WEEKEND OPEN THREAD

Given the BBC’s current pro-Hamastan viewpoint and it’s hysteria over the Commonwealth Games, and the prevailing good weather, I have cut back on my consumption of bias but extend an offer for you to detail what you see here!

  1. Can you believe that a bunch of weirdos have set up camp in the grounds of BBC Bristol to complain of the Beeb’s “biased pro Israel” coverage of the Gaza situation!

As my old grandad used to say They aint all locked up yet.

seems to be a slight disparage in reporting, it appears
    there s no room for
“British Jews are suffering an anti-Semitic backlash”
but acres of space for this :-

BBC – London rally will ‘boost morale of Palestinians in Gaza’
    26 July 2014 … ? bias?

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign UK is holding a rally in central London to protest about Israel’s offensive in Gaza.
The group said about 15,000 people had gathered,(and they’ve lied about that, 6000) – outside the Israeli Embassy in Kensington before marching to Parliament Square.,
(the ahem … the million man march?)

BBC – Keith Doyle spoke to one Palestinian protester who said he was worried about his family in Gaza.
BBC – Gaza conflict: Berlin protests show dividing lines
BBC – Israel resumes Gaza offensive Smoke rises above Gaza City
BBC- Israel says it is resuming military operations in Gaza as Hamas militants continue to fire rockets into Israel after rejecting a limited truce.
BBC – Bodies recovered amid ceasefire
BBC – smell of destruction’ in Gaza air
BBC – ‘Stop the loss of life’

BBC Online: Palestinian militant group Hamas has announced a 24-hour ceasefire after Israel ended an earlier truce amid continuing rocket fire from Gaza.

Israel did NOT end the truce. Hamas ended the truce by firing rockets. The bias is everywhere. They must be shut down.

      Got a link for that?
Because I would really like to hear their explanation for such a claim, preferably not FOI exempted.
As you say, Hamas having broken the truce, Israel merely returned to addressing the aggression.
Words matter. The BBC seems to be doing all in its power to skew them, but this seems to cross a serious line even for them.

Palestinian militant group Hamas has announced a 24-hour ceasefire after Israel ended an earlier truce amid continuing rocket fire from Gaza.
        Note also the picture caption:
Israel launched new raids on Gaza after Hamas initially rejected a humanitarian truce
Presumably not worth clarifying upfront that this rejection was via the medium of renewed rocket attack?
Be interesting if this story gets ‘evolved’ soon.

“…Israel launched new raids on Gaza after Hamas initially rejected a humanitarian truce…”

The most chilling thing about that is how some BBC common purpose troll with a clear agenda had to sit down and carefully think through how best to ‘report’ the ‘news’ without actually reporting the news – or at the very least burying the facts so deep in obfuscation and misinformation as to render the truth redundant.

The BBC is a total disgrace.

BBC – Israeli report criticises PM Netanyahu over Gaza flotilla
BBC – Q&A: Israeli deadly raid on aid flotilla
BBC – ICC launches inquiry into Israeli raid on Gaza flotilla
BBC – Gaza flotilla: Turkey ‘to take Israel to UN court’
and loads more in between …
All over the Jew hating jihadi s of the “Free Gaza”, Flotilla, that tried to deceive all that it was delivering medical supplies,(that happened to be all out of date ).

Well folks, just like the bad smell from something rotten, they re due to return … this time with troops?

they re Jew haters too, they are Islamic after all.

        Ah… Jon Snow…
At least this segues neatly to what I confess is an OT, but as this is dee rigger at the weekend I hope I am allowed. At least it’s still on matters media and not who has dissed who in the BBBC girl’s locker room.
But this email from Ch4 did make me chuckle…
Hello there. Jackie Long here with a look ahead to this evening’s programme at 6.30pm. We have Paul Mason in Gaza and that’s where it will all start this evening.
One is sure it will. If only she’d used ‘kicking off’ instead of ‘start’, and it would have been perfect. Our Paul was predestined to be the voice of Gaza.
Meanwhile in other OT media news, the BBC’s go-to gob-for-hire has spoke, and will doubtless grace our screens for days to come:

        John Prescott @johnprescott
Israel’s bombardment of Gaza is a war crime – and it must end mirror.co.uk/news/world-new… #GazaUnderAttack
I wonder if he got legal advice on what is and isn’t various geopolitical thingies from the same guys who advised him and Tone back in the day?
The cretin actually falls back on proportionality, which surely makes him a shoo-in for Mishal to bat around a few acceptable losses with, so that quaint notion of balance can be spun enabling the single brain-cell brigade to feel comfy again.
This country really was run (and looks set to return, not that the current batch are much better) by brain donors of this calibre?

My first question, which is probably on the minds of over 70% of the people of Great Britain?
When is the Prime Minister actually going to do something about the vast amounts of immigrants or ‘migrants’,(however they are camouflaged these days), that are flooding in to our country?

Might be worth running that name and single liner past the BBC modding rule guidelines to see just what would get it obliterated and the author’s account terminated.
Though they have been known to make exceptions if the BBC likes what is being said. Or the account is internal.

The strangest program about the Kurds was on Radio 4.

The presenter admitted that he didn’t know much about the Kurds before he visited them, but he made the assumption they were all Muslims (they aren’t).

Then he went onto a piece about Saddam Hussein following a text in the Qur’an about being able to seize the land and possessions of conquered ‘infidels’.

No attempt was made to explain the Quranic verses, nor why people who had been portrayed throughout as Muslims were in fact ‘infidels’.

It’s the usual Islamophilic BBC unable to explore the dark side of Islam.

The main headline in todays Sunday Times is about Clegg demanding Russia be deprived of holding the World Cup.
Except that this is only the case if you read the BBC reviews of Sunday papers, using the red button on the TV; in fact the main headline and storey in the ST is about the 100+plus attacks on Jews in the UK, with comments about the increased anti-Semitic violence in other EU countries. Strange the BBC didn’t report that!
I then went onto the BBC regional news, checking each area or city ,e.g. Manchester, where the ST reported individual cases of verbal abuse and violence against Jews and Synagogues…not a mention!
    Should I be surprised?

    What is the BBC for?

Well, this morning BBC man Norman Smith uses his access to our airwaves so as to present Greenpeace ‘research’ to try to drive a wedge between Conservative MPs, our precarious energy supply (forget all that ‘cost of energy crisis’ – that was so last winter) and the fracking-shy munsnet brigade of the south of England.

And I’m supposed to be pleased that all this confusion and dissension is sown by the BBC.
