QT last night……….Sturgeon’s face when Duncan Ballantyne said he hoped the SNP would not gain any power in the upcoming election was an absolute classic. I’m sure someone more computer literate than me will screen grab the image…………she was fantastically schooled by Tarzan in everything she attempted………’the Tories, the Tories, the Tories……….Most vulnerable in society………tax dodging millionaires…..blah blah blah’
Vile, disgusting woman.
Sturgeon came across as the spiteful, petty little champagne socialist that she is. A stateswoman she certainly is not. Didn’t see all of QT but enjoyed her getting a drubbing about defence policy. She really was out of her depth trying to discuss the most important function of government. Duncan Ballantyne made a very good comment about defence spending paraphrased as it doesn’t matter if you spend money on troops or weapons that you never use, they will always be there when needed and at worst all you have done is provide a lot of jobs.
saw a bit about her on Newsnight and she is absolutely vulgar. Arrogant and clueless of the realities of life outside of her SNP bubble…I truly hope that nasty party doesn’t hold the balance of power after the next election as her ridiculous sums just don’t add up and even the presenter on NN was telling her that
And not a single one of these fans is a white Englishman, even though anyone who lives in the real world knows they’re subjected to racism regularly as well.
Nothing like documenting racism by being selective about which races to document.
The BBC should be impeached for inciting racial hatred.
Noteworthy that most of them also said that they had not experienced any problems; you are, of course, far more likely to run into problems for supporting the wrong team than being the wrong colour. You’re slipping up here, BBC – more victims needed!
“we might call this prejudice Ukiphobia, a swirling fear, not simply of Farage and his footsoldiers, but more urgently of the incomprehensible blob of non-Guardian-reading, pale-skinned plebs whose passions and worries Farage and Co. might tap into.”
I’m surprised the good folk on this forum are not talking about why it is that the BBC have been borrowing money from councils? Why would they be doing that? What councils have they borrowed from? What was the interest rate payable? What was the money used for? What was the breakdown of political party councils the BBC borrowed from? Were the councils who lent the money tied to the Financial Services Act? Did the councils pay tax on the interest? Did the BBC pay any interest on the borrowed money? etc etc etc.
Sad to see the aforementioned white guilt article about how football is riddled with racists as far as the eye can’t see (to paraphrase Charlie Brooker, another of the BBC’s institutional self-loathers) has been swallowed up hook, line and sinker by its gullible HYS apologists. They’ve downvoted every comment pointing out the double standard and bias, yet amazingly they’ve upvoted comments about how unintelligent and racist the British are (which is itself a racist statement, of course). It’s impossible to get any sense of balance or a viable discussion going with such a blatant manipulation of the comments, so I reckon it’s about time we redress the balance somewhat. Let’s also inform the moderators of the abusive comments being posted about the English, see whether they’re as censorship-happy when it’s our ethnicity being attacked rather than a minority.
Apologies to you for my repetition – if you did happen to read the back end of the former Open Thread – but I think this is an important point.
‘…there MUST be a bias there…’
or so the BBC tells us about the Oscars
Bright and early this morning BBC tv takes us to Holywood for the preparations for the Oscars 2015. Our reporter is most keen to tell us all about the age and gender make-up of the movie Academy judges. Facts and figures come thick and fast and we learn the average age is sixty-something and they are mostly guys.
Ahhh! The BBC howls, these old film buffers must obviously prefer movies ‘which represent themselves…. There must be bias there’
Strange isn’t it, whenever the bourgeois metropolitan Oxbridge liberal-arts elite lefties who run the BBC are challenged about their own biases they always insist it ain’t so.
The movie “Selma” is sinking without trace in the U.S. – if you look at the viewing statistics ( I saw them a couple of weeks ago on a U.S. site but unfortunately I forget which one or I would have referenced it) the film isn’t even tempting the majority of black people into the cinemas to see it. Some of the more switched on reviewers – not the sycophantic ones keen to display their anti-racist credentials – have accused the film of being historically inaccurate agitprop produced by the well known race-baiter and billionaire Oprah Winfrey. There are even some who knew Martin Luther King who said he would have disassociated himself from the film because of the liberties the screenwriter has taken with the facts.
Note that the BBC on TV – Radio this morning, wheeling out the same, clueless, irritating voice on, “fighting extremism”, after another wannabe mass murderer, is caught with a large knife and hammers, a black jihadi flag, wanting to behead a soldier …
within weeks of converting to …… “there are just so many different factors to consider”
so lets list the bullet points
A/. inspired by? ……. “those who killed Lee Rigby?”
B/. turned wannabe murderer because? …… “he came from a religion that already hadan exclusivist character”
C/. so violent because? …… Its thought he had a criminal erm …… tendency
D/. so quickly turned to wannabe mass murderer because? …….
a pattern of factors, around his community were so similar psychologically, to the new … community he joined that aided his
mindset to turn to a mass murderer.
(this previous community getting so much blame for destroying
him psychologically, so he could be a rampant beheader at a moments notice … the Jehovah Witnesses).
E/. Nothing to do with the peaceful religion that he converted to?
because being a new convert has never been shown to produce any
extremism in Islam then, obviously.
You literally could not make it up, clueless, dangerously naïve, and regurgitated wholesale by the BBC.
an example … 2hrs 50min http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0528s1y
The more formal term is usually ‘editorial by omission or, on occasion, more kindly, ‘professional incompetence’, but again that selective institutional Alzheimers that pervades the market rate floors can strike editorial all too often.
The caption is a classic of wind spin: ‘the project could produce enough energy to power up to 2 million homes’
The author has kindly crunched some actual numbers on that ‘could’ and where reality lies between one home and 2 million. And when this ‘may’ be relied upon.
There is also the small matter of the operational factors, as 25 years in an aggressive salt water environment less than easy to service may degrade steel structures and complex gear boxes more quickly than ROI calculations ‘may’ hope.
There is also the small matter of the operational factors, as 25 years in an aggressive salt water environment less than easy to service may degrade steel structures and complex gear boxes more quickly than ROI calculations ‘may’ hope.
I think I’ve read that’s already evident. An ‘estimated’ life of forty years has been re-assessed to fifteen years. Of course, we know the original fanciful forty would just have been calculated by extrapolating backwards what was need to make a case for cost-effectiveness.
After we’ve allowed for all the unforeseen extra costs due to weather, vibration, etc., we need to ask – what happens at the end of their lives, when all the subsidies have been milked? Who will pick up the tab for the costly removal? I’d guess ‘Exciting New Green Energy Inc’ will mysteriously go bankrupt but will re-appear, with no debts, next day as ‘New Exciting Green energy Inc’. The BBC will gush about how wonderful a hundred jobs have been saved – minimum wage and minus pension, of course. And the taxpayer will payer leaden-footed government employees vast sums to clear the sites.
