BBC Children in Need investment holdings rise to £94 million. It has an additional £3.1 million cash in the bank. It has raised £790 million since it was founded in 1980.
BBC Gary Lineker’s salary is at the top of the pile with a reported annual salary of £1.8 million. Presenters Chris Evans and Graham Norton following in second and third place – both with a salary of over £1 million – while Jeremy Vine and Will.I.Am make up the top five earners.
Please give generously folks.
The BBC has £3.7bn to spend from its tax income each year (or go to prison mummy), on top of another £1.3bn of commercial and other income for the broadcaster. That’s a total of £5 bn or £5,000,000,000 to you and me.
They are just so poor and financially up the creek without a f*****g paddle.
No mention of the fact that they have refused to disclose where they do spend those donations amidst calls for transparency over the Yentob / Kids Company scandal and the allegations they have been giving money to the ‘child’ migrants in the Calais camp.
I’m noticing a marked hostility towards Children In Need this year, and like so many things it’s because the Fascist left have got their claws into it, and the people don’t like it.
Costco which used to sponsor Children in Need as their charity have now changed to Macmillan I was told because so many of their customers were opposed to it.
Everything the left touches turns to shit, like a very cursed Midas even something which should touch everyones heart such as a kids charity, but lefties can even make that so corrupt that it stinks.
CIN used to consist of a committee deciding which requests for money from outside agencies should be responded to, and in what sum.
The bBBC have a lot to answer for in terms of mass state funded publicity for a charity to the clear detriment of other charities. That said, the general public do have a case to answer in terms of a rather lazy approach to feeling virtuous.
Me? I say, choose how much you want to give to charity. Then spend time thinking about the actual charities you want to support. Then give directly.
Delegation of this task to a bBBC/CIN committee is in my opinion a lazy and poor response.
Here endeth the lesson..
Do Children in need support anger management classes as well? Because I need one….
Luvvies showing how wonderful they are when our government ships £12 billion a year to the third world…..absolutely shameful that we have to put up with this annual rattling of the stick in the swill bucket to extract more post tax income from the populace when the government should be providing these resources.
waiting to see where the money was spent, eg how much went to Kids Company to fund Camila Batmanghelidj’s house in London with a private pool so no one could see her swimming, or was used to pay for Kids Company’s staff to send their own children to private schools.
Oddly it is virtually impossible to find out where people’s money is spent.
though, thanks to investigation by Ross Clark in The Spectator, we do know it has been spent on controversial groups such as Women in Prison, which campaigns against jailing female criminals. The Children’s Legal Centre, which provided funding for Shabina Begum to sue her school as she wanted to wear the jilbāb. Clark pondered whether donors seeing cancer victims on screen would appreciate “that a slice of their donation would be going into the pockets of Cherie Blair to help a teenage girl sue her school over her refusal to wear a school uniform”
Thanks to the Daily Mail we know that callers after the deadlines donated money directly to BBC WorldWide, the commercial arm of the BBC. £2.4million out of a total of £33million was spent on admin costs. Nice work if you can get it.
I’m surprised the country isn’t awash with play buses, playground, play equipment etc that’s been purchased over the last 30 years ! Does anyone on here actually know of any ‘project’ that’s benefitted from CIN, I don’t. And how about an interview or two with kids from the 80’s and 90’s who benefitted. In today’s world CIN means something totally different from 50 years ago, so yet again I won’t be giving.
I think its seriously time to go to the other end of the spectrum and have an annual donation for EIN – Elderly In Need, we all know the reasons why. Think of the millions that could be poured into decent home and residential care, – a few hot meals are a lot cheaper than yet another playground !
Ms Mateless tells us she recently had to think twice as to whether she was offended when her gay pilates teacher called her a ‘girl’.
Apparently, on retrospect she wasn’t, you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear, however it seems to have set her thinking about whether ‘the left’ might be somehow, you know, kind of wrong to apply labels to other people, and that it might actually cause offense!
I know, it’s almost unthinkable, as it is all being done for the best of reasons of cause and really, let’s be honest, if the stupid, misogynist, white, alt-right racist, xenophobic, homophobic, Islamohobic, anti-immigration, deplorable, left behind, uneducated, old, ill informed, misled, Ukipper, Little England, far right, fascist, Brexit and Trump voters are SO F*ing moronic they can’t see that, well, that’s their fault really, isn’t it?
I particularly like this little bit of soul searching ‘self awareness’…
“The Progressive Left has perhaps made something of a study out of breaking people down into their demographic groups – their race, gender, religion, sexuality, class. They believe they are being sensitive. Culturally appropriate. Fresh thinking.
But many people don’t see themselves in that way at all.”
and this:
“It’s a code that is called “political correctness gone mad” by those who hate it, and “progressive” by those who love it.”
