Watch very closely the wailing of the Mother next time its repeated where the parents are being interviewed. She doesn’t shed one tear ! Its like very bad play acting, with eyes half shut and a ‘sobbing’ noise coming from her. Yes, she’s a mother and has lost her son, so where were the red eyes through constant crying ? Sorry but the middle eastern way of wailing and grieving with no real tears cuts no ice with me.
Tiny children learn very quickly that they can throw a tantrum, wailing and gnashing their teeth about the simplest of things, without shedding a tear…. and seconds later, having achieved their goal – whether it be sympathy, a pack of sweets, or the purchase of a toy in a store, will suddenly recover and carry on as normal
Why does this Middle-Eastern habit remind me so much of such behaviour ?
She’s pretending to cry, unlike the real crying by the mothers of all the people whose lives her son destroyed, by selling them drugs; you’ll never see or hear from them (ever) on al beebus.
Brissles, I noticed that too. It was clear fake-wailing that led me to look at her face and see the lack of tears as I expected. They are probably quite happy as they think the performance will be worthy of a massive payout from the police.
Surely when a parent loses a child, ‘performing’ is not necessary ! I understand completely that some parents are in complete shock, react on auto pilot and can barely speak, let alone shed tears in their grief. But this is something different, real distress comes with sobbing and tears, not play-act wailing.
I am becoming increasingly mystified by EU age related voter dynamics. In Britain 2/3 rds of young people voted to remain in the EU. Whilst in Europe itself nearly all the votes supporting an anti EU party comprise of the younger voters. The complete and overwhelming opposite to here.Italy for example look like the will elect an anti Euro party. Le Pen has immense support from the young. Gert Wilders has a lot of young support and will I believe win his election to lead Holland. He has a huge lead in the Polls.
So my question is why is there such a discrepancy in young people’s votes in the EU as compared to the younger voter in this country?
Is it that there are more balanced broadcasters in the EU countries?
Is it because they are part of the EU currency?
Is because the Saudi’s have less influence in distorting truths in the EU than they do so here?
Is it because they are seeing first hand the immigrants entering their countries and changing their culture and taking away their job prospects and houses?
Is it because they have Universities that are not heavily funded by the Saudi’s promoting Islam whereas we undoubtedly have?
Is it because our youngsters are easily taken in by Lefties who support the rich and powerful like David Cameron (yes, he is a lefty), Nick Clegg, Tony Blair and George Soros, (private funder of Hope Not Hate, Black Lives Matter, etc) against the indigenous, decent hard working British man and woman. Labour Lefties BTW who live in Big London houses, are often ex Liberty lawyers who refuse to sing the National Anthem, condemn anyone with an English flag, want an innumerable amount of immigrants to feed the rich with their cheap labour whilst maintaining and therefore diluting an ever increasingly short supply of homes, education, health and social services for its electorate and supported the IRA.?
If it’s an amalgamation of the lot of them, then we will need a new Ministerial position to be included in cabinet
Saudi has been funding most European Unis, even including Moscow. The difference is the rest of Europe didn’t politicise their further education system with dumbed down and non degrees, which if someone doesn’t have then employment is a virtual impossibility.
Most Europeans therefore are not indoctrinated at a young age, and although many countries are centralised they do not have the level of influence London has over the UK.
On top of that European countries elites do not operate a system of farming out migrants to poorer areas of the country, so that snowflakes in the Medja don’t actually have to come into contact with reality which might prick their bubble.
This means that BBC presenters can keep a straight face when they spout their poison, because they don’t know any better, and can call those of us who speak of our experiences nasty & meaningless names.
Thoughtful – Perhaps another possibility might be that for language reasons the young here are more subjected to the PC crap which seems to infest the USA based media.
The PC crap has evolved through the universities and their professors teaching the insidious message Saudi has paid for.
Why do you think the only religion which has a PC defence meaningless word is Islam ?
Anybody else notice the Vice-Chancers pay grades in the press this morning?
can`t imagine the BBC mentioned them-but Birminghams Vice guy gets £425,000 p.a.
And some Southampton Carrot Cruncher blagged £250,000 for leaving his job early…Del Monte or what?
The woman who defends these rises is Wendy Piatt D`Or…current squeeze of the bloke who`s running Lloyds into the sand. But they met up for a Lenny Henry liaison behind the wifes back in Dubai last summer.
Who pays for all this? We do!
Hopefully the Saudis will stem THIS corrupt kinda thing anyway. Dubai`s quite close isn`t it?
Any chance of the BBC looking into this?….nah!
It could be that although they come from a family background that is nominally “British” and entitled to vote, they are not as rooted in our country as the indigenous population are. Their perceived interests do not align with the national interest.
I think it is due to the media narrative that anybody opposed to the narrative is an ‘ist’ or ‘phobe’. If people define themselves as ‘good’ they (often) automatically define dissenters as ‘bad’ – especially if the media have helpfully primed the pumps – e.g.
UKIP = racist
UKIP oppose uncontrolled immigration. Therefore anybody else that opposes uncontrolled immigration is also racist.
UKIP want to leave EU. Therefore anybody else that wants to leave the EU is racist.
etc.
It is very hard for a casual follower of news to break out of the lifetime of programming and think for themselves in a logical manner. Especially when the opposing viewpoint is widely condemned as ‘racist’. For example, how many people in the UK have objectively weighed up the benefits of fascism vs democracy. Not many, I would have thought. In my opinion they both have their strengths and weaknesses, but I’m firmly in the democracy camp – nobody tells me what I’m allowed to say or think! But if you tried to discuss the subject with the overwhelmingly vast proportion of the electorate they’d instinctively react with fascism = evil and you = evil for even considering the subject.
The narrative is a brand, just like Nescafé. How many people claim they’re immune to advertising but have a home filled with branded toiletries, cleaning products and food? It is exactly the same with regards to the media narrative. People will claim they think for themselves but parrot the ‘official’ line as if it were an original thought. We’ve now reached a point where the ‘journalists’ have been weaned on the narrative and can’t perceive any alternative.
Must say that I like the idea of a “Michael Fish” moment-where your prediction is 180 degrees at variance to what actually happened after(or didn`t).
In that spirit-can I offer a BOB(Because Of Brexit) moment.
So-to take todays example from the Naked, No-Mates Cuck-Jamie Olivier-he`s my “BOB of the Day”.
Jo Cox of course being “The Bobster to end them all”….
Al BBC for one last time its … MOHAMMED
BBC News – “Yassar Yaqub, 28, from Huddersfield, was shot in a car stopped near junction 24 of the M62 as part of an operation on Monday.
An inquest into his death was also opened and adjourned in Bradford. Meanwhile, Mohsin Amin, 30, from Dewsbury, who was arrested as part of the operation, has appeared in court charged with firearms offences”
Yep! full page Al BBC spread of the violent, drug dealing, illegal firearm owning, tried for attempted murder, erm “studbadboy” criminals … funeral!
… so much coverage, so much airtime, yet you can t get the name right Al BBC?
“In their first TV interview since his death on Monday night Mr Yaqub said his son was a ‘kind-hearted young man’ and not a criminal, comparing the death of his son to that of Mark Duggan, whose shooting by officers in London in 2011 triggered riots around the country”
… is it comparing it?, so that it may cause riots?, or simply for drama?, or some compensation agenda?
The MSM are seriously at fault here.
I ve just heard from an ITV guy, that an Imam at the funeral of Yassar Yaqub apparently accused police of killing him in a ‘vigilante’ attack.
Yes, that’s a very important point, Grant. How many lives has this twat ruined with his drug dealing? Does this get a mention on the BBC? No, of course not. I would also imagine that the majority of these “mourners” are claiming benefits and are a burden on the hard-pressed taxpayer.
PS and his “family” is grieving because they will have to rely on benefits until the next drugmaster comes along. Funny how these hypocrites drape his coffin with Islamic stuff but the Koran forbids drugs . As I say , dirty hypocrites .
