Mourners wail and scream at the funeral of drug-dealing thug and all round muslim scumbag Mohammed Yasser Yaqub.

I can see why they’re so distraught though, just looking at the photo is enough to make you weep.

Watch very closely the wailing of the Mother next time its repeated where the parents are being interviewed. She doesn’t shed one tear ! Its like very bad play acting, with eyes half shut and a ‘sobbing’ noise coming from her. Yes, she’s a mother and has lost her son, so where were the red eyes through constant crying ? Sorry but the middle eastern way of wailing and grieving with no real tears cuts no ice with me.

Tiny children learn very quickly that they can throw a tantrum, wailing and gnashing their teeth about the simplest of things, without shedding a tear…. and seconds later, having achieved their goal – whether it be sympathy, a pack of sweets, or the purchase of a toy in a store, will suddenly recover and carry on as normal

Why does this Middle-Eastern habit remind me so much of such behaviour ?

Brissles, I noticed that too. It was clear fake-wailing that led me to look at her face and see the lack of tears as I expected. They are probably quite happy as they think the performance will be worthy of a massive payout from the police.

…ie maybe gets beaten up if she doesn’t perform.

      • BRISSLES says:

Surely when a parent loses a child, ‘performing’ is not necessary ! I understand completely that some parents are in complete shock, react on auto pilot and can barely speak, let alone shed tears in their grief. But this is something different, real distress comes with sobbing and tears, not play-act wailing.

    Can someone help me here?

I am becoming increasingly mystified by EU age related voter dynamics. In Britain 2/3 rds of young people voted to remain in the EU. Whilst in Europe itself nearly all the votes supporting an anti EU party comprise of the younger voters. The complete and overwhelming opposite to here.Italy for example look like the will elect an anti Euro party. Le Pen has immense support from the young. Gert Wilders has a lot of young support and will I believe win his election to lead Holland. He has a huge lead in the Polls.

So my question is why is there such a discrepancy in young people’s votes in the EU as compared to the younger voter in this country?

Is it that there are more balanced broadcasters in the EU countries?

Is it because they are part of the EU currency?

Is because the Saudi’s have less influence in distorting truths in the EU than they do so here?

Is it because they are seeing first hand the immigrants entering their countries and changing their culture and taking away their job prospects and houses?

Is it because they have Universities that are not heavily funded by the Saudi’s promoting Islam whereas we undoubtedly have?

Is it because our youngsters are easily taken in by Lefties who support the rich and powerful like David Cameron (yes, he is a lefty), Nick Clegg, Tony Blair and George Soros, (private funder of Hope Not Hate, Black Lives Matter, etc) against the indigenous, decent hard working British man and woman. Labour Lefties BTW who live in Big London houses, are often ex Liberty lawyers who refuse to sing the National Anthem, condemn anyone with an English flag, want an innumerable amount of immigrants to feed the rich with their cheap labour whilst maintaining and therefore diluting an ever increasingly short supply of homes, education, health and social services for its electorate and supported the IRA.?

If it’s an amalgamation of the lot of them, then we will need a new Ministerial position to be included in cabinet

    A MINISTER FOR TRUTH.

Saudi has been funding most European Unis, even including Moscow. The difference is the rest of Europe didn’t politicise their further education system with dumbed down and non degrees, which if someone doesn’t have then employment is a virtual impossibility.
Most Europeans therefore are not indoctrinated at a young age, and although many countries are centralised they do not have the level of influence London has over the UK.
On top of that European countries elites do not operate a system of farming out migrants to poorer areas of the country, so that snowflakes in the Medja don’t actually have to come into contact with reality which might prick their bubble.
This means that BBC presenters can keep a straight face when they spout their poison, because they don’t know any better, and can call those of us who speak of our experiences nasty & meaningless names.

And some Southampton Carrot Cruncher blagged £250,000 for leaving his job early…Del Monte or what?
The woman who defends these rises is Wendy Piatt D`Or…current squeeze of the bloke who`s running Lloyds into the sand. But they met up for a Lenny Henry liaison behind the wifes back in Dubai last summer.
Who pays for all this? We do!