Well, Mz Mateless, perhaps it’s offensive because it’s just wrong, and I don’t mean ‘wrong’ in a ‘politically correct’ sense.
Wasn’t there a huge outcry and hand-wringing fest recently, when some bright spark blamed ‘Chattanooga choo-choo’ for everything phobic, (including Brexit and probably Mr Trump of course)?
Funnily enough, in Gambia ” Boy” is a common friendly greeting between 2 young black Gambians. Used in different context, it is an insult. But, as a Toubab ( Whitey ) , I tend to avoid the word altogether.
and if she was in America with a bunch of black women and they referred to her with the grammatically incorrect term “girlfriend”
..would she find that offensive ?
The upshot is that her gay white yoga teacher cannot be offensive by saying “girl”
Cos bullying by taking offence
………….can only be done to HETEROSEXUAL WHITE MEN
The BBC give much coverage to a crisis in the provision of care to the elderly. It may well be the case that the cost to the taxpayer should incease. But is the BBC more interested in pressuring the Tory govenment rather than just wanting spending increased? I ask because the service is the responsibility of local councils, but the BBC never asks local government representatives (the majority of big councils being in Labour control) why they are not proposing increasing the council tax to meet the demands they have identified.
In the current year councils were free to increase the council tax by 4%, a general uplift of 2% and a further 2% specifically for care costs. Increasing the council tax above that threshold would require the approval of local residents (not just council tax payers) in a local referendum. Do local politicians & the BBC know that, for all the sympathetic noises, when it comes to increased bills folk would say NO. Better therefore to pile pressure on the government who are already spending far in excess of their tax receipts.
Maybe we should have “luvvies in need” when all the luvvies (who are worried about their profile since the jungle closed) Can get sick children to help them get back in the public eye.
This is only half the story and is rather misleading, intentionally, or not.
Back in the late 90s I worked for one of the Research Councils, for those who aren’t aware what the Quangos called Research Councils actually do, their main role is dividing up the Government’s Research Budget between academics working in higher education. There are, or were, several Research Councils: Medical, Engineering and Physical Sciences etc… but, I think they all use, or used, a ‘peer review’ process to decide who got what share of the money and generally carried out a thankless, but important role.
Anyway, getting OT a bit, my point is when I was working there (Bliar’s day – he hated ‘nasty, dirty’ science and engineering), the Government ‘pot’ (of gold) was rapidly shrinking, and University depts to do with applied Science and Engineering were getting shut down. This was before the introduction of tuition fees and many Uni depts were dependent on research funding to some degree.
Then EU funding started being promoted instead of UK Government funding, the principle being the old we pay the EU and the EU decides how we spend the ‘rebate’ they give us back, and let’s be honest the Europeans generally hold Science and Engineering in higher regard than British Politicians. This was about the time I moved on, so I’m not entirely sure how it actually panned out, but I do know a lot of people at the Research Councils lost their jobs in the end as a new approach was taken to channel funding from British taxpayers to Brussels and then to UK researchers.
The EU funding was a lifeline for hard pressed Science and Engineering research at the time, without it, given Blair’s obsession with dumbed down, ‘bums on seats’ higher education and most Universities obsession with (fee paying) foreign students, especially on cheap to run, popular Arts degrees, Universities were at risk of turning into expensive finishing schools for the spoilt offspring of Chinese factory owners and politicians… oh hang on a minute…
My point is, the EU may currently be funding research in many of our Universities, but less than two decades ago it was the UK Government who paid for this and had the infrastructure in place to do so. At least some of that infrastructure is still there, and the ‘Research Spend’ was only ever a small fraction of the money we gave to the EU anyway being given back to us, so really all that needs to happen is a return to pre-Blair methods – not a great challenge compared to some thrown up by Brexit.
As for wanting ‘special visas’ for foreign researchers, that’s nothing new either. I’m quite sure most of the people calling for a reduction in immigration weren’t thinking about maybe a couple of thousand Engineering and Science PhD students and visiting academics staying in the UK, the vast majority of whom return home at the end of their project, or go on to a better paid job in Germany or the US, anyway.
BBC on Brexit Science Funding anxiety
#1 The BBC doesn’t remember that the Gov took the money off the science budget to give to the EU who then gave part back to UK science
….And
#2 “Free movement enables UK institutions to attract the best scientists from Europe.”
Yes but
A proper work-visa system would enable UK institutions to attract the best scientists from all over the WORLD
===========
Em I thought SUSTAINABLE was the buzzword ?
surely if your science system is sustainable then out of 1,000 projects X number will pay off to be able to fund rthe next lot of 1,000 projects ?
Gax,
Are you sure about this because when you go to complete the form and put in the UK it comes out as United Kinadom. Seems an odd mistake for even the gov to make.
I know but education and precision is not what it was.
