More Trump (and Pence) hammering this morning. I am heartily sick of the BBC chortling over ANY perceived shortcoming of Trump’s that they can find (or should I say, drag up). It’s not news, any more (mind you, with the BBC, it never was in the first place). The elections is over and done with, they lost, Trump won, and however much they try to besmirch him, he ain’t going anywhere, but upwards.
This so needs a Downfall/’Goodness Gracious Me’ mashup with Goebells (OK, I know it was Adolph) stabbing that map everywhere, saying to Stenier… ‘See… Infidels!’
“”When UK voters backed Brexit in June, it prompted a wave of interest in direct democracy – and the unexpected results it can unleash””
“”Britain’s post-war Prime Minister Clement Attlee called them “a device of dictators and demagogues””
“”Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s far-right Front National, has promised voters an EU Referendum on “Frexit” if she wins the country’s presidency next spring””
“”She says young people tend to be the most proactive if poll results do not go their way: “They get depressed on the day – they comment and are quite distressed. Then they decide to do something about it””
And don’t forget, he was probably one of the more successful PM’s of our lifetimes, with a score in low single figures out of 10 and beaten only by the much maligned Margaret Thatcher. Mind you many of the others have negative scores, including one 21st century resident of No.10, who I gather, may be threatening to make a comeback.
Wonder if any of the CIN money will go to providing shaving toiletries and hair products for the ‘children’ being brought in from across the Channel. (Incidentally it appears to have gone extremely quiet on that particular news story – or are they being ferried in under the cloak of darkness, we need to be told !!)
OT, but I was chatting with the black 20-year old son of a Nigerian friend of mine, in Nigeria, and mentioned Obama. He, genuinely had never heard of him !
Well he has certainly done nothing for “Black Africa” and many of them are angry. In the case I mentioned above, I chatted with the boys father who is an academic in Nigeria. He said to me today ” We had high hopes of Obama but he has disappointed us “. They are especially angry about Obama’s total lack of support for them against Boko Haram.
Obama is a total fake. All talk, no trousers. He certainly does seem to spend a lot of time on the golf course !
Your name suggests that you are Scottish, being named after a brand of Whisky, in which case shouldn’t the correct description be: “all fur coat and no knickers”?
Some might infer that you are prejudiced against our celebrated transgender people.
This morning I switched on my computer and several of my meteorological friends from around the World had emailed me to ask “what the hell?” and have asked me to comment. A report from the Washington Post has stated that the Arctic temperatures have increased very recently to be 20, then 30, then 36 degrees ABOVE a short term average. This article released by the Washington Post into the internet has gone “viral” since, so expect news reports to slip this devasting news on Arctic increase in temperatures at every bulletin.
Now, anyone with a meteorological bent would raise an eyebrow or two at this “report” as a 30 degree increase in temperature, is, to put it mildly, staggering. I monitor the Norther Hemisphere temperatures on a daily basis and I can assure you, no such thing has or is happening.
So I looked a little deeper into the story line, because that is what it is, a story.
The University of Maine have a web site called “Climate Reanalyzer” which in itself should set off alarm bells and from within this web site they have just released data from the Danish Meteorological Institute showing their empirical temperature data sets of the Arctic, and true enough, they do show a short term spike of an increase of between 20 and 30 Degrees and this has been picked up by a reporter at the Washington Post. What the numpties at the Washington Post don’t understand is that the temperature shown in the chart, by the Danish M.I. is in degrees KELVIN and not CELSIUS. There is a huge difference between KELVIN and CELSIUS, so much of a difference, that the recent increase is only about 10 degrees CELSIUS which is a normal event in the Arctic when a warm front/air mass moves over it.
The media and internet have all gone into Hyper drive about the false temperature increase and if the BBC will pick up on it expect the same hysterical reporting.
I have tried to get info out into the Internet explaining the error of their ways. Let see what happens.
I can’t make any sense of what you are saying. One degree change on the Celsius scale is exactly the same as one degree change on the Kelvin scale, the scales just put their ‘zeroes’ in a different place.
My quick look at the Climate Reanalyzer suggests to me that they are saying that the air temperature in the Arctic is about 0 Celsius and the ‘anomaly’ is 20 degrees Celsius/Kelvin, i.e. the temperature is warmer than the historic average that they are using by 20 degrees on both the Celsius and Kelvin scales.
I was questioning my own sanity first thing this morning when I did a conversion to Celsius. Twice I did a conversion and came up with the same result. having just checked again following your post, I now get a different result using the same converter. Don’t ask. It was early this morning and it does look like I punched in the wrong details on the converter..crap in crap out. I stand corrected.
When I read the first couple of sentences of your post, I was wondering whether you were referring to an increase of cold or an increase of warmth at the arctic. The cold down in the south-east post-meridian today was definitely heading downwards on the thermo scale from earlier in the morning.
That may explain the arctic warming up a little, maybe not 20 degs, because all the cold has shoved off elsewhere, like southern England, let alone further north where they have had generous snowfalls.
That reminds of the recent case when a science “journalist” at one of these terminally ignorant Lefty rags announced that average temperatures in the Arctic “had risen by 2C (36F)”.
The combination of stupidity and malice is a daunting one.
I think the BBC would report the massive increase in Arctic temperatures as from zero Degrees Celsius to 32 Degrees Fahrenheit and then on to a massive 273 Degrees Kelvin.
Thanks for posting that, SJ. That is really useful.
I think the problem with the AGW fanatics stems from two things:
Firstly, the scientists are mostly specialists and they, again mostly, no longer cross disciplinary boundaries. This is possibly due to the increased complexities of their disciplines. Or perhaps because if they did multi-task a bit more and range more widely then Congress & Parliament would dole out less cash to fewer researchers.
Dr Gavin Schmidt mentioned methane. I wonder how much he knows and researches about methane production from non-human causes? Or the cooling effect of increased rainfall from the warming that has increased previous ice melts? Or the cooling from increased greening that Dr Matt Ridley referred to?
