Open Thread Friday

Time for another one of these….any bias about?  Perhaps some careless talk?…such as Emma Barnett talking of ‘IRA soldiers’ giving the murderous terrorists a massive amount of undue respect that the BBC never affords to British soldiers whom they hound at every opportunity….Barnett, as she rejected claims that there was a witch-hunt against British troops in NI, never once mentioning Phil Shiner’s fall and the false claims he made that the BBC peddled as fact for years.

A fine piece of Common Purpose lobbying this morning from former BBC man Greig Dyke and four elderly white colleagues – all grist to the BBC mill.

Seems the Football Association has too many middle-aged white men. Oh and another thing, there’s tons and tons of cash to be had from the Premier League if only the Government could be persuaded to reform the FA so as it could then syphon off more of that free lucre.

Wipe away the old geezers in blazers and just think of the potential for employment for thousands more of those liberal-minded Common Purpose types!

Yes, it was very striking that the BBC, in the form of the Today programme, accepted the description of the football association as ‘old white men’ without demur or question. I had hoped Nick Robinson would have asked Greg Dyke about that appellation, but … not a word. I wondered whether NR would have been outraged if the problems of West Indian Cricket been attributed to that fact that ‘old black men’ were in charge?

Yes, “out of touch, elderly white men” pointedly used as a derogatory term is on loop today, on tv and radio. Don t recall it being used for any other race on the BBC. We of course wait for the out of touch elderly hideously white top echelon of the BBC to throw themselves on their swords … probably for quite a while.

Monday morning Breakfast off we go. Think tank I’ve never heard of reports on migrants right to stay in the UK after BREXIT. Yes the BBc using a report from some “think tank” to further their agenda. An old white man tells us Fifa is full of old white men. A cheery tale of the illegal immigrant who is 16 , yea right, first filmed in Calais, before illegally entering England. . With some do gooder “headmaster” hasn’t he got a school to run. His gripe is that he only mixes with migrants and doesn’t improve English. Perhaps he could sleep on the streets with the indigenous homeless to improve his language skills.

Yes I heard that too and was going to post on the appalling pro migrant left wing bias that is the core of the BBC.

There was no challenge of the story at all he says he is a Kurd which is a technique Turks use to claim asylum after they persecute them so extensively. He might well not have been Kurdish at all.

No mention of the fact that he passed through several countries to get here first and failed to claim asylum there.

No reason given for his asylum claim

No explanation of whether he really is the age he claims and if he has been tested for this age.

In fact they were lauding the far leftist ex headmaster who has probably spent a lifetime indoctrinating the kids he was supposed to ‘educate’.

No wonder Britains edukashun system is so poorly ranked on a world scale.

Well good for him. Now he is being fostered and educated at our expense. I doubt the taxpayer is getting much change out of £20,000 a year for the pleasure of his company. Multiply this by hundreds of thousands and tell me again why this country is in such dire straits.

Meanwhile, continue to blame the old white folk, who spent a lifetime working and paying taxes, for the failures of the social care system.

Just another day in the BBC parallel universe.

“Ten MQ-9 Reaper Unmanned aerial vehicles have been purchased to support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.” Wikepedia. Well 10 drones would make all the difference. I think not. “Fitted with six stores pylons; the inner stores pylons can carry a maximum of 1,500 pounds (680 kg) each and allow carriage of external fuel tanks. The mid-wing stores pylons can carry a maximum of 600 pounds (270 kg) each, while the outer stores pylons can carry a maximum of 200 pounds (91 kg) each. An MQ-9 with two 1,000 pounds (450 kg) external fuel tanks and a thousand pounds of munitions has an endurance of 42 hours.” Of course all they then need to do is manufacture, build and test some kind of delivery system.

Far right group National Action to be banned under terror laws

A British neo-Nazi movement is to become the first far-right group to be banned under terrorism laws in the UK. Home Secretary Amber Rudd said National Action was “a racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic organisation”. An order laid in Parliament to proscribe the group – making it a criminal offence to join or support it – is due to come into effect on Friday.
It will be the first time a group engaged in extreme right-wing activities has been proscribed. Under the Terrorism Act 2000, the home secretary can proscribe an organisation if it is believed to be “concerned in terrorism”.

    ‘Vile ideology’

National Action describes itself as a “National Socialist youth organisation” and says its movement is aimed at the “broken right-wing”. Ms Rudd said the group had “no place” in Britain. She said: “National Action is a racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic organisation which stirs up hatred, glorifies violence and promotes a vile ideology, and I will not stand for it.”