The BBC is always keen to make connections, so if it can spare a few staff from walking the streets of Chelsea with face recognition software, they might look into this?
I wonder if anybody listened to “In Our Time” on Radio 4 yesterday at 9 am. Melvyn Bragg and guests discussing Adam Smith Wealth of Nations. Must admit I couldn’t face it but just curious if it was as bad as I expected it to be
.
I’ll come out as liking ‘In Our Time’. It’s what the BBC should do more of. Listen to the programme on Foxe’s Book of Martyrs for instance, which is very non Beeb in its accuracy and fairness. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00vy2dd
Melvyn Bragg in one of the best intellects on the radio, maybe the best.
fwiw I also enjoy ‘The Long View’ and ‘More or Less’. I despise ‘Today’.
Populus has released its latest poll:
• Labour 32 (-1)
• Conservative 31 (-)
• UKIP 17 (+2)
• Liberal Democrats 9 (-1)
• Others 12 (+1)
The fieldwork saw 2,011 people questioned on Wednesday and Thursday this week, Patrick O’Flynn, UKIP MEP and the party’s candidate in Cambridge, points out this is UKIP’s best performance in a Populus poll.
I’m not really understanding these Opinion Polls to be honest, well those bits that surround the LibDems at any rate. Another poll out this morning suggested that they were up 2% on the last poll… questions:
1. How can LibDems be going up in the polls at all, given that they have been virtually invisible since Xmas, and any comment about them is almost always negative, and
2. In all recent bye-elections they have not managed to get more than 2% of the vote so how can they be polling 8 or 9% as we are told?
Equally, how can Labour possibly be rock solid at 32% given their current status. Beats me, but I guess it is all in the background analysis.
BBC London this morning hosted Nikki Bedi standing in for Venessa Feltz.
The discussion was on the reason that young muslims become radicalised, referencing Brusthom Ziamani the teenager found guilty of a plot to behead a soldier in Britain.
Quite apart from the horrible anti Israel venom that Nikki seemed content to allow from some of her callers. there is the issue of her referring to those who convert to Islam to be called reverts. Why would a non Muslim call a convert to Islam a revert?
That term implies a Muslim concept that everyone and everything in the World belongs to Allah and so conversion is actually a reversion to the natural state of being a Muslim. Why does Nikki Bedi use this term for a convert to Islam?
BBC5Live was worse. BBC on Radio and Tv was. all ears to ….
an appalling Senior Lecturer in Religion, & Political Radicalisation, Islam s political mobilisation in Europe …
sheesh! with a title like that, you d think she could put 2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2 together at least once! wouldn t you?.
Anyway …all of this apologist garbage, is not likely to de-radicalise one toe of my hamster, never mind someone driven by very clear instruction in Islam s little book of hate.
A new convert is likely to be told it is literally the word of … Allah!, and to follow its instruction as it is the guide, its instruction is eternal.
“Verse (47:4) – English Translation
when ye meet the Unbelievers smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly on them”.
(must mean, metaphorically? … maybe in Allah s sandpit? …
maybe just to really, really wish for it, pray for it, smile quietly if someone else does it, but deny openly if anyone speaks about it
… something like that).
The BBC shows it’s clear bias by describing him as a ‘teenager’ plotting to behead a ‘soldier’. He is 19, so yes a teenager, but also an adult older than many serving soldiers, and he was researching army cadet bases.
So rather than a ‘teenager plotting to behead a soldier’ this was a ‘muslim man plotting to behead an army cadet’.
As if that headline would ever see the light of day?
Think the word she was searching for was “pervert”.
Maybe if she puts it in the corner of a childrens home, then the Muslim gentlemen will translate into Classical Arabic…
Our local news last night (Look North) had an item about the number of young people who have had their benefits stopped (sanctioned) because they had infringed the rules for their Job Seekers Allowance. The item was not about the reasons they have infringed their responsibilities but how wicked the Job Centres were. Now the person they interviewed about the wickedness was Owen Jones. He is not from this area, has no connection that I know of to this area (he was interviewed from the London studio) but he was given ample time to produce unsubstantiated tales of poor kids who have had their benefits stopped but no checks on his accuracy.
Owen Jones – the middle class lefty who has never done a proper days work in his entire privileged life. How can he have the authority to talk on this subject? Oh yeah I forget he does “research” for books….give me strength and Guido had a bit the other day about Anne Diamond’s son getting on Sky News preaching about how we should be paying more income tax when he is a student and doesn’t pay any. It is difficult not to get angry with these people at times
There were plenty of the Owen Jones brand of tedious, opinionated, lefty at my school. Most of them keen to be seen carrying a copy of the Morning Star whilst enjoying the privileges that having a Daddy who works in the City can bring. Troublemaking idiots the lot of them.
Sixth Form was the worst – everyone became socialist worker types when they were all very middle class. One of the worst offenders had two teachers for parents with three houses that they rented out to students in university towns so they had their own property empire going…par for the course as they were as lefty as him
I remember the pillocks in the common room with The Guardian tucked under their arms, screaming (yes, literally) that communism was the way forward. This was back in the late 80s when – oh – communism collapsed.
Boy Owen is speaking on immigration at the UAF Conference at TUC Congress Hall this weekend, along with Emily Thornberry, Ken Livingstone, the Duggans, oppressed Muslims, Jews and Gays. Worth noting that there is no planned demonstration to deny them a platform
Little Comrade Jones in Venezuela, talkin ’bout a revolution with various other upstanding members of society like Diane Abbott and Sinn Fein MP Conor Murphy.
Note he has deliberately messed up his hair…..to give him street cred no doubt to the tossers in the audience. And , er, Jones, yes, immigrants are a major cause of wage suppression, lack of housing, etc….Twat.
If OJ Simpleton doesn’t remind you of Hugh Laurie’s student to Stephen Fry’s headmaster, then I don’t know what’s wrong with you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X3BJIAgkM8
I don’t care who y’are, that’s funny, right there…
I remember one of these cunts when I Was a postie in Wolves, every Friday hanging outside trying to flog the party rag, ignored by everyone. Turned up when we were on strike ( don’t ask ) trying to get us to join the peoples party, didn’t like it when I told her to fuck off back to the Uni with her middle class pals ” you’re anti the people” …….”I am the fucking people love, piss off”
Probably because it is so difficult to find a working class northerner who would disagree with the policy.
I live in a northern working class area and the people I chat with require no prompting from me before they spill forth with their opinions about benefit claimants, believe me.