Secondly, the AGW Theories really came into their own just as an atheist world system (Communism) was in serious decline. For many people, it is obvious that AGW fanaticism has replaced Communism as a form of atheistic religion. We have actually seen this in practice in the UK. We sacrificed precious landscapes to wind turbines and for some people the wind farms became sites of pilgrimage. AGW devotees went to worship them and no doubt themselves, too.
It is that old Garden of Eden thing again with the shiny, glittering seductive, smooth tongued, deceiving lizard!
I understand the reason for the record amount raised this year was due to large corporate donations from the famous children’s brands Wilkinson Sword, Gillette and Durex
Is it only cynical me who thinks that our media are willing participants in a grand Pallywood promotion made in Aleppo? All the “rescued” children follow the same pattern. Faces revealed first, covered in dust & the minimum of “blood”. All children are then popped out of their confinement like a foot from a welly. No indication of injury to any limb or torso, no blood, no fractures. The White Helmet saint then gathers up the child and runs off, off stage.
“”Since Keith Vaz’s appointment to the Criminal Finance Bill committee this week it has sat twice, on Tuesday and today. For some reason – to the great disappointment of hacks – Vaz has absented himself from both sessions. Guido can give readers some background as to why that might be…
Guido understands Labour whips have been told that not only is Vaz now under investigation by Scotland Yard, they have been made aware that four files regarding Vaz have been passed to the National Crime Agency. Given that the Bill committee has been taking evidence from the National Crime Agency, it would clearly be completely inappropriate for Vaz to attend this committee. If Vaz had attended he would either have to recuse himself or declare his interest. Rather than face the embarrassment, slippery Vaz has unofficially recused himself by not showing up…””
Surely Vaz should be suspended as an MP and member of the Labour Party pending the outcome of police enquiries ? What the hell is going on in this country ?
Good question Grant. This topic needs careful scrutiny. We should examine every comment about children made by BBC staff – just as they scrutinise any comments about ethnics, Moslems and transgenders for evidence of corruption.
Good to see you are still around ! Yes, it seems to me that some classes of paedophile in the UK are exempt and others are not. Sadly , I do not think we can expect the corrupt police to investigate the BBC. But , when it comes to children, there is a bad smell from the BBC.
There can be few Guardian, BBC and Neo-Left disciples that are unaware of Dr Johnson’s “Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel” utterance and I’m pretty certain that they would agree with that sentiment. What I’m totally certain about, however, is that they would gleefully substitute ‘scoundrel’ with a random pick from their word-salad, contempt-lexicon – ‘Racists’, ‘Xenophobes’ and ‘Fascists’ are in particular vogue this season. Let’s not ignore the inconvenient fact that by simply substituting the word ‘Patriotism’ with ‘Populism’, Republicanism,’Trumpism’ or whateverism, you’ve just recreated 97% of the Guardians current ‘Comment is Free’ content.
That the context in which Johnson said this is unknown, his biographer Boswell insisting that he meant ‘False Patriotism’, matters not a jot to them. While Humpty-Dumpty scornfully told Alice that his words could mean what he chose them to mean the ctrl-left have added that context is to be whatever they choose it to be as well!
“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”
Our elite Master Dumpties are facing a humiliating humping, they can’t see whose going to put them back together again and they don’t like it up ’em – hence the panic and frenzied reactions.
It would appear that Mother Merkel is clearly being set up as the Saviour of the West and by concentrating on the irrelevance of Trump, Le Pen, Wilders and Farage, by refusing to cover any of their positive aspects and contributions, Angel-a is, apparently, The One.
No-one seems to have commented on Osborne’s assertion – perhaps because it was on ITV last Monday in ‘The Agenda’, a programme that has fast become quite as well-staffed and balanced as anything on the BBC – that ‘nothing is likely to happen until Merkel’s re-election in the autumn’.
The arrogance of this assumption, that time will stand still until The Saviour re-enters the Kingdom of EUeaven is simply part of the major head-burying process fired by Brexit and Trump’s election. Meanwhile, although Europe is on the point of implosion and collapse, Obama continues to tread the same water that he has singularly failed to walk on and our parliament does everything in its power to delay and confuse the issue of our leaving the EU, expect every possible aspect of the doomsday scenario, created by millions worldwide actually starting to think for themselves, to be promoted, exaggerated, repeated and distorted.
Things will get worse before they get better.
Gavin Esler. Dateline London just finished. 4 lefties. Bash Trump. Bash Brexit. Bash Le Pen. No dissenting voices. Job done. Fortunately, I live overseas and don’t have to pay for this trash.
Bash Le Pen is the current BBC objective, although they have still retained a penchant for bashing Brexit and Trump, who they lost against. We can now look forward six months of campaigning against Le Pen. I hope she Trumps them, followed by Wilders.
This is an interesting because it shows the leftist mind works. Rather than assemble the facts, then come to an opinion. They have the opinion and to hell with facts.
I’d like to see Emily Witless interview Tucker Carlson, I fear the denouement would be similar to that of Justine Webb’s interview of Joel Pollack on Toady.
Up here in Bonnie Perthshire there is snow on the hills. Krankie and the lunatic SNP cannot see that a country cannot be independent and remain in the EU. They are totally insane .
The EU is attractive to the SNP 1. Because it’s not “English”, SNP are of course not waysist (LOL!) and 2. Because they are under the bizarre delusion that their socialist dream world will be fully subsidised by Brussels.
The reality is that even with their accountancy trickery, the EU economy is unsustainable thanks to the tiny number of increasingly disgruntled Northern net contributors; hugely financially demanding Southern members and the costs that are going to be associated with Commissar Merkel’s importation of so many Middle Eastern/African Doctors and Engineers.
The Scots are great people but they need to wake up and smell reality and remove those SNP fantasists!
Grant…couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately Wee Krankie and her elves all have Indy in their DNA! I am not Scottish but have lived the better part of my years in this wonderful country and she is a bag of hot air!! She does the whole of Scotland no good. There will also be no EU to join – it will implode…I’d give it 5 years – and that’s being generous!