    • Grimer says:

I think it is due to the media narrative that anybody opposed to the narrative is an ‘ist’ or ‘phobe’. If people define themselves as ‘good’ they (often) automatically define dissenters as ‘bad’ – especially if the media have helpfully primed the pumps – e.g.

      UKIP = racist
UKIP oppose uncontrolled immigration. Therefore anybody else that opposes uncontrolled immigration is also racist.
UKIP want to leave EU. Therefore anybody else that wants to leave the EU is racist.
      etc.

It is very hard for a casual follower of news to break out of the lifetime of programming and think for themselves in a logical manner. Especially when the opposing viewpoint is widely condemned as ‘racist’. For example, how many people in the UK have objectively weighed up the benefits of fascism vs democracy. Not many, I would have thought. In my opinion they both have their strengths and weaknesses, but I’m firmly in the democracy camp – nobody tells me what I’m allowed to say or think! But if you tried to discuss the subject with the overwhelmingly vast proportion of the electorate they’d instinctively react with fascism = evil and you = evil for even considering the subject.

The narrative is a brand, just like Nescafé. How many people claim they’re immune to advertising but have a home filled with branded toiletries, cleaning products and food? It is exactly the same with regards to the media narrative. People will claim they think for themselves but parrot the ‘official’ line as if it were an original thought. We’ve now reached a point where the ‘journalists’ have been weaned on the narrative and can’t perceive any alternative.

An inquest into his death was also opened and adjourned in Bradford. Meanwhile, Mohsin Amin, 30, from Dewsbury, who was arrested as part of the operation, has appeared in court charged with firearms offences”

Yep! full page Al BBC spread of the violent, drug dealing, illegal firearm owning, tried for attempted murder, erm “studbadboy” criminals … funeral!
… so much coverage, so much airtime, yet you can t get the name right Al BBC?

“In their first TV interview since his death on Monday night Mr Yaqub said his son was a ‘kind-hearted young man’ and not a criminal, comparing the death of his son to that of Mark Duggan, whose shooting by officers in London in 2011 triggered riots around the country”
… is it comparing it?, so that it may cause riots?, or simply for drama?, or some compensation agenda?
The MSM are seriously at fault here.
I ve just heard from an ITV guy, that an Imam at the funeral of Yassar Yaqub apparently accused police of killing him in a ‘vigilante’ attack.

Given the son’s sources of income, would it not be prudent and sensible to check the source of the funds used to purchase these houses, and if it is found that that there is no reason to believe other than that they were bought with the proceeds of illegal drug selling, then they should be removed from the father’s possession, and sold off to the highest bidder (with requisite protection for any of the current tenants).

Thanks for the link, I found this salient snippet and the do-gooders out there wonder why I am so hostile to Islam:
But one who is born as a Muslim and then apostates (murtad fitri), he is to be killed even if he repents. It is important to understand that in case a murtad fitri repents, Allāh may accept his repentance and he may be forgiven in the hereafter, but he still has to go through the punishment prescribed for his treason in this world.

On that note, anybody here who prefers the love of his fellow man out there want to pass comment on the above. But before you do, It would help if you looked up how Islam treats those who like popping out at the Blue Oyster Bar:
“Homosexuality is such a hideous crime that if one does not repent and pray for forgiveness, he becomes like the one who has disbelieved in Allah (S.w.T.). He becomes liable for eternal punishment like the Kafirs. Hence, there is no better way than to kill this person and burn the corpse.”
                  And:
In the end we quote a tradition from Amir ul-Mu’minīn ‘Ali (a.s.): “If anybody deserves to be stoned to death twice, it is the homosexual.”

Radio4’s Today programme seemed to have developed a wry sense of fun this morning. They had the economist Vicky Pryce on vouching for the honesty and moral standing of economists and their pronouncements. In BBC eyes her bona fides must be greatly enhanced by her conviction for perverting the course of justice.

