Yes old episodes of Dr Who have indeed been found, episodes paid for by the BBC licence payer, but these were found a year or so ago, why the embargo?
Because the BBC would rather create maximum exposure prior to the release on ITunes at £2.49 a pop. Not much but with the endless fans out there (not me) and a DVD release to follow and after being restored (at our cost) they would rather do a deal with an American company to maximize profits. There are no plans for them to be broadcast.
The BBC are funded in a unique way (us, the UK licence payer) yet it seems we have to pay twice to watch such programs.
Of course, totally unscrupulous people with no regard for the law will probably download the files illegally, when available, using the excuse that they are licence payers and have already paid for them.
I would never dream of doing such a thing, but others might.
Media self censorship. Coming to British TV and newspapers very soon.
Ok so with the BBC and the Guardian it is already here.
Unless it is a matter hostile to British interests then it’s all systems go.

Seems the BBC decided to do a ‘word cloud’ on all the comments on FaceBook they ran through the filter to puff themselves up some more and, channelling their inner Sally Field, it seems ‘we’ like them… we really ‘like’ them! BBC World News Hi everyone,
Yesterday we asked you to give us feedback on an increase to our Facebook posts last week.
Here’s a word cloud of your comments. Thanks again for letting us know what you think.
Sadly for the BBC, outside the unique, secret, FoI exempted control of the edit suite within the BBC, the comments so far to the post seem less…. sycophantic.
I wonder which will be trumpeted to gullible Trust munchkins and credulous MPs come Charter Review?

Funny how they managed to win yet still haven`t found the five drums of depleted uranium which went missing from Gaddafis underground weapons dump though…. The five drums were actually due to be handed over to a joint UN / NATO inspectorate about a month later as part of the agreement with the new trade deals and lifting of all embargos restricting Libyan trade with the west which had been in place since the Reagon era… also most of the biological and chemical hardware etc and his best tactical weapons and missile tech went too…. but they did find some gas masks and a few files in Korean and Urdu mentioning the word Sarin and a badly reaped goat with a broken pelvis and an arse like a `wizards sleeve` named Colonel Mahmoud behind some empty filing cabinets… I suppose depleted uranium isnt classed as a chemical by these fucktards …. theyre all too busy high fiving each other in between fist bumping society in the face with a boxing glove smeared in shit and wondering why we aren`t all smiling too!!! Wankers… another nobel prize for another meaningless and useless EU elite!! I`m made up I really am…

The reaction of the BBC to what may be described as a ‘gaffe’ by their favourite green room daughter will be interesting, along with their week-long staff twitter campaign in support of Mr. Gove against what appears to be a slip in professional editorial oversight at senior level within the Graun at the very least.
Mr. Katz of Newsnight no doubt already trying to find anyone he hasn’t stabbed in the back to come and comment tonight? Assuming factually inaccurate smears of ideological foes, and the fallout, isn’t a bit sensitive there still.
Or will we be treated to a now less outraged Prescoot/Campbell combo again going for a ‘Polly just being Polly’/’It was the right kind of smear on the line, so no harm no foul’ bit of ‘moving on?
So much inaccuracy. So many standards.
On a related note: http://www.buzzfeed.com/tomphillips/the-29-stages-of-a-twitterstorm
Only I think with the BBC involved, a few ‘editors’ are already ‘helping’ by about number eight, especially ‘looking for’ outraged petitions and/or campaigns to promo… ‘report’ upon, with 8,000 floral ‘journalists’ but an intranet away to kick things off externally… ‘views not the BBC’s’.
£4Bpa can can have quite an impact if in the sole hands of the unaccountable at a media monopoly.
Maybe something all those ‘reviews’ of plurality and charters may like to bear in mind.
The disgraceful attempt to smear Mr Gove is far worse than the behaviour of the Daily Mail.
The fact that Tonybee accused Gove of being responsible for the deaths of Baby P and Hamzah Khan is a disgrace, it is even more so when you consider that the deaths occurred during the last Labour government.
What should be a main BBC news item has not even surfaced on its website, when you compare this with the wall to wall coverage given to Milliband and his father this is completely outrageous.
Finally, why are no other Biased BBC commentators picking up on this clear example of bias?
With all the political finger-pointing by Mr Mardell and other BBC types, surely we can expect this in all issues raised about any financial crisis in the USA…. right ?
Wrong….. the gentleman who was mayor of Detroit during a significant part of its steep decline into bankruptcy, who managed to line his pockets to the tune of the best part of $1 million in the process (that is known of), and only resigned after being found guilty of lying under oath in a lawsuit, and approving the funding of an $8.4 million settlement to cover this up, amongst many other criminal acts, is clearly identified by the BBC as (politically) being a ……..
Well, you won’t find out from the BBC report below, but that probably points out to those who frequent this site, exactly which political party he represents (which other news sources do NOT hesitate to publish).
What’s wrong with the Nobel Committee? Don’t they watch the BBC? They’ve awarded the Peace Prize to a group which is working to remove chemical weapons. While as the BBC reminds me on the radio and web they were expected to pick Malala!

Always dangerous to claim that ‘it’s not on the BBC’ as that leaves a semantic goal open a mile wide.
So one is sure that it is there, somewhere, if possibly in different sections that need to be recombined like an ancient talisman to make the true meaning obvious.
However, given this is the head honcho of a bunch of folk rather noted for getting the rest of the world all het up, especially with claims of varying veracity or accuracy, one might think it would require a certain level of coverage to match?
Or are the uniques why not being assessed, FoI exempted, as we speak?
what? … a muslim group, muslim official … lying?
being deceitful? one story to the world, another to muslims? …

Fortunately, this temptation has been put out of my reach due to The Pirate Bay being so effectively blocked by all the ISPs.