Give it time to develop…. It will end up being about how the UK authorities outrageously did nothing to prevent these poor innocent dears going. Evan Davis and Jon Snow will interview angry Islamists.
A male recently got a heavy sentence, even though his family tried to drag him back – will the females do time?
And Harriet Harman will propose a private members bill to make the government legally responsible for ensuing that under-18’s don’t get radicalised.
Judging by this Twitter exchange with fellow Beeboid Julia Macfarlane it would appear that BBC Newshour’s Nigel Henry Doran is not your typical BBC journo:
Shamima Begum 15, Kadiza Sultana 16, and unnamed 15yo (Bethnal Green Academy) flew to Turkey during half-term break http://t.co/UE0WUynvwl
Viv a name like Nigel, dis sub human vermin is probably related to Farage. In order to put BBC party comrades minds at rest, all i can say is, he may be laughing now, he vont be soon
Anyone hear former MI5 bloke Richard Barrett on R4 ‘Toady’ this morning say of the about-to-be-beheader just found guilty, “This is just teenage angst. A couple of generations ago, they would have put a brick through a window, now they run off and join Islamic State”.
He then said the most interesting thing he’d heard about how to deal with this is “that nobody knows how to deal with it”.
Great stuff, and right up Al-Beeb’s street…I can’t remember who the interviewer was, might have been Humphries.
Today the BBC want to tell me ‘how to be a bad girl in India’ or should that be ‘how NOT to be a bad girl in India’ ???
You see these satirical cartoons concerning foreign culture have well and truly got the BBC seal of approval… and yet, and yet… Newsniffer reveals the Beeb got just a tad confused between versions.
Patients face fines on free scripts http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-31537381
Heartless Tory bastards! Oh, hang on…
So; a non-story, then. Seems perfectly fair to me that if you get free stuff then you should periodically confirm your entitlement to it. If someone is too ignorant or lazy to renew their certificate then sorry, why’s that someone else’s (i.e. the taxpayer’s) problem? I’m pretty certain that on digging deeper then it’ll be found that fines are not imposed without some notice giving people time to explain and/or rectify the situation. Oh and hang on; tucked away in there it says “The system changed in 2002 and a new medical exemption certificate that needed renewing every five years was introduced.” Which means that it wasn’t the hated bastard vicious unfeeling Tories (spit) at all that introduced it in order to heartlessly victimise those who dare to be unwell on their watch. Now, who was in power at that time? Hmm..
Owen pipsqueak Jones…In my top 3 as most punchable person along with Balls and Abbot, how many times will we have to suffer seeing him from now to May 7th.
Good list of punchables. IMHO, Andy Burnham, Wee Nichola Crankie and that mad Aussie woman who wants to take us back to the stone age must be somewhere close in line.
The quoted section is from the FaceBook page, which links to the story. The former still has comments.
A quick sample on a few issues:
James Gordon How to spot BBC western propaganda?
Alex Boyle Sensationalism – is the BBC being run by Fox news now? What’s in it for the Beeb to publish this kind of tripe? Are we all supposed to be living in fear?
Jamal Hamid “Not to scale”….just in case!
Usually BBC Facebook comments can be testing, ranging from tribal warfare to lonely hearts to car deals, but I warm to these.
As I just popped back, there’s also this on our Incredible Journey Trio of Terrorist Totty (‘UK Girls’ in Beebspeek):
“We hope they have the courage to return now, back to their families who are so worried about them.” The teenage girls from London, who Metropolitan Police Service fear are heading to Syria.
Not going quite to narrative there either, truth be told.
‘Jennifer Farrell – So we have a 15 year old who may have an assumed name? How did she get the passport? Three of the them, two 15 and one 16 had enough money to fly to Turkey and access to passports without parental knowledge? There must be other adult involvement. How do they intend to get from to Turkey to what ever their destination is? Hmmm.
Questions that appear to have so far escaped a £4Bpa PR operation that pretends to be a ‘news’ medium.
The only Russian aircraft you would likely to see is the “Bear” . Its the only one with the range to fly round North Cape to probe our air defences . The others would need regular top ups, by AAR ,from tankers. If the others did appear, they would be flying potential attack missions on the UK . They would of flown across the Baltic, & would fly directly over Denmark . Hopefully Mrs Kinnock would have ordered The Royal Danish Airforce to scramble their F16`s, & shoot some of them down . Next stop would be the UKADR ( Air Defence Region) .The RAF Typhoons would then engage them & shoot them down , but then Nato would of declared a hostile incident, on its territory .
‘Blame the liberal left politicians and media for failing …
Way ahead of you, mate. Jezza, Jon… your ears burning?
Have to say that when folk got on high horses when Israel (what was one reason for its creation again?) offered passive sanctuary to those with some cause to actually be deemed a community living in fear, it seemed the biggest shark jump of logic I could imagine. What, how dare anyone opt out? Still, the licence fee seems to operate on a similar basis.
It’s also odd that large chunks of domestic diversity are so in fear of where they have been welcomed, the very notion of popping back to nuturing bosom of home gets fought tooth and nail with every penny legal aid can muster.
nobody can defend what happened in france the other day but have you noticed today that radio 5 live have been banging on all day about this incident in france involving these chelsea fans, anybody would think this that black guy getting on the metro was murdered by these chelsea fans the other day by the amount of hysterical coverage on the bbc and radio 5 live,i smell the whiff of a politacal agenda here by the bbc and radio 5 live.also, turn back 2 weeks when 5 million people marched in france defending free speech, the charlie hedbo journalists who was murdered by the islamists was acussed of racism because they depicted pictures of the prophet in there magazine,i do see alot of hypocrisy and double standards here by the bbc and other media outlets when it comes to racism as just the other day when a muslim teacher named as mahmudal chodhury was convicted in court of posting anti semetic remarks on his facebook account and even had a picture of adolf hitler on his profile page , complete zero coverage or moral outrage on the bbc or radio 5 live or by anti racist groups about this case compared to this incident involving chelsea fans in france, see the double standard and hypocrisy here by the bbc and the left……..http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11419645/Teacher-fined-for-posting-pro-Hitler-image-on-Facebook-aimed-at-Jews.html
It was always going to be the case Stuart. Rachel Burden practically creaming her knicks this morning and no let up tonight as the first interview with the lad is broadcast.
Seems Souleymane might be angling for a bit of financial recompense mind you having instructed Chelsea to contact his lawyers – hmmmmmmm.
If only the Beeb, Troy Townsend et al were brave enough in pursuing the perpetrators (and those that turned a blind eye) of the Rotherham child rapes.
But the child victims were white and English from working class backgrounds you see – so they come way, way, way down the “progressive” pecking order.
The BBC news radio is so full of two stories there s not much space for anything else.
The media orchestrated and driven frenzy over a guy who couldn t push his way on to a train, because of football idiots, (literally now on loop) … he s “advised ” 😀 … Chelsea to contact his lawyers.
