The Price of Appeasement

The Danegeld (/ˈdeɪn.ɡɛld/; “Danish tax”, literally “Dane tribute”) was a tax raised to pay tribute to the Viking raiders to save a land from being ravaged.

We know that the BBC hides political and social messages within its programming, not just shamelessly distorting its news reporting to bring us a carefully shaped narrative but selecting the subject matter of its documentaries, historical dramas and, well, just about any programme you care to mention from comedy to children’s programming, in order to reflect the message of the day that the BBC thinks the viewers and listeners need to learn….their views being a result of ignorance and prejudice and a bigoted misunderstanding of the world.

We know that Roger Harrabin, that Rasputin-like figure who will go down in history, along with his colleague, climate activist Dr Joe Smith, as one of the most corrupting influences upon the climate change debate, engineered the infamous seminars at the BBC in order to pressure BBC bosses, editors, producers and programme commissioners to adulterate their programmes with climate change propaganda.

We know that BBC programming has been hugely distorted to provide us with a very misleading picture of the Muslim community, their views and Islam itself…the latest being ‘Nadiya’s’ win on the GBBO which has been a triumph for the BBC’s multicultural propaganda unit….but which displays everything that is wrong with the BBC’s approach and their own misunderstanding of why people criticise Islam.  The BBC thinks if only we could get to see that a Muslim, like Nadiya in a headscarf, can be a nice person then we will therefore conclude that Islam must be nice too.   If Nadiya is so proud of being a Muslim, and is obviously devout, headscarf and all, then ask her some questions about that…does she think apostates should be killed, adulterers lashed or possibly stoned to death, gay people killed, criminals have their hands and feet chopped off, does she think women are inferior to men, that Muslims can take slaves and four wives, that Muslims shouldn’t make friends with unbelievers, that Muslims must fight the unbeliever until Islam reigns supreme as ordered by the Korn, that those who oppose Islam should be crucified and have their hands and feet cut off as ordered by the Koran, does she believe in democracy, freedom of speech, or does she think Muslims should live under Sharia law in a caliphate, British first or Muslim first?

“Hijab is not a fashion accessory or a headdress. It is an act of worship and obedience to God’s command,” wrote Fatima Barkatulla, a London-based lecturer in Islamic thought, on Facebook.

“And we worship and obey God on his terms, not our terms.”

Does Nadiya agree with those Islamic principles?  If so how does the fact that she can make cakes and drink tea alone make her ‘British’?

Cameron raised that very subject in a speech in June this year…

Only if we are clear about this threat and its causes can we tackle it. The cause is ideological. It is an Islamist extremist ideology one that says the West is bad and democracy is wrong that women are inferior, that homosexuality is evil. It says religious doctrine trumps the rule of law and Caliphate trumps nation state and it justifies violence in asserting itself and achieving its aims.

The question is: how do people arrive at this worldview?

They arrive at that worldview because that is Islam, taught to them from the day of their birth.

Of course it’s not just climate change and Islam that get the BBC makeover, immigration does too as the BBC tries to either promote it as a huge benefit to the nation or engineer unthinking sympathy for migrants with endless sad tales and photographs of children and women rather than the hordes of men that in reality make up the bulk of the immigrants.

Today we had a programme that indulged itself with the usual BBC riffs.…apparently the Roman Empire has lessons for us today, there are parallels with events today, it illustrates problems with the government’s prevention of terrorism policies and raises questions about drones killing British (LOL) citizens in Syria….and all sorts of parallels that reflect our attitudes towards immigration….when they say ‘our’ they mean you and me, the unthinking prejudiced mob.   And oh yes…why did Miliband lose the election?  It was the fault of the evil right-wing press and their wicked portrayal of Miliband as a dork who couldn’t eat a sandwich without cocking it up.  Not his crazy policies and stupid headline grabbing stunts such as the Edstone then?

Bernard Cornwell has admitted that the BBC chose to turn his books into a television production because The Last Kingdom had ‘interesting echoes of today’

Author whose novels about King Alfred have been adapted for TV says his work deals with themes of nationhood and immigration under current debate.

The BBC was inspired to make a lavish new series about King Alfred the Great because of current debates about immigration and nationhood, according to the author of the historical drama.

The Last Kingdom is based on the novels of Bernard Cornwell about how King Alfred became the first king of the Anglo-Saxons and created England.

Cornwell said the BBC was interested in the story because it had echoes of today.

