and establish ourselves here, or we perish’.

You know, it’s funny, I’ve never heard that bit of history covered on the BBC – ever. For some reason, the BBC seem keen to promote a narrative which says the Christian/Muslim conflict began with The Crusades.

JimS, this is what the BBC uses as proof of their overall balance and impartiality: “complaints from both sides”. In this case, the complaint opposite ours seems to be that Mardell isn’t explicitly calling Boehner and the Republicans traitors and demanding for arrests, like Atlantic Mag has humorously suggested. Impartial BBC journalists aren’t supposed to display rancour, so I fully expect defenders of the indefensible and lurking and non-lurking journalists to head over there and scold “Themotco” for his/her foolish demand that the BBC should simply express the opinion he/she wants to hear.

Blaming Republicans exclusively and using the White House’s heated rhetoric isn’t good enough for the commenter. But Mardell and the BBC can claim this as evidence of balance.
