Ten News was undiluted propaganda. Started with what the article above calls ‘The Jihad Slut Three’, finished with the wonderful Mo Farrah humiliating whitey, and in between, the time-bomb anti-UKIP story they’ve been building up since Christmas. ‘…can only be broadcast now…’ said Jane Hill. No, Jane, it could have been broadcast when you first got mileage out of it, but you chose to keep it until as close to the election as possible without running foul of the broadcast rules.

Anyway; given the vileness in the world at the minute, it’s outrageous to smear a decent little old lady, who just spoke frankly, as some monster. She’s not cutting someone’s head off.

  2. The Old Bloke says:

With John Prescott now in charge of the U.K. Climate Change (Global Warming) agenda, maybe his first port of call will be with NASA who are being brought to book for maybe, adjusting temperatures.

    • Essex Man says:

More of Bonnie Greer on Sky ,bringing back Prescott is like the second coming , fawning over the fucking fat oaf .She must of had his weight on her in past . More fawning over Barry O. too . Pass the sick bag .

      Good link OB.

Compare with the political ‘debate’ on global warming in this country – all we’ve had are a load of rigged Parliamentary Enquiries (Climategate).

      Makes you want to weep.

  4. Hexhamgeezer says:

Just watched the increasingly lame Weekly Wipe on i-Player (last time!).

Pusillanimous Charlie Brooker mentioned Obama’s laff-a-minute exploits with a selfie stick on the day the murder of US hostage Kayla Mueller was announced. The slimy Brooker conceded that it ‘may’ have been a bit insensitive but was nothing compared to Bush reading a kids book on the day of 9/11.

As puke inducing distortions and fake ‘equivalencing’ goes, this one is right up there with the Al-Beeb’s worst. That well known clip of Bush was taken during a working visit to a nursery where he was reading to some infants. An aide came in and whispered the news of the beginning of the 9/11 attacks and Bush had the decency and composure to finish off without alarming the children. Imagine the shock of hearing news like that on camera and in front of kids. Equating that situation with Obama’s narcissistic cavortings is a truly vile bit of blind lefty ignorance.

    Brooker – you’re a Grade A cant.

    • Guest Who says:

He really used the reaction of Bush as a criticism?

What did he expect… dropping the book and screaming ‘we’re all doomed!’ before running for the door?

Don’t think even his squeeze would have done that with a breaking news as she interviewed a skateboarding turtle.

It’s not like POTUS doesn’t have previous, as Michelle’s reaction to his gravitas during Nelson Mandela’s funeral showed.

As a bbc-favoured interviewee may say, Mr. Brooker may wish to reconsider his position on that.

  5. Merched Becca says:

According to Al Beeb, three very intelligent A Grade girls head for Syria, and our so called ‘Prime’ Minister states that… “It needs every school, every university, every college, every community to recognise they have a role to play.”We all have a role to play in stopping people from having their minds poisoned by this appalling death cult.”

Surely, this is one for the Muslim Community of our country to address?
This nation is desperately in need of a responsible leader that can be called a statesman?
I am afraid this will upset our Conservative readers, but Cameron certainly does not fit that bill.

  6. Charlatans says:

We are not blessed here in UK with mainstream News that can rapidly deliver like the internet and Twitter does.

Example: Just seen what I would consider significant information re battle against ISIS in that Turkish Military crossed border into Syria tonight heading for Tomb of Suleyman Shah, a sovereign Turkish enclave located in the Syrian state of Aleppo, it is trending and breaking news all over the web and Twitter:

Nothing on TV or web sites of BBC, Sky, Channel 4 News

    • Guest Who says:

Mr. Iredale must be very proud of such professional analysis, and shows true BBC professional integrity in assessing what is ‘news’ and clearly ‘not news’ (c) A. Newsroom Tealady.

That “quote” obviously not quotable, which is odd given what the BBC sticks in inverted commas usually at the drop of a one degree of separation smear from an opponent.

Of course this is from the party’s outgoing representative, and exasperated the incoming one, so best to play down as a professional courtesy.

Did I mention how professional the BBC is? The DG will be proud, at least sources close to him will say.