Grant/Johnny – I am beginning to wonder if the Caledonian Poison Dwarf does not really want true independence.
She must know the instant Scotland becomes independent the UK funded magic money tree will wilt. And even assuming Scotland joined the EU as an independent nation, with the EU economies also going down the pan there will not be much cash left to lavish on an “independent” Jockland especially after EU members have paid up to help our new “refugees friends” to settle in.
I think her whole raison d’ etre appears to be to give voice to a noisy, vociferous minority who wish to dwell on a juvenile belief that all Scotlands problems are due to historic and current injustices visited onto the Scots by the English oppressors.
I feel sorry for the large number of grown up Scots who see this as the infantile BS it obviously is – but personally I now wish the Scots would just go as long as they take that bitter, astringent, hectoring shrew with them.
I suspect she quite enjoys the anglo/scottish hostility she generates. But I also suspect if Scotland gained true independence she would be lost. just like a spoiled teenager who has just left home and playing at being independant – she should really do all of her own cooking, cleaning and paying rent however at the end of the day she knows that if she is really stuck she only has to call and mummy will come over and wipe her bottom if thats what makes her happy!
She is certainly not unintelligent but any judgement she has, has been by far surpassed by an ego and depth of bitterness that is larger than Gary Linekars bank balance.
As another post mentioned if she joined the EU – how does that further Scotlands independence.
I could forgive her a bit if she was a bit easier on the eye – but unfortunately she is not. She always reminds me of a bluebottle that has just lost a juicy turd to the doggy bin. Shes angry and someones cream cake is gonna get it!
At the moment her target is Brexit but it could just as easily be Santa Claus for all the sense she makes. The only thing that matters to her is that she can spew her bile as widely as possible in the hopes of making anything Mummy Brittania likes as unpalatable as possible.
So please Scotland – just go! – But if you do just remember in future if you want your bottom wiped Mummy is no longer just a phone call away!
Sorry about the excessive scatological references – but I have just walked the dog!
It narks a lot of others, gaxvil, south of the border. Sturgeon is building a raft of resentment against Scotland. Sometimes pushing too far, for too long, in the wrong way ends up in an undesirable result.
I don’t think England will abandon Scotland even if they had the chance, but I think some of the more conservative SNP members will be quite pleased if wee Nicola Krankie’s flash in the Prestonpans popularity continues to wane and may be quick to install one of two alternative Leaders waiting in the wings. At the first sign of more voting decline, her position may become untenable.
BBC Radio 4 short 10-minute news at 13:00 before the repeat of ‘Any Questions?’
BBC news bias broadly consists of (i) omission, (ii) distortion and (iii) lying. The first is the most common, e.g. almost total lack of coverage of Muslim problems in Germany and Sweden, or revelations about Hillary Clinton from Wikileaks. The second is a regular occurrence, especially when awkward news can’t be avoided, e.g. Muslim attacker described as having mental health problems, being a victim of racism, social marginalization, etc. The third is the least common, because it is the most likely to be called out, but it still occurs, with any corrections made quietly later on to try to stay within the Charter, when the damage has already been done.
The coverage of the protest against Mr Pence, who was attending a play featuring an actor recreating Alexander Hamilton, one of the authors of the Federalist Papers and founding fathers, was what I would class as (ii) above. The story was given coverage out of all proportion to its importance: the newsreader went to a correspondent who then played an extended sound track of the criticisms of Trump/Pence by the actor playing Hamilton. Remember, the whole news package was only about 10 minutes in length. Frankly, who in the UK cares about luvvies predictably protesting against a democratic vote for Trump? But the protest fits the BBC-globalist agenda of trashing the President Elect, so we got what was in relative terms a lot of time devoted to it.
This seems to have turned into the luvvie share du jour for a slow weekend. Bet HIGNFY are sorry to have missed it, but there is always next week as Jeremy today topped the news saying how beastly old white men were. Again. Not him, though. Nigel and Don. In their suits.
Whilst the cast’s ‘brave’ foray into appealing to their mates could yet prove unfortunate precedent wise, unless any doing the same to targets favoured by the same collective would not dare for fear of a backlash and causing another riot by communities who live in variable states of fear, PE Trump’s response was a bit silly.
However, it is worth noting how well it has gone down with the girls this side of the pond, as well as some impartial, mature wimmin…
https://twitter.com/maitlis? (she has many RTs on the subject currently, which of course do not suggest shared views or endorsement)
Seems like she also has a BFF ready to share a giggle and a goss…
One of those ‘mature’ MPs who get to vote on matters of international importance on behalf of their constituents’ behalves because they are so smart on such things.
BBC news bias broadly consists of (i) omission, (ii) distortion and (iii) lying.
Well said.
Apply your theory to the BBC’s coverage of ‘climate change’ and you will very quickly spot examples of all three.
Consider the issues raised in the following extract then think of how the BBC regularly reports on them:
For example, I analyzed the tropical atmospheric temperature change in 102 of the latest climate-model simulations covering the past 35 years. The temperature of this region is a key target variable because it is tied directly to the response to extra greenhouse gases in models. If greenhouse gases are warming the Earth, this is the first place to look. (Omission: this critical area of temperature measurement is never referred to by the BBC)
All 102 model runs overshot the actual temperature change on average by a factor of three. Not only does this tell us we don’t have a good grasp on the way climate varies, but the fact that all simulations overcooked the atmosphere means there is probably a warm bias built into the basic theory — the same theory we’ve been told is “settled science.” (Omission: this startling failure of the climate models never gets a mention)
To me, being off by a factor of three doesn’t qualify as “settled.” (Distortion: the BBC often uses the bogus ‘97% of climate scientists…’ claim and never does an balanced, objective examination of the ‘science’)
As important as models can be for problems like this, it is clear we have a long way to go. And it is troubling that current policy is being based on these computer models, none of which has been validated by a formalized, independent Red Team analysis. (Congress, EPA: Are you listening?)
