The BBC a self perpetuating creator of left wing bias?

I’m afraid this latest insight had come from reading another web site concerning how comedians attempt to publicise themselves by attending left wing demonstrations, benefits gigs, strikes etc etc.

Knowing that the BBC will be giving publicity to these activities it seems that people who have as much belief in left wing politics as I have, are ‘forced’ to spout this rubbish in order to be noticed and to gain publicity from the BBC, ever ready to push the crap into peoples homes.

The particular benefit gig referred to was the ‘Merseyside dockers benefit’ chaired at the launch by Lee Hurst.

    Here’s a short excerpt:

” The problem for us liberal comedians is how to handle our guilt. Yet, fortunately, there is a mechanism that allows us to dip our toes into the political paddling pool: the benefit show. Politics as charity.

You can dip the toe in, but remain politically wet all over. During the arrangements for a benefit for the Merseyside dockers one comic said to me: ‘I’m quite happy to support these people, Ivor, but I do wish they’d stop calling me Comrade.’ The other attraction of the benefit show is that it can do good things for your career, and often the least important thing is the worthiness of the cause. One comic (I swear I can’t remember who) told me that they were determined to get in on ‘that Nicaragua benefit’ because they’d always cared a lot about Africa . ”

“During the short speeches from the dockers, the younger comics became a little uncomfortable as words like ‘scab’ and ‘shop steward’ were bandied about like a language from a bygone age. But the prospect for the younger contingent of appearing at the Palladium with the whole thing getting national television coverage wasn’t to be sniffed at. The meeting was the church service you sit through as the price for going on the Sunday School outing. ”

“A few seats away, Mark Borkowski, the public relations guru handling the benefit [ ] He had after all, we’ve been told, joined the revolutionary struggle for ‘expenses only’. ”

It’s not just comics this applies to, it’s all about appearing at the gigs which the BBC wants to cover, and that means saying the right words whether you believe them or not.
After this it matter little that a performer has no real political ideas, the fact he or she utters them is enough.

If this is one of the routes to ‘stardom’ then it’s no surprise that so many artists appear to come from the left, after all if in their early years they don’t, then their chances of success will be so compromised that the BBC won’t notice them – hence the lack of anything other than far left comedians.

Here’s a link to the web page which for me, let the cat out of the bag.

  2. Doublethinker says:

Even the BBC presenter on the Daily Politics seemed a little disconcerted when some Labour MP, no doubt with a lot of ex miners in his constituency, was interviewed about wanting the Conservatives to apologise for the Miners Strike in 1984.
All these calls to apologise for this and for that are crackers. But if anyone should aplogise for the miners strike, its Arthur Scargill ,who should aplogise for trying to use the miners to overthrow a democratically elected government . The NUM had managed this in the seventies with Heath in Number 10 who turned tail and caved in. But they more than met their match with Lady Thatcher who gave them a good beating on behalf of the rest of us who believed in democracy and not mob rule by left wing fanatics.
I have no doubt that the BBC will try to keep this story running because its anti Thatcher, anti Tory , pro Labour and plays to their notion that the miners were the vanguard of an oppressed working class. I lived in a mining area and can tell them that this is just sentimental ill informed rubbish.

Wasn`t it the unions that killed a taxi driver by dropping a lump of concrete onto his car in 1984?
Any chance of Scargill apologising for that?
Let alone some ex mining clod with nothing to say about 2014 and his partys role in the “crisis” that they caused.

“UK: Jihad murderer of Lee Rigby appeals conviction, says he was acting as a ‘soldier of Allah’”

    By Robert Spencer.

    [Excerpt]:-

“Michael Adebolajo’s Muslim name is Mujaahid Abu Hamza. The BBC doesn’t use it because it wants to obscure the fact that this was an act of Islamic jihad, motivated by the Islamic texts and teachings that jihadists like Mujaahid Abu Hamza invoke to justify violence. In fact, Mujaahid Abu Hamza referred specifically to the ninth chapter of the Qur’an in explaining his murder right after her did it, his hands crimsoned with Lee Rigby’s blood. But now that Britain is in full capitulation to Sharia mode, banning opponents of jihad terror such as Pamela Geller and me from the country under pressure from Islamic supremacist and Leftist smear groups, and censoring images that may offend Muslims, in accord with Sharia rules and sensibilities, why are they prosecuting Mujaahid Abu Hamza at all? If they were consistent, British authorities would let him out of prison and give him a medal.”

Probably after I complained about them using it !