      • Guest Who says:

At least the comments stayed open a few days, before closing at… 26.

Tim has quite the following. Or maybe it was tucked away?

      • I Can See Clearly Now says:

Sky News covered this story last night. Joey Jones was open-mouthed incredulous that Austin Mitchell had made such a gaffe. He said it was likely to hurt Labour, not just in Grimsby but all around the country. Stark contrast to the BBC coverage.

[Joey Jones was Deputy Political Editor to Adam Bolton. You would have expected him to get the job when Bolton moved on, but they gave it to Faisal Islam from Channel 4 who had experience in Economics, not politics. Odd]

      • Deborah says:

Tim Iredale is our local news political editor, he makes no pretence at balance. He is Labour all the way.

He also has the irritating habit of placing the camera in the wrong place but he always speaks to camera with his chin in the air (maybe to hide a double chin) but it gives him a delivery style that is pure sneer.

  7. Alex says:

‘Come Home…’ Shouldn’t the headline read ‘Muslim women go out to aid terror’?

I hope they don’t come back.

  8. Alex says:

Wonder if the BBC will be reporting this:

I wonder how many of these jailed Romanians shook hands with Keith Vaz at the airport?

    • Guest Who says:

      Hope he kept his watch.

Still no doubt most were poster-boy brain surgeons?

    • George R says:

Yes, it will not deflect Beeboids from their continuing political mission to have Britain colonised by unlimited mass immigration .

Headlines to that ‘Mail on Sunday’ report-

“Romanians EIGHT times as likely to be jailed here as Britons:

“Shock new figures show they are worst offenders with 11,000 arrested each year… as foreign nationals fill 1 in 8 UK prison places
Figures reveal Romanians top league table for foreign inmates jailed in UK.
“Statistics will reignite the EU immigration debate as election approaches.
“One prisoner in every eight in England and Wales is a foreign national.
“Breakdown by nationality shows Romanians, Albanians and Lithuanians are all proportionately far more likely to be imprisoned than Britons.”

The establishment closing ranks here seems oddly familiar: BBC TVL/Capita, incompetent justice system and… Astoundingly uncurious West Yorkshire police.

    No helicopters at least.

Usually such abuse of power would warrant being held to account.

But clearly what is important is 3 being the magic number of folk to track down due to fears or loathing.

  10. George R says:

Beeboids, Islamic State, ‘Scottish,’ and Islamic victimhood.

“’Scottish woman’ may have helped recruit 3 missing UK teen Muslimas for the Islamic State”

    BY ROBERT SPENCER, ‘Jihadwatch’.

    [Opening excerpt]:-

“Aqsa Mahmood, says the BBC, is a ‘Scottish woman,’ but does she consider herself a Scot in any way other than geographically? Unlikely. Despite her parents’ claims, she almost certainly grew up in a Muslim area and was taught Islamic values, including the distaste that the ‘best of people’ (Qur’an 3:110) should have for the jahiliyya, the society of the ‘most vile of created beings’ (Qur’an 98:6) — unbelievers. She clearly rejects a great deal of what most Scots would consider essential to what it means to be a Scot.

“Yet for the BBC, she is as Scottish as William Wallace and Mary Queen of Scots — reflecting a dogma of the Left, that sociocultural values are the same everywhere, and thus it is only geography that makes for nationality. Move a Russian to Poland, and presto, his children will be Polish. The Western intelligentsia believes that if Aqsa Mahmood’s parents move to Scotland, and Aqsa is born there, that Aqsa will grow up Scottish, with Scottish values — and that if she doesn’t, it is the fault of Scottish authorities, who declined to allow him to assimilate because of their racism. The idea that Aqsa’s parents (again, despite their protestations here) and other Muslims in Scotland might have had no interest in assimilating is not allowed to be discussed.

“Meanwhile, if a group of Scots moved to Syria and established a small enclave, a Little Scotland within Syria, and had children born in Syria, would their children be considered Syrians, open and shut, without question? Would the BBC refer to them as Syrians, as in ‘a Syrian man, Alexander Burns’?”

  11. Alex says:

What a cheek to blame the authorities. I’d advise the family look a little closer to home before pointing the finger.