If you just go search UK Government Petitions you get it that way but that is the correct address:- https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/159140
So Jefferson University USA students want all references to the name removed from buildings, correspondence etc., because around 250 years ago he had some slaves.
Book burning and expunging people from history books can’t be too far away?
Not BBC specific but I saw The New European newpapaer for sale in the supermarket earlier in Birmingham.
Refugees from reality and The Real World write for it . It cites Steve Richards, Bonnie Greer to name but two. Lucky us, only £2.00 and looking very much like a Berliner layout as in the Guardian/Observer papers.
Only been going since July or certainly soon after we voted to leave the E.U
My point-anybody else remember such a paper getting out of the blocks, so easily and clearly at such expense?
And one with such a mono-agenda. Namely get us back into the European Union!
If Soros and the EU are not funding this, I`d be surprised as in a Gina Miller front for the Remain Bloc of Decent Thinking.
It’s aimed at remoaners
so for advertisers it’s useful as they get straight to a demographic which is gullible.
4th of Nov
“The New European, launched as a “pop-up” title launched in nine days to capitalise on the pro-remain market is profitable with a paid-circulation of about 25,000, fuelled by scoops from Alistair Campbell and Tony Blair.”
“The New European is a pop-up newspaper for a zeitgeist moment in British political and social history. The New European is not aligned with old political divisions but with an enthusiasm and love for Europe; a new quality paper that gives voice to the values of the 48%.”
Radio 4 ‘Today’ the rise of the ‘far’ right all across Europe is causing concern, so they wheel on a couple of left wing activists to support their ridiculous claims.
So who are these ‘far’ right groups? Imagined images of skinheads with banners shouting and throwing bottle at the Police.
Yet it’s nothing like that at all. The so called ‘far’ right are actually named as UKIP, France’s Front Nationale, and Italy’s Five Star movement.
It is outrageous that the far left BBC can show ‘concern’that voters might choose to exercise their democratic right in voting for a legitimate political party !
I can imagine this being discussed around the groaning dinner tables of Hampstead and Islington but the way they present it without any profile of the parties would have you thinking that they are some how foreign clones of the BNP !
There was no introspection during the piece that this might be a reaction to the far left Political Correct extremism we have endured over the last two decades.
Nor has there been any kind of report which I have heard about the speech by the Prime Minister of France in which he admitted that Europes political leaders have not been listening to the people, but doing what they wanted instead.
Spot on Thoughtful.
I think the ordinary people of the West are sick and tired of seeing their countries , culture civilisation , threatened by mass migration. They are waking up to the fact that the ruling liberal left elite have pursued Globalism at the expense of the ordinary people and by coupling free trade with mass migration not only have they impoverished their own people but they have robbed them of their countries and culture and destablised and endangered their societies. The liberal left , who have held power for 30 years, have done immense damage to the West. They have been kept in power by a number of factors , not the least of which is the lies and propaganda of the MSM. People are using the democratic process to fight back. But if people think that by voting for Brexit or Trump they have won the war they have another think coming. The elite will fight hard to retain their power and will try all manner of dirty tricks, repression of the People’s leaders, attacks on free speech , curtailment of press freedom . We already see examples of these across Europe and the UK. The elite know that by resorting to identity politics time is on their side. They have imported millions and millions of aliens into the West and in 20 or 30 years the aliens will outnumber the Westeners and democratic politics will be useless. In the US the main migration has come from Christian Mexico but in Europe it is almost exclusively from Islamic countries and so much more alien and dangerous. Time is short to do anything to reverse the inevitable demographic trend that leads to the sunset of Europe.
Yes and it’s all migration with no emigration. Migrant culture must be preserved, promoted and facilitated BUT our culture may not.
But I can a future when some Western countries have become unliveable cess-pits and ‘pioneers’ will set out to recolonize the ‘vacated’ parts of the globe.
I joined the BNP seven or eight years ago when there was no hope, and I could see the way things were going. I attended quite a few meetings. Not once did I hear a racist comment. After Nick Griffin blew it, by being unprepared on QT, I decided to leave the country. Best move I ever made. From far away the UK seems like a madhouse (barring Brexit). And while I’m on the subject of Nick Griffin, don’t forget he was tried and acquitted twice for saying that Muslim rape gangs were operating in Rochdale.
Brexit Remoaner alert!
BBC London 1pm news
£40 million to be spent on cancer research in London hospitals.
But its just really another Brexit doom and gloom story.
Queue academic bemoaning the possible future loss of research grants from the EU.
He may be an academic but he’s still thick. When we don’t have to pay nett £12bn a year subsidy to most of the other EU countries we will be able ….errrr….. to spend even more on our own research !!!!!!
How hard is that? And I don’t even rate a cozy public sector job (and then taxpayer funded pension) for life.
