More Trump (and Pence) hammering this morning. I am heartily sick of the BBC chortling over ANY perceived shortcoming of Trump’s that they can find (or should I say, drag up). It’s not news, any more (mind you, with the BBC, it never was in the first place). The elections is over and done with, they lost, Trump won, and however much they try to besmirch him, he ain’t going anywhere, but upwards.

Mind you many of the others have negative scores, including one 21st century resident of No.10, who I gather, may be threatening to make a comeback.

    A pre-emptive strike here folks.

This morning I switched on my computer and several of my meteorological friends from around the World had emailed me to ask “what the hell?” and have asked me to comment. A report from the Washington Post has stated that the Arctic temperatures have increased very recently to be 20, then 30, then 36 degrees ABOVE a short term average. This article released by the Washington Post into the internet has gone “viral” since, so expect news reports to slip this devasting news on Arctic increase in temperatures at every bulletin.
Now, anyone with a meteorological bent would raise an eyebrow or two at this “report” as a 30 degree increase in temperature, is, to put it mildly, staggering. I monitor the Norther Hemisphere temperatures on a daily basis and I can assure you, no such thing has or is happening.
So I looked a little deeper into the story line, because that is what it is, a story.
The University of Maine have a web site called “Climate Reanalyzer” which in itself should set off alarm bells and from within this web site they have just released data from the Danish Meteorological Institute showing their empirical temperature data sets of the Arctic, and true enough, they do show a short term spike of an increase of between 20 and 30 Degrees and this has been picked up by a reporter at the Washington Post. What the numpties at the Washington Post don’t understand is that the temperature shown in the chart, by the Danish M.I. is in degrees KELVIN and not CELSIUS. There is a huge difference between KELVIN and CELSIUS, so much of a difference, that the recent increase is only about 10 degrees CELSIUS which is a normal event in the Arctic when a warm front/air mass moves over it.
The media and internet have all gone into Hyper drive about the false temperature increase and if the BBC will pick up on it expect the same hysterical reporting.
I have tried to get info out into the Internet explaining the error of their ways. Let see what happens.

I can’t make any sense of what you are saying. One degree change on the Celsius scale is exactly the same as one degree change on the Kelvin scale, the scales just put their ‘zeroes’ in a different place.

My quick look at the Climate Reanalyzer suggests to me that they are saying that the air temperature in the Arctic is about 0 Celsius and the ‘anomaly’ is 20 degrees Celsius/Kelvin, i.e. the temperature is warmer than the historic average that they are using by 20 degrees on both the Celsius and Kelvin scales.

TOB, we’ve all done that at times!

When I read the first couple of sentences of your post, I was wondering whether you were referring to an increase of cold or an increase of warmth at the arctic. The cold down in the south-east post-meridian today was definitely heading downwards on the thermo scale from earlier in the morning.

That may explain the arctic warming up a little, maybe not 20 degs, because all the cold has shoved off elsewhere, like southern England, let alone further north where they have had generous snowfalls.

Thanks for posting that, SJ. That is really useful.

I think the problem with the AGW fanatics stems from two things:
Firstly, the scientists are mostly specialists and they, again mostly, no longer cross disciplinary boundaries. This is possibly due to the increased complexities of their disciplines. Or perhaps because if they did multi-task a bit more and range more widely then Congress & Parliament would dole out less cash to fewer researchers.

Dr Gavin Schmidt mentioned methane. I wonder how much he knows and researches about methane production from non-human causes? Or the cooling effect of increased rainfall from the warming that has increased previous ice melts? Or the cooling from increased greening that Dr Matt Ridley referred to?

Secondly, the AGW Theories really came into their own just as an atheist world system (Communism) was in serious decline. For many people, it is obvious that AGW fanaticism has replaced Communism as a form of atheistic religion. We have actually seen this in practice in the UK. We sacrificed precious landscapes to wind turbines and for some people the wind farms became sites of pilgrimage. AGW devotees went to worship them and no doubt themselves, too.