    • Guest Who says:

Classic bbc, porting over a claim, sticking it in a quote and making it the lead.

It’s about the only line they can take, and only credulous, or complicit media are falling for it, hook & sinker.

      Few others are.

      • Guest Who says:

Maybe a new ‘Enders plotline to reflect the bbc’s grasp of family realities?

“Mummy, Daddy; could I have a few hundred quid and my passport? I’m just popping out with the girls to get wasted and pull some white slappers’ hair out”

‘Of course, light of our lives. Here’s the Samsonite matched set and a meat cleaver. You can’t be too careful. Have fun. And don’t forget Uncle is coming round next week in his taxi to take you to the FGM clinic above the community center”

    • AsISeeIt says:

      ‘…blame the authorities…’

That’s the knee-jerk fall back stance from our tv tax benefit claimants.

Frankly, they just want to keep this story their headline item. Yesterday it was the desperate phrase “Fears Grow”

I predict during the coming week we will be told there’s a social media Twitter campaign ‘save our girls’

I am convinced this so-what story is being targeted by the BBC and blown up as a major puff-piece – cui bono?

  12. Charlatans says:

This ticks all the expected boxes for prospective Labour MP to fight Gorgeous George in Bradford:

Ex-BBC journalist, Labour Tower Hamlets Councillor, British-Somali Amina Ali chosen from an all-woman shortlist of three in a move which will annoy some party members who wanted to see a local candidate.

  13. AsISeeIt says:

BBC just Marr-ed my morning with Alastair Campbell lecturing us on press probity and the ‘planting of stories’ – hahahaha

Then we get this : ‘I think foreign policy should play a bigger role in the General Election’

You’re pushing at an open door there, Alastair. The BBC love a lot of foreign bang-bang.

And of course with your mates in Labour have such a shit record on the economy I can well inderstand the need for distractions.

Now watch the BBC carefully in the coming weeks. Watch the panic about Putin, watch the focus on what some mad arabs are up to in the desert.

Alastair has just issued his instruction to a hundred BBC journos and dictated what will fill our news bulletins.

    • How does Campbell sleep at night?

      • He cried last time he was Marr. I felt sorry for him a split second then but the horror and the disgrace of 100’s of dead and injured Bristish troops. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead and a region destabilized with further murder and misery, world terrorism, cleared that immediately. And today, now the Sh*t is on TV flogging his latest book.

        • Guest Who says:

“..on TV flogging his latest book”

And facilitated in this by whom? Again.

        • Disgusted of Essex says:

If there is one person on this earth I could NEVER have any compassion or sympathy for, it’s Alastair “Warmonger and failed porn writer” Campbell.

Hopefully following the publication of the Chilcott report he’ll be in a similar position to one of his victims with any enquiry concluding that he committed suicide, with the cause of death as “haemorrhage due to incised wounds of the left wrist” in combination with “coproxamol ingestion and coronary artery atherosclerosis”

Sorry if this offends as I do not ever wish death on any other human being, but to me – and by his actions – Campbell has removed his right to be classed as part of the human race.

          • GCooper says:

            Strong stuff.

Even in a government of grotesques and monsters, Campbell stands out as something specially evil.

  14. Old Goat says:

Lard Prescott in charge of “advising” about Climate Change. Words fail me. Two-Jags, and ten bellies. Who ate all the pies, and is a climate scientist, then? I would advise him to shut his fat cakehole, and piss off.

    • johnnythefish says:

I remember (shudder) when Labour were in power and Precott was their rep at yet another tedious ‘climate change’ conference.

Being interviewed by the BBC at said conference he was giving us his usual ten-to-the-dozen mangled outpourings and suddenly blurted out, Tourette’s-style: ‘Look, this is all about social justice….’

In other words, redistribution of wealth (which us sceptics knew was part of the hidden agenda anyway.)

I’ve often wondered whether Prescott was ever one of the politicans that helped write the IPCC ‘Summary for Policymakers’ – you know, the 25-pager constructed jointly by scientists, politicians and environmentalists – you know, the one which the full IPCC report aka the ‘bible’ of climate science has to keep in step with via retrospective amendments. The mind truly boggles.