Unbelievable! The man who set fire to women and children in the bank is an asylum seeker, and a Muslim to boot. That’s a a surprise. But not to worry, BBC haven’t disclosed such details.
I seem to remember that under the leadership of Merkel, the German Government reduced the qualifying period to become a German citizen from five years to three. The only hope for Germany is, it appears, to reduce the three years still further to, say 12 months and let ‘Free Movement’ legally spread the load. So watch out for this change. Meanwhile, new numbers available for 2016 (short of a full year): http://newobserveronline.com/europe-invaders-2016-2015/
1. Be Persons of Action
First, this means, if YOU are 18-years-old or older, you should have voted. Many protestors don’t even vote.
2. State Your Grievances
A mature adult doesn’t simply complain, they point out a wrong and offer a real solution. The “Occupy” movement collapsed because they didn’t even know what they wanted.
3. Act Like ‘Gentlemen’
Okay, “gentleman” is considered to be a bad word by the PC brigade and the Left, but you know what, that’s part of the problem. By being polite a person isn’t just showing respect for others, they are showing respect for themselves. And if you think it’s not ‘right on’ to be a “gentleman”, you need to do some reading. Gentlemen are honourable, courageous folks who fight for good not chaos.
4. Keep the Moral High-Ground
If being a gentleman is too politically incorrect, think Gandhi. Protest peacefully. A lot of people voted for Brexit and for Trump. If your goals are honourable and just, perhaps you can sway a larger number of the population to your cause.
5. Respect the Police
This isn’t the Vietnam era or the ‘Peasants Revolt’. If you were assaulted would you want the Police to be there? Police officers have partners and children and are members of the communities they serve. They also don’t set the policies.
6. Elect Leaders or Spokespersons
If you want to be taken seriously, be serious. Do you want that guy who just kicked in a shop window to speak for you?
7. Don’t Accept Violence
Consider the military code, as it is brilliant for its brevity: “A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do.” You are not an individual rebelling against a fascist regime; you are a free citizen who should know that freedom isn’t free. Act like it.
9. Follow Through
A mature person—says what they mean and follows through. Of course, this means you actually have to know what you want. If it’s only not to have a Brexit or a President Trump, then you must wait for the next election; otherwise, what you’re advocating for isn’t a peaceful, but a revolution that upends everything.
The cost of so-called, “Free Speech” in the Netherlands? See what Geert Wilders has to say about his fine of 5000 Euros. https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9354/geert-wilders-prosecutor
I imagine it will be ‘pay-back’ time when Geert is put into power. The sooner the better in my view. Another nail in the coffin of the EU elite.
If the Pro-Establishment youth do not tolerate “Free Speech“, then all they have to do is turn violent.
So if someone is paid by George Soros to turn violent at Speakers Corner, the police are obliged by the law to arrest the speaker for inciting violence.
George Soros lives ten miles north of Trump Tower.
Might be able to take more notice if they could decide:-
Global Warming will cause this country to get warmer?
Global Warming will cause this country to get colder?
Global Warming will cause this country to sink beneath the waves?
Difficult to plan for all those. I still remember the panic a few years ago for making drought resistant, Mediterranean gardens – that worked out really well ….. not.
I could go on and on. Now, I know I’m not going to change the minds of any of the True Believers…those who read all of Reverend Al’s sermons, and say things like, “You know, global warming can mean warmer OR colder, wetter OR drier, cloudier OR sunnier, windier OR calmer, …”. Can I get an ‘amen’?? But I hope I can still save a few of those out there who are still capable of independent reasoning and thought. – Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.
Gore’s claim of snow being “consistent” with global warming is also at odds with is Oscar Winning 2006 film “An Inconvenient Truth.” Gore never once warned of record cold and increasing snowfalls as a consequence of man-made global warming in that film. But Gore has hyped the lack of snow as “evidence” for man-made global warming.
THIS IS RACIST…RACIST. Unfair to other faiths terrorist such as Buddhist Hindus
Sikhs Jewish and Christian terrorists. What next… will they demand that names be omitted such as Mohammed. Whoops, cross that out. Utter utter madness!!
In France, Muslim terrorists are never Muslim terrorists, but “lunatics,” “maniacs” and “youths”. (BBC setting the lead again…well done BBC) To attack freedom of the press and freedom of speech is not anti-hate speech; it is submission. By following these recommendations, the British government would place Muslim organizations in a kind of monopoly position: they would become the only source of information about themselves. It is the perfect totalitarian information order.
Headline from 1941? Somehow I don’t think so.
‘Some bombers from somewhere continue to nightly pound London.
We can’t be sure those Germans were Nazis and don’t wish to cause offence!
Remember, Germany the nation of peace.’
“On October 4, 2016, the ECRI released a report dedicated only to Britain. The report said:”
“So, according to the ECRI and scholars of Teesside University, when Muslim jihadists murder people and the press reports that killers are Muslims, the press, and not Islamists, is encouraging “Islamophobic incidents” in Britain.”
Doh ! so If jihadists DIDN’T murder people, there’d be no backlash.