I read at least two sources which mentioned that the father owned a number of houses in his locality – one source even mentioned ‘hundreds’.
Given the son’s sources of income, would it not be prudent and sensible to check the source of the funds used to purchase these houses, and if it is found that that there is no reason to believe other than that they were bought with the proceeds of illegal drug selling, then they should be removed from the father’s possession, and sold off to the highest bidder (with requisite protection for any of the current tenants).
Noticeable that reporting journalists refer to the shot drug baron as ‘MR’ Yaqub ! as though he was some respectable chap going about his business and just happened to be blasted with 3 bullets – like you do.
Notice in the above photo how one of the ‘relatives’ is sporting a sweat top with No Justice No Humanity written across it – got that printed pretty damn quick eh ?, or was it courtesy of another ‘relative’ with a market stall for personalised printed tops ?
Thanks for the link, I found this salient snippet and the do-gooders out there wonder why I am so hostile to Islam: But one who is born as a Muslim and then apostates (murtad fitri), he is to be killed even if he repents. It is important to understand that in case a murtad fitri repents, Allāh may accept his repentance and he may be forgiven in the hereafter, but he still has to go through the punishment prescribed for his treason in this world.
On that note, anybody here who prefers the love of his fellow man out there want to pass comment on the above. But before you do, It would help if you looked up how Islam treats those who like popping out at the Blue Oyster Bar: “Homosexuality is such a hideous crime that if one does not repent and pray for forgiveness, he becomes like the one who has disbelieved in Allah (S.w.T.). He becomes liable for eternal punishment like the Kafirs. Hence, there is no better way than to kill this person and burn the corpse.” And: In the end we quote a tradition from Amir ul-Mu’minīn ‘Ali (a.s.): “If anybody deserves to be stoned to death twice, it is the homosexual.”
“Mr Yaqub said his son was a ‘kind-hearted young man”
Who it appears, pulled out a gun when a car forced the vehicle he was in to stop. Problem is it was the Old bill and the armed old bill at that., he tried to fight the law and the law won.
It is strange how ‘Honour Killings’ due to ‘family shame’ don’t seem to extend to wayward sons. Why is that? I’d have thought there was far more family shame in having a gangster thug son than a daughter that dates a white guy, but what do I know.
Obviously, I’m not accusing this family specifically of honour based violence, but asking a more general question about the subject.
Radio4’s Today programme seemed to have developed a wry sense of fun this morning. They had the economist Vicky Pryce on vouching for the honesty and moral standing of economists and their pronouncements. In BBC eyes her bona fides must be greatly enhanced by her conviction for perverting the course of justice.
Vicky (What’s my…) Pryce – who refused to express any remorse whatsoever after being found guilty of trying to pervert the course of justice, somehow has become totally rehabilitated in the BBC’s eyes, but others, such as, for instance, Carol Thatcher, who made a thoughtless comment, never will be.
But, of course, Ms Huhne (Pryce) was married to (and lied under oath for) Chris Huhne, a LibDem MP, whilst Carol Thatcher was the daughter of Margaret Thatcher. No hypocrisy there, then, from the BBC.
Return of the Bearded Lady…
For some reason, the BBC have chosen to put this rubbish on their front page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/38530795/first-man-hired-as-face-of-beauty-brand-maybelline
Maybe a partner of a BBC employee works for Maybelline? Maybe a few ‘freebies’ have changed hands? Whatever the reason, it is nothing new. Pop stars such as Marc Bolan and Davis Bowie were wearing eye makeup in the early 1970s. It was also quite popular in specialised bars in Berlin in the early 1930s, presumably in the BBC of the present, also.
The BBC clearly apply their own identity politics when apportioning guilt. It’s why DLT will never be seen again, including any recordings on TOTP, because he got a 3-month suspended sentence for touching a woman’s breasts. Compare with Boy George, who got a 15-month sentence, and went to prison, for false imprisonment and violent assault, and is constantly to be seen and heard on the BBC.
Take a look at Boy George’s criminal history on Wikipedia, and be amazed at the double standards applied by the BBC.
Of course, as far as the BBC is concerned it’s not actually the crime itself that is important, but the heirarchy of identity of the guilty and/or victim. DLT’s victim was a woman, Boy George’s was a white male. DLT is a white male, Boy George is a gay pop singer.
Mohammed Yassar Yaqub is a Muslim, whilst the police are, well, the police.
I am genuinely astounded that Boy George is allowed on the airwaves. Imprisoning and torturing a man (sex worker, but so what) for an extended period of time. Convicted. Jail time. Back on the BBC as if nothing had happened.
I think he’s in America at the moment on the Apprentice. How on earth did he pass the background checks?
On the 20th of january 2017 I intend to break a 2 decade habit of not watching the BBC propaganda oops news and current affairs and watch the inauguration Of President Donald Trump as next President of the USA, I am sure that I wont be the only one who is looking forward to seeing the BBC, Al-Guardian and the rest of the lying and dying MSM spin and lie as the thing that after Brexit they did not want to see happen, Namely the election victory and inauguration of President Donald Trump. Both of which the BBC Al-Guardian and the rest of the MSM did their best to disrupt and prevent happening Sorry leftards, beeboids, guardianistas, SJWs, snowflakes etc it happened get over it and go to your safe spaces and cry over it with your fake friend on facebook change is happening AND thankfully its not changing in your direction. PS Geert Wilders in Holland and long term Nigel Farange getting the Keys to No 10 Downing Street would be very satisfying as well
Same here. It is not something I would normally watch and I have no brief for Trump. But I shall enjoy the BBC’s “impartial” coverage as their noses are rubbed in it !
As mentioned earlier in this thread, watch out for bBeeb finding a diversion ‘story’, or just making one up as they do.
There must be a list of things already stapled to any script that the autocue readers (sometimes called reporters), will have to interrupt the proceedings.
Their coverage will focus on the fact he had trouble booking a singer and the people that have refused to attend and the ‘illegitimacy’ of his election, etc. The carefully chosen guests and social commentators will stick the boot in without the BBC having to actually say it themselves. These things write themselves at Broadcasting House.
LBC Radio can be heard on DAB Radio, on the LBC website or via the free LBC app for your smart phone/tablet, ,On Freeview and on 97.3 Mhz FM (london area only). http://www.lbc.co.uk/radio/how-to-listen/
Guest – That review sums the series up perfectly – especially the bit about the wife being an SAS hero – people don’t want propaganda over Christmas (or any other time actually) – they just want normal ruddy telly. I made a similar point about “Midwives” on Christmas Day – why put that on at peak time when they know it only appeals to women. Can you imagine the self-righteous whinging if they put live cricket from somewhere in the world on at 9pm on Christmas Day on BBC1? Anyway it doesn’t matter – I haven’t watched anything at point of transmission for ages thanks to Sky+ and that also goes for the sexist adverts on ITV as well where all men are stupid.
BBC Radio 4 PM interviewing far Left group ‘searchlight’ about so called far right groups and it is almost inevitable with the 5 minute Trump / Brexit bashing that they ask the almost unbelievable question as to whether the far right influenced the US election and whether they influenced Brexit.
Of course the answer is in the affirmative, but then it seems that to both groups, even legitimate political parties like UKIP are a far right group.
The BBC are pushing very hard that UKIP is a far right party and that ‘Brexiteers’ from the North were misled and lied to.
Labour voters are turning towards UKIP and the Labour Party are using their media outlet -The BBC to condemn UKIP in any way possible.
UKIP have more in common with the working man or woman than the anti British Labour Party ever will.
The biggest lie the BBC is refusing to state, is that back in the referendum of the 70’s we were told that the Common Market was only about trade. NOT, repeat NOT political union.
To my mind the word Brexit is a Remain invention. We voted to LEAVE the EU. Not to do a soft or hard Brexit.
I don’t like the word Brexit. It is used by Remainers because they shy away from talking about our independence from the EU. People who over-use the word tend to be closet Remainers cf. Theresa May and of course the BBC.