      • I Can See Clearly Now says:

The defining event of Prescott’s life was failing the eleven-plus; he has devoted himself to the politics of envy since that day. He sees his ‘success’ as proof that the eleven-plus was ‘flawed’; some see his ministerial failures as proof that it worked as intended.

      • Demon says:

What they mean by the redistibution of wealth is for the extremely rich to be forced to redistibute most of their money to the (merely) very rich (i.e. themselves). Sod the middle-middle, lower-middle and working classes: The latter are to be used as a means to the end they aim for in the first sentence, but God forbid those working classes improving their lot as they would then be less likely to vote Labour.

        • I Can See Clearly Now says:

Sod the middle-middle, lower-middle and working classes

We’re supposed to re-distribute to persons from a disadvantaged background born overseas.

    • Guest Who says:

Just read a comment to the effect that if Prescott is the answer, Labour dare not contemplate the question.

If he’s deemed the bridge to reconnect with the core… boy, do they have problems.

Norman Smiff doubtless finessing the good Lord’s pearls as we speak.

  15. Video Sentry says:

I was waiting for this typical angle from the BBC:-

UK Security Services ‘Failed’ Over Syria Girls

And now they have a Lawyer…compensation?
‘Their lawyer Aamer Anwar told BBC Breakfast that they wanted to know how the girls could have been allowed to travel to Turkey alone’.

Anything but blame Islam and the families. Or Allah
    forbid, blame the girls themselves!

    • Thoughtful says:

I was just thinking about this, and the usual way the Fascist left can turn logic on its head to gain an angle to blame their untermensch the whites !

  16. Thoughtful says:

BBC Radio 4 Broadcasting House with the paper review and Nigel Farage is on. As expected he gets a grilling by Paddy O’Connell over the UKIP councillor who during a BBC (surprise surprise) undercover documentary said that she had a problem with black people.

Farage countered with the bias of the BBC in failing to report a Labour member sent to prison for Paedophilia, which the BBC failed to cover at all !!

Paddy O’Connell quickly shut the question down saying that they wanted to concentrate on the race issue. Some protestations from Farage and a promise made to discuss it later, but which never happened.

Andrew Gilligan is a busy man:

Baroness Warsi, the first Muslim woman to sit in Cabinet, handed official posts to people linked to Islamist groups, including a man involved in an “unpleasant and bullying” campaign to win planning permission for the controversial London “megamosque” proposed by a fundamentalist Islamic sect.

He sits – alongside other radicals or former radicals and their allies – on a “cross-Government working group on anti-Muslim hatred” set up by Lady Warsi and Nick Clegg, the Deputy Prime Minister.

Islamic ‘radicals’ at the heart of Whitehall

The council which failed scores of girls abused by a sex grooming ring has hired a radical Islamic group to “mentor” potential abusers from the Muslim community.

The group, Street UK, also has links to the Trojan Horse plot, in which hard-line Muslims sought to Islamise state schools and push out secular head teachers.

Child sex scandal council hires ‘mentors’ linked to hard-liners

    • George R says:

‘Jihadwatch’ picks up on Gilligan’s reports of Muslim WARSI’s activities in Government-

“UK: Muslim former Cabinet member gave official posts to Islamic supremacists”

“Britain can’t seem to kill itself fast enough to suit British authorities.

“Islamic ‘radicals’ at the heart of Whitehall,” by Andrew Gilligan Telegraph (£)-
      [Excerpt from Gilligan]:-

“Entryism, the favourite tactic of the 1980s’ Militant Tendency, is when a political party or institution is infiltrated by groups with a radically different agenda. Since Militant’s Trotskyites were expelled from the Labour Party, the word has rather fallen out of fashion.

“But now, according to one Muslim leader, Islamic radicals are practising entryism of their own — into the heart of Whitehall – courtesy of a woman who was until recently a government minister.

“Baroness Warsi, the first Muslim woman to sit in Cabinet, handed official posts to people linked to Islamist groups, including a man involved in an ‘unpleasant and bullying’ campaign to win planning permission for the controversial London “megamosque” proposed by a fundamentalist Islamic sect.”

