Problem is, if it happened in this country, the soldier would need to do a risk assessment and probably have to get a legal opinion and then afterwards be suspended from duty while a full enquiry took place to make sure the Human Rights of the attacker were not violated, the latter supported by ambulance chasing lawyers using the legal aid system to fleece the taxpayer.
Then we would get the peace demonstrations and Stop the War protests, with Corbyn at the front.