“The biggest lie the BBC is refusing to state, is that back in the referendum of the 70’s we were told that the Common Market was only about trade. NOT, repeat NOT political union.”
The Great Patriotic UK Public were also totally pissed off with De Gaulle, who was continuing to block the UK’s entry. Heath’s treachery became clearer much later, but around then he was seen as trustworthy.
BBC news editors have performed a major contortion today as Julian Assange is now decidedly persona non grata whereas the CIA are suddenly the unimpeachable font of truth and verity.
BBC: The new cold warriors.
Is Russia really the greatest threat to the west?
Or could it be that the Imams have taken over at the media asylum?
All day Al Beeb and Sly News have been playing Thump-a-Trump, a game similar to Whack-a-Mole, but slightly less subtle. It has been touching to see these “liberal champions” suddenly leaping to the defence of the US secret services- how dare Trump have the temerity to ask to see some evidence about the claims of evil doing by those nasty ruskies. Even St Assange has suddenly lost his lustre with our media chums. Of course it is easy to see why our media giants find it difficult to comprehend the importance of checking the facts. It is after all not something they are very familiar with.
Their righteous indignation has certainly been very handy today given all those embarrassing facts regarding the good performance of our economy and that pesky Times headline “Britain has world’s top economy after Brexit”.
Maybe this is why Trump isn’t taking the reports from the CIA at face value.
“Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified at a hearing on “Russian interference” in the election that there’s a difference between “skepticism” of the intelligence community’s assessment and “disparagement” of said community. While stopping short of asking for a “safe space,” this admitted liar used the opportunity to cry on the shoulders of Donald Trump’s assembled enemies: “We’re not perfect,” he burbled, but hey everybody makes mistakes.
Clapper’s remarks were clearly aimed at Trump, who has tweeted his contempt for the effort by the CIA and allied agencies to conjure up a Russian conspiracy to put him in the White House. Citing Julian Assange’s statement to Sean Hannity that a teenager could’ve hacked the Podesta emails, Trump’s tweets evoked the rage of the Washington Establishment – how dare he question those who failed to prevent 9/11, told us Iraq had “weapons of mass destruction,” and failed to foresee the rise of ISIS, which they (through President Obama) characterized as “the JV team”!” Justin Raimondo.
Al, can you even imagine at Trump Tower, supposed highly sensitive US
intelligence, top Nat Intel, top CIA, with the Pres Elect and in walks … J “clueless” Clapper and John Brennan!
Brennan the guy who altered Benghazi talking points to some video, who converted to Islam while in Saudi and the walking liability Clapper?
Two Obama shoe in US haters? couldn t they throw in J “Lurch” Kerry as well? … triple whammy 😀
You’ve missed out the cover up & outright lying over the Saudi backing of the 9/11 attacks, which has been exposed by investigative journalism (remember that?). I now have serious doubts that Osama Bin Laden had any real involvement in such a complex organised operation, although it is possible the Bin Laden family might.
Gable and co, working with the home office sheesh!,(shakes head) all the funding the hate not hope, the UAF get … the government listening to these muppets. The AL BBC changing far right to alt right Gable lapping it up … crowing about his “inside men”.
Fascism is really growing Jerry, but its got Islamic in front of it, right now in europe
… the reaction to the politico s not addressing this problem, is of course
Geert Wilders, Marine LePenn, in Denmark, in Austria etc.
Don t need decades of waffle, or inside men to tell you that Jerry.
BBC R4 “Special” Interview! … give me a break!
And the BBC ……never heard of once bitten twice shy? Gable and the Beeb….deserve one another….Messrs Sue, Grabbit and Runne await calls from interested parties.
Even by current beeb standards this ‘interview’ was excruciating. Challenges came there none from E Mair. Instead Gable was given free rein to make a series of dubious assertions, with an admiring and fawning Eddie sitting back and lapping it all up. Fake news indeed.
Cielo – I heard some of this interview and switched it straight off.
I think the BBC must be getting very desperate indeed – they know they are losing the argument and seem to be just clutching at anything in the hopes it strikes some sort of chord with us Great unwashables.
Trouble is despite Eddie Mahrs lick spittle interview – the only people who would be impressed with this trilobite interviewee from the paleozoic period would probably be anyone in an Islington ethical coffee bar, Little Timmy from Liberal land and Eddie Mahr – sorry BBC – MUST TRY HARDER!”
. I just wonder under which stone did they find him and did they replace it gently back over him when he crawled away.
BBC bigging-up the departing first lady this evening; gushy piece featuring her oscar-worthy quivering voice and much welling up. Maybe she’ll be glad to get out of the “house built by slaves” she’s been waking up in every morning. I’ll certainly be glad to see her leave, along with her army of personal assistants. Maybe the new people will replace the bust of Churchill in the Oval Office.
The BBC continue to jump their dead sharks.
Have been doing so since they lost their whole bag of marbles on November 8th.
They cycle around the shark, unicycle and even Daliesque.
But it`s still a dead shark-and they jump it with every story they pump out to mockery and indifference from the rest of us.
Trump tweets to the world-and we jump.
Nigel Farage now has a nightly few hours to broadcast to us all from Monday.
Come on-who could have EVER dreamed of this a year ago!
The BBC have been scuttled, the hulk needs the coming torpedoes to come in 2017.
Lots of Tena pads, lots of sad emojis.
But they`re done now.
Esteban Santiago American Citizen (Puerto Rico parents) born 1990. Was investigated for child porn,(2011/12) but there was not enough evidence to prosecute, In Nov. 2016,he walked into FBI office in Anchorage, claiming he was being forced to fight for ISIS, currently on bail on an assault charge. Army National Guard confirms Esteban Santiago honorably discharged about 4 months ago. Last posting – Ft. Greely, AK.
Good bit on RT now summarising all the people beaten up for voting Trump.
..Including a psychology student experiment ..where a guy carrying a Trump sign often got assaulted.
..Why haven’t we seen this before ?
Al Beeb supported Labour in the last GE – Labour lost!
Al Beeb supported the ‘remainers’ in the EU Referendum – Brexit won!
Al Beeb supported Clinton in the US elections – Trump won !
Al Beeb are losers. Their propaganda is not working.
Message to Al Beeb Trustees, employees and researchers reading this site.. ……..
“You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
Agreed Taffman, but in being perpetual losers the Al Beeb don’t ‘arf cause a great deal of misery throughout the country. Many household arguments have been caused by BBC misinformation and bias. I absolutely hate them.
The BBC didn’t support those lost political causes, they campaigned for them. And campaigned with every sinew in their deceiving body. Each time they lost they became more bewildered, yet never stopped to ask whether they were in the wrong.
newsnight, Maitland, Jenkins and Pryce, what a nice little Guardian get together.
As the Guardian is the least read of all the national newspapers, ought the BBC not let us hear the views of people who the public do want to read?
I always read Jenkins, he is sharp, knowledgeable and cautious in his views. Those who go to jail for deceit like Pryce are by definition unreliable.
Love the way Maitland began the prog by saying: “The US election WAS influenced by vladimir Putin …” No darling. the russians may have attempted to influence the election.
Ah, Newsnight and the Guardian aren’t aware that in last few years under Obama, the Democratic party lost 1000 legislative seats, over a dozen senators, over a dozen governorships, 68 house seats and lost elections in 2010, 2014 and 2016. All down to Vlad the Hacker? I think not.
Climate Change or not Climate Change ? Make your mind up !
“The researchers say that this is a geographical and not a climate event. The rift has been present for decades, they say, but it has punched through at this particular time.
It is believed that climate warming has brought forward the likely separation of the iceberg but the scientists say they have no direct evidence to support this.” http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-38522954
Iceberg the size of Wales breaking free? Um, ideal location to send so-called, “Refugees” to – the ones that their actual country of domicile refuse to receive back?
If you think you have problems down in England with the BBC – you have no idea what the BBC is like in Scotland
Fully fledged daily ‘Fake news’ extolling the so-called elite in London and running down every aspect of Scottish life