Others might look to certain climate anomalies and convince themselves that humans are the cause. I often hear claims that extreme weather is getting worse. Now, here we do have direct evidence to check. Whether it’s tornadoes (no change over the past 60 years), hurricanes (no changes over the past 120 years) or droughts and heat waves (not as bad as they were during the past 1,000 years), the evidence doesn’t support those claims. (The BBC lies about the severity and frequency of ‘extreme weather events’ and other wild claims)
When Yentob was asked a direct question about perceived ‘bias’ on a specific BBC program (that he was still in charge of) and during odd things that he was doing (during I think the Batman charity collapse) he gave an interesting answer which was very revealing. He said words to the effect ‘that it (the BBC program in question) would be ‘totally acceptable’ for the typical (BBC) magazine target audience’. (So it was the fault of the ‘listener’ or ‘viewer’ as (we) don’t understand the issues’ until they are ‘revealed’ by the BBC (true or not), this is what the audience ‘expect’ to hear (he said)! It reminded me of the tale of the ‘The Emperors New clothes’ in which the obvious TRUTH was too politically sensitive to reveal (and might be too offensive by some and perverse by others’. I remembered that remark. The problem is that Yentob was right, the BBC do have a target audience (in mind), so if your not part of that ‘BBC target audience’ (i.e compliant non-questioning public service leftie types) then we shouldn’t listen or question that the BBC is ‘institutionally biased’ because – that is what is ‘expected’ of the BBC. It was an interesting insight into what the BBC calls ‘Target audience’.
#1 The twisted BBC/MSM say “Post-Truth era”
Paradoxically that is the biggest lie ever
– It’s a lie cos polis have always lied big time there was no “Truth era”
#2 The twisted BBC/MSM add – “Yeh there public are misinformed cos of a new phenomenom of Fake News on the internet.”
Wrong BBC/MSM your output is largely misinformation, while there have always been dumb Fake News on the internet, the actual NEW phenomenon is that Social media is busting your lies and bubbleworld.
The BBC/MSM “label and dismiss trick” is to label “counter narrative” sites as fake-news.
* The much vaunted list of fake-news sites has been removed by the author “for updating”
It’s absolutely not cos it was a slanderous load of rubbish.
Add that to the language trick of label and dismissing anything that is not LeftMob approved , as “far right wing”
..and you can see we have 3 major language tricks this week.
================
Why didn’t the BBC/MSM find the truth about the US election ?
…well they weren’t looking for it …they just looked for their own narrative and dirt on Trump
The lack of irony or self-awareness in this piece shows is hilarious.
Facebook’s “fake news” crisis has had the normally stoic 32-year-old visibly irritated, and that’s because for the first time he is being treated like a politician, rather than just a tech CEO.
Anyone seen a BBC editor even mildly taken to task on their own, internal, cosy, wrist slapping ‘Newswatch’ if there is the merest suggestion of taking a political line. Spitting bullets like the baddie in ‘The Mask’ would not come close.
‘With that comes distrust and anger, not to mention disloyalty in the Facebook ranks and what for him must be the growing realisation that it’s impossible to please everyone.’
What’s needed, clearly, is ‘unique funding’. Then, frankly, who gives a flying monkey’s?
Whether Zuckerberg was right to say fake news had little impact is largely irrelevant.
Clearly. What he should have said is Facebook gets it about right all the time. Sorted.
By dismissing it apparently without second thought as “crazy”, he attracted a global pitchfork of people
To whom he can simply offer an email address like that one Hugs was proud to secure in the basement with a sign that said ‘Beware of the Leopard’, and if pushed create a CECUTT to grind down all but the most tenacious with, finally, a Trust to ban those who can’t be cowed. Soon to be replaced with an OFCOM headed by a safe pair of hands who used to work with them all and can be relied upon to ‘forget’ stuff with the best of them.
“Do you think about that? At the moment it seems like you are the check and balance.”
Excuse me as I quietly gag at the hypocrisy, ignorance or blatant ‘tell it often enough’ propaganda attempt.
Unique indeed.
The ‘dodged a bullet’ tweets I saw about this will probably be deemed hate crimes against the designer and her client’s sense of style.
Be interesting how the BBC banwagoneers and our increasingly double tracked legislature and judiciary rationalise this if the trend expands beyond safe spaces they think they have full control over.
The law of unintended consequences and the capriciousness of karma have a fun way of biting self-righteous twats on the ass.
Of course you are correct Stew. I tried to access the site and got and some crap about an iPhone6.
My incorrectly spelled url pasted into the downforjustme…. website was just a clumsy attempt to help those who find access to various websites prohibited as a means to determine if it was just them or everyone.
Thank you for pointing out my error.
Funny that those bleating the most about ‘fake news’ are the ones dealing it.
Anyhow, how about a joke I wrote for, ‘News Jack’ – they won’t use it.
Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: Because he was an un educated, racist, misogynist, Fascist, who gave Democracy a bad name.
I’m Watching England v Fiji highlights on BBC2 with the epoch making commentary by a woman.
She says she thinks the lights in the crowd look pretty. F*** quotas.
Bill McLaren she ain’t.
Yes, I thought what the fuck is that useless bint, doing on a rugby commentary! She was absolutely awful, it was typical BBC, planting PC useless bint, box ticking crap! No commercial channel would even try to rub the fans faces in this bollox! Incidentally I see the Grand Tour has had rave reviews, except for that Gaylord freak Gompertz, who obviously hates, ( as all the BBC) 3 heterosexual white men, making great TV for heterosexual white men!
She was both high-pitched and a fish out of water, true, and I’m sure they could have easily found someone better qualified for an England game – but not when the alternative is the grating bias of Eddie Butler….eh?
I listened to AQ’s this afternoon, al beebus did not disappoint with yet another (to borrow Nigel Farage’s line from the GE debate) “VERY carefully selected BBC audience.”
Quite astonishing bias, on the odd occasion when Farage got a round of applause Junior Dimblebeeb quickly began speaking to try and squelch it: what a simply awful, awful b@st@rd!
Here is an interesting clip from today’s Saturday Times under ‘Corrections and clarifications’. It made me laugh that The Times has to clarify a BBC insult (Made to 50 BBC colleagues in 2001, no less!. Yes the BBC are ‘c***s’ and ‘crap’ still. Not sure what apology was needed…