Vicky (What’s my…) Pryce – who refused to express any remorse whatsoever after being found guilty of trying to pervert the course of justice, somehow has become totally rehabilitated in the BBC’s eyes, but others, such as, for instance, Carol Thatcher, who made a thoughtless comment, never will be.

But, of course, Ms Huhne (Pryce) was married to (and lied under oath for) Chris Huhne, a LibDem MP, whilst Carol Thatcher was the daughter of Margaret Thatcher. No hypocrisy there, then, from the BBC.

Maybe a partner of a BBC employee works for Maybelline? Maybe a few ‘freebies’ have changed hands? Whatever the reason, it is nothing new. Pop stars such as Marc Bolan and Davis Bowie were wearing eye makeup in the early 1970s. It was also quite popular in specialised bars in Berlin in the early 1930s, presumably in the BBC of the present, also.

      Richard D –

The BBC clearly apply their own identity politics when apportioning guilt. It’s why DLT will never be seen again, including any recordings on TOTP, because he got a 3-month suspended sentence for touching a woman’s breasts. Compare with Boy George, who got a 15-month sentence, and went to prison, for false imprisonment and violent assault, and is constantly to be seen and heard on the BBC.

Take a look at Boy George’s criminal history on Wikipedia, and be amazed at the double standards applied by the BBC.

Of course, as far as the BBC is concerned it’s not actually the crime itself that is important, but the heirarchy of identity of the guilty and/or victim. DLT’s victim was a woman, Boy George’s was a white male. DLT is a white male, Boy George is a gay pop singer.

Mohammed Yassar Yaqub is a Muslim, whilst the police are, well, the police.

Can you imagine the self-righteous whinging if they put live cricket from somewhere in the world on at 9pm on Christmas Day on BBC1? Anyway it doesn’t matter – I haven’t watched anything at point of transmission for ages thanks to Sky+ and that also goes for the sexist adverts on ITV as well where all men are stupid.

All day Al Beeb and Sly News have been playing Thump-a-Trump, a game similar to Whack-a-Mole, but slightly less subtle. It has been touching to see these “liberal champions” suddenly leaping to the defence of the US secret services- how dare Trump have the temerity to ask to see some evidence about the claims of evil doing by those nasty ruskies. Even St Assange has suddenly lost his lustre with our media chums. Of course it is easy to see why our media giants find it difficult to comprehend the importance of checking the facts. It is after all not something they are very familiar with.

Their righteous indignation has certainly been very handy today given all those embarrassing facts regarding the good performance of our economy and that pesky Times headline “Britain has world’s top economy after Brexit”.

Maybe this is why Trump isn’t taking the reports from the CIA at face value.

“Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified at a hearing on “Russian interference” in the election that there’s a difference between “skepticism” of the intelligence community’s assessment and “disparagement” of said community. While stopping short of asking for a “safe space,” this admitted liar used the opportunity to cry on the shoulders of Donald Trump’s assembled enemies: “We’re not perfect,” he burbled, but hey everybody makes mistakes.

Clapper’s remarks were clearly aimed at Trump, who has tweeted his contempt for the effort by the CIA and allied agencies to conjure up a Russian conspiracy to put him in the White House. Citing Julian Assange’s statement to Sean Hannity that a teenager could’ve hacked the Podesta emails, Trump’s tweets evoked the rage of the Washington Establishment – how dare he question those who failed to prevent 9/11, told us Iraq had “weapons of mass destruction,” and failed to foresee the rise of ISIS, which they (through President Obama) characterized as “the JV team”!” Justin Raimondo.