Proscription makes it a criminal offence to belong to the organisation, arrange meetings in support of the group or wear clothing or carry articles in public which arouse reasonable suspicion. Penalties for proscription offences can be a maximum of 10 years in prison and an unlimited fine. The order will be debated in parliament later this week, before becoming operationally effective on Friday.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-38286708

Hmmm. I’ve never heard of this ‘National Action’ outfit. Anyone else? Still, well done progressives for finally (finally!) finding a ‘far-right neo-Nazi’ group to swing the banhammer down on. It took you a while, but you did it – even if nobody’s ever heard of the group in question.

Just one thing. All that talk about ‘not standing’ for “…racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic organisation which stirs up hatred, glorifies violence and promotes a vile ideology…” leaves me wondering when you intend to start a frank conversation with our friends from the Religion of Peace about some of their attitudes to queers, jews and and women?

Using the politicians’ trick of answering a different question to the one asked.
The question was, why do you revel in anti British stories and neglect any pro British ones? The reply, such as it is, looks rather like something software generated.
    THE BBC REPLY:-
“I understand that you feel it to be overall of a low standard and unbalanced.
Choosing the stories to include in our bulletins; the order in which they appear and the length of time devoted to them is a subjective matter and one which we know not every viewer and listener will feel we get right every time.

Factors such as whether it is news that has just come in and needs immediate coverage, how unusual the story is and how much national interest there is in the subject matter will all play a part in deciding the level of coverage and where it falls within a bulletin.

Essentially this is a judgement call rather than an exact science but BBC News does appreciate the feedback when viewers and listeners feel we may have overlooked or neglected a story.

Incidents such as fires, car accidents, robbery and rape are extremely tragic and have great resonance with parts of our audience. However, the sad truth is that these are relatively common occurrences in society and it’s simply not possible to include every story in our bulletins. It is fairly unusual for these kinds of reports to appear on national news programmes as there tends to be a greater local interest in such events. When they are covered, they are therefore usually included in the BBC’s regional news programmes.”

BBC – Anti-Semitism: Official definition ‘will fight hatred’
“Conservative MP and special envoy for post-holocaust issues, Sir Eric Pickles, told the BBC that the new definition “catches up with modern anti-Semitism”.
“I think it’s important not to conflate Jewish people with Israel,” he said. “That actually is the point in the definition.”
Absolutely … WRONG in every sense, typical clueless Tories who are obviously counting their corrupt petrodollar support

An official definition “will fight hatred”. eh?
No it won’t. It is of no use, as we continue to import millions who follow an anti-Semitic political ideology/religion. the main influence for Nazism.
Anti Israel sentiment is now blatant, no matter how the words are mixed up or how it is dressed up – Anti-Semitism? the buzzword now of course is Anti-Zionism which deploys against Jews collectively now in the form of the Jewish state, but put simply just repeats many of the principal stratagems and tropes that traditional anti-Semitism directed at the Jewish people as individuals.
This is how any normal Jewish support for Israel or Zionism is maliciously spun in these political circles, causing hostility to mainstream Jewish positions and of course thus risks Anti Semitic outcomes.
Allowing this is an absolute fundamental to how our Labour Party ended up in its current mess around Jewish people, so now the fingers can point at Israel but not Jewish people, ie point at Jews collectively?
As usual with the Tories flawed, fundamentally and totally flawed.

“The word ‘racism’ is like ketchup. It can be put on practically anything – and demanding evidence makes you a ‘racist.'”

“Immigration laws are the only laws that are discussed in terms of how to help people who break them.”

“Even the Soviet Union, with its huge nuclear arsenal, was a threat that could be deterred by the prospect of retaliation. But suicide bombers cannot be deterred. They can only be annihilated – preemptively and unilaterally, if necessary.”

“The most fundamental fact about the ideas of the political left is that they do not work. Therefore we should not be surprised to find the left concentrated in institutions where ideas do not have to work in order to survive.”

This guy speaks our language ! Little wonder that the BBC do nothing to promote his ideas or raise his profile !

      theguardian.com/media/2016/dec/12/murdoch-sky-bid-culture-secretary-to-answer-urgent-question?CMP=share_btn_tw …

‘Vince Cable, the former Lib Dem business secretary who referred Murdoch’s previous bid for a public interest test in 2010, said on Friday: “The way Theresa May’s government deals with this is a test of their independence from the influence of large proprietors.”’