I had Sir Andrew Cook a Conservative Party donor of over a million pounds interviewed by the BBC at 7.30ish this morning. He said that he would withdraw his support if the party did not negotiate staying in the EU common market. He explained that his engineering company only supply to EU countries such as France and Germany and he employs 400 people. I thought fair enough,I understand your concerns, although he said he would have no market outside of the EU. According to him the US and China are closed markets for his high quality products. Well, I thought that was a bit strange but hey, still had some sympathy until he said he would be happy with open borders as he employes a lot of Polish workers and they are wonderful, better than British workers. He said he could not train British youngsters as they are not capable to learn!! Oh, shall we rethink this again ? Mr Cook cannot maintain his profit margin and sell to expensive markets if he needs to pay more than the lowbie wage EU migrants are happy to live on. Interview over, next story with no further comments. It is now in the 8am new bulletin. Mr Cook, have you thought of earning a bit less and paying more wages out of your 10mill+ profits ? Not sure the MOD contracts will be given to you as frequently as before either.
Cook precisely exemplifies the globalist business model. Import cheaply-trained workers from around the world, pay them slightly more than they could get back home while making yourself very wealthy and hob nobbing with the international global elite like you.
All the time Cook is secure in knowing that his imported workers are unlikely to get unionised, politically organised or exert any democratic pressure against him and his terms and conditions.
Meanwhile insult and stifle the indigeneous population using your wealth to buy political influence and your “useful idiot” stooges in the BBC to push the open borders idea.
About the only time that a fat cat businessman gets a sympathetic hearing from the BBC these days isn`t it?
Ditto bankers and judges.
They all know how to get the Green Room schmooze from the BBC and a Guardian piece to put in the scrapbook, if they`re of that age.
Answer; make all employers oh EU and other migrant workers responsible for each employees private health care, accommodation, no six plus to a room, education for any children and any other costs. When they, and not the taxpayer, are fully funding their migrant workers I guarantee they will not be so keen on bringing in foreign staff.
My daughter and her husband and two grandchildren live in the UAE so I know how it works.
Supposedly ethical COOP is basically a drug dealer. Main biz seems selling scratchcards and alcohol to village acoholics. The overpriced foodstuff is almost a side-line.
And they fund anti fracking rentamob.