I had Sir Andrew Cook a Conservative Party donor of over a million pounds interviewed by the BBC at 7.30ish this morning. He said that he would withdraw his support if the party did not negotiate staying in the EU common market. He explained that his engineering company only supply to EU countries such as France and Germany and he employs 400 people. I thought fair enough,I understand your concerns, although he said he would have no market outside of the EU. According to him the US and China are closed markets for his high quality products. Well, I thought that was a bit strange but hey, still had some sympathy until he said he would be happy with open borders as he employes a lot of Polish workers and they are wonderful, better than British workers. He said he could not train British youngsters as they are not capable to learn!! Oh, shall we rethink this again ? Mr Cook cannot maintain his profit margin and sell to expensive markets if he needs to pay more than the lowbie wage EU migrants are happy to live on. Interview over, next story with no further comments. It is now in the 8am new bulletin. Mr Cook, have you thought of earning a bit less and paying more wages out of your 10mill+ profits ? Not sure the MOD contracts will be given to you as frequently as before either.

HOWEVER, on the display next to it was 4 shelves of American produce costing a fortune ! it struck me how many Americans might be living in Letchworth that would warrant their own line of products, and yet I cannot get a jar of lemon pepper because Sainsbury’s no longer stock it ! I suppose it’s a necessary trait of the consistent bias mongers to not notice the little ironies in their assertions.

This morning BBC Breakfast ship in gun for hire Paul Vallely for the newspaper review. His top story from the press happens to be a crude anti-Donald Trump cartoon. On this unremarkable lampoon can be hung another round of sofa burbling about the Russian hacking. And here comes the irony. Our Paul delivers what he thinks is important support for his anti-Trump instincts: ‘Only 20% of Trump supporters believe the story whilst 87% of Hillary supporters do believe it’. The nodding donkeys on the sofa purr and tut in all the right places seemingly unaware that by this measure of swallowing the It-Was-Putin-Wot-Won-It nonsense they admit themselves to be firmly in the Clinton Camp.

Our paper reveiw is rather cliche-heavy: the slogan ‘Fake News’ is dropped rather casually.

Then we get the benefit of our Paul mounting his anti-Daily Mail hobby horse for a quick tax-payer subsidised canter round the BBC airwaves. Our Paul hates the Mail campaign against wasteful foreign aid spending. It’s all ‘Dog Whistle’ politics, apparently. His message: Don’t tell us about the Ethiopian Spice Girls because it will put us off the idea of foreign aid. Yes, the charity cheifs are over-paid and there are too many western consultants lining their pockets… but really it’s all good and not much money really. And we’re talking about… (big cliche coming up)… The World’s Most Vulnerable!

Oh and Mr Vallely has a bit of an axe to grind.

    http://paulvallely.com/index.php/aid-development

‘Vallely was a co-author of the report of the 2005 Commission for Africa, having being seconded to work for Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in its preparation. For more than 25 years he has been an adviser to Bob Geldof, beginning with helping him decide how to spend the £100m money raised by Live Aid in 1985 and later advising Geldof and Bono at Live 8 in 2005 and then in lobbying the G8 at the highest levels at the Gleneagles summit’

What was he just saying about ‘consultants’?

Either he was lying or his efforts were miraculously effective. Assuming that you think more than doubling the population of such a country is really what the world needs?

      • richard D says:

Got the real issue in one, restroom.

Pre-band-Aid – every few years Ethiopia, and other neighbouring countries too, underwent famine – mainly because they could hardly grow enough food to feed their ever-burgeoning population in even the best of years, and could rarely put enough food aside to cover the bad years which were certain to come.

Post-Band-Aid – population explosion – to the extent that Ethiopia will never again be able to grow enough food in any year, to feed its still-burgeoning population – which is now starting to spread out around the world. It has become an aid-junkie country, and any wavering in the ever-increasing level of aid requirement will trigger another round of famine – and there is the blackmail card (because the liberal-minded lefty idiots of this world will never entertain even a mention of the absolute necessity of birth control in parts of this world).

No thought whatsoever to the real problem – we have gone from a country with controlled population growth (harsh though that sounds, since it was controlled in the worst possible way – by famine)to a country with totally uncontrolled population growth – where the responsibility now lies, not with the Ethiopian government (ever wondered where aid money really goes ?) but with us, in the West.