and now
Stop the presses for 3 teenage wannabe Islamic mass murderers
BBC – Girls face ‘grave danger’ in Syria
BBC – Asymmetry of fear
BBC – May: UK ‘needs extremism strategy’
BBC – Three UK girls ‘heading to Syria’
BBC – CCTV of the three girls
BBC – Trio friends with fourth girl who travelled to Syria in December.
BBC – ‘Increasing concerns’
These three deserve nothing, their families, and school, and mosque network need to be objectively investigated immediately.
… The BBC and its ‘Increasing concerns’ ought to be elsewhere.
Islamic State has forced 1,500 Yazidis and Christians into sex slavery
Islamic State: “Great reward” for killing Coptic Christians
Islamic State to Christians: Convert to Islam, pay jizya, or die
Islamic State cites “grievances” in slaughter of 21 Copts
Islamic State: Children as young as five trained to fight and kill, repeat calls for murder of Western “infidels”
The News Quiz, Radio 4, 18.30 stardate 20/02/2015, David Cameron got it, the conservatives got it, Nick Clegg got it, UKIP got it. The Labour Party? Zippo, nilch, nada, ingenting, niente, niets, ekkert, nihil. Lefty crap as usual.
They did mock Stephen Fry and his new bride, though there was an audible gasp from the studio audience who did not expect the national treasure to be so lampooned.
FFS someone mentioned Stephen Fry’s “Wife”. You do realise that this will summon this sites sub-bridge-resident defender of the rich, powerful and omni-present Mr Fry – and remember anyone who disagrees with him (in a strictly non ad-hominem way) is a “hypocritical pseudonymous no-mark” and a “pathetic little man” so no doubt the News Quiz team will be firmly put in their places!
BBC R4 PM news headline is sympathy for some ‘vulnerable’ teenage girls who are off to join ISIS.
These jihadi groupies are aroused by ISIS slaughter videos and do not deserve sympathy. Save your sympathy for the local muslims and others in Libya, Iraq and Syria who suffer at the hands of these harpies and their heroes.
I wonder what your previously easy going Syrian muslim makes of these foreign jihadists who have travelled thousands of miles to make his life a misery.
On PM with Eddie Mair I heard a beeboid reporter refer to them as ‘the three friends.’
Maybe a bit like Enid Blyton’s Julian, Dick and George, or possibly Tolkein’s Frodo, Sam and Pippin. Off on a slightly misguided little teenage quest perhaps.
“Scotland Yard is searching for these girls …
and the witless dhimmis assure us that the search is not about “criminalising people”.
It is about preventing tragedies by offering support to the young and vulnerable.”
Noted.
There is nothing criminal about traveling to join an outlaw state that has declared war against one’s country of origin … Of course not.
That would be “Islamophobic.”
R Spencer
“Three missing London schoolgirls ‘travelling to Syria to join Isil,’”Telegraph, Feb 20
One dearly hopes they meet a fitting fate, a Reaper drone strike would be a fitting fate, or taken prisoner by the Syrians or Kurds, although the latter will probably not entail the fate of similar Kurdish or Christian teenagers, I E, raped and murdered. Maybe the sight of their broken bodies will make their co – religionists think twice. Doubtful.
I see the bbc leads on this fantasy story at 10pm, obviously more important than Greece or the Ukraine.
Great gravitas from Rita…. ‘extremely vulnerable’. Had me reaching for a tissue. Er.. actually, the sick bag. They’re showing ‘most-wanted’ style mug-shots of the Chelsea idiots to demonise them, while glorifying these scumbags off to join Jihadi John.
They are getting worse, but that might be a good thing. People are on to them. Channel 4 did their worst on Monday, but UKIP today have their highest ever Populus poll ranking on polling done on Wednesday and Thursday. We can but hope.
Off you go little girls, enjoy the hols with ISIS. Make sure you have packed your lovely red dresses, the shariah boys will really appreciate it.
Not for the squeamish: Isis turds behead a woman for wearing a red coat
Just over a week now since those poor 21 Christians were beheaded by Islamic State psychopaths on a Libyan shoreline.
Oh-wait-the BBC said that the film “appeared to show”, “purported to show”, “seemed to show” or “allegedly showed”.
So-the blood frothing on the sea and the usual evil rituals were maybe “apparent”….the BBC certainly “seemed to hope so”.
How come then that this obvious atrocity-like all other IS evils are always “seeming or appearing to show”…whereas the incident of the Chelsea eejits on the Paris Metro doesn`t seem to merit these caveats allowed for IS.
Wonder why?
Full marks to the Guardian for persisting with the story of the murdered Argentinian prosecutor. Their solid coverage from an Argentinian crime journalist contrasts with the ‘nuanced’ output from Wyre Davies which, given it’s obscurity, is only a token effort anyway.
The protest is reported as 400,000 people. Surely newsworthy, even for the Beeb?
If only for them to break out that special telescope they have to point at marches, the end used depending on how big or small they want things to appear.
But lately on off narrative events they do seem to be moving from minimizing to ‘didn’t happen’, using the full might of that editorial integrity they keep tell folk they have.
Yes, record low in Chicago, record lows all over the USA, Siberian record lows and heavy snow in Istanbul closes roads and airports leaving 100’s stranded. Sun spot activity in Solar Cycle 24 is now proving lower than NASA had predicted and with the overall pattern of sunspot activity reducing since cycle 22 (1987-1997) is it no wonder that folk are warning of a mini ice age? I said on this forum a month ago, that we are likely to have a “coldest eva” year in the U.K. and you might have missed it but the met Office have already stated that the winter so far (Jan-Feb) is looking like it will be…not that you will here this on the Far Left leaning BBC, where the only mantra they can pedal is the myth of man made Co2 leading to Global Warming….utter tosh.
had the weekly roll out of the bishop of somewhere this morning back on the we are all doomed because plastic bags are clogging our seas – utter tosh then in the week on radio four there was some bloke had found a new breed of caterpillar in Iceland and that was proof indeed of Global warming
Yes, Bill Nye videos are still available in schools for the lazy supply teacher-or even lazier science teacher with his Guardian covering something that ought not to be visible.
The man is a retard out of a Devo audition…and he nicely sums up what happened to science in schools as Patrick Moore was dying, Magnus Pyke had gone, Heinz Wolf was retired and poor old David Bellamy and Johnny Ball was getting excised from the “conversations” for being global warming heretics.
Basically Nye is Al Gore with a Chemistry set, but without the electricity bills.
The Dick and Dom of Science these two-and we peddle this rubbish to our kids for 13 years.
No wonder the likes of Ian Fells are removed from where they might speak truths-hence we`ve got Russell Brand on fracking, Roger Harrabin, George Monbiot setting science policy.
I`d prefer George Michaels science input to the new science media houris…anybody seen Susan Watts lately?
At least she WAS a physicist!
From your brain;
“I said on this forum a month ago, that we are likely to have a “coldest eva” year in the U.K. and you might have missed it but the met Office have already stated that the winter so far (Jan-Feb) is looking like it will be”
From the Met Office;
The provisional UK mean temperature for January 2015 was 3.7 °C, which is 0.1 °C above the 1981-2010 long-term average. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/summaries/2015/january
And the same Met Office that told us 2014 was the hottest year on record by 0.02 deg C, when the margin for error on annual global temperature measurement is 0.1 deg C?