..and even if they did, it would be great if fellow Muslims stepped forward and were reported BY THE PRESS saying “that attack is not in my my name, but I’m still sorry, it’s completely wrong and me and my friends are going to step forward and do what we can to help..are gonna be on the lookout to get to the nutters early so we cab stop future attacks”
… but no we get this Retreat into the pack as Muslims become fearful of speaking up for fear of other Muslims attacking them, feeling its safer to go into victim mode, Cos neither the terrorists who non-Muslims are going to get them for saying that”
gatestoneinstitute say
“This is the moment where hate speech laws become a greater threat to democracy and freedom of speech than the hate speech itself. Prohibiting journalists from naming “Islamic terrorism,” and encouraging them to hide the association of Muslims with terrorism, is an attempt to misrepresent the truth”
The British government did not fall into the trap, and firmly rebuffed ECRI’s demands. It told the European council body:
“The Government is committed to a free and open press and does not interfere with what the press does and does not publish, as long as the press abides by the law.”
BUT it makes me wonder if is worth FOIAing the BBC to ask if they have a policy based on these EU rules.
Am I imagining it or has the bbc coverage of the Jo Cox killer trial just gone over the top?
When muslims murder innocent people, the mental health card is played, evil islam is trumped and the bbc reporting game is over.
In the coverage of Jo Cox the murderer had mental health issues but they have mysteriously been swept under the carpet by the bbc. Why oh why did he have to say “Britain first” because now she is a brexit martyr and the bbc are on a roll and we’ll never hear the end of it.
“alluha akhbar” (more common than “Britain first” where murder is concerned) effectively means “allah first” but is not, in the eyes of the bbc, a pre-cursor to a soul-searching, heart on sleeve report. Quite the opposite in fact – it’s a cue for all bbc reporters to put heads in sand and pretend it never happened.
Well worth watching any news item out of Syria, if only to count how often “Allah Akhbar” is shouted out, as they find some kid in the rubble.
They shout the same as they`re lobbing bombs at us as well.
But in last nights two minute clip, counted eight “Allah Akhbars”-Our God is greater than Yours” is the translation as I understand it.
Good Old Channel 4.
That’s because they only report from ‘rebel held’Eastern Aleppo. Next time notice how all men have military fatigues on their lower half, how all the women have covered heads ? This is the ISIS stronghold, and the lickspittle lefty media rush to promote their side only.
No thread on the famously unbiased question time panel show?
A couple of good comments from the audience but a poor panel.
One thing which keeps on turning up is the remoaners only point they feel they can make to accuse the leavers of telling lies during the campaign. This is the bus message.
Do I remember correctly that the message said £350 million COULD go to the NHS or could be better used going to the NHS instead of sending it to the eu.
Why do the remoaners keep saying that the leavers broke their promise or lied.
They say that leave said £350 million a week would go to the NHS from June 24th. That is how they say it even though it will be more than another two years before we even may leave.
Their throwaway remark of saying we lied when we said that about the 350 never seems to be contested.
Why not.
There are so many questions that are never asked and so many remoaners lies left unchallenged. Why doesn’t someone ask.
For instance, why is the prerogative illegal for triggering article 50 yet ok for signing Lisbon and the other treaties?
The earliest date that it could be proved to be true is on the 8th April 2019. From that date we could have a “£350 million a week extra to the NHS” law in place that could become active on that date, the first day after the first week that we could stop paying the EU.
I think Remainers are Remainers because they have an inferior thinking ability. Its why they confuse assumptions with facts when they talk about Climate Change, and think that predictions are facts, until they fail to become true, and then they forget the predictions (such as Polls) even existed in the first place.
Also they seem to think that predictions of Climate are more reliable than Weather, especially now that 100 year predictions mean they will be dead when proven wrong, unlike all those ten year predictions made before 2006.
But yes, my God, its certainty easy to prove that almost all people who work at the BBC are Scientifically proven morons.
The lie about so-called hate crimes increasing since Brexit vote is another lie. Bizarrely perpetuated on the so-called comedy Now Show. They thoughtfully added the same thing about the Trump victory.
Nothing about the Youtube video of the Trump supporter getting a kicking however…
The theme of this post is slightly OT, but revolves around ‘balance’, so beloved of the BBC, so I hope worthy.
Just got an email from ‘Media Lens’. I sometimes cite them here because they don’t like the BBC either. Usually for not being left enough, but often because they do point out when the BBC’s reporting is utter pants.
They might wish to look in the mirror today:
‘When the likes of Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, Bashar Assad, and now Donald Trump, are declared the latest ‘New Hitler’, we learn little except that they are enemies of the establishment.
Do… ‘we’? The Godwin of conflation has a nightly laugh at that one.
Anyhoo, back to Aunty’s favourite roving, or is it raving blonde, and defo one gunning for Cathy newsman’s coveted slot (on the TV schedules, I hasten to qualify):