….. speaking about his prog a film that documents the testimonial match between Cyrille Regis’ all black team and Len Cantello’s all white team at The Hawthorns in 1979
..All those in the studio wisesly tutted along.
…Hangon about 3 weeks back also on Radio 4, Front Row the arts prog had a long item about 2 current BLACK ONLY theatre companies.
And in Bristol the cosmopolitan student drama club was forbidden to do a production, cos you can’t have white people playing black people.
No one thought that first testimonial was racist, cos it wasn’t
..They admitted that match was particularly successful cos it was distinctive.
Of course what was wasn’t acceptable was some oiks taunting, but had it been ginger haired players, the same oiks would have been taunting them.
Like in your company you might have a match between the ofice workers and factory floor workers.
And if you were living Hong Kong you might well have a SPECIAL match between a teams of Europeans and Chinese players.
Though of course when a player turns up to join a local club it wouldn’t matter the colour of his skin.
MoneyBox wisely advises …take no notice of the message at the end of your bill which says “You will save £X/year”
MoneyBox explained that the Personal Projection system uses the corps standard variable tariff as the comparison base as that is the Ofgem (completely mad) rule.
The thing is often customers are ALREADY on a much lower tariff.

Just a thought. Maybe it’s early days yet in Tommy Mair’s trial, but has anyone heard or read of any questions asked about his cut-down rifle? As an illegally modified firearm – a bolt-action Weihrauch .22 rimfire – owning it would breach its description entered on Mair’s Firearm Certificate which, if he has one, would mean that it has been granted in the knowledge that the applicant had been prescribed psychotherapeutic drugs and is believed to have mental health issues. Anyone checked?
Then again, just as with Thomas Hamilton and Michael Ryan, I’m quite sure the police will have been every bit as efficient and thorough in their checks for suitability where Mr Mair is concerned. On the other hand, maybe he got hold of the rifle illegally and if so who helped him, and why? Have those questions been asked yet?
Watching Sky News , not Al Beeb.
Comment from some ‘bint’ – “The Brits hate Trump.”
Well my message to the ‘Bint’ – ask the British first.
I also detest the the derogatory term ‘Brit’ . I find it offensive and racist.
Furthermore, the bitter and twisted woman hates Farage and Brexit. The media if so full of these opinionated people who think that they speak for all British people.
Sky News is gradually catching up with Al Beeb with its bias.
The very same Jenny Kleeman, during the 10.30pm newspaper reviews, was commenting on a story that Donald’s running mate, Mike Pence was booed when he went to the theatre. Apparently Donald then sent out a tweet that it was inappropriate. Jenny Kleeman said that every time she hears the word theatre and Trump together she can’t help thinking about Presidential assassination.
Can you imagine the furore if someone had dared to wish for the assassination of Barack Obama? Sky would never have them on again and I suspect there would be police involvement. But Jenny Kleeman, an extreme left-wing, feminist mouthpiece gets a free pass.