Great forward thinking, Mr Geldof – and yet you want us to follow your screaming and wailing support for another uncontrolled explosion of wealth consumption by another group which seeks to blame everyone else for any problems – the EU.

As that really great track from ‘The Who’ says – ‘We won’t get fooled again !’

But who knows ? There’s just a little bit of suspicion at the back of my mind…just look at what’s happening in Nigeria…soon to have the third largest population in the world after India and China….no doubt Bob or one of his mates will soon be swearing at us and demanding our money to fund population growth in that benighted country, to be supported once again by the woolly-minded liberals of the world ?. All to avoid, you understand, an even more concerted flood of boat people crossing the Med again.

We are currently being asked to subscribe to charities providing the means for clean water in African countries. Very worthwhile at first glance, but this water comes from wells that tap into ancient water, that was laid down thousands of years ago, larger populations will exhaust this supply.
In India, Tube Wells providing water for crops and also water for swimmingl pools for the rich, bore down to a rapidly lowering water table. With depletion in coastal areas, the water table is subject to salt water ingress.
In the USA, the main wheat belt taps into ancient water, depleting ir at a rate of 3 feet per annum, with rainfall adding just six inches a year.
It cannot go on, desalination plants are a partial answer, but increasing population will lead to millions more dying than would be the case, if we allowed sustainable population levels in these countries.

It wont solve everything, but it would go a long way to relieving the worlds ills if the uncivilised kept their dicks in their trousers. A few years ago even the Duke of Edinburgh (not sure if he was in China at the time before the 1 only child law came into being) said “haven’t these people heard of birth control”. Its not rocket science.

Sadly this country could have luvvies begging on OUR behalf in a few decades time. Its well known that ethnic minorities breed like rabbits, and even if we were to stop migration today, there will still be enough migrant babies being born to cover this land with a mixed race population. At which point the white indigenous will no longer exist.

Couldnt agree more Brissles – For me the burgeoning population has always been the “elephant in the room”. Unfortunately the only really practical solutions are the harder solutions which basically mean letting nature takes its course. Or insisting on practical contraception measures in these countries but I suppose that would infringe “yooman rights”

I am afraid none of these developing countries are ever going to be able to reduce their populations as they get richer because endemic corruption, and religious and ethnic divides will ensure that they will never be able to work in unison for the common good.

Of course what the MSM would like us to do is to continue to allow Africa to export its excess population to the West so they can create the same social conditions here they are all allegedly fleeing from. Whilst maintaining the same shitty conditions in their original countries so gobby second rate pop “stars”, inappropriately behaving charity workers and virtue signalling luvvies can all regularly keep themselves in the public eye and thus still be able to milk the “charity merry go round” and its attendant pay cheques.

Pity these twats are unable to stop kidding themselves and look beyond their own selfish motives and realise that in effect all they are doing is perpetuating misery.

For these useless bastards famine really is the gift that keeps giving.

Radio 4 Today talking about the Fort Lauderdale massacre with a lying US interviewee. It’s difficult to know whether it was the BBC lying, or the security woman got at by Obama’s insane incapacity to accept Muslims are terrorists.

So we get a story with the critical information omitted. We are told that the perpetrator went to an FBI office in Anchorage, and said something which was ‘disturbing’ when he had actually claimed to be an ISIS member and that he was being ‘forced’ to commit a Jihadi terrorist act.

Why would a news station miss that critical information out, unless it has an agenda which it isn’t telling us?

Apart from the sheer luck of the Middle East Muslims finding themselves sitting on vast quantities of oil and the power they obtain from that ‘luck’, any normal businesses could not function in the region if it were not for the ex-patriot workers. All failed economies and that’s one reason, in my view, why we are seeing the Saudi led and part financed invasion of Europe. It is only a matter of time now, before science finds a new, safe, form of energy and thats what the Muslims in the Middle East fear most, (apart from ‘Science’ itself!)

Then it became the Public School types, but not in the way of Philby etc., more that they were against the British people and the Labour government.