Before they sold off their bank after bankrupting it, they specialized in building loan packages to solar/wind subsidy farmers.
I was in Sainsbury’s yesterday, headed for the spice/herb fitment. I wanted a jar of Schwartz Lemon Pepper, been using it for years, but none was to be found. The spice display was reduced by more than half as I looked on in bewilderment. I was joined by two equally bemused customers looking for their favourite herbs. HOWEVER, on the display next to it was 4 shelves of American produce costing a fortune ! it struck me how many Americans might be living in Letchworth that would warrant their own line of products, and yet I cannot get a jar of lemon pepper because Sainsbury’s no longer stock it ! I do wonder at the age group and mentality of the Buyers in these supermarkets – probably relatives of those in charge at the BBC.
No, I cant live without lemon pepper – sprinkle over any roasting meat before shoving it in the oven, along with Season All, and it transforms the taste ! (what is it anyway, honestly, the clue is in the name – Pepper !!!)
Oh hilarious that man woman bloke with the beard on BBC Breakfast nearly welled up listening to Michael Obamas leaving speech. Where do we get these people from
This morning the BBC are in full Obamessiah worship this morning as Michelle Obama has made her final speech, and the BBC quote verbatim from their print wing – The Guardian. If I wanted to hear news from the Guardian I would buy the paper, I shouldn’t be forced to buy it by proxy with the threat of criminal sanction?
I suppose it’s a necessary trait of the consistent bias mongers to not notice the little ironies in their assertions.
This morning BBC Breakfast ship in gun for hire Paul Vallely for the newspaper review. His top story from the press happens to be a crude anti-Donald Trump cartoon. On this unremarkable lampoon can be hung another round of sofa burbling about the Russian hacking. And here comes the irony. Our Paul delivers what he thinks is important support for his anti-Trump instincts: ‘Only 20% of Trump supporters believe the story whilst 87% of Hillary supporters do believe it’. The nodding donkeys on the sofa purr and tut in all the right places seemingly unaware that by this measure of swallowing the It-Was-Putin-Wot-Won-It nonsense they admit themselves to be firmly in the Clinton Camp.
Our paper reveiw is rather cliche-heavy: the slogan ‘Fake News’ is dropped rather casually.
Then we get the benefit of our Paul mounting his anti-Daily Mail hobby horse for a quick tax-payer subsidised canter round the BBC airwaves. Our Paul hates the Mail campaign against wasteful foreign aid spending. It’s all ‘Dog Whistle’ politics, apparently. His message: Don’t tell us about the Ethiopian Spice Girls because it will put us off the idea of foreign aid. Yes, the charity cheifs are over-paid and there are too many western consultants lining their pockets… but really it’s all good and not much money really. And we’re talking about… (big cliche coming up)… The World’s Most Vulnerable!
‘Vallely was a co-author of the report of the 2005 Commission for Africa, having being seconded to work for Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in its preparation. For more than 25 years he has been an adviser to Bob Geldof, beginning with helping him decide how to spend the £100m money raised by Live Aid in 1985 and later advising Geldof and Bono at Live 8 in 2005 and then in lobbying the G8 at the highest levels at the Gleneagles summit’
Thanks ASI, for the heads up on Vallely’s long term association with Bob Geldof. Quite apart from the man’s inability to make coherent sense of simple sentences, I can now appreciate where such a scruffy and grossly overweight dosser gets his sense of sartorial excellence.
BTW The upskirt manipulation trick is still being used. Whereby producers cynically get female staff to wear knee length skirts and then set the camera directly pointing at knee level towards the couch .. so MALE viewers will hang around for that one in 10,000 minutes where she flashes her knickers.
Today it was a fat bird in a leather skirt slit to the thigh. Enough to put you off eating chicken.
Things could be filmed in a more dignified way.
Bet Newsnight relies now on Emily Maitlis bizarre outfits these days for at last half the blokes home early from the pub and awaiting ” How Arianne Up changed my Life” hagathon by Gary Kemp or Mark Radcliffe up until bedtime.
That`s what BBC4 on Fridays is for. To recreate a Jeremy Vine World of Unistudents in trenchcoats, affecting to be northern. Who preferred REM to Boney M.
Hoping to put up a picture of Tim Barrow to cover her next time she`s on.
Band Aid 1985 – Bob Geldof emoting about Ethiopia. All was doom, everyone was starving, most were going to die of hunger. Population of Ethiopia in 1985 – 40.1m. Population of Ethiopia in 2013 – 94m.
Either he was lying or his efforts were miraculously effective. Assuming that you think more than doubling the population of such a country is really what the world needs?
Pre-band-Aid – every few years Ethiopia, and other neighbouring countries too, underwent famine – mainly because they could hardly grow enough food to feed their ever-burgeoning population in even the best of years, and could rarely put enough food aside to cover the bad years which were certain to come.
Post-Band-Aid – population explosion – to the extent that Ethiopia will never again be able to grow enough food in any year, to feed its still-burgeoning population – which is now starting to spread out around the world. It has become an aid-junkie country, and any wavering in the ever-increasing level of aid requirement will trigger another round of famine – and there is the blackmail card (because the liberal-minded lefty idiots of this world will never entertain even a mention of the absolute necessity of birth control in parts of this world).
No thought whatsoever to the real problem – we have gone from a country with controlled population growth (harsh though that sounds, since it was controlled in the worst possible way – by famine)to a country with totally uncontrolled population growth – where the responsibility now lies, not with the Ethiopian government (ever wondered where aid money really goes ?) but with us, in the West.
Great forward thinking, Mr Geldof – and yet you want us to follow your screaming and wailing support for another uncontrolled explosion of wealth consumption by another group which seeks to blame everyone else for any problems – the EU.
As that really great track from ‘The Who’ says – ‘We won’t get fooled again !’
But who knows ? There’s just a little bit of suspicion at the back of my mind…just look at what’s happening in Nigeria…soon to have the third largest population in the world after India and China….no doubt Bob or one of his mates will soon be swearing at us and demanding our money to fund population growth in that benighted country, to be supported once again by the woolly-minded liberals of the world ?. All to avoid, you understand, an even more concerted flood of boat people crossing the Med again.
We are currently being asked to subscribe to charities providing the means for clean water in African countries. Very worthwhile at first glance, but this water comes from wells that tap into ancient water, that was laid down thousands of years ago, larger populations will exhaust this supply.
In India, Tube Wells providing water for crops and also water for swimmingl pools for the rich, bore down to a rapidly lowering water table. With depletion in coastal areas, the water table is subject to salt water ingress.
In the USA, the main wheat belt taps into ancient water, depleting ir at a rate of 3 feet per annum, with rainfall adding just six inches a year.
It cannot go on, desalination plants are a partial answer, but increasing population will lead to millions more dying than would be the case, if we allowed sustainable population levels in these countries.
Richard D. The big taboo is the mention of the words ‘birth control’, yet none of the luvvies begging for money dare not utter these words. It wont solve everything, but it would go a long way to relieving the worlds ills if the uncivilised kept their dicks in their trousers. A few years ago even the Duke of Edinburgh (not sure if he was in China at the time before the 1 only child law came into being) said “haven’t these people heard of birth control”. Its not rocket science.
Sadly this country could have luvvies begging on OUR behalf in a few decades time. Its well known that ethnic minorities breed like rabbits, and even if we were to stop migration today, there will still be enough migrant babies being born to cover this land with a mixed race population. At which point the white indigenous will no longer exist.
Couldnt agree more Brissles – For me the burgeoning population has always been the “elephant in the room”. Unfortunately the only really practical solutions are the harder solutions which basically mean letting nature takes its course. Or insisting on practical contraception measures in these countries but I suppose that would infringe “yooman rights”
I am afraid none of these developing countries are ever going to be able to reduce their populations as they get richer because endemic corruption, and religious and ethnic divides will ensure that they will never be able to work in unison for the common good.
Of course what the MSM would like us to do is to continue to allow Africa to export its excess population to the West so they can create the same social conditions here they are all allegedly fleeing from. Whilst maintaining the same shitty conditions in their original countries so gobby second rate pop “stars”, inappropriately behaving charity workers and virtue signalling luvvies can all regularly keep themselves in the public eye and thus still be able to milk the “charity merry go round” and its attendant pay cheques.