Kirsty Wark chairs a debate at the University of Salford in front of an audience of industry professionals about the future of broadcasting and production in the nations and regions of the UK. The panel, including senior figures from the BBC, Channel 4, and the independent production sector also discuss whether audiences from the regions and nations are being adequately served on UK wide tv and radio.
BBC doing a brilliant job reflecting the views around the country but needs to more for the minorities and those among the 48 percent who wanted to remain?
“An editor with the conservative website Breitbart who was banned from Twitter in a row over racism…”
Checking non BBC fake news, it seems it may be more their mates at Twitter simply banned anyone they didn’t like for having different opinions, just like the trusted national broadcaster of Britain is wont to do. And currently allowed to.
I had never heard of Milo until a few days ago here. He is great. I love the “I wouldn’t trust the effing BBC as far as I could throw you. ” ! The Left must really hate him. A gay who is not Left-wing. LOL ! Keep it up, Milo, so to speak.
Milo ” All my boyfriends are black , I don’t give a toss about skin colour” . Well it would seem that he does. LOL ! I was once accused by a black American of being racist and pointed out that my wife is black African. He said ” That proves it “. You just can’t win.
“Brexit and Trump have exposed the left’s crucial flaw: playing by the rules Jonathan Freedland”
“Sheer ruthlessness” is required and advocated.
By the editor, in the advertiser.
No comments allowed.
Even by the “standards” of the verminous sub-human filth employed by the Guardian, this is the nastiest piece of “explanation” of “events” and the most mendacious justification for violence since Lenin died.
Playing by the Guardian rules killed one hundred million people in the twentieth century.
But it’s still not enough, all Brexiters must die, we deserve it.
Hate speech, Freedland must be arrested. Die, Guardian, die.
There would be plenty of mocking, if comments were allowed.
The Guardian policy seems to be to reduce, to a minimum, the opportunities for comments. Just like AlBeeb.
The Guardian is now filtering any comments that are allowed, as never before.
Many Guardian supporting comments full of the most silly drivel only attract praise BTL.
By silly drivel I mean content of which a child of ten could say “that is nonsense and this is why”.
Doubtless the comments which demonstrated this silliness “violated the house rules”, and disappeared like the Commissar, in true lefty tradition.
Don`t worry TS.
They`re talking to their own Godless choirs and queers. Cant` sing, can`t preach-can only slyly stab and sneer.
I`ve seen Freedland-he`s no threat, he`d have to leave Holland Park.
Like all liberal metrosexual panty bunchers, a lazy cliche factory. The Guardian won`t stand long, maybe die before the Euro?
There was a demonstration in London yesterday, organised by the NUS demanding free University education for all and attended by the usual flotsam and jetsam of society.
Have a look at the people marching and the banners they are holding and then weep for our country and what it’s become.
Thankfully they`re THAT stupid that they`d think that the country will respond best to Allahs Little Helpers being put right at the front of the “procession”.
Half a million there I`d say. At least.
Yes, the BBC and CNN will like this,as will the Jew baiters at UCL, Oxford, Kings and B`rum( their NUS rags will make this a pull-off edition).
But -as for the rest of us who pay and who vote?