Vince Cable is correct. Treezer will face a test of loyalty to the BBC, and her government will obey.

…..very tenuous claims to a presidential mandate?? He won !!!

Daily, the BBC are fighting for their beloved Clinton. And of course also for the Remain campaign.

Why? They are hoping to prepare the ground and mould the public to accept a mew Referendum/Parliamentary Decision on Brexit and a rerun of the US election.

Dear BBC, Your useless correspondents in the USA might do some light reading on the US Electoral process. The “popular vote” is irrelevant in the existing electoral process. It carries no official mandate. It is used by the press as something to put up on their gazillion stats and charts with knowing nods and deep pontificating voices, but is not used to elect the President of the USA. Do you get it or do you need to go back to school with the five year olds?

I think the BBC are struggling to keep the “popular vote” story alive. Everyone in the UK knows that here we don’t elect our governments by a “populare vote”, we use constituencies.

In the UK which ever party takes the most constituencies wins. In the USA whoever takes the largest number of states (adjusted for the differing size of electorates) wins. We have an instinctive understanding of the system because we were brought up with a similar one. The BBC are flogging a dead horse on this one – or to mix the metaphor, it’s all sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Let’s not forget it’s not just the BBC that wants to manipulate our thoughts. The ITV main news just now:

    1. Main headline. Far-right group we’ve never heard of banned under terror laws. A few minutes of scary footage making it seem like a big big problem.
    2. Second headline. Man goes on the rampage with a knife targeting Muslims. A few minutes of scary footage of interviews with scared passengers. Muslim presenter says possible terrorist incident.
    3. 10 seconds – yes 10 seconds – briefly mentioning 6 arrests made. I’m not sure that Alistair Stewart even mentioned they were terror arrests given the brevity.

Wrong. It has been held back by people with low IQs and a lack of understanding of football, for decades.

There is no need to bring white hating into this. (Although I am sure the BBC will be delighted you did.)

I’m actually amazed it’s still up. The BBC’s problem here is grounds for removal, given their headline, without appearing hypocritical though I don’t think that’s bothered them in the past.]

They are having a problem with this HYS. If you try and up-vote any of the highest rated comments (all ferociously anti-BBC) you get this message: “We’re having some problems rating this comment at the moment. Sorry. We’re doing our best to fix it.” I bet you are. . .

What other group could be condemned purely on the basis on their gender and ethnicity in this way?

They may or may not be incompetent but not just because they are old and white.”

As a member of that racial demographic, I find that headline highly offensive. However, from past experience, my views are beneath contempt at the BBC. Complaint?? What’s that?? We got it about right.

Interesting letter in the DT today.

“Why does Michael Barnier, appointed by the European Commission appear to be heading the EU’s negotiations on Brexit?

Perhaps he hasn’t read ARticle 50, which does not even mention the European Commission, only the Council. It says that the agreement “shall be concluded on behalf of the Union by the Council, acting by a QUALIFIED MAJORITY, after obtaining the consent of the European Parliament.””

Ref the Gambia unfortunately the “retiring” President has taken lessons from the Liberal Democrats and is now contesting the result.

You will see several mentions in the press over numbers of “houses” built in various years. It is well to remember that as a result of Prescott the whole industry threw up lots and lots of flats in the noughties, which are easier to produce for the numbers game, so always remember to check if the figures quoted split it into flats and houses or just lump them together.

Last series was on 2005 so I thought “Great the BBC have made another series of an educational programme that is nothing like the usual vote a celebrity doing something rubbish we have on TV today – well done the BBC”….

    …..but then….

…I noticed something wasn’t quite right about the female historian Dr Lynette Nusbacher. She used to be a he. Has the BBC made a 3rd series of “Time Commanders” because it is a good programme or have they just made it so they can tick a box?

There is much reported about anti-semitism by the BBC. And rightly so.

Does the BBC quantify as a percentage the amount committed by Muslims?

    This from ‘The Spectator’:-

“”Here’s the thing. I will bet every penny I have and more besides that virtually all of the anti-Semitic attacks in this country — and in France and Germany and Belgium — have been perpetrated by Muslims. And because they have been perpetrated by Muslims, that fact will simply not be reported, even when it is plainly obvious that the attackers were Muslim””