And are those real temperatures or ‘adjusted’ ones?
Then there’s this:
‘Newsbytes: “Dry Winter” Could the Met Office Have Been More Wrong?’
Back in February, Julia Slingo, the Met Office’s Chief Scientist, was reported by the BBC, when discussing the recent wet winter, as saying:
“The UK had seen the most exceptional period of rainfall in 248 years….
We have records going back to 1766 and we have nothing like this. We have seen some exceptional weather. We can’t say it is unprecedented but it is exceptional.
There was no definitive answer to what caused the storms, but all the evidence suggests there is a link to climate change”
I pointed out at the time that these statements simply were not supported by the data, and asked the Met Office to justify them. (Remember that this report was on 9th February, so she only had Dec/Jan data to go on). After three attempts on their part to sidetrack the issue, they have totally failed to back up these statements, other to to say in justification that she said “We can’t say it is unprecedented”.
Of course, nobody would say it was “unprecedented” as we only have records back to 1766, and therefore cannot know what happened before. The reality, though, is that in the records since 1766 there have been other years with even greater rainfall, whether measured over one, two, three or four month periods. Consistently, we find that the period of October 1929 to January 1930 stand out as much wetter than this winter, or any other similar periods in the records since 1910.
Contrast the obsessive Beeb coverage of the black man being kept off the Metro train; with the total absence of reporting about the intimidatory gathering of Mohammadans at the Cenotaph a fortnight since, on any of their radio or TV channels.
A bit like other establishment-‘managed’ stories I am trying to keep an open mind, but the deluge of platitude and pc-speek from police and gush-media conceals much currently not on the ‘questions to be asked’ table.
Like how they scored the funds and necessary documents with what seem like very hands-off family, from a culture where daughters usually seem highly prized and cosseted. Our family passports are in the safe.
Not sure the fears are being directed in entirely in the most appropriate directions. Or the investigative journalism.
And yet again, the social media response suggests such as the BBC are speaking at a nation who are telling them to stick it in response
Like how they scored the funds and necessary documents with what seem like very hands-off family, from a culture where daughters usually seem highly prized and cosseted. Our family passports are in the safe.
Excellent points. I mean its not as if these girls are likely to have been allowed to have a Saturday job and their own money, let alone a bank card to pay for the flights, and with the general level of supervision of daughters in Muslim families its incredible that they got away without a male relative.
Sometimes in this parish we are visited by a travelling band of trolls who delight in telling us that the BBC is not biased. Well; surely this story will have the majority of the population open-mouthed with incredulity.
The BBC continually butter-up teenagers to recruit them for the left. While teens continually live with older folk who tell them they lack experience of life, they see the Beeb promoting the ‘yoof parliament’ and campaigning for the voting age to be lowered to fifteen.
If a young white male attends a meeting of the EDL and gets caught up in some minor hooliganism, the Beeb treat him as a nasty bit of work; no recognition whatsoever that his relatively young age should be taken into account. But three brown, Islamist females go off, full of swagger, to join a blood-thirsty bunch of murdering bastards… and they are extremely vulnerable, the three friends, straight A students and, best of all, victims of sexual grooming.
You really couldn’t make it up. Imagine if you wrote a drama about a state broadcaster that lost its way and succumbed to bias, and you depicted them as bad as the BBC on this matter, people would say ‘Far-fetched, un-realistic, over-the-top’
“fears grow”? Whose fears, exactly, are growing? Who gives a … that three muslim girls go in search of an islamic state gang rape smack-up-ya-bitch sex experience.
I had the honour of being moderated out of a HYS yesterday when I mentioned the three girls in a post on some entirely different topic. Fair enough, off topic. But my point is valid. Look at BBC news coverage of ISIS, tough looking warriors all dressed in black waving their guns, riding in the open backed trucks, like real MEN. The photos could have been taken from a Hollywood set, desert scenes in the background. Every BBC photo is a glamorous presentation. Oh, of course, out of respect for public sensitivity let’s avoid photographs of their degrading practices.
BBC recruits for ISIS
Agreed. BBC coverage tends to glamorise these thugs. I’m with Kelvin MacKennzie – there’s far too much BBC ‘world news’. Too many BBC reporters chasing after sexy bang-bang journalism.
Reading around the subject I happened on this comment which I liked…..
‘Watching the Six O’Clock News on BBC is a penitential act. You have to endure about 45 seconds of self-aggrandising musical and graphic intro before the news reader even enunciates the headlines – which are then underscored by a soundtrack and punctuated with drumbeats. It’s like watching a musical. The whole panoply of melodramatic music, techno-wizardry and zooming shots serves only to impress the viewer with the over-riding importance of the messenger rather than the message.’
Just tuned in to the bbbc news 24 to discover they are still running the stories about the football incident on the Paris Metro and the 3 ‘young wimmin’ that have decide to go over to Islamic State to join in the murder and carnage, although the bbbc say that they are the victims. Perhaps their families can go over there to look for them and then we can remove all their rights of entry back to the UK…….Oh no, we can’t do that it might offend someone.
How many more times do I have to be subjected to this ‘not actually news but we will still keep showing it’ news agenda from bbbc?
So, as I tuned in these two agenda items were broadcast one after another I tuned in elswhere hopefully it was just before they wheeled on ‘Ed Balls’, the bbbc’s economic adviser
“…girls were last seen at their homes on Tuesday morning when they gave their families “plausible reasons” to be out for the day, police said.”
So already known to be itching to strap on a Thompson sub and do their Bonnie & Muhammad bit for the state, Ma & Pa take no interest in where funds or travel documents may come from or go, and fall back on ‘plausible reason’? Ooooook.
A bit early for “Today” this morning (don’t know why I bother, anyway), I caught the last few minutes of “Farming Today”, the BBC Radio 4 climate agenda programme cunningly disguised (or perhaps not disguised, at all) as something of interest to farmers, and agricultural people.
Some female professor, who was working on rainfall, and its effect on different soils, blithely spouting that ‘climate change is making extreme weather events the norm, these days’.
A professor? Where do they find these fools, and why is it necessary to trot out these glib untruths at every available opportunity? Do they really believe what they utter, or do they say it just because everyone else does, and it’s the thing to do?
I’m convinced that, in their eyes, they think that climate change only began a few years ago, and the weather has drastically altered beyond all recognition in that tiny timescale. Has the climate not changed since there was a climate to begin with? What about the previous 4.5 billion years of climate – did it not change, then? Clearly not, if these “professors” are to be believed – it only started changing a few years ago, and of course, it’s all OUR fault. Oh, and it has changed in a bad way, because of us – I wish it WAS warming, I really do – but it isn’t, is it?