You beat me to it, I was about to post the same link and sentiment. I have always had a sneaking admiration for Sikhism based mostly on the Sikhs I have known. Hard working, generous and polite seem to be their defining characteristics.

  22. Ember2014 says:

    BBC News now headlining with:
    Authorities failed over Syria girls

That’s right. Apparently the intelligence services should have picked up conversations between these girls and a Jihadist before their own family members did.

One minute the BBC is complaining that there’s too much snooping by the state then when inept Muslim families don’t recognise the warning signs at home, the state isn’t snooping enough.

    • Guest Who says:

The likes of the BBC and others banging on with demands of pro-active state intrusion into liberties and rights being met with a certain cynicism, not least by those usually castigated for the merest hint of a bit of profiling.

Such naked attempts at trying to have it all ways (NHS, military..) and then dropping fellow public servants in it on a damned all ways basis will one day blow back badly.

  23. AsISeeIt says:

Some news sources are headlining with this – ‘Addressing Ms Mahmood, who moved from Glasgow to Syria to marry an IS fighter, the family added: “You are a disgrace to your family…”‘

The BBC – not so much. They know of the comment – you can find it on line way down the relevant report. So no point complaining of the BBC focus on banging on and on about the failing authorities.

Of course any excuse for more employment and funding in the public sector is a god send/allah send for the BBC drones.

How Mrs Thatcher dealt with the biased BBC, a shame she’s ten times the man leftie Dave is, although was a Conservative meritocrat interested in helping people succeed through their own ambition and efforts as opposed to leftie Dave leader of the LibLabCon party – interested in Political Correctness and ensuring him and his friends hold on to their unearned and untaxed wealth.

    • pah says:

This article was written by Jean Seaton an ‘historian of the BBC ‘ and is hardly flattering of Maggie.

It’s typical BBC double speak. Any criticism is wrong and right-wing in nature. i.e. she was only complaining because the BBC didn’t say what she wanted it to. It ignores things like Arthur Scargill being given the opportunity to put his point of view more than everyone else from both sides during the Miners Strike.

In other words it is a load of old bullshit.

      • Thoughtful says:

I agree with you, but the point that Jean Seaton perhaps didn’t bank on getting across was that at least Maggie did something where the pathetic appeaser leftie Dave has done nothing.
Even Chamberlain looks like a political giant of decisiveness and consequence when compare with the dithering and acquiescence of leftie Dave.

    • dave s says:

What a surprise!. The BBC exonerating itself as usual . Why do they bother with inquires and a complaints department.
A new mission statement( I hate this phrase but it is a liberal left favourite) for the BBC-The BBC is infallible. It’s reporters and news gatherers are never wrong ,biased or just have an off day. Mistakes never happen. On the very rare occasions when it looks as if the BBC has made a mistake this is not so. You are wrong, misguided or plain bad.
Furthermore if you have the nerve to complain this just proves the point.

  31. Pounce says:

Just watched the 6pm news on bBC 24.
The first 12 minutes was all about the girl, well 3 girls actually. The family )(And the left) were given carte Blanche to shed crocodile tears for the camera while asking ‘Why?’

Yet nobody from the media, can work out how a death cult which masquerades as a religion of peace which has no problem murdering unbelievers, treating woman like shite, promoting intolerance as the word of god, raping little girls and of course returning any country they rule back into the stone age. is the reason why. Instead they look and blame anybody and everybody except the reason why?

During this, a so called bBC expert on Muslims (What, did he take it up the arse for allah?) is allowed to opine that these poor very private people are so concerned they have allowed themselves to be filmed in which to get their young girls back. Yet these are the people who have no problem parading in their hundreds of thousands in the west when they don’t get their way:
    Israel fights back…protest
    France bans burka..Protest
    Denmark draws cartoons…Protest
    UK holds remembrance day..Protest
Troops given freedom of the city…Protest
Muslims murder 2 in Denmark…protest against free speech.

Muslims have no problem going public in which to get their way. Yet in an attempt to excuse the bigoty of three splitarses going out to murder death kill , then they become private people.

Have to laugh at the father of one of them who explained she was a Chelsea fan… So does that mean she’s a fucking racist?