It is that old Garden of Eden thing again with the shiny, glittering seductive, smooth tongued, deceiving lizard!

Guido understands Labour whips have been told that not only is Vaz now under investigation by Scotland Yard, they have been made aware that four files regarding Vaz have been passed to the National Crime Agency. Given that the Bill committee has been taking evidence from the National Crime Agency, it would clearly be completely inappropriate for Vaz to attend this committee. There can be few Guardian, BBC and Neo-Left disciples that are unaware of Dr Johnson’s “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel” utterance and I’m pretty certain that they would agree with that sentiment. What I’m totally certain about, however, is that they would gleefully substitute ‘scoundrel’ with a random pick from their word-salad, contempt-lexicon – ‘Racists’, ‘Xenophobes’ and ‘Fascists’ are in particular vogue this season. Let’s not ignore the inconvenient fact that by simply substituting the word ‘Patriotism’ with ‘Populism’, Republicanism,’Trumpism’ or whateverism, you’ve just recreated 97% of the Guardians current ‘Comment is Free’ content.

That the context in which Johnson said this is unknown, his biographer Boswell insisting that he meant ‘False Patriotism’, matters not a jot to them. While Humpty-Dumpty scornfully told Alice that his words could mean what he chose them to mean the ctrl-left have added that context is to be whatever they choose it to be as well!

“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

Our elite Master Dumpties are facing a humiliating humping, they can’t see whose going to put them back together again and they don’t like it up ’em – hence the panic and frenzied reactions.

No-one seems to have commented on Osborne’s assertion – perhaps because it was on ITV last Monday in ‘The Agenda’, a programme that has fast become quite as well-staffed and balanced as anything on the BBC – that ‘nothing is likely to happen until Merkel’s re-election in the autumn’.
The arrogance of this assumption, that time will stand still until The Saviour re-enters the Kingdom of EUeaven is simply part of the major head-burying process fired by Brexit and Trump’s election. Meanwhile, although Europe is on the point of implosion and collapse, Obama continues to tread the same water that he has singularly failed to walk on and our parliament does everything in its power to delay and confuse the issue of our leaving the EU, expect every possible aspect of the doomsday scenario, created by millions worldwide actually starting to think for themselves, to be promoted, exaggerated, repeated and distorted.

Grant/Johnny – I am beginning to wonder if the Caledonian Poison Dwarf does not really want true independence.

She must know the instant Scotland becomes independent the UK funded magic money tree will wilt. And even assuming Scotland joined the EU as an independent nation, with the EU economies also going down the pan there will not be much cash left to lavish on an “independent” Jockland especially after EU members have paid up to help our new “refugees friends” to settle in.

I think her whole raison d’ etre appears to be to give voice to a noisy, vociferous minority who wish to dwell on a juvenile belief that all Scotlands problems are due to historic and current injustices visited onto the Scots by the English oppressors.
I feel sorry for the large number of grown up Scots who see this as the infantile BS it obviously is – but personally I now wish the Scots would just go as long as they take that bitter, astringent, hectoring shrew with them.

I suspect she quite enjoys the anglo/scottish hostility she generates. But I also suspect if Scotland gained true independence she would be lost. just like a spoiled teenager who has just left home and playing at being independant – she should really do all of her own cooking, cleaning and paying rent however at the end of the day she knows that if she is really stuck she only has to call and mummy will come over and wipe her bottom if thats what makes her happy!

She is certainly not unintelligent but any judgement she has, has been by far surpassed by an ego and depth of bitterness that is larger than Gary Linekars bank balance.

As another post mentioned if she joined the EU – how does that further Scotlands independence.

I could forgive her a bit if she was a bit easier on the eye – but unfortunately she is not. She always reminds me of a bluebottle that has just lost a juicy turd to the doggy bin. Shes angry and someones cream cake is gonna get it!

