Passion For Freedom

 The Spectator asks:

Why can’t we admit we’re scared of Islamism?

The article reveals that an art exhibition examining freedom of expression had to be moved to a different location due to ‘threats’ towards the gallery….

‘Enemies of the exhibition’ had made threats, and it was worried about a ‘potential terrorist attack’

The article continues:

There was no secret about its decision. But not one of the arts correspondents for the broadsheets or BBC covered the threat to an international exhibition featuring the work of dozens of artists. I have argued many times that censorship is at its most effective when no one admits it exists. The first step to freeing yourself from oppressive power is to find the courage to admit that you are afraid. The more people confess to being afraid, the less reason there is to fear and the easier it is to isolate repressive forces.

Such threats to relatively small events are the tip of the iceberg…the massive drive by Muslim nations to silence any criticism at all of Islam is extraordinarily sinister and should be resisted at all costs.

Of course people have to know what is going on.

But they don’t.

There is already seems to be a self imposed silence on this reinvention of the Spanish Inquisition:

The OIC Secretary General appears to be laying the diplomatic groundwork to persuade non-elected bureaucrats at EU headquarters to enact hate-speech legislation that would limit by fiat what 500-million European citizens — including democratically elected politicians — can and cannot say about Islam

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an influential bloc of 57 Muslim countries, has officially inaugurated a Permanent Observer Mission to the European Union (EU). The primary objective of the OIC, headquartered in Saudi Arabia and funded by Islamic countries around the world, has long been to pressure Europe and the United States into passing laws that would ban “negative stereotyping of Islam.”

I can’t find any references on the BBC to the OIC’s drive to impose Islam upon the World…..as you can see from the Spectator’s article there is already a willingness from Judges in Europe to silence any critic of Islam by labelling such criticism as ‘racist’….

a criminal record for condemning honour killings and clerical misogyny — proving yet again that the interests of women always come last.

Of course the law of untended consequences could come into play.

If criticism of any religion is to be banned then the Koran would have to be banned, and Islam along with it……the hate that spews out of the Koran for non-Muslims must surely raise a few Judicial eyebrows:

‘The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans shall burn for ever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of creatures.’  98:6

Believers take neither Jews nor Christians for your friend.  5:51

‘Fight against such of those to whom the scriptures were given as believe in neither God nor the Last Day, who do not forbid what God and His Apostle have forbidden, and do not embrace the true faith, even if they are People of the Book, until they pay tribute out of hand and are utterly subdued.’  9:29

‘Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God’s religion shall reign supreme.’  8:39

Yes I noticed this was the lead ‘feature’ on the BBC’s web site ,where as this story
        http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-24889924
was relegated to page 95 of any other parish news.
Just as with Wootton Bassett, the BBC find themselves disconnected from ,surprised by and contemptuous of, the consensus zeitgeist.

Let’s click on that feature, shall we? It might explain to us why it is given such prominent billing. Well, no. It appears to be apropos of nothing. The only explanation is this:

Amiir’s story was told to journalist Benjamin Dix and drawn by artist Lindsay Pollock, from the collection Meet the Somalis by the Open Society Foundations.

So, let’s have a look at the web page for the Open Society Foundations.

“We help protect and improve the lives of people in marginalized communities.”
“Chronic human rights abuses are happening in the U.S. immigration detention system—at a $2 billion cost to taxpayers. Take a rare look inside”
“Ethnic profiling—the targeting of specific individuals or groups based on appearance—is unlawful and ineffective. Why does the practice continue, and how can we combat it?”
“The International Migration Initiative seeks to address systemic exploitation, discrimination, and violence against migrants at every stage of their journey.”

Well, no obvious agenda there. But how nice of the Beeb to give this organisation some free publicity.

Unfortunately the sort of people that would attend a UK WW2 veteran’s funeral don’t match the BBC’s vision of ‘multicultural’ Britain so the BBC needs to lead with the ‘right’ sort of picture, even if it has to be one imported from the USA.

            Great catch there pounce/stewart etal.
This picture clearly exhibits what the BBC would like to have seen in Lytham…multiculti, gender-inclusive and full of stuffed puffed shirts with nice uniforms.
No disrespect to these US folks…but this was WW2, happened on the day after Remembrance Sunday and not a US soldier was in sight as far as the pictures showed(from reputable sources like Sky, Mail etc).
The BBC are just so evil and creepy these days that they`d slip this one by us…media massaging 24/7.
Hope they`ve breached copyright or US security guidelines…and somebody takes them to court for contempt.
Which is what the BBC have shown the ex-serviceman…and show to us all, and all the time.
Did Snowdon or Greenwald supply this picture?…why else would the BBC flag it up?