    • I Can See Clearly Now says:

Just watched the 6pm news on bBC 24.
The first 12 minutes was all about the girl, well 3 girls actually

Sky News devoted over 14 minutes to them. Unreal.

  32. Pounce says:

Sky News is reporting that Islamic terrorists in Somalia have released a video demanding that Shopping centres in the UK and US are attacked. You’d think that would be the major headline for the bBC, instead they continue with those 3 poor little girls, who buggered off to Syria in which to be treated as…..ladies.

  33. Miss Dominique du Slap says:

Nothing to do with Islam, right? Al Kebab need to be wiped from this planet. Half of the sods are probably living in East London thanks to Labour and the Tories’ open door immigration policies.

  34. Pounce says:

Just watching the bBC coverage on the crisis in the Ukraine. If i didn’t know better I would have walked away thinking thinking that Ukraine is t fault.

    • thoughtful says:

It could easily be Ukraine’s fault though. That and the EU which encouraged it to become hostile to Putin’s Russia, and to overthrow an elected government, replacing it with one which appealed to the EU.

Then there’s the ‘mistake’ of the way Ukraine was reconstituted after the break up of the Soviet Union leading to them having (in their eyes) good reason to take it back.

Unusual for the biased BBC to support Russia, because they hate Putin with a passion because he hasn’t wholeheartedly embraced homosexuality. He’s the nearest thing to a bogey man they could find, and without him they would have to invent one, after all they just can’t bring themselves to criticise the Muslim countries who actually apply the death penalty to gays.

    • Ember2014 says:

“Ukraine army not pulling out of Ukraine region fast enough”

Does sound like the Ukrainian army is being provocative rather than just defending its territory.

Heard Jenni Murray say that “it`ll be such fun” to have John Prescott back in politics.
That eco-warrior drove a few hundred yards to prevent his wifes hair getting messed up…but didn`t mind humping his secretary near the Queen Mums mortuary slab-and no fuss made about the mess he`d have made of HER hair in the process.
In short-a fat leering blustering bully with no grammar, no purpose-and a national laughing stock, an international puff adder who the Chinese, Russians and Saudis will put up in Gadhaffis fart-filled tent.
And then-like us-wonder how such a venal oaf and two bob cretin can ever get a title of “Deputy Prime Minister”…future generations will already put his elevation as being more disreputable that Caligulas horse being made a senator.
Spud faced florid sandbag who eats his own manure to order.
And we pay him-and Jenni Murray calls his sexual harrassment of a vulnerable secretary “fun”?
Good old Sistahood eh?…if only he`d called her a pleb-THEN the BBC would-well excuse that as well, seeing its “our John being John”.
Still-when Labour cherish THAT blimp as an election gargoyle…we know then that Ed Miliband can only look better in comparison…and I do hope that Planet Real sees what fools and scum they are seen as by Labour and the BBC.
An elephants butt-plug turned septic…and another whose kids do rather well out of his blusterings…witness Kinnock.
No-can`t say that I care much for the man!
The very embodiment of Labour/BBC fantasisings…Thief in the Temple#1.

  37. Miss Dominique du Slap says:

Are we meant to feel sorry for these little shits?

It seems that if you’re white, English and Christian and you call someone a bad name you’re a racist Nazi scum who gets beaten up by UAF excrement and constant harassment, However, if you’re a poor oppressed Muslim and travel abroad to join the most revolting and hideous fascist death cult known to man, the BBC give you a platform for sympathy and understanding.

    • Ember2014 says:

The families are currently providing the BBC with sympathy porn.

The truth is the only people I have sympathy with are the victims in Iraq/Syria who will be gunned down by this trio once they’ve acquired their burqas and AK47s.

  38. GCooper says:

It is very telling that while the BBC is still boo-hooing over the ‘mysterious’ disappearance of the three wannabe jihadi brides as its top story, the Telegraph leads on the threat to shopping centres in the west by the Somali franchise of insane islamism.

Which of these stories is actually more relevant to the BBC’s viewers? The altogether unsurprising flight to jihad by the children of immigrants who clearly self-identify as alien, or a genuine threat to their lives as they go about their business?

And then there’s the latest Gilliigan revelation about the odious ‘Baroness’ Warsi and her strange choice of associates. The BBC seems keen to downplay the importance of that, too.