Believe me, the dates for our farming around here have not changed in forty years except where farming practices allow things to be done more quickly. Rape comes into flower in April/May and flowers for about six weeks and then is cut or chemically desiccated and we wait three weeks for it to dry. If the weather stays dry we harvest in July but the last couple of years we have had to wait for a dry day in August. Early varieties of wheat may also be snatched in July, but usually it rains throughout August leading to increased stress on the part of the farmer. The early weeks of September are usually dry and sunny and we thank Him upstairs as we quickly, with super sized combines, bring in a year’s work. And nothing has changed. The last really warm dry summer was in 1976 and it would be lovely if we could have another. Autumn drilling has always been completed, just, by half term and this last autumn was no exception. So when I hear, as I did this last week on the BBC, that they are growing different crops in Iceland, because of climate change, I simply don’t believe it.
Thanks Debs , I`ll show your post to my cousin ,who farms in Essex . It`s a bit drier here , I think you are Yorkshire / Linc`s area, as you mentioned Look North a few days ago . I am sure he will concur with your observations .
Part of the problem is the age of ‘experts’ involved. The tweedy old professor of the 1950s or ’60s would have had a lifetime’s experience to look back on before pronouncing.
Today, the career path in certain disciplines appears to be GCSEs, A Levels, degree, appearance on TV show, chair of blah blah by the age of 30.
The BBC NHS News Channel are making a huge fuss over a new ‘incident’:
Police are investigating racist chanting at St Pancras station by men thought to be Chelsea fans returning from a Champions League match in Paris.
Superintendent Gill Murray of the BTP said of the new allegations: “The racist chanting was reported by a member of the public who was disgusted by the behaviour of the men who had travelled on the 18:40 service from Paris Gare du Nord.
“The men shouted as they walked through the station having alighted from the train a short time earlier.
“If you travelled on the train from Paris or were at the station and have information which can assist our investigation I would urge you to get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
She said more needed to be done to “publicly condemn” such behaviour, adding that BTP is working with football clubs to tackle the issue.
“It’s clear that unfortunately there is still a minority who think it is acceptable to behave in such an abhorrent manner,” added Supt Murray.
A matter of effing urgency? You can’t be serious? There must be a million truly urgent things that the police should be concentrating on before this trivial nonsense. Half the Jews in the UK are ready to leave; where’s the urgency in supporting them?
That’s because it would increase “community tensions”! Where as that doesn’t apply to a bunch of people prepared to spend vast amounts of money to watch some one else kick a ball around. If it wasn’t for the internet I’m sure the cults exploits would still be suppressed by the media.
I heard the report on the Paris incident by the Today programme earlier this week: when they interviewed the man who had video-ed it he said,’ I was so utterly shocked to hear them actually say “We are racist and we like it that way”‘. Good heavens you do lead a sheltered life, I thought, and isn’t it easy to épater les bourgeois these days… Hmm that’s perhaps an idea for those Chesea fans’ lawyers – claim it was one of those living installation things designed to afflict and shock the middle classes…
The bloke who filmed the Paris storm in a teacup was an expat.
So-for him to pretend that he was shocked to hear the stuff about Chelsea fans being happy to be racist-well, he can`t get out much, maybe he just commutes underground from one cafe to another.
Because Paris has some places where what the Chelsea fans is nothing at all. There are no go areas where he`ll not be filming anybody or what they`re saying.
But you`d not know that from this popinjays faux attack of les vapeurs.
After Charlie Hebdo-only the likes of him and his liberal ciphers at the BBC would feign ignorance about what La Defences Maghreb muppetry chant about Jews, churches, women-and maybe even PSG for that matter.
Desperate media shark for us all to jump if we`re so inclined…I see Islam frothing and foaming our seas with the blood of Christian Copts…but no homburg tip to Enoch.
i`m guessing we`ll have to wait `til IS reach the Tiber before the BBC tell us what “seems to be happening” as it all becomes one Red Sea, one Red River.
If you don`t mind-I`ll not be waiting for the BBCs permission to give Al Baghdadi the bad body language…the burqa won`t let us show that anyway.
BBC still going on about Paris. No not the atrocity. The incident in the tube. Funny they can run for days with this non-story , but not a cult demonstration in Downing Street also linked to Paris.
Just watched the disgrace that is BBc news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31564836
Still going on about this but now expanded. Some deputy leader from the transport police on going “blah blah blah”. He did have a lovely hat though I bet the plebs in transport police don’t have such nice hats.
So Cameron gets in on the BBC act over the psycho girls.
Mr Cameron said: “It is deeply concerning and obviously our authorities will do everything we can to help these girls.
“But it does make a broader point which is the fight against Islamist extremist terror is not just one that we can wage by the police and border control.
“It needs every school, every university, every college, every community to recognise they have a role to play.
Hey Dave, you never gave a shit about the Rotherham girls, and any attempt to criticise Islam gets a visit from your PC infested cops. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-31564014
“every community” … they have been, you refuse to listen
and you prevent the truth from being told … Grade A C-nt
Ever the superficial “soundbite” merchant … always patronising and arrogant in equal measure
What else do you expect from the incompetent No 10 traitors
The political classes created this madness with mass immigration, pointless foreign ventures and “multiculturalism.” No one was asked. It was a done deal. Now, we ALL have to work to stop it.
Erh, Hello? If you chumps listened to us in the first place this generally cohesive nation would still be cohesive and we wouldn’t be in this pointless mess. Step forward all those responsible. Come On! Why are you so quiet? Don’t be shy! Good! Gold medal goes to the The Labour Party, Silver medal the BBC, Bronze for the Tories.
Oh and by the way. Lets sneer at UKIP. Because a party that doesn’t want foreign intervention, Multiculturalism and mass immigration is the real threat to the Britain.
Yeah! Because you vain glorious f*ckers got it oh so right! Couse I’m going to vote LIBLABCON again. Course I don’t mind paying my TV tax.
Nick Clegg asks “Do we really want to go back to the 1950’s?” “Do we really want to pull up the drawbridge?”
Yes please Nick. Me and my family would feel much safer. Thanks for asking…and then ignoring.
Alex Salmond sets 24,000 annual immigration target
The First Minister sets the increased total for an independent Scotland despite warnings this would create border controls with England.
He really is a dire complement to the sound bite era and the content-poor media environment that feeds it.
This from Ch4:
“David Cameron has weighed into the row over the three teenage east London girls who are believed to be on their way to join Islamist extremists in Syria. The prime minister says schools and colleges have a duty to stop people “having their minds poisoned by this appalling death cult”. So how far does that duty extend?
We’ve been exploring the pressure on universities to stop students being radicalised. For the first time, academics are under a legal obligation to prevent under-graduates being lured into terrorism. Fair enough or an affront to free speech? Paraic O’Brien reports from Bethnal Green, and Assed Baig has been chatting to people on campus.”
Like any attempt by anyone in authority to cramp a kid’s prophet-mandated right to get in a lather and kick off would not have the entire media estate, and large chunks of suck-up establishment, calling for resignations.
Maybe rather than obliging some hapless diversity lecturer at the local Poly to wag a finger about what is not a true faith-based oath, the likes of the PM could look at what such as the BBC don’t talk about and what they do, so that silly bints don’t view loser nutjobs with a taste for the macabre as some doe-eyed hunk scampering around a tree.
A still from the Whitehall march might have gone a long way to showing the kind of buff boyfriend would likely be working off excess blood lust after a hard day’s toasting and beheading at the front office.
The PM(for that is still what he is!) has “weighed in” over these Brides of Duckula-“straight As” but I`m guessing that geography won`t be one of them- and their misplaced coursework over the half term.
“Weighed in”?
As if Krishnan, Jon, Jackie and Cathy don`t do the selfsame thing each and every night as they spawn and spew their lies and libby pervert crap.
For all his many faults, Cameron HAS been voted in and speaks for his bunch-the liberal merdia speak for no-one but Anjem, Antonio, Saul, Barak, Hezza and the tinpot cult of Blair.
How dare they use such language-or is he “purporting to declaim” that these weird girls should actually be packing their schoolbags, not semtex butties for their better halves(the ones that don`t get scraped into a binbag once they`ve fluffed their chemistry practicals)..as they all do!
At least I can see why IS get so pissed off at our cartoons-once they learn to read what we say, then we`ll REALLY be in trouble!
(Go on Hardy, Toksvig-try that one out next week on your fearless shows!)
Yes Davey, investigate their school, their mosque …
Where did they get the money?, the passports? better check the family, the tickets? the wider family?
As a matter of urgency, put strict measures in place now, to check schools with large Islamic headcount, check Islamic schools and academies …… mosques involved time after time
you won t of course
So Dave is “deeply concerned” for these girls. That’s strange, because literally everyone I have spoken to couldn’t give a flying f**k about them or their fate.
It’s possible he’s getting his lead from the broadcast only section of the BBC.
Because the interactive bits, from twitter to Facebook, suggest what they who speak to the nation are not hearing what’s coming back.
One comment on BBC World with huge uptick is how these deeply concerned parents, knowing junior is a bit smitten with thoughts of Mills and Boon adventures with desert sheiks, still left airfare money and passports lying around.
Once these girls get to Syria , they will become a “Bride of Isis” , & live like slaves ,& heavily veiled for the rest of their lives . Wouldn`t it be good if all the Evil Socialist Bbc female staff, followed in their wake & became “Brides of Isis ” too. Then they would learn all about the RoP ,& embrace their new “Culture” . We would be rid of them for good .
Does that mean anyone going to Turkey will now be given the third degree? If so the border Agency will be busy in the summer and how does that square with the human rights act the Tories never got rid of
“Did private schoolgirl recruit the teenagers? One of the runaways ‘contacted jihadi bride who fled Glasgow for Syria over Twitter.’
“Runaway teen Shamima Begum used Twitter to contact Asqa Mahmood.
“It is believed she was recruited by Mahmood, who fled Glasgow for Syria.
“Mahmood, 20, is believed to have joined IS and married one of the jihadists.
“Tweet suggests they have spoken privately and may have arranged to meet.”
That plot line would be turned down as too ridiculous even for a comedy show. Still, as the class dunce that brought in the Climate Change Act (drafted in part by the talentless greeny Bryony Worthington) Red Ed has to maintain the lie.
Prescott’s been trundled out for 30 years when someone wants to get the hard left vote out. Interesting; Miliband knows it will simultaneously upset the centre, so he’s clearly on a ‘core-vote’ strategy; whatever they spin to the contrary.
Maybe Prescott can address the connection between flatulence, Islam and climate change.
If flatulence contributes to climate change, and the teachings of Islam are correct in telling us that Satan farts during the prayers of the faithful, then they bear a responsibility for global warming. I suggest either a tax on Satanic farts or Muslim prayers.
Don’t laugh: all beliefs are equally true in the multiculture.
Lord Creosote has been wheeled out again, to advise on matters green?
Have to say, Ed’s keen eye for talent has again served him well.
This being the lump of climate rapporteuring lard that wheeled his entire entourage on a first class, five star jolly round the Carribean as a career-ending swan song, just because he could.
The BBC really has hitched its wagon to one knacketed nag.
We’re heroically struggling through this morning,100 yards from the coast at Eastbourne, desperately trying to make the best of the disaster. Good news is that Tesco’s seems to be coping with the demand for emergency supplies.
The Rotherham abuses are totally consistent with the BBC who look the ‘other’ way for fear of giving offence to its liberal left wing ethos. The Times today (Saturday) has a half page report on past BBC abuses stating; ‘sexual harrasment was ‘routine” 1970s to 1980’s – according to a new book by the BBC’s official historian (Jean Seaton media professor and author of ‘Pinkoes and Traitors: The BBC and the nation 1974 to1987’), she describes that three famous BBC ‘gropers’ included Malcolm Muggeridge, Hue Wheldon and one other only named as being “in a position of authority” at the BBC who was subsequently removed to an expensive urgent ‘assignment’ to New York. We can perhaps guess. And then George Howard BBC Chair 1980 to 1983 requested ‘a pretty young journalists’ to molest at any event he chose. This was at a time that Ms Thatcher always demanded that the BBC Director General and Chairman’s office were ‘swept for bugs’. This was at a time when the BBC were considered under the influence of Moscow and routinely monitored by Mi5. The Times
Somewhat surprisingly, the BBC seems quite pleased with itself with the ‘Pinkoes’ tag: ‘“Misogynist, courteous and patronising” — Jean Seaton might be making the BBC blush with her new book but that didn’t stop Beeb biggest names toasting its success. Director-general Tony Hall, along with former DGs John Birt and Michael Checkland, crowded into the University of Westminster’s Portland Hall last night….’ (says the Evening Standard) The plan being (BBC praise) that the book title was based on comments made by the late Denis Thatcher. So that makes it all above board and now deemed ‘acceptable’ behaviour as it’s ‘historical’ and had nothing to do with ‘Saville’ accomplices or any other ‘sexual’ events that have been exposed since Police operation ‘Yewtree’. The BBC abuses are now applauded as ‘historic’ impressive ‘British’ achievements. I can hardly wait for the next instalment of BBC abuses 1987 to 2010′ to be lauded as ‘acceptable’ by the BBC chiefs as being ‘British establishment’ at it’s liberal left of everything best. No shame at all.