“That’s why they [the BBC] picked it”, he said. “I do see something modern in it – that we are all immigrants. The Saxons are immigrants – according to the British, the Celts, they have stolen the land they have. The first shield wall battle which Uhtred takes part in is [for the Saxons] against the Welsh.

“The Saxons were very successful colonisers, and neighbours, then the Danes, the Normans, the Huguenots, you name it … right through to this century, we are all immigrants.

That has long been the BBC narrative, ‘we’re all immigrants’. A completely false and deliberately misleading rewriting of history.   The BBC has worked hard to try and dismantle Britain and to destroy the British and English identity.  This is the nation-hating, border-hating, Britain-hating BBC at work.  A hugely damaging exercise in ethnic cleansing in effect, an attempt to wipe out any notion of an English or British identity, to destroy a feeling of unity and belonging, an attempt make you confused and rootless, vulnerable to the BBC’s message and a new identity as a ‘citizen of the world’.

The final message from the programme mentioned above was that they wanted people to think differently about their certainties, to sow doubt in their minds about their ideas of themselves in order to change things.

Who can doubt that that is precisely what the BBC sets out to do, to spread doubt and confusion based upon the BBC’s unique view of history that maligns all that is British and makes victims of the rest of the world to whom we now owe a debt in some shape or form.

Cornwell is of course living an immigrant’s life in America with his American wife and is immensely rich and so will hardly suffer the consequences of mass immigration however bad they may be.  He will always have medical treatment, a job, schools for his children or grandchildren, a home to live in and the ability to escape if necessary.  Not so those whom he, and the BBC, would impose immigration upon.

Cornwell thinks ‘The Last Kingdom’ tells us some truths about Britain today…well yes it just might….the most important lesson is that the problem with Danegeld is that the Danes kept coming back for  more.  Appeasing the invaders doesn’t pay off.  One day you have to stand up to them and take back your country……

Rudyard Kipling, much hated by the Left, spells it out……

Dane-Geld

A.D. 980-1016

It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
  To call upon a neighbour and to say: --
"We invaded you last night--we are quite prepared to fight,
  Unless you pay us cash to go away."

And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
  And the people who ask it explain
That you've only to pay 'em the Dane-geld
  And then you'll get rid of the Dane!

It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
  To puff and look important and to say: --
"Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
  We will therefore pay you cash to go away."

And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
  But we've proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
  You never get rid of the Dane.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
  For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
  You will find it better policy to say: --

"We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
  No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
  And the nation that pays it is lost!"

    GK Chesterton

    Smile at us, pay us, pass us; but do not quite forget,
    For we are the people of England, that never has spoken yet.
    There is many a fat farmer that drinks less cheerfully,
    There is many a free French peasant who is richer and sadder than we.
    There are no folk in the whole world so helpless or so wise.
    There is hunger in our bellies, there is laughter in our eyes;
    You laugh at us and love us, both mugs and eyes are wet:
    Only you do not know us. For we have not spoken yet.

    The fine French kings came over in a flutter of flags and dames.
    We liked their smiles and battles, but we never could say their names.
    The blood ran red to Bosworth and the high French lords went down;
    There was naught but a naked people under a naked crown.
    And the eyes of the King’s Servants turned terribly every way,
    And the gold of the King’s Servants rose higher every day.
    They burnt the homes of the shaven men, that had been quaint and kind,
    Till there was no bed in a monk’s house, nor food that man could find.
    The inns of God where no man paid, that were the wall of the weak,
    The King’s Servants ate them all. And still we did not speak.

    And the face of the King’s Servants grew greater than the King:
    He tricked them, and they trapped him, and stood round him in a ring.
    The new grave lords closed round him, that had eaten the abbey’s fruits,
    And the men of the new religion, with their Bibles in their boots,
    We saw their shoulders moving, to menace or discuss,
    And some were pure and some were vile; but none took heed of us.
    We saw the King as they killed him, and his face was proud and pale;
    And a few men talked of freedom, while England talked of ale.

    A war that we understood not came over the world and woke
    Americans, Frenchmen, Irish; but we knew not the things they spoke.
    They talked about rights and nature and peace and the people’s reign:
    And the squires, our masters, bade us fight; and never scorned us again.
    Weak if we be for ever, could none condemn us then;
    Men called us serfs and drudges; men knew that we were men.
    In foam and flame at Trafalgar, on Albuera plains,
    We did and died like lions, to keep ourselves in chains,
    We lay in living ruins; firing and fearing not
    The strange fierce face of the Frenchman who knew for what he fought,
    And the man who seemed to be more than man we strained against and broke;
    And we broke our own rights with him. And still we never spoke.