Why would BBC’s Katty Kay tell US TV viewers that Brits regret voting Brexit ?
Cos LeftMob live in such a BUBBLEWORLD that they believe their own lies.
Here’s the moment that Michael Moore makes the same wacky claim
“You see they voted and then signed a petition for a re-vote”
Isn’t it interesting that Pudsey the bear has one eye covered. I used to laugh at conspiracy sites, but this an image I’m suddenly seeing more and more of in the MSM.
To hold a door open for a woman is ‘micro aggression’ but if I let the door slam in her face, is that ‘misogynistic assault’?
Also, if I should hold a door open for a man, who turns out to be gay – am I being ‘homophobic micro aggressive’ or not, or what? All gets very complicated and when it comes to doors and cross dressers???
Something which keeps me awake at night is worrying what the correct, progressive PC code is if I meet someone else at a doorway.
I mean, what if:
1. It’s a woman? Do I hold the door for her, or not, if she’s not a progressive feminist then I might even get a smile, or a thank you, if I do, but if she IS a progressive feminist then I might get a mouthful of foul language, and maybe even a visit from the police, and could be charged with sexual harassment, arrested, processed, criminal record, registered sex offender, charged with ‘hate crime’?! Who knows… not worth the risk, best to let it shut in any woman’s face… and make sure it’s a nice definite slam too, in case she thinks you were thinking about holding it for her, because that’s probably some form of ‘hate crime’ too.
2. It’s a man? Well, that’s easy, I hold the door for him and usually get a thanks for it… but, hold on, what if it’s a progressive feminist who looks like a man?! Or a transgender man who is in the process of becoming a progressive feminist woman err… thing ?!! Too much to think about there and not safe to jump to conclusions, best to let it shut in his.. err… her… err…hes(?) face… just to be safe.
3. But, what if it’s a man who was a woman, who is now a man? Or a man and a woman at the same time? Or a group of women, some progressive feminists, some not?! err…
Oh, for God’s sake if you find yourself in a doorway when someone else is approaching just slam the door in their face fast and run!
Political Correctness ??? I’m just thankful to hear PLEASE and THANK YOU uttered. The adverts and dramas are awash with kids (and adults) who ask for something without saying the ‘magic’ word. “Can I have…..” “have you got…..” – so where did the scriptwriters learn their lack of manners one wonders, at their parents knee perhaps ?
Funny how being offensive is leapt upon from a great height, but pull someone up for not saying PLEASE or THANK YOU and you could be speaking a different language with the looks you get.
Top Gear Two launched today…sorry, that should be (‘The Grand Tour’) to widespread positive reviews from critics and fans alike.
Positive, that is, with the exception of the BBC’s Arts Critic, Will Gompertz who described it as ‘over the top’ and ‘uncomfortably hubristic’.
Clarkson, May and Hammond will no doubt be happy with the response…not least for the fact that those grapes are tasting particularly sour in Broadcasting House today.
Re: johnnythefish post
That’s strange because I can’t remember the far left bbbc mentioning the cricket when they thrashed bangladesh…It seems to me that the far left bbbc only include the cricket in the news agenda if our cricketing gentlemen are not doing so well(which isn’t very often these days)……………Is it me?
Still, I’m looking forward to 3rd December at Twickers when our rugby playing gentlemen see off our antipodean colleagues…lol
The Left hate cricket because, in their ignorance, they still think it is an elitist sport and the rules are difficult and it is too long for their 2 minute attention span.
The fact that this great game has lifted many poor people of of poverty is of no concern to Leftists as they do not give a damn about poor people.
England have a bad day and it is big news. England have a good day and it is reported grudgingly with po faces as if someone has died. The BBC , so transparent but not accountable.
Another example, Grant, of how out of touch the BBC are with working class life as it used to be. When I was a lad the summer used to see the chalking of wickets on any wall we could find with an old tennis racket for a bat which we used to knock a threadbare tennis ball up and down the street. Every primary school played cricket and there were keenly-fought inter-school matches.
Another chunk of our history re-shaped to fit the BBC narrative, simply by being ignored.
Lest any be in any doubt just how truly… vital.. the BBC is…
Holy shit, it's just over a week since Trump was elected and the fashion industry hasn't yet provided a full line of clothes? @leguapehttps://t.co/dPrKNarYKp
17:10 World Service – The presenter is asking in subtle way, how we can have Globalism without ticking off the jobless and those on stagnating wages?
She’s asking a ex Obama aide who says, “Of course we can. We’re not going to throw out our narrative because of a few hundred thousand votes in a couple of states.”
They just don’t get it.
Anyway, WTF is Globalisation? Is it over the rainbow or thru’ a wardrobe?
Or is it a way of a few people screwing over a lot of people?
Obama declares he will do nothing to stop the protestors (re run of Fergusson etc?)
Hmmm…. Trump’s Special Prosecutor is only a phone call away and there’s so much evidence out there from the IRS to the Clinton Foundation and on and on.
Thank you Guest Who.
Noted this lads answers
1. ” But I`ve heard figures that say”
2. ” But our speaker tonight was an undocumented migrant since three months old”
3. Trump will round up 11 million migrants and send them packing, so caan we focus on that”
4. ” There is no connection between low wages and floods of illegals, and the Big Corporations who back it-in fact we boycott them”
5. Freedom, dignity and meatloaf for all”(or something like).
Was it 1988 when the USA stopped educating its students and turning them all into the likes of gullible, thick, cliche ridden, uneducated and reflex clots like Alex?
And they sat Trump supporters are thick. Have they heard themselves recently?
This is also good from Tucker Carlson: interviewing a liberal, journalism professor about all the “safe spaces” and “support” students have been needing in the wake of Trump’s victory.
Anyone else find it strange that all during the year, the moment the bbc have a children’s story or a school visit, it’s diversity city with muslim children (especially girls) always interviewed first.
The moment Children In Need comes around the diversity vanishes. There isn’t a muslim to be seen, it’s all about white children for some reason. Suddenly muslims are not good press because the bbc want to maximise the white population’s money???????????
Seismic……. its the same during exam results time, here in the London area of the Beeb there are clearly no schools with white children (what about where you live ?), its always mixed race, hijab wearing girls, and Black British who are pounced upon with the microphone.
Like I said in a previous post, perhaps we’ve got the stats wrong and its the white population who are 14% of the total headcount, and not the B & EM’s !!!!
Brissles, I live in North-west Kent 15 miles outside the M25. I must say that here the local Indian immigrants and second generation Indian families have integrated almost seamlessly with the indigenous Anglo-saxon tribes and I have no issue with them. The same can’t be said however about the eastern Europeans whom seem to do nothing else apart from congregating in the town centre and confuse people as to what they are actually doing here. I suspect that the EU system and the magnetic attraction of ridiculous benefits has been too much to resist.
The observation about muslims was more of national one and just highlights the liberal objective of disrupting the status quo by any desperate means that they have at their disposal. A corrupt and sympathetic bbc media is an obvious ally.
Seismic…. how our lives have changed during the last 50 years. I was brought up in East Kent, and the only non-white faces we saw were in our school books or black and white films on the tele. ‘Eastern Europeans’ was a phrase we never heard of, we still learned about Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and the first black people we saw (or ‘coloured’ as it was a more polite term used back then) was when the local airbase at Manston was occupied by the American Air force. What insular lives we led back then – almost Miss Marple land.
And they do not want any spotlight on muslim abuse of muslim chidren. Only white men abuse children. Muslims never do. ” Four legs good, two legs bad “.
Expect divorce rates in the Uk and US to start soaring soon if an article in todays Guardian is anything to go by!
The Guardian-reading distaff side of a young couple with a three-year-old daughter asks the advice of readers as to what she should do now that her husband (male) has lurched to the political right with all the attendant horrors that must certainly ensue.
Leave him (as in kick him out) seems to be well ahead in the popular vote when I last looked and irespective of the outcome of this specific case does not bode well for a lot of relationships in the future.
Binary politics with its emphasis on identity and an adamantine certainty is now stamping itself into the domestic scene and the prognosis is not good for a harmonious family life.
God help us and especially the many young lives that are going to be turned upside-down as a result of the relentless application of divisive philosophies of the neo-left over many years.