‘Football and racism: nine fans, nine stories.’
And not a single one of these fans is a white Englishman, even though anyone who lives in the real world knows they’re subjected to racism regularly as well.
Nothing like documenting racism by being selective about which races to document.
The BBC should be impeached for inciting racial hatred.

Why is this story so quiet???

And did the councils exert any influence on the way and direction the BBC presents its “News” and all other programmes?
If so then the BBC should apologise for all their left-wing sniping about HBOS.

Over on SkyNews this morning they were bemoaning the lack of Oscar nominations for Selma, the film based on the Martin Luther King goings-on.
I’m sure the BBC will probably get round to it too.
Nothing in the SkyNews reporting to suggest that quality of performance might have something to do with it, it was all about diversity and bias.

You literally could not make it up, clueless, dangerously naïve, and regurgitated wholesale by the BBC.
an example … 2hrs 50min

The caption is a classic of wind spin: ‘the project could produce enough energy to power up to 2 million homes’
The author has kindly crunched some actual numbers on that ‘could’ and where reality lies between one home and 2 million. And when this ‘may’ be relied upon.
There is also the small matter of the operational factors, as 25 years in an aggressive salt water environment less than easy to service may degrade steel structures and complex gear boxes more quickly than ROI calculations ‘may’ hope.

That would be the small matter of average output being ~30% of capacity. No wonder the windmill shills don’t mention it.

I’ll come out as liking ‘In Our Time’. It’s what the BBC should do more of. Listen to the programme on Foxe’s Book of Martyrs for instance, which is very non Beeb in its accuracy and fairness.

Don’t say the BBC never report good news:
UKIP up to 17%
Posted at 13:29
Populus has released its latest poll:
• Labour 32 (-1)
• Conservative 31 (-)
• UKIP 17 (+2)
• Liberal Democrats 9 (-1)
• Others 12 (+1)
The fieldwork saw 2,011 people questioned on Wednesday and Thursday this week, Patrick O’Flynn, UKIP MEP and the party’s candidate in Cambridge, points out this is UKIP’s best performance in a Populus poll.

A sobering and depressing thought:
SNP = 3.5% of the electorate will likely get 35 seats, UKIP = 17% will likely get only 2 or 3 seats.

Are you sure it was revert and not pervert?

Hmm..

No wonder the likes of Ian Fells are removed from where they might speak truths-hence we`ve got Russell Brand on fracking, Roger Harrabin, George Monbiot setting science policy.

“I said on this forum a month ago, that we are likely to have a “coldest eva” year in the U.K. and you might have missed it but the met Office have already stated that the winter so far (Jan-Feb) is looking like it will be”
From the Met Office;
The provisional UK mean temperature for January 2015 was 3.7 °C, which is 0.1 °C above the 1981-2010 long-term average.

Would that be this Met Office?
‘All Change: Met Office Now Predicts Global Warming Standstill Until 2017’
http://www.thegwpf.com/met-office-warming-2017-media-do/
And the same Met Office that told us 2014 was the hottest year on record by 0.02 deg C, when the margin for error on annual global temperature measurement is 0.1 deg C?
And are those real temperatures or ‘adjusted’ ones?
Then there’s this:
‘Newsbytes: “Dry Winter” Could the Met Office Have Been More Wrong?’
http://wattsupwiththat.com/2014/02/21/newsbytes-dry-winter-could-the-met-office-have-been-more-wrong/
And there’s this:

Here come the girls!
“Fears Grow for the safety of three London school girls”
Or so shouts the BBC tv news top head line. Of course that head line is nothing but sheer journalistic bunkham.
No new details are imparted – nothing has changed since yesterday. It’s just that the BBC likes this story very much and wants to keep it going.
If Licence Payers were to complain the BBC would, I’m sure, point to chatter on ‘social media’ as justification for “Fears Grow”
But what’s the problem BBC? Not enough sympathy out there for stories about male gap year jihadis? Well, here come the girls.
Queue the PC bullshit bingo : ‘most vulnerable’ ‘straight A students’ ‘….it’s just like they have been “groomed”‘
Be Specific BBC, what is about these Bangaldeshi heritage British school girls that you think has made them so vulnerable?

Agreed. BBC coverage tends to glamorise these thugs. I’m with Kelvin MacKennzie – there’s far too much BBC ‘world news’. Too many BBC reporters chasing after sexy bang-bang journalism.
Reading around the subject I happened on this comment which I liked…..
http://fortnightlyreview.co.uk/2014/08/bang-bang-news/

‘Abhorrence’ is such a Common Purpose concept.

After Charlie Hebdo-only the likes of him and his liberal ciphers at the BBC would feign ignorance about what La Defences Maghreb muppetry chant about Jews, churches, women-and maybe even PSG for that matter.

i`m guessing we`ll have to wait `til IS reach the Tiber before the BBC tell us what “seems to be happening” as it all becomes one Red Sea, one Red River.
If you don`t mind-I`ll not be waiting for the BBCs permission to give Al Baghdadi the bad body language…the burqa won`t let us show that anyway.

Former Labour deputy PM John Prescott returns to frontline politics as special adviser to Ed Miliband with responsibility for climate change

Yes, G&S came to mind
Three Muslim maids from school are we
Hot for some hairy Jihadi
Off to kill for the ROP
Three Muslim maids from school
Causing pain is a source of fun
Nobody’s safe for we care for none
We’ll blow you all to kingdom come
Three Muslim maids from school
Three Muslim maids who are quite twisted
Behead the ones who are limp-wrist
It’s all Koranic, you’ve not missed it
Three Muslim maids from school