And, of course, the really bad ones now are the Israelis, where the terrorist supporting nations are the victims that the evil British and Americans gang up against to help the evil Israelis. It’s pure left-wingism and anti-semitism – but then I am repeating myself.

I often catch a few words at the start of Saturday Live on Radio 4 at 9 a.m. before the presenters list the items for the day and I realise there is nothing in the programme to interest me. Today was no different. I heard a short clip of Gan Gan Style and thought ‘why does this always remind me of Ed Balls?’ I was right to think it, a few seconds later I heard that he was a guest this morning. I switched off. Ed appears to be very successful as using his Strictly appearances to make him the new ‘National Treasure’. This was an odious bully of a politician, Gordon’s attack dog, made acceptable by the BBC ready for the Labour Party to parachute him into a safe seat at a by-election and then ready to take the leadership when Corbyn finally resigns.

I think that you are correct about the BBC plan to have Balls as the leader of the progressive opposition, though not necessarily the Labour Party, because the Corbynistas et al will not relinquish control easily. The BBC will be promoting avuncular Ed for all they are worth making him a household name and so in touch and accessible to ordinary people.A complete abuse of the BBC Charterbut since when has the BBCbeen held to account?
Our best realistic hope for cutting the BBC down to size is that we have GE in the next couple of years and the Tories have large majority but with 50 or so UKIP MPs elected to give an overwhelming pro hard Brexit H of C. Perhaps then, with the help of UKIP and the DUP, both of which parties have good reason to loath the corporation, the Tories will be brave enough to deal with the BBC and make it subscription service .

No mention of how incidents of gun crime compare with the wider crime rate either, i.e. low crime rate might mean lower gun crime rate?
Apart from giving Iain Overton, executive director of Action on Armed Violence a soapbox to stand on at public expense, and a plug for his book, I thought the article lacked any real substance, pretty poor really. Minimum of 2 people per occupancy, and that’s a lot of people; and guess what, they will all register and descend onto our doctor’s surgery where we have to wait up to 3 weeks for an appointment now !

Clearly this is happening across the country, swarms of patients being referred to hospital, so little wonder the NHS is in a state of collapse. So, there’s only one reason why more houses are being built which creates the chaos, – migrants. End of story, and no one will convince me otherwise.

Grant, there is an economic one that you can see with the shroud-waving that goes on in the BBC Radio4 News programmes. Also the campaigning for extra, totally indirect, taxation. One section of the UK political firmament wants inflation of population, costs, the State sector, etc., and their chief cheerleaders at the BBC are happy to help.

They, too, benefit from population inflation – more dwellings = more Licence Fees, it matters not that they may be paid for by basic rate taxpayers because the occupants are on Benefits of some kind – the BBC benefits again from economic inflation because they can ramp up pay while also charging more for the Licence Fee.

Their £250,000 p.a. News Presenter is happy to have sugary drinks and diesel fuel taxed more highly because they can avoid having Government impose 60% to 65% Income Tax rate on the top band. When inflation hits 5%, they get a 6%-10% pay rise and can then afford a hike in their property portfolio where they are paying off debt in the future with highly devalued money. Living on expenses becomes even better when the cost of living is rocketing.

No such good fortune for someone on £25k a year. 5% inflation? They may ask 5% but get offered 3% and have to take it if they are lucky and not in the cohort who are made redundant as their employer cuts costs, due to the rate of inflation.

This is the ‘non-Michael Fish reality’ of what is driving the UK’s current and past economic & social policy.

                  OK, here goes.

Liberal left as exemplified by BBC have love:hate relationship with USA. They know its history, vaguely, but often get it wrong or the wrong way round or misunderstand it. They are also rooted in the 1930s and 1960s.