“Globalisation:- the process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale.”
So, it’s about businesses becoming multi national. Doesn’t sound particularly Left Wing or something that requires mass migration or the suppression of indigenous populations – or maybe I’m not understanding?
I know that it`s called Biased BBC.
And this is ITV I`m about to mention. But maybe we need to have examples of things like the “New European” question in our minds so we can see the monocultural aspect og the elites fight against us.
The EU and Soros pay for what WE aren`t tapped up to pay for.
Just heard ITV fuss about the importing of dangerous Chinese cigarettes.
With a straight face, our liberal reporter shows us a Blunkett Bobby in a fire blanket with his face up near the arse of his beagle who`s sniffing for snout in a Lambeth pizza box or such.
Yes, this is NOT the picture-but for our purposes it might as well be.
For they will not be mocked-will not see just how stupid and funny they are.
After all these years-it turns out that our ciggies are the safest in the world.
So why import illegal Richman fags that burn faster if you drop a dimp down the back of that sofa?
But British Fags-safest yet known!
Total madness-but NO humour at all.
Now that bugs me.
So Soros likes something that Trump likes , and so does the ” best president America never had ” Hillary Clinton . They like living on the Eastern Seaboard . They have something in common .
Now in the BBC’s extrapolated world of right wing conspiracy , if you have one thing in common , you have everything in common . So Soros and Clinton are misogynist , racist etc .
I have no doubt that the EU will demand that we continue to pay for all sorts of things. It’s called a negotiating position. I used to be annoyed by the BBC presenting every EU demand as something that we will have no choice but to conceed, but I now see the BBC reports as helpful in consolidating the mood for Brexit. After all, if the EU hate us as much as the BBC claim we would be idiots to want to Remain.
Hey BBC, I just tuned in for the news on your News Channel and caught – for about the third time – your trailer for Black and British A Forgotten History.
Well, firstly, job done – I’m unlikely to forget that you have made this, no doubt, worthy documentary.
But just now wasn’t that a clip of scandal-hit Baroness Scotland appearing as a talking head in your show?
‘After co-founding a successful legal chambers, she appeared to be on course to become a High Court judge, but her talents had caught Tony Blair’s eye and in 1997 her career changed when she was made a Labour peer’
Can’t the BBC find a better black role model than this woman?
Given the Twitter assault on free speech, make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel here! https://t.co/CtPG9IHqRz— David Vance (@DVATW) 18 November 2016
Here is a good article by Pat Buchanan on Obama’s vision of the future, elucidated on his final european trip as POTUS and what the facts indicate may be the real future.
After ‘Any Questions?’ ( = a let’s bash Trump & Farage fest with Lord Blunkett, some Irish-sounding woman called Emu McBride, a Tory and Dimbleby minor) we had the usual soi-disant-liberal Lefty anti-Trump piece from Adam Gopnik, on whom the BBC seems very keen.
Well, the unthinkable (for Gopnik anyway) had happened and Trump had won! It was inevitable, he said, that after eight years of liberal progressive presidency from Obama, the Republicans would get back in, and if not in 2016 then the pendulum would have swung back to them in 2020 [isn’t democracy a bitch!] People had to accept the result [I sensed all the ‘buts’ coming]. But would liberal universalism now give way to narrow identity politics? Would free speech be restricted? What of Obamacare?
Nothing about the threat Hillary Clinton posed to free speech (e.g. Breitbart) and the corrupt MSM’s whitewashing of her and Obama. Nothing about Obama’s presidential orders to force things through Congress. Nothing about the USD 20 trillion of debt incurred. Nothing on Islamic immigration, Huma Abedin and Wikileaks. No, everything was rosy for the East Coast liberal Gopnik until Donald threatened to ruin it all. Staggering one-sided rubbish.
@Mustapha Sheikup al-Beeb
“It’s intended to BALANCE the edition he did just before the election”
(which was fully of seething bias , hate and lies against Trump)
My lefty friend actually believes that,I quoted,
Once upon a time there was a wise and virtuous leader who had to leave his people , whereupon a horrible person tricked his way into being the new leader and undid all the good things the virtuous leader had done . The horrible person was racist , misogynist , and every other attribute that right thinking people abhor , and democracy and niceness and good weather were doomed .
BBC and Guardian narrative .
Because that’s all we’re getting . A narrative defined by them so they can put in the bits they like and omit the bits they don’t fit their narrative , like facts .
The Now Show as demonstrated last night, has clearly been given the green light by the BBC to completely remove any pretence at political balance. Last night was like full on no holds barred anti-Trump, anti-anything not leftard. They even managed to find an opportunity to comment on the “irony” that the winners of WW2 were now right-wing nationalists and the last beacon of liberal democracy is the loser (i.e. the ever popular Mrs Merkel. You truly could not make this up!
Just to top it off, Breibart was (subtly) included as a “Fake News site” in their semi-serious but not at all amusing pseudo-analysis report section. Obviously this is the new tack being taken to deal with the rise in popularity of that and similar sites. How long until this one gets singled out as a FNS… LOL!
I am in a state of shock. On the Today programme from about 0815, I heard a wholly fair interview with Owen Paterson, conducted by Justin Webb, on the subject of Brexit and the Supreme Court appeal. There were no sneering remarks, no traps, no voice inflexions to persuade the listener that the guest is speaking nonsense (all too common on the toady programme), no accusations of inconsistency based on some remark made years ago, and no disruptive interruptions. My guess is that this happy state of affairs will not last, and the programme will quickly revert to its usual treatment of those on the ‘slight-right’ and brexiteers.
Martin, I agree with your point about Webb being civilised but I think that this was because Patterson, although a leaver, was in this case agreeing that the Government should back down over challenging the High Court Article 50 ruling. The BBC loved that judgment and the lefty pro EU judiciary is very much in the BBC camp on political ideology. Note the comments by Lady Hale and the wife of Lord Neuberger on referendum and Brexit issues. That’s two out of the 12 judges on the Supreme Court that we know are biased. But there will be far more than that.
Yes, I agree with you about the special circumstances pertaining. I do think that a Supreme Court appeal is extremely risky, and could severely curtail the government’s actions on Brexit, even ruling that it cannot go ahead unless both the Scottish and Welsh government agree. On the basis of gut instinct only, I think both the Garnier group and Paterson are right to suggest that the government would be wise to re-consider an appeal.
MartinW, lose, lose, lose, all the way along the process advancing toward submitting the Art.50 application. Looks like the Supreme Court is likely a ‘thumbs down’ as well. We shall see. All part of the fantasy that: ‘Brexit Means Brexit’ – ‘we are doing all we can to achieve that end, but…….. events just keep arising to deter us…..’. For our part, we no longer wish to chastise the House of Lords despite them stating categorically that they will seriously hinder any proposed legislation involved in the exit. Really, it all stinks to high heaven!