Pity these twats are unable to stop kidding themselves and look beyond their own selfish motives and realise that in effect all they are doing is perpetuating misery.
For these useless bastards famine really is the gift that keeps giving.
Quite agree. I do not blame really poor people from hellish countries trying to get out. I would do the same . But I do blame wealthy luvvies like Geldof, Bono and all the rest of these wankers from encouraging the process. In their own drug-addled minds, they think that their wealth will protect them from their masturbatory opinions. But , it will not and I hope they will face the consequences.
I agree wholeheartedly with you Grant – but unfortunately if our culture and society ends up in a state of civil war, all you will see of these bastards such as Geldof will the con trails of their 757 s heading out towards Necker Island!
Radio 4 Today talking about the Fort Lauderdale massacre with a lying US interviewee. It’s difficult to know whether it was the BBC lying, or the security woman got at by Obama’s insane incapacity to accept Muslims are terrorists.
So we get a story with the critical information omitted. We are told that the perpetrator went to an FBI office in Anchorage, and said something which was ‘disturbing’ when he had actually claimed to be an ISIS member and that he was being ‘forced’ to commit a Jihadi terrorist act.
Why would a news station miss that critical information out, unless it has an agenda which it isn’t telling us?
It was an American Army Veteran from Alaska apparently
BBC, five minutes work by me on the internet tells me it is Jihadi Esteban , who is a muslim member of ISIS – Fake News anyone?
Wow, I can’t believe what I have just heard on the R4 10:00 news.
“Voting booths in the US are to get more security following reports of the influence of Russian hacking on the US election”
Whatever one feels about the truth of the claims about Russian hacking, that’s an outrageous statement since it deliberately gives the impression that the result of the election is unreliable.
Yes there was a Vladimir in every voting booth . Anyone with half a brain knows the Ruskie’s just showed everyone what lying, duplicitous bar stewards Hillary and Co were
Yet, oddly, the BBC has never expressed any concern at the proven electoral fraud in Tower Hamlets and in other areas by people from certain Asian groups.
Perhaps it would only be of interest to the BBC if the conservatives had won.
Typical Left Losing tactic.
Blame the drones, the dull and the dopey.
Who all danced when Vlad was hacking alongside the Chinese as the Chilled President thought that it couldn`t matter. Hillary would win-so what?
So now they getting dumped by Trump next week?
Well-got to be the Russians who won it. Anything else would be just too painful for the Snowflakes Plus to contemplate.
Hence their need to get loads more needy migrants who`ll take their benefits, payroll votes and take out the white trash that prevent the New World Order. Arrested Progression has upset their entitled scripts of triumph, and inevitable steamroller to Davos and Soros.
Expect more of this bile and bilge. The Left crave power for their lifeblood and “sanity”(such as it is). They have got to be dealt with.
Anyone that has lived and worked in the Middle East will appreciate this one! – https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/01/france-peugeot-car-plant-closed-as-muslim-workers-took-too-many-prayer-breaks
Apart from the sheer luck of the Middle East Muslims finding themselves sitting on vast quantities of oil and the power they obtain from that ‘luck’, any normal businesses could not function in the region if it were not for the ex-patriot workers. All failed economies and that’s one reason, in my view, why we are seeing the Saudi led and part financed invasion of Europe. It is only a matter of time now, before science finds a new, safe, form of energy and thats what the Muslims in the Middle East fear most, (apart from ‘Science’ itself!)
I believe Islam would have died out about 50 years ago without the discovery of huge amounts of oil in the ME. Of course, the West found it, produces it and pays for it.
Reducing the funds going to the ME is a good reason to fund nuclear and, indeed, green energy.
I remember watching spy films and spy dramas, years ago, where the USSR were the baddies. Then gradually I noticed that the baddies became the Americans. There was a time when it was also the South Africans but that passed quickly. Then it became the Public School types, but not in the way of Philby etc., more that they were against the British people and the Labour government.
And, of course, the really bad ones now are the Israelis, where the terrorist supporting nations are the victims that the evil British and Americans gang up against to help the evil Israelis. It’s pure left-wingism and anti-semitism – but then I am repeating myself.
Quite right. A Martian who only got his information from the BBC and then visited Earth would feel he had been cheated. At least he did not have to pay the TV Tax.
I often catch a few words at the start of Saturday Live on Radio 4 at 9 a.m. before the presenters list the items for the day and I realise there is nothing in the programme to interest me. Today was no different. I heard a short clip of Gan Gan Style and thought ‘why does this always remind me of Ed Balls?’ I was right to think it, a few seconds later I heard that he was a guest this morning. I switched off. Ed appears to be very successful as using his Strictly appearances to make him the new ‘National Treasure’. This was an odious bully of a politician, Gordon’s attack dog, made acceptable by the BBC ready for the Labour Party to parachute him into a safe seat at a by-election and then ready to take the leadership when Corbyn finally resigns.
Deborah,
I think that you are correct about the BBC plan to have Balls as the leader of the progressive opposition, though not necessarily the Labour Party, because the Corbynistas et al will not relinquish control easily. The BBC will be promoting avuncular Ed for all they are worth making him a household name and so in touch and accessible to ordinary people.A complete abuse of the BBC Charterbut since when has the BBCbeen held to account?
Our best realistic hope for cutting the BBC down to size is that we have GE in the next couple of years and the Tories have large majority but with 50 or so UKIP MPs elected to give an overwhelming pro hard Brexit H of C. Perhaps then, with the help of UKIP and the DUP, both of which parties have good reason to loath the corporation, the Tories will be brave enough to deal with the BBC and make it subscription service .
And, of course, the BBC could not choose a more repulsive person as their champion than Balls. It seems that the more repulsive an individual is, the more the BBC love him, provided he is a Lefty.
I’m sure it’s just me, but often when I see the “Talking Balls” on television I am reminded of Herman Goering from the time before he ballooned in weight. I do mean that the looks, to me, have some similarity. Also both of them are evil and are bullies, but try to make out they are fun people and very avuncular. And both are loved by the fascist media.
Good comparison. One difference is that Goering was about the only one to show any balls at Nuremberg Trials and had the decency to commit suicide. Naturally, I would not go that far about Ed !
I don’t think I’m alone in not finding Ed Balls either funny or entertaining on Strictly, just embarrassing and undignified. His attempts at jokes were cringeworthy, and his voice would put you in a stupefying coma !
Quite a good “Week In Westminster” on just now re the role of satire in politics.
Don`t have to agree with Matt Forde to realise that he`s decent and has thought about it all. Not enough attacks on the Greens for example.
But he`s a lone voice-for the grand old Rory, Jan and Steve Richards damn him with cool silence. You don`t dig for bodies in your own allotment, the ones who feed you seems to be the response from them all.
But at least Matt Forde dared to say it. Rory Bremner, Jan Ravens, Mark Steel and Steve Richards would rather he didn`t.
Then we wonder why the BBC arts and comedy are so moribund, so disconnected with all but Jeremy Hardy at the Hackney Empire being allowed?
Yes, Alicia-the whole show seemed to be mystified that the “comedy, arts and satire” crowds are-by definition-Lefties and liberal luvvies, who`d see Trump as a fascist, but Miliband as vulnerable.
Attention?…money, empty celebrity, playing to the same old gallery of backslappers, speaking other peoples words and acting as if you mean them?
Endless TV awards, citations by the luvvie ceremonial judges of culturally appropriate nostrums?
AND-being able to spout all this at no cost or danger to yourself whatsoever. YOU get to dodge your taxes, get treated at BUPA and send your kids to private school, your same sex bunkup gets a meal ticket for life as well if that`s your bag, maan.
The Politics of Attachement, Spirit of the Beehive Mind, Hiveset to the top of the shop.
With no risk of argument, of conflict or reaping what you`ve sown.
Jon Snow to Eddie Izzard…same old crock.
Matt Forde DID reference the lefty monoculture alright, but his elders and betters only saw the coming Perrier Awards and something edgy in a linen suit with the BBCs Compliance Comedic approval for the fall.
I only lasted for 30 seconds. I didn’t know what the programme was about, but the first thing I heard was someone saying that neo-liberalism had failed to share out the benefits of globalisation and this had created demagogues like Trump and Farage. I decided that if that was the quality of their analysis of two highly successful politicians whatever else they had to say wasn’t worth listening to.
BBCLabour first acts as a manufacturer creating its brands/narratives, then acts as Britain’s biggest advertising agemcy pushing its brands at every opportunity.