        • There is absolutely no reason for this article to be on the BBC. There is no explanation for why it is there. There was no point of reference. It’s about a Somali living in Norway for crying out loud. What relevance has this article to anything about anything. I’d expect that sort of thing from Stasi Germany, Nazi Germany and North Korea. It is sick political propaganda wrapped up as a children’s cartoon. Frightening.

Interesting too that the BBC has resorted to the medium of cartooning to illustrate peaceful co-existence and harmony, when things can on occasion go a smidge astray if the wrong characters are felt by some to be incorporated.

      Oh thanks for this.
      Our BBC eh?
      Well let`s see about that.
      1. I do hope that the family were taken out in the school holidays to return to Somalia….and that the girls were still intact when they returned and without seedy old blokes as husbands…if indeed they returned at all.
      2. I hope too that the family chose the greener option to take an eco-friendly dhow along the Somali shore, as opposed to an anonymous, western eco-trashing thing like a plane. Surely a chance to meet joyful enriching pirates offering surfing lessons and a chance to live out the Jack Sparrow romantic idyll.
      3. Did our family enrich their experience by hopping over that border to Kenya for a little “retail therapy”?…is Whitegate back to normal now, or are those security suits screwing up in the car park again?…Al Shabab surely have the right to buy fireworks don`t they?
      4. Let`s hope that those kids of theirs managed not to become a Tracy Beaker story….in which case, we`d have a series of Uncle Omars and clans making a beeline to the care home between Friday prayers and the taxi rank turning off the only street lights in the f***in area.
That`s the BBCs problem…they don`t give us the full story, or feel able to extrapolate…think they`d let me draw the above sketches?…or am I not to do cartoons of Islam wahtsoever?
      Need I ask?

I found his explanation of the fear of Islam scary and accurate. Muslims are the most loyal people in the UK according to the left. Currently there is a court case over how 2 Pakistani men decided to threaten an aircraft while in the air. Reading the bBC version all you get is:
Tayyab Subhani, 30, of Townley Street, and Mohammed Safdar, 42, of Hallam Crescent, Nelson, Lancashire, deny endangering the safety of an aircraft. The court heard neither was a “terrorist” or “extremist”.

The defendants told police the allegations were lies and members of the cabin crew had encouraged passengers to corroborate the story.
Here are two photos of the men, the first arriving at court, the latter leaving can you spot the difference.

I notice another article today on the BBC Magazine webpage.
Are there really 100,000 new Christian martyrs every year?

It starts off with a promising start:
It’s often claimed that 100,000 Christians are killed every year because of their religion. Earlier this year, the Vatican called it a credible number. But is it?

Gunmen on motorcycles kill three people when they open fire on a wedding outside a Coptic Christian church in Cairo. A twin-suicide bombing outside a church in Pakistan kills at least 75 people.

These two recent headline-grabbing attacks occurred within just a month of each other. Horrific, but by no means isolated incidents.

So how widespread is anti-Christian violence?

And that’s where the promise ends. It then goes on to show that the figures claimed are far less than that because many of the conflicts where Christians are killed have nothing to do with religion.

As we all know the BBC goes to great lengths to avoid telling the public when it does. The 2 they mention above just happen to be the few they do. You’d think that while they were on the subject they might have mentioned Nigeria, Syria, and the many others in Egypt.

So in the middle the author of this drivel, Ruth Alexander, can triumphantly point out:- This means we can say right away that the internet rumours of Muslims being behind the killing of 100,000 Christian martyrs are nonsense.

What about the thousands that they are behind? Clearly we should not concern ourselves with that from the BBC perspective.

At the end of the article we are told:-“The truth is two thirds of the 2.3 billion Christians in the world today live… in dangerous neighbourhoods. They are often poor. They often belong to ethnic, linguistic and cultural minorities. And they are often at risk.

It’s the neighbourhoods they live in that puts them at risk – nothing to do with religion – move on.

Now for real news about what’s been happening in the Christian world as a direct result of Muslim persecution here’s Raymond Ibrahim with his most recent – the August 2013 account.

How many of these stories have you found on the BBC website? Considering they have journalists in most of these countries, it’s not that they’re unaware of it – it just doesn’t fit their agenda.

Rubbishing claims of Muslim persecution against Christians is part of their agenda.

Poor minorities at risk are they?

Looking forward to that “poor minority” excuse being used when gays, disabled, women and others feel the hot fetid breath of triumphalist Islam…that we Christians have not slaughtered poor marginal minorities alongside us in this country won`t be reason enough for the BBC to bother to count us either, come that day.
The BBC stiffies will be working for Al Jazeera by then anyhow.