At the moment her target is Brexit but it could just as easily be Santa Claus for all the sense she makes. The only thing that matters to her is that she can spew her bile as widely as possible in the hopes of making anything Mummy Brittania likes as unpalatable as possible.

So please Scotland – just go! – But if you do just remember in future if you want your bottom wiped Mummy is no longer just a phone call away!

At the first sign of more voting decline, her position may become untenable.

BBC Radio 4 short 10-minute news at 13:00 before the repeat of ‘Any Questions?’

BBC news bias broadly consists of (i) omission, (ii) distortion and (iii) lying. The first is the most common, e.g. almost total lack of coverage of Muslim problems in Germany and Sweden, or revelations about Hillary Clinton from Wikileaks. The second is a regular occurrence, especially when awkward news can’t be avoided, e.g. Muslim attacker described as having mental health problems, being a victim of racism, social marginalization, etc. The third is the least common, because it is the most likely to be called out, but it still occurs, with any corrections made quietly later on to try to stay within the Charter, when the damage has already been done.

The coverage of the protest against Mr Pence, who was attending a play featuring an actor recreating Alexander Hamilton, one of the authors of the Federalist Papers and founding fathers, was what I would class as (ii) above. The story was given coverage out of all proportion to its importance: the newsreader went to a correspondent who then played an extended sound track of the criticisms of Trump/Pence by the actor playing Hamilton. Remember, the whole news package was only about 10 minutes in length. Frankly, who in the UK cares about luvvies predictably protesting against a democratic vote for Trump? But the protest fits the BBC-globalist agenda of trashing the President Elect, so we got what was in relative terms a lot of time devoted to it.

      Well said.

Apply your theory to the BBC’s coverage of ‘climate change’ and you will very quickly spot examples of all three.

Consider the issues raised in the following extract then think of how the BBC regularly reports on them:

For example, I analyzed the tropical atmospheric temperature change in 102 of the latest climate-model simulations covering the past 35 years. The temperature of this region is a key target variable because it is tied directly to the response to extra greenhouse gases in models. If greenhouse gases are warming the Earth, this is the first place to look. (Omission: this critical area of temperature measurement is never referred to by the BBC)

All 102 model runs overshot the actual temperature change on average by a factor of three. Not only does this tell us we don’t have a good grasp on the way climate varies, but the fact that all simulations overcooked the atmosphere means there is probably a warm bias built into the basic theory — the same theory we’ve been told is “settled science.” (Omission: this startling failure of the climate models never gets a mention)

To me, being off by a factor of three doesn’t qualify as “settled.” (Distortion: the BBC often uses the bogus ‘97% of climate scientists…’ claim and never does an balanced, objective examination of the ‘science’)

As important as models can be for problems like this, it is clear we have a long way to go. And it is troubling that current policy is being based on these computer models, none of which has been validated by a formalized, independent Red Team analysis. (Congress, EPA: Are you listening?)

Others might look to certain climate anomalies and convince themselves that humans are the cause. I often hear claims that extreme weather is getting worse. Now, here we do have direct evidence to check. Whether it’s tornadoes (no change over the past 60 years), hurricanes (no changes over the past 120 years) or droughts and heat waves (not as bad as they were during the past 1,000 years), the evidence doesn’t support those claims. (The BBC lies about the severity and frequency of ‘extreme weather events’ and other wild claims)

When Yentob was asked a direct question about perceived ‘bias’ on a specific BBC program (that he was still in charge of) and during odd things that he was doing (during I think the Batman charity collapse) he gave an interesting answer which was very revealing. He said words to the effect ‘that it (the BBC program in question) would be ‘totally acceptable’ for the typical (BBC) magazine target audience’. (So it was the fault of the ‘listener’ or ‘viewer’ as (we) don’t understand the issues’ until they are ‘revealed’ by the BBC (true or not), this is what the audience ‘expect’ to hear (he said)! It reminded me of the tale of the ‘The Emperors New clothes’ in which the obvious TRUTH was too politically sensitive to reveal (and might be too offensive by some and perverse by others’. I remembered that remark. The problem is that Yentob was right, the BBC do have a target audience (in mind), so if your not part of that ‘BBC target audience’ (i.e compliant non-questioning public service leftie types) then we shouldn’t listen or question that the BBC is ‘institutionally biased’ because – that is what is ‘expected’ of the BBC. It was an interesting insight into what the BBC calls ‘Target audience’.