Grant and co – talking of good songs anyone remember what the name of the theme tune to Timewatch was in the 1980 s
This was when the BBC still knew how to inform, educate and entertain and before it became the propaganda wing of the Labour party!- I think it was an aria – but whatever it was I cant get the tune out of my head!
“How Japan has almost eradicated gun crime” http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-38365729
Having read the above I was left wondering what the point was, apart from a quick mention of Iceland countries with high gun ownership and a low gun crime rate don’t get a look in. No mention of how incidents of gun crime compare with the wider crime rate either, i.e. low crime rate might mean lower gun crime rate?
Apart from giving Iain Overton, executive director of Action on Armed Violence a soapbox to stand on at public expense, and a plug for his book, I thought the article lacked any real substance, pretty poor really. As a counter how about heading over to the USA and giving the NRA a slot, might help negate any accusations of bias.
Seems to be about legal ownership. That is pretty strict in UK, but I would guess most gun crime here is with illegal weapons. No mention of Switzerland ? Typical shoddy BBC political activism pretending to be proper journalism.
Switzerland is a good example Grant, the BBC has covered it but not in a wholly positive light,http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-21379912
Although I’ve read a few historians who dismiss the Swiss militia as being a factor in deterring German invasion, it must have at least given the fuhrer pause for thought.
Dictators and organisations with dictatorial tendencies are rarely keen on the idea of an armed and cohesive populace.
BBC Website and Red Cross speak of “Humanitarian Crisis in the NHS “. How can this happen in one of the richest countries in the world ? What has gone wrong ? Naturally, the answer is more money. But it seems that the more money spent on the NHS, the worse the service. Is there an elephant in the room ?
The BBC and the Red Cross?
A dream team for the liberals, utter scorn at the agenda from the rest of us.
Too many Colditz films maybe.
Suppose the Red Cross have little to say about Cairo, Islamabad, Caracas, Havana and all the other places where they MIGHT once have reason to talk of.
The NHS is just a Lefty State Cult for the Worried Well-needs more aimless sacrifices of clitoris, foreskin and a few oldies as at Mid-Staffs.
This is NOT to say that many of us don`t have cause to thank them or be grateful. But the ceaseless Labour and BBC hagiographies and eulogies make no sense, unless its Soviet-style Health Fascism that we`re paying for.
And THAT is the idea-make no mistake about it.
Lawson calls its our State Religion. He`s right.
Sadly now though-the rest of the world won`t sacrifice anything but US for their TB shots, AIDS checks and plastic surgery for the next atrocity or scam.
This is just an antidote to what THEY put out 24/7. Keep it simple, black and white for the lefties is what I`m about.
Grant,
I don’t know about an elephant in the room, but on the edges of the village where I live there are four new housing estates currently being built, of roughly 600 houses each. Minimum of 2 people per occupancy, and that’s a lot of people; and guess what, they will all register and descend onto our doctor’s surgery where we have to wait up to 3 weeks for an appointment now !
Clearly this is happening across the country, swarms of patients being referred to hospital, so little wonder the NHS is in a state of collapse. So, there’s only one reason why more houses are being built which creates the chaos, – migrants. End of story, and no one will convince me otherwise.
I was about to ask you where all these people come from but you answered my question by the end of your post. What I really do not understand is what the politicians think they are gaining by all this ? What is the point ?
Grant, there is an economic one that you can see with the shroud-waving that goes on in the BBC Radio4 News programmes. Also the campaigning for extra, totally indirect, taxation. One section of the UK political firmament wants inflation of population, costs, the State sector, etc., and their chief cheerleaders at the BBC are happy to help.
They, too, benefit from population inflation – more dwellings = more Licence Fees, it matters not that they may be paid for by basic rate taxpayers because the occupants are on Benefits of some kind – the BBC benefits again from economic inflation because they can ramp up pay while also charging more for the Licence Fee.
Their £250,000 p.a. News Presenter is happy to have sugary drinks and diesel fuel taxed more highly because they can avoid having Government impose 60% to 65% Income Tax rate on the top band. When inflation hits 5%, they get a 6%-10% pay rise and can then afford a hike in their property portfolio where they are paying off debt in the future with highly devalued money. Living on expenses becomes even better when the cost of living is rocketing.
No such good fortune for someone on £25k a year. 5% inflation? They may ask 5% but get offered 3% and have to take it if they are lucky and not in the cohort who are made redundant as their employer cuts costs, due to the rate of inflation.
This is the ‘non-Michael Fish reality’ of what is driving the UK’s current and past economic & social policy.
Grant, you are right – that is in effect what they are doing to the country over time. However, I am sure they easily rationalise it, especially within a Liberal Left, non-Conservative and non-conservative and very unsustainable way in their bubble or echo-chamber (as fashionably identified and labelled) and I can even have a stab and explaining what some of their thinking probably is. If you want me to.
I’ve already lost a long reply somewhere in the digital ether to ‘wronged’ with an explanation why so many British young adults may be fond of the EU so am now rather short on time.
It is the motivation which puzzles me. They are cutting their noses off to spite their faces and for no reason that I can see. Just ignorance ? Death wish ? Makes no sense to me .
Liberal left as exemplified by BBC have love:hate relationship with USA. They know its history, vaguely, but often get it wrong or the wrong way round or misunderstand it. They are also rooted in the 1930s and 1960s.
They see the Blairite sell-out to overseas interests (while overlooking Heath, Thatcher & Major doing exactly the same thing) as being our Civil Rights moment and movement struggle on a par with what happened in the US in the 1960s. If we then get a big economic disaster, a dust bowl moment, no matter and no problem, the Government will pick up the tab. They will do it by charging the Basic Rate Income Tax payer for the privilege, installing ever greater organs of state activity that they can then point to with all the pride of Eleanor Roosevelt admirers, saying “We saved Britain in the same way.”
There are also lots of well paid jobs as Chief Executives and Directors of all these public bodies plus you can get a BBC appearance fee to go on a news programme when the BBC decides to say how its all under threat and needs more money. They feed each other in a form of obscene rotating banquet.
Maybe I’m being too cynical? Or maybe I’ve got under the skin of the thing very realistically there. You choose.
BBC Website reports that Sir Ivan Rogers quits the Civil Service. Good riddance to bad rubbish but I bet he has a plum job lined up. Merchant banking , maybe ?
Sorry Grant – We riff-raff in the Black Country don’t appreciate subtlety. Our interpretation of gentlemanly conduct is to get out of the bath to have a pee!
When I was a boy at school, in posh Surrey, our British teacher of French would say about the pronunciation of some words that ” the “P” is silent as in “bath” “. I guess he thought he was ingratiating himself with schoolboy humour , but we just thought he was a prat , without a silent “P”.
“”In 2013, the British Red Cross was targeted in a national newspaper attack on senior executive pay in the charity sector. Adamson’s predecessor earned about £193,000 in 2013 and was singled out for criticism. Adamson, who earns £170,000 a year””
For sure, Grant, we will find out soon enough. I suspect that as the Cult of Submission becomes more influential in all our lives, compliments of our Government and the EU, it will not be too much longer before homosexuals, women (white, non-muslim) and all the rest living contrary to the Cult’s belief’s will suffer the Islamic wrath. Let’s see how the Women’s Rights and Lesbian/Gay advocates and all the rest of them fare then.
BBC News Channel this afternoon brings the news that chinless-wonder Brussels-loving Sir Ivan Rogers is still resigned. Actually the BBC tells us he has ‘confirmed his resignation’. Desperate try, BBC.
I think the BBC are confusing his resignation from a specific post with resignation from the Civil Service. But, yes desperate to keep it in the news. They should be telling us more about the replacement. Mind you, maybe “chinless” is about to land a plum job with the BBC ! Maybe on Bake off or Strictly ?
It’s a day for spotting those little ironies. Cue the Mark Kermode and Gavin Esler trailer for the BBC movie review slot. Our Mark, playing the part of superannuated gobby right-on hipster cinema theatre box office clerk, cautions Esler about his choice of a ticket for the proverbial screen one “It’s your money, but if you will pay them for this stuff, they’ll just keep making it!” Stop right there. Isn’t that the BBC model for drama, news, light entertainment, in fact the entire output? You really want the consumer’s choice to influence output? Then you go subscription chaps!
Literally, where’s our Suuport Your Local Lefty? The BBC have upped the stakes and seen you!
Not sure about the ‘up-skirt manipulation’ referred to earlier but this is beginning to sound like a conspiracy – NHS Crisis day-in, day-out – I’m reminded of Ed Miliband’s secret meeting with BBC news chiefs and his plan to weaponise the NHS – it seems that made a big impression on BBC editors and the strategy continues.
“…where would they be without their media outlet the BBC.” Which steadfastly refuses to investigate the role Labour, under Bliar and Brown, played in breaking the NHS!
One NHS fact that the BBC is very careful to avoid is Brown masterstroke of requiring NHS hospitals to pay for their new hospitals using private funding. Whether you call the scheme the Private Finance Initiative or Public Private Partnership the funding model has locked NHS Trusts into enormously expensive contracts that they cannot afford. Huge sums of money are leaving the NHS and even more importantly Acute Trusts cannot change their pattern of service delivery because they are contractually stuck with their expensive buildings. There is lots of talk about moving services from large hospitals into the community, but the NHS cannot afford to evolve because the continuing expense of the PFI/PPP hospitals will impose double running costs. If the NHS doesn’t evolve it will collapse, but if it tries to evolve it will go bankrupt.
I’m not blaming the city financiers – they saw their chance to make money, took it and negotiated contracts that suited them. They provided the capital and are entitled to a return on their money. They are taking too much, but that is because the civil servants at the Department of Health made such a mess of negotiating the terms – largely as a result of the political pressure from Brown to get the contracts signed. If the other party in a negotiation knows that you cannot walk away no matter how bad the terms on offer, you are not going to get a good deal.