I was in London last Sunday. A rather quiet, very different, much more sombre occasion; Remembrance Day.
A rather different, much more dignified, group of people, as well
Not a beard or a burka in sight.
Can’t think why…
Third, Alicia and Jeff – This is what happens when you have a government and an MSM that are more interested in bending over backwards to accommodate minority demands than listening to the host population.
Politicians never seem to learn that appeasement leads to more demands – not less. Meanwhile the real threat to our culture and population is supported and protected by the state which attempts to either cow us by increasing protection for Islam under so called “hate laws”, playing on our guilt for our “colonial past” or just hoping that political indifference and a population more interested in “bake off” and “strictly” allows them to carry on with these “globalisation friendly” policies.
Imagine the result if expats in Riyadh went on a March demanding an end to sharia law or more rights for non muslims – it just would not happen.
I am afraid we have been sorely let down by a morally bankrupt political class that wish to see no further than the next election or their next round of investments.
Whatever comes to pass – These two faced bastards will always be able to walk away with a smile on both of their faces whilst the rest of us will have to bare the consequences of their weakness.
Meanwhile, our useless , stupid, cowardly, lying politicians fail in one of their main duties to make sure we have a credible military defence. Russia could take the UK any time Putin feels like it. Almost all British politicians are scum and I am being polite here.
Grant and Third – What particularly worries me is that we seem to be in a situation not completely different to WW2.
We have weakened armed forces and weak borders. Failing states and European economies across the Channel. In the East there is also a once failed nation which appears keen to reassert its new found strength. And an EU, who though unwilling to put their hand in their pockets for their own defense, are quite keen still to bait the Russian bear.
But I believe the true threat comes from within. We have large numbers of people entering our country who belong to a “religion” which by its very nature appears to be hostile to our culture and way of life. Like immigrants everywhere they generally have high birth rates and appear to have no desire to assimilate into our society.
Of late we also have had to suffer weak and vacillating Governments who are afraid to deal with the real problems (to the extent of not publishing re-writing reports which do not fit the left wing narrative). And who also seem quite happy for a corrupt legal system to ignore the will of the people.
And in addition we have a MSM who are more akin to a group of fifth columnists trying to create chaos and erode peoples belief and pride in their own nation rather than an a media which tries to keep people informed of the facts.
This follows ITV telling me that Mike Pence got some multiculti liberal harangue when he DARED to go out in public to see a show.
We can expect more of this. Liberals showing their virtue at no cost to themselves, but eagerly uploaded to Europe to show that Project One Love is still on, still getting nastier now they`ve had their faces slapped by the proles. Both sides of the pond.
Reminds me of Johnny Marr/Paul Weller saying that Cameron is not allowed to listen to their songs, And the BBC duly pass this on to us with nothing by some awe and impress at this radical railroading of austerity.
Fatuous gestures. Expect more. Probably all they`ve got in the laundry bag, but when the BBC/ITV CHOOSE to make these empty gestures “news”-so that we get their agenda aimed at our guts, and cower?
Well, they don`t know us-and there are LOADS of us now who are raging quietly, planning their very public deaths.
This forum is only the daddy of them all.
On the subject of fake news (sorry, that should probably read ‘fake’ news), here’s the BBC on Brexit on a local level. Comments from those they speak for again going well.