Why, you might start thinking the Corporation has an agenda, mightn’t you?

  39. mikef says:

Recommend the article in the Mail on Sunday today by Professor Jean Seaton, (official historian of the BBC), about Margaret Thatcher and the Falklands War etc. It oozes complacency, superiority, we know best, condescension, arrogance. Talk about condemned from their own mouth.

  41. I Can See Clearly Now says:

Did you see the Scottish lawyer of the parents of the ISIS recruiter?

Wikipedia says ‘Aamer Anwar is a prominent Scottish lawyer of Pakistani background who is noted for his left-wing political views and several associated controversies. He was an active participant in the Stop the War Coalition, campaigned against the 31st G8 summit at Gleneagles and against the closure of the Dungavel Detention Centre for failed asylum seekers.

Anwar is noted for his controversial statements in the aftermath of the 2007 Glasgow International Airport attack, in which he claimed, “That there is no difference between a stealth bomber and a suicide bomber, the effects are still the same”. In further remarks he argued that there was a moral equivalence between the 9/11 hijackers and the United States. He also argued that Muslims felt alienated because of a Western “binge drinking and Big Brother” culture.

The Herald reports that Aamer Anwar, who was a leading voice in the Yes campaign in the run-up to the independence referendum and recently joined the SNP, had been tipped as a candidate for the Glasgow Central seat.

However, he confirmed yesterday that he would not be standing, saying the decision was the right one for him and his family.

So this lawyer is a senior member of the UK party most supportive of votes for 15/16 year olds. Here he is, totally contradicting the notion that people of that age are capable of making a sound judgement and crafting words to portray them as helpless ‘young girls’ who have been let down by authorities – a ‘child protection’ issue. No shame whatsoever about double standards.

Needless to say, the ‘Families have a right to demand an inquiry‘. Maybe a smidgeon of compensation as well?

    Winter snow ‘breaks Europe records’
6 February 2015 Last updated at 05:05 GMT
Severe winter weather has been causing chaos for many across parts of Europe.
Sweden, Italy and Spain are among the countries that have seen arctic weather over the last few days.
Schools and roads have been closed and the bad weather is expected to continue over the weekend.

    Tim Allman reports.

And that was it!!!! Global Warming eh BBC? Frightened to tell us about the real world BBC? Calling Mr Harrabin, calling Mr Harrabin?

Jenni Murray won`t be the only BBC freebagger who`ll be worried about getting some infection from her airline.
I myself see it as Mother Gaia getting her revenge on the globetrotters like Frost, Branson, Snow and Simpson(J).
Dame Jenni herself seems bothered-but not by her carbon footprint, as she “attends a literary festival in Dubai”.
The very heart of intellectual scholarship is Dubai, surely?
Anyway-expect no bluster about our carbon footprints this week on her saprophytic Womans Hour.
It`ll be Jon Snows turn to berate us all-poor sod presumably grounded until the next atrocity abroad…hot, duty free and-of course-well away from the trouble itself.
Jenni Murray at a literacy festival in Dubai then-Prescott back?

The BBC has finally canned the appalling Atlantis which was the most expensive program it has ever produced and which failed miserably, partly due to the casting of the lead actor Jack Donnelly who had more wood than the Trojan Horse !
The comments at digital spy are rather amusing though.

“Come on folks- its the BBC, its remit is to forcibly extract the licence fee from every household with a TV, then completely waste it on 30 years of the same rehashed Eastenders stories, worthless Radio stations, overpaid buffoons and some antique and property shows…… you can’t expect them to invest in anything good or original, or give a choice for that matter……. the minute something original and different comes along it gets knifed to death.

Incidentalyl if this is saving £18 million, can this come off the licence fee, as ‘Id rather have 2pence back in my wallet wherever possible than have it go to producing the codswallop that the BBC makes.
More entertainment to be had dropping that 2p down the back of the sofa.

For me the BBC has tried to be so inoffensive with this series that it forgot Aesops old fable try to please everyone end up pleasing no one.
Bland and characterless programming is all we can expect now as the BBC attempts to be all things to all men while offending no one.