The name means ‘the noble lion of Jihad’ and the fact that he has not changed his name by any legal method means it should not be used.

It seems the BBC can’t get it right being damned if it does & damned if it doesn’t

Wow the 5 O’clock news really has the knives out tonight!

First up is some guy from the Spectator talking about the immigration bill and suggestion the Tory party is at war with itself – again. No one was able to put the opposite view

Then there’s the Dieudonne piece which works very hard to absolve the ‘quenelle’ and Nicholas Anelka, and then at 8 O’clock tonight there’s a whole program devoted to it.

Then – “Labour says we’re in a cost of living crisis.” With the far left ‘more or less’ on how the Labour statistics are more reliable than the Tory ones which include a ‘spike’.

And so it goes on !

And now it’s the sharing economy Evan Davies the Bottom line, following the far left white wash of Dieudonne at 8.00pm

And then it’s on to Sesame street which is apparently US propaganda and being sold to countries like Palestine & Pakistan. As they ask a producer about US influence and she assures them there isn’t any they cut to one of the puppets raucous laughter.

I see the BBC are up to their old immigration subtle indoctrination lies again. Six News – an utterly pathetic and infantile report which basically amounted to the following: ‘Romanian and Bulgarian immigration…. What immigration? We can’t see any, and we’ve even asked local Polish and Latvian immigrants working as fruit pickers in the south east of England.
Well, I’ll tell you all this for nothing. I’ve noticed quite a few Romanians begging and playing accordion on the streets where I live…. perhaps the BBC are looking in the wrong places.

The BBC does have a bit of a history of not finding what they don’t feel the urge to seek.
It’s like a research version of Editorial by Omission, matched only by the pre-pro inability to find any counter arguments to those packing their iPhone address books, who can be swanned onto a sofa merely by hitting redial.

As I recall, ‘not wasting’ is in theory high on the BBC Trust oversight remit. That sounds like an extraordinarily poor targetting record.
And more like spraying sh*t around like a good ‘un & hoping some may stick is closer the mark. Speaking of 25 millions…

Littlewood is from the IEA these days, so may well be the only Tory there.
Certainly more of one that Ken “Davros” Clarke.
History will judge him and Heseltine as the Bastard and Bollox that condemned Conservatives to its pitiful cringing state, in our lifetimes.

Oh, dear, the US Government is seeking the death penalty for the surviving Boston Bomber. The BBC has put up a brief report on it, although I certainly can’t infer that it was written through clenched teeth. Time to wheel out another BBC Magazine piece or similar hand-wringing over the death penalty, I guess.

I’m so glad to hear that they’re pressing for this vermin to be exterminated. The Brits and the Americans are brethren: we’re cousins, and any attack on you guys is an attack on us, in my patriotic opinion. If this vile piece of worm-ridden filth rides the lightening, I want front row with hotdog and mustard.

Newsnight is using one of its Guardian journalist stooges to interview the very recently found guilty again: Amanda Knox. It looks very sympathetic.

I’m not sure where they’re going with this. Do they have something that negates the Italian verdict?

Good God. QT tonight (still watching it). Countless claims from the assembled fellow-travellers that something nebulously called ‘climate change’ is somehow (and without any evidence) ‘clearly responsible’ for the flooding in Somerset. Not a whiff of doubt, nor criticism, and certainly no attempt to ask for proof to back up such idiocy, just an unremarked description of Owen Paterson (Con, Environment Minister) as a ‘climate denier’.

The BBC, in a nutshell, folks.

London’s fine example of “enrichment” spreads throughout the land… According to the Metropolitan Police as reported by the BBC website (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-25974360) some 54 London gangs have extended their criminal activities into other British cities. Of course, there is zero information about the people who make up these gangs, so perhaps we’re supposed to think they are the descendants of lovable rogues Ronnie & Reggie. Maybe there are some clues in the Met’s galleries of wanted suspects for South London (http://content.met.police.uk/cs/Satellite?c=MPSContent_C&cid=1400019282329&pagename=MPS_CMS_Internet%2FMPSLayout), North London (http://content.met.police.uk/cs/Satellite?c=MPSContent_C&cid=1400019352504&pagename=MPS_CMS_Internet%2FMPSLayout) or in their Robbery gallery (http://content.met.police.uk/cs/Satellite?c=MPSContent_C&cid=1400017474382&pagename=MPS_CMS_Internet%2FMPSLayout). Still, nothing for BBC types and politicos to worry about from the safety of their closeted and gated communities.