Andrew Marr being his unbiased self as usual, interviewing both the current and, if the slant of the McDonnell interview were to be believed, the future chancellor. Do they really know something the rest of us don’t? Do they really believe that a pseudo-Marxist with the political development of a 10-year-old is simply waiting for that overwhelming vote of confidence to sweep him, and Jeremy, to power?
And for how much longer will Trump be Trump and Hillary Hillary? Will they still curtly dismiss the President of the USA as an irrelevancy after his inauguration? And will Donald Trump simply shrug their rudeness off or will he perhaps follow examples from recent history and grant interviews to all, except the BBC?
I assume he grilled him on his proposal in the not so distant past, to tax the rich at 100%? (Otherwise known as slavery)
I’m sure it’s a policy that’d have entrepreneurs flocking to our shores!

More Trump (and Pence) hammering this morning. I am heartily sick of the BBC chortling over ANY perceived shortcoming of Trump’s that they can find (or should I say, drag up). It’s not news, any more (mind you, with the BBC, it never was in the first place). RJ,
Well he has certainly done nothing for “Black Africa” and many of them are angry.

A pre-emptive strike here folks.

Thanks for reporting that, TOB.

Hi JimS,
I was questioning my own sanity first thing this morning when I did a conversion to Celsius. Twice I did a conversion and came up with the same result. having just checked again following your post, I now get a different result using the same converter. Don’t ask. It was early this morning and it does look like I punched in the wrong details on the converter..crap in crap out. I stand corrected.

TOB, we’ve all done that at times!

Let Us Not Forgot Keith Vaz.
A Guido Report:

Things will get worse before they get better.

johnny,
Up here in Bonnie Perthshire there is snow on the hills.

Scotland as it is enjoys some real benefits that the English do not and that narks me.

A rare HYS, going in the comments of a nation the BBC speaks at with a one way foghorn predictably enough. Namely not very well for the BBC.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-38036730

I have wondered the same. I would be very surprised if a man with serious mental health issues had a firearm certificate.

So yeah – I think we have dangerous days ahead.

Well, blue on old white men is the sign of the bankster, phobic patriarchal wibble. Or something.
So they are both just playing it safe.

I assume he grilled him on his proposal in the not so distant past, to tax the rich at 100%? (Otherwise known as slavery)
I’m sure it’s a policy that’d have entrepreneurs flocking to our shores!