They see the Blairite sell-out to overseas interests (while overlooking Heath, Thatcher & Major doing exactly the same thing) as being our Civil Rights moment and movement struggle on a par with what happened in the US in the 1960s. If we then get a big economic disaster, a dust bowl moment, no matter and no problem, the Government will pick up the tab. They will do it by charging the Basic Rate Income Tax payer for the privilege, installing ever greater organs of state activity that they can then point to with all the pride of Eleanor Roosevelt admirers, saying “We saved Britain in the same way.”

There are also lots of well paid jobs as Chief Executives and Directors of all these public bodies plus you can get a BBC appearance fee to go on a news programme when the BBC decides to say how its all under threat and needs more money. They feed each other in a form of obscene rotating banquet.

Maybe I’m being too cynical? Or maybe I’ve got under the skin of the thing very realistically there. You choose.

The Glasgow shop-keeper incident came close last year but that was, in all fairness, a different form of Islam issue.

      G,

I wonder how the Egyptian judicial system will deal with it ? I wonder how the British judicial system will deal with the same thing here ?

For sure, Grant, we will find out soon enough. I suspect that as the Cult of Submission becomes more influential in all our lives, compliments of our Government and the EU, it will not be too much longer before homosexuals, women (white, non-muslim) and all the rest living contrary to the Cult’s belief’s will suffer the Islamic wrath. Let’s see how the Women’s Rights and Lesbian/Gay advocates and all the rest of them fare then.

BBC News Channel this afternoon brings the news that chinless-wonder Brussels-loving Sir Ivan Rogers is still resigned. Actually the BBC tells us he has ‘confirmed his resignation’. Desperate try, BBC.

      As,

I think the BBC are confusing his resignation from a specific post with resignation from the Civil Service. But, yes desperate to keep it in the news. They should be telling us more about the replacement. Mind you, maybe “chinless” is about to land a plum job with the BBC ! Maybe on Bake off or Strictly ?

It’s a day for spotting those little ironies. Cue the Mark Kermode and Gavin Esler trailer for the BBC movie review slot. Our Mark, playing the part of superannuated gobby right-on hipster cinema theatre box office clerk, cautions Esler about his choice of a ticket for the proverbial screen one “It’s your money, but if you will pay them for this stuff, they’ll just keep making it!” Stop right there. Isn’t that the BBC model for drama, news, light entertainment, in fact the entire output? You really want the consumer’s choice to influence output? Then you go subscription chaps!

Red Cross: NHS a humanitarian crisis!

Literally, where’s our Suuport Your Local Lefty? The BBC have upped the stakes and seen you!

Not sure about the ‘up-skirt manipulation’ referred to earlier but this is beginning to sound like a conspiracy – NHS Crisis day-in, day-out – I’m reminded of Ed Miliband’s secret meeting with BBC news chiefs and his plan to weaponise the NHS – it seems that made a big impression on BBC editors and the strategy continues.

“…where would they be without their media outlet the BBC.” Which steadfastly refuses to investigate the role Labour, under Bliar and Brown, played in breaking the NHS!

One NHS fact that the BBC is very careful to avoid is Brown masterstroke of requiring NHS hospitals to pay for their new hospitals using private funding. Whether you call the scheme the Private Finance Initiative or Public Private Partnership the funding model has locked NHS Trusts into enormously expensive contracts that they cannot afford. Huge sums of money are leaving the NHS and even more importantly Acute Trusts cannot change their pattern of service delivery because they are contractually stuck with their expensive buildings. There is lots of talk about moving services from large hospitals into the community, but the NHS cannot afford to evolve because the continuing expense of the PFI/PPP hospitals will impose double running costs. If the NHS doesn’t evolve it will collapse, but if it tries to evolve it will go bankrupt.

I’m not blaming the city financiers – they saw their chance to make money, took it and negotiated contracts that suited them. They provided the capital and are entitled to a return on their money. They are taking too much, but that is because the civil servants at the Department of Health made such a mess of negotiating the terms – largely as a result of the political pressure from Brown to get the contracts signed. If the other party in a negotiation knows that you cannot walk away no matter how bad the terms on offer, you are not going to get a good deal.

          Soft Brexit anyone?