    #1 The twisted BBC/MSM say “Post-Truth era”
Paradoxically that is the biggest lie ever
    – It’s a lie cos polis have always lied big time there was no “Truth era”

#2 The twisted BBC/MSM add – “Yeh there public are misinformed cos of a new phenomenom of Fake News on the internet.”
Wrong BBC/MSM your output is largely misinformation, while there have always been dumb Fake News on the internet, the actual NEW phenomenon is that Social media is busting your lies and bubbleworld.
The BBC/MSM “label and dismiss trick” is to label “counter narrative” sites as fake-news.

    * The much vaunted list of fake-news sites has been removed by the author “for updating”
It’s absolutely not cos it was a slanderous load of rubbish.

Add that to the language trick of label and dismissing anything that is not LeftMob approved , as “far right wing”

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-38036730

The lack of irony or self-awareness in this piece shows is hilarious.

Facebook’s “fake news” crisis has had the normally stoic 32-year-old visibly irritated, and that’s because for the first time he is being treated like a politician, rather than just a tech CEO.

Anyone seen a BBC editor even mildly taken to task on their own, internal, cosy, wrist slapping ‘Newswatch’ if there is the merest suggestion of taking a political line. Spitting bullets like the baddie in ‘The Mask’ would not come close.

‘With that comes distrust and anger, not to mention disloyalty in the Facebook ranks and what for him must be the growing realisation that it’s impossible to please everyone.’

What’s needed, clearly, is ‘unique funding’. Then, frankly, who gives a flying monkey’s?

Whether Zuckerberg was right to say fake news had little impact is largely irrelevant.

Clearly. What he should have said is Facebook gets it about right all the time. Sorted.

By dismissing it apparently without second thought as “crazy”, he attracted a global pitchfork of people

To whom he can simply offer an email address like that one Hugs was proud to secure in the basement with a sign that said ‘Beware of the Leopard’, and if pushed create a CECUTT to grind down all but the most tenacious with, finally, a Trust to ban those who can’t be cowed. Soon to be replaced with an OFCOM headed by a safe pair of hands who used to work with them all and can be relied upon to ‘forget’ stuff with the best of them.

“Do you think about that? At the moment it seems like you are the check and balance.”

Excuse me as I quietly gag at the hypocrisy, ignorance or blatant ‘tell it often enough’ propaganda attempt.
    Unique indeed.

The ‘dodged a bullet’ tweets I saw about this will probably be deemed hate crimes against the designer and her client’s sense of style.

Be interesting how the BBC banwagoneers and our increasingly double tracked legislature and judiciary rationalise this if the trend expands beyond safe spaces they think they have full control over.

And in Bristol the cosmopolitan student drama club was forbidden to do a production, cos you can’t have white people playing black people.

No one thought that first testimonial was racist, cos it wasn’t

Of course what was wasn’t acceptable was some oiks taunting, but had it been ginger haired players, the same oiks would have been taunting them.

Like in your company you might have a match between the ofice workers and factory floor workers.

Just a thought. Maybe it’s early days yet in Tommy Mair’s trial, but has anyone heard or read of any questions asked about his cut-down rifle? As an illegally modified firearm – a bolt-action Weihrauch .22 rimfire – owning it would breach its description entered on Mair’s Firearm Certificate which, if he has one, would mean that it has been granted in the knowledge that the applicant had been prescribed psychotherapeutic drugs and is believed to have mental health issues. Anyone checked?
Then again, just as with Thomas Hamilton and Michael Ryan, I’m quite sure the police will have been every bit as efficient and thorough in their checks for suitability where Mr Mair is concerned. On the other hand, maybe he got hold of the rifle illegally and if so who helped him, and why? Have those questions been asked yet?