Brissles, give her a break, when else will she get the opportunity of auditioning for a role in BBC Citizen Khan.

I think she’s probably auditioning for a role in the House of Lords.

She might not be free to make her own decisions about showing grief.
…ie maybe gets beaten up if she doesn’t perform.

Surely when a parent loses a child, ‘performing’ is not necessary ! I understand completely that some parents are in complete shock, react on auto pilot and can barely speak, let alone shed tears in their grief. But this is something different, real distress comes with sobbing and tears, not play-act wailing.

Can someone help me here?
A MINISTER FOR TRUTH.

Why do you think the only religion which has a PC defence meaningless word is Islam ?

can`t imagine the BBC mentioned them-but Birminghams Vice guy gets £425,000 p.a.

Surely only one answer on this site – the youth of the other EU countries don’t have the BBC to mislead them!

I think it is due to the media narrative that anybody opposed to the narrative is an ‘ist’ or ‘phobe’. If people define themselves as ‘good’ they (often) automatically define dissenters as ‘bad’ – especially if the media have helpfully primed the pumps – e.g.
UKIP = racist

Thanks for the link, I found this salient snippet and the do-gooders out there wonder why I am so hostile to Islam:
But one who is born as a Muslim and then apostates (murtad fitri), he is to be killed even if he repents.
But before you do, It would help if you looked up how Islam treats those who like popping out at the Blue Oyster Bar:
“Homosexuality is such a hideous crime that if one does not repent and pray for forgiveness, he becomes like the one who has disbelieved in Allah (S.w.T.). He becomes liable for eternal punishment like the Kafirs. Hence, there is no better way than to kill this person and burn the corpse.”
And:
In the end we quote a tradition from Amir ul-Mu’minīn ‘Ali (a.s.): “If anybody deserves to be stoned to death twice, it is the homosexual.”

I have never followed her media career, but perhaps Carol Thatcher simply thought ‘stuff this bollocks’ and walked away from the limelight?

For some reason, the BBC have chosen to put this rubbish on their front page:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/article/38530795/first-man-hired-as-face-of-beauty-brand-maybelline

Richard D –

Their coverage will focus on the fact he had trouble booking a singer and the people that have refused to attend and the ‘illegitimacy’ of his election, etc. The carefully chosen guests and social commentators will stick the boot in without the BBC having to actually say it themselves.

Oh and Mr Vallely has a bit of an axe to grind.
http://paulvallely.com/index.php/aid-development
‘Vallely was a co-author of the report of the 2005 Commission for Africa, having being seconded to work for Tony Blair and Gordon Brown in its preparation. For more than 25 years he has been an adviser to Bob Geldof, beginning with helping him decide how to spend the £100m money raised by Live Aid in 1985 and later advising Geldof and Bono at Live 8 in 2005 and then in lobbying the G8 at the highest levels at the Gleneagles summit’
What was he just saying about ‘consultants’?

Not sure wheeling out a bribe merchant sulking is really going to swing things.

Got the real issue in one, restroom.

Why would a news station miss that critical information out, unless it has an agenda which it isn’t telling us?

https://www.jihadwatch.org/2017/01/france-peugeot-car-plant-closed-as-muslim-workers-took-too-many-prayer-breaks

“How Japan has almost eradicated gun crime”
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-38365729

If you want me to.
I’ve already lost a long reply somewhere in the digital ether to ‘wronged’ with an explanation why so many British young adults may be fond of the EU so am now rather short on time.

OK, here goes.
You choose.

When I was a boy at school, in posh Surrey, our British teacher of French would say about the pronunciation of some words that ” the “P” is silent as in “bath” “. I guess he thought he was ingratiating himself with schoolboy humour , but we just thought he was a prat , without a silent “P”.

The head of the Red Cross in the UK is anti-Tory cutz. Could this explain today’s headlines?
“”The head of the British Red Cross has defended his claim that the National Health Service is facing a “humanitarian crisis” due to Government cuts””

“”In 2013, the British Red Cross was targeted in a national newspaper attack on senior executive pay in the charity sector. Adamson’s predecessor earned about £193,000 in 2013 and was singled out for criticism. Adamson, who earns £170,000 a year””

No mention of the 300,000 every year who immigrate to the UK.

The Glasgow shop-keeper incident came close last year but that was, in all fairness, a different form of Islam issue.

G,
I wonder how the Egyptian judicial system will deal with it ? I wonder how the British judicial system will deal with the same thing here ?

As,
I think the BBC are confusing his resignation from a specific post with resignation from the Civil Service.

Red Cross: NHS a humanitarian crisis!

The Labour Party are a one trick pony, the NHS, where would they be without their media outlet the BBC.

Soft Brexit anyone?

Today’s Yorkshire Post letter page carries the backlash that YP may have intended to provoke by last time actually mentioning complaints about anti-frackers.
YP kings of GreenPR use trick of including tweets to get 14 Angry AntiFracking msgs onto it’s printed edition Letter Page
Now online they don’t include the tweets, but the letters page itself has started attract anti-anti-fracker comments.