It’s a philosophy of failure.

Here endeth the lesson..

waiting to see where the money was spent, eg how much went to Kids Company to fund Camila Batmanghelidj’s house in London with a private pool so no one could see her swimming, or was used to pay for Kids Company’s staff to send their own children to private schools.
Oddly I am not donating.

Oh so when the progressive left call anyone opposing mass immigration “Waycist” they are being sensitive.

BBC Misleading about Scientific Research Funding
BBC Webshite:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-38016191

Meanwhile, new numbers available for 2016 (short of a full year):

Advice to Students and Other Protestors:-

GLOBAL WARMING CAUSES LESSMORE SNOW
I could go on and on. Now, I know I’m not going to change the minds of any of the True Believers…those who read all of Reverend Al’s sermons, and say things like, “You know, global warming can mean warmer OR colder, wetter OR drier, cloudier OR sunnier, windier OR calmer, …”. Can I get an ‘amen’?? But I hope I can still save a few of those out there who are still capable of independent reasoning and thought. – Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.
http://hockeyschtick.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/global-warming-causes-lessmore-snow.html

This is the moment where hate speech laws become a greater threat to democracy and freedom of speech than hate speech itself.
European Union Orders British Press NOT to Report when Terrorists are Muslims
https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/9190/media-censorship-muslims-terrorists..

Most important this is the UK govt said “NO”
“On October 4, 2016, the ECRI released a report dedicated only to Britain.

The moment Children In Need comes around the diversity vanishes. There isn’t a muslim to be seen, it’s all about white children for some reason. Suddenly muslims are not good press because the bbc want to maximise the white population’s money???????????

Here’s the link if you can stomach it:

The poor little snowflake does not seem to understand that her view of the world is exactly that -her view. It is not reality and it is not immune from challenge. Typical of the Guardian .

Did you know that George Soros lives ten miles north of Trump Tower, and Hillary Clinton lives 10 miles north of George Soros.
So the Anti-Trump marches must start 20 miles north of Manhattan, and pick up their cash payments half way to Trump Tower.

Wouldn’t it be great, Richard, if the Donald swapped Soros (Russian arrest warrant out for him) for Snowden (no extradition from Russia to US)

Absolute drivelling conjecture by the anti-Brexit Left/BBC.
BBC Editor: “Quick, I need an anti-Brexit feature!! Facts not needed, make it up!”

We know Patricia Scotland was a Blairite crony from her BBC profile

‘After co-founding a successful legal chambers, she appeared to be on course to become a High Court judge, but her talents had caught Tony Blair’s eye and in 1997 her career changed when she was made a Labour peer’
Can’t the BBC find a better black role model than this woman?

I trust the BBC called the ambulance for Webb?