    Our path of glory ended; we never heard guns again.
    But the squire seemed struck in the saddle; he was foolish, as if in pain.
    He leaned on a staggering lawyer, he clutched a cringing Jew,
    He was stricken; it may be, after all, he was stricken at Waterloo.
    Or perhaps the shades of the shaven men, whose spoil is in his house,
    Come back in shining shapes at last to spoil his last carouse:
    We only know the last sad squires ride slowly towards the sea,
    And a new people takes the land: and still it is not we.

    They have given us into the hands of the new unhappy lords,
    Lords without anger and honour, who dare not carry their swords.
    They fight by shuffling papers; they have bright dead alien eyes;
    They look at our labour and laughter as a tired man looks at flies.
    And the load of their loveless pity is worse than the ancient wrongs,
    Their doors are shut in the evenings; and they know no songs.

    We hear men speaking for us of new laws strong and sweet,
    Yet is there no man speaketh as we speak in the street.
    It may be we shall rise the last as Frenchmen rose the first,
    Our wrath come after Russia’s wrath and our wrath be the worst.
    It may be we are meant to mark with our riot and our rest
    God’s scorn for all men governing. It may be beer is best.
    But we are the people of England; and we have not spoken yet.
    Smile at us, pay us, pass us. But do not quite forget.

        What an ignorant knobhead. Does he really not realise that most of the Muslims in that room are looking forward to the Islamic Caliphate and Simon Hughes would have to choose to give up his own faith, and convert to Islam, or be killed?

    No we’re not, the Normans and Vikings were not immigrants but invaders, they raped and looted, the present day invaders are doing exactly the same thing.

  4. Gunner says:

    The narrative of succeeding waves (swarms) of invaders is simply not born out by the DNA evidence. Three quarters of our British ancestors arrived as hunter/gatherers after the last ice-age. This applies in varying proportions to 88% of the Irish, 81% of the Welsh, 79% of the Cornish, 70% of the Scots and 68% of the English (I am quoting here from Stephen Oppenheimer’s book “Origins of the British”. There is a genetic division between the West and East coasts reflecting migrations from the Basque ice refuge to the West coast and Ireland and migration from north-west Europe across what was then the dry North Sea plain to the East coast. The concept that Roman, Anglo Saxon or Norman invasions dramatically changed our genetic history is simply not correct. What changed was the political ruling class in each case, but this has only had a small genetic impact with quite minor regional variations. There are for example closer links in East Anglia to the Jutes and Angles of Scandinavia and in south-east England to the Saxons from northern Germany, but the idea of large scale exterminations or westward migration of the aboriginal inhabitants of Britain is simply false.

      What the ‘we’re all immigrants’ crowd seem to forget is that throughout the history of the British Isles, changes in demographics and/or political systems were usually accompanied by violence and war. With the exception of the Glorious Revolution of 1688, I can’t think of any major political/demographic change that occurred without violence. Yet the modern liberals seem to think our latest demographic change can be achieved peaceably – which would seem to be an incredibly naive assumption.

    Today I am feeling a bit low. Today I can’t be bothered with the effort of putting together a logical, objective case for why the BBC is a danger to the country, I just know that it is. Why can’t the BBC just fuck off and leave us alone?

      “Why can’t the BBC just fuck off and leave us alone?”

      Because 1) Those school fees and that holiday home in Tuscany have to be paid for somehow 2) They want to re-educate you so that you share their progressive views .

      So what are we progressing to? A world in which everybody conforms; not only conforms to their failed theories, but to their every whim.

      Socialism (or whatever they call it these days) is just feudalism with a different religion but the same people in charge. The greatest enemy of everything they believe in is a free society. That is why progressives hate the English so much.

      Ah the smell of the Gulags in the morning.

      Freedom is a society in which when somebody knocks on the door asking for their feudal dues to the BBC you gently but firmly say get off my property and “fuck off back to Hampstead” you snobbish and ignorant little tosser.

      Do us a favour and check your privilege in at the gate and jump in the nearest river.

        With progress, Dyslexia is a case in point. If you use the Scientific Method, Dyslexia does not exist. It is a manifestation of the regressive faults of the moronic progressive mindset in left-wing Education since the 1960‘s.