Jenny Kleeman said that every time she hears the word theatre and Trump together she can’t help thinking about Presidential assassination.

Third, Alicia and Jeff – This is what happens when you have a government and an MSM that are more interested in bending over backwards to accommodate minority demands than listening to the host population.

Politicians never seem to learn that appeasement leads to more demands – not less. Meanwhile the real threat to our culture and population is supported and protected by the state which attempts to either cow us by increasing protection for Islam under so called “hate laws”, playing on our guilt for our “colonial past” or just hoping that political indifference and a population more interested in “bake off” and “strictly” allows them to carry on with these “globalisation friendly” policies.

Imagine the result if expats in Riyadh went on a March demanding an end to sharia law or more rights for non muslims – it just would not happen.

I am afraid we have been sorely let down by a morally bankrupt political class that wish to see no further than the next election or their next round of investments.

Whatever comes to pass – These two faced bastards will always be able to walk away with a smile on both of their faces whilst the rest of us will have to bare the consequences of their weakness.

Grant and Third – What particularly worries me is that we seem to be in a situation not completely different to WW2.

We have weakened armed forces and weak borders. Failing states and European economies across the Channel. In the East there is also a once failed nation which appears keen to reassert its new found strength. And an EU, who though unwilling to put their hand in their pockets for their own defense, are quite keen still to bait the Russian bear.

But I believe the true threat comes from within. We have large numbers of people entering our country who belong to a “religion” which by its very nature appears to be hostile to our culture and way of life. Like immigrants everywhere they generally have high birth rates and appear to have no desire to assimilate into our society.

Of late we also have had to suffer weak and vacillating Governments who are afraid to deal with the real problems (to the extent of not publishing re-writing reports which do not fit the left wing narrative). And who also seem quite happy for a corrupt legal system to ignore the will of the people.

And in addition we have a MSM who are more akin to a group of fifth columnists trying to create chaos and erode peoples belief and pride in their own nation rather than an a media which tries to keep people informed of the facts.

So yeah – I think we have dangerous days ahead.

This follows ITV telling me that Mike Pence got some multiculti liberal harangue when he DARED to go out in public to see a show.
We can expect more of this. Liberals showing their virtue at no cost to themselves, but eagerly uploaded to Europe to show that Project One Love is still on, still getting nastier now they`ve had their faces slapped by the proles. Both sides of the pond.
Reminds me of Johnny Marr/Paul Weller saying that Cameron is not allowed to listen to their songs, And the BBC duly pass this on to us with nothing by some awe and impress at this radical railroading of austerity.
Fatuous gestures. Expect more. Probably all they`ve got in the laundry bag, but when the BBC/ITV CHOOSE to make these empty gestures “news”-so that we get their agenda aimed at our guts, and cower?
Well, they don`t know us-and there are LOADS of us now who are raging quietly, planning their very public deaths.
This forum is only the daddy of them all.

On the subject of fake news (sorry, that should probably read ‘fake’ news), here’s the BBC on Brexit on a local level. Comments from those they speak for again going well.

Andrew Marr being his unbiased self as usual, interviewing both the current and, if the slant of the McDonnell interview were to be believed, the future chancellor. Do they really know something the rest of us don’t? Do they really believe that a pseudo-Marxist with the political development of a 10-year-old is simply waiting for that overwhelming vote of confidence to sweep him, and Jeremy, to power?
And for how much longer will Trump be Trump and Hillary Hillary? Will they still curtly dismiss the President of the USA as an irrelevancy after his inauguration? And will Donald Trump simply shrug their rudeness off or will he perhaps follow examples from recent history and grant interviews to all, except the BBC?