        Traditional education naturally evolved. The brain did not evolve the ability to read, but uses the part of the brain used in speech. So that’s why synthetic phonics is the only method that eliminates the existence of Dyslexia, which is only a form of illiteracy caused by progressive education techniques, such as guessing, making an incorrect guess, which then is not corrected by the teacher, and therefore becomes a learned error.

        Proving that if you re-package the traditional education techniques with a new progressive sounding name, it can be brought back as a spectacularly successful so called progressive technique.

        Proving that the term “progressive” can be an Orwellian term that usually means regression, unless it is an old fashioned technique, repackaged.

        But as with real progress with democracy, UKIP are now the only political party talking about eliminating EU non-democratic governance, democratisation of the House of Lords and introducing direct democracy.

    If Muslims regard Abraham, Moses, & Jesus as prophets then obviously their God is the same one as for Christians, & even Jews. So if everyone is worshipping the same God why do Muslims get so het-up about apostates? Obvoiusly the reason is to entrap people to their clique & it’s unpleasant rules & hatred. Everything about Islam is political & not very nice.

    • Cranmer says:

      CranbrookPhil – it would be supreme irony if a Muslim group complained about something like, say, ‘Life of Brian’ because it insulted one of their prophets! But you are absolutely right. The supreme achievement of modern western civilization to my mind is that a civilized society must ‘agree to differ’ on religious questions. Centuries of bloody conflict, torture and oppression had to be endured by the peoples of Europe to reach this point – but those who are ignorant of history simply dismiss all that and allow – almost seem to welcome – the importation of religious bigotry from outside Europe.

    I am sick and tired ot these idiots. We are an Anglo Saxon Celtic people with a few other strands. The Anglo Saxons hammered this nation of England into the form I know . It is the land of my ancestors. We have endured the Normans and made them English mostly. Don’t think we ever liked them and our kings and queens have sometimes been despised sometimes not.
    I am English. I know what that means and will never speak against my people. I despise the BBC and it’s fellow travellers..
    Cornwell sounds like another useful idiot. Tell me all of you liars who were the incomers and where from between say 900AD and the mid 19th century? Come on name them. Hugenots ? Yes I know those people have become an alibi for the liars.
    This land of ours was held and shaped by the English and why why oh why should we be ashamed of this and our past?
    Time to fly the battle flag of old England and so ignorant are the liberal Guadianistas that they would not know what it was.
    While we are about it time to move our capital as well.

    • Cranmer says:

      Yes, Hugenots are often mentioned but people seem to forget that a. they were Protestants fleeing religious persecution, b. they were known for their industry, and c. they were integrated within about two generations. They didn’t set up ‘Hugenot Law’ or demand special privileges.

        Even then, any suggestion from liberals that the Huguenots merged seamlessly into English society is simply not true. There was a great deal of tension and trouble at times, which shows that even an apparently homogeous influx of relatively small numbers can cause problems.

          The key point is that the Huguenots werre a once-for-all flow, and there were very very few of them.

    I’m sick & tired of this ‘We’re all immigrants’ drivel. All these people that have gone to make up the population of Britain, Celts, Saxons etc. are all Indo-European. Their languages come from a common root. The Saxons have given us most of the common parts of the English language. They were culturally compatible, I suspect that even the pagan religions had a common root. These people all eventually became Christian. Also, at the time of the arrival of these peoples there was plenty of room. Now we are being asked to assimilate peoples of very different nature, there is a qualitative difference now, which wasn’t present before.
    I have enjoyed reading Bernard Cornwell’s Uhtred of Bebanburgh novels very much, they shed some light on our history, but to me they teach that if you are invaded by aliens you must fight back, not tolerate the invaders.

    REad something recently that said that our gene pool as a nation has long been stable and rather narrow.
    In other words-we are NOT a nation of immigrants-the DNA stock of this nation was very homogenous until very recently-it`s only in the last couple of generations that we`re getting the significant deviations from the narrow band of island stock that we are.
    And-thanks to the EU, immigration by Labour and the BBC-the dismantling of the national genotype is going on with their full consent and connivance. It`s what they want-a violent client state to vote in Tower Hamlets, to deliver a kebab laced with top heroin on the cheap-and sell the kids of hetero Brits into slavery for daring to vote UKIP once.
    They want another electorate-and we let them tinker towards that.
