Atrocious interview with Blunkett this morning on Today as he was allowed to get away with whitewashing Labour’s role in the million dollar terrorist debacle and at the same time blaming it all on the Tories which the BBC pursued their own agenda of claiming Guantanamo radicalised our boy and that we were funding terrorism by handing over these vast sums of money. [No inkling that the BBC played a major role itself in freeing such extremists and creating the atmosphere that led to the human rights blackmail of government]
Might suggest that every time a BBC journo fills up their car with fuel from the Middle East they ponder on the probability that they are funding terrorism and closer to home, radicalisation of the Muslim community.
Why are we , the taxpayers of Britain , paying compensation to this fellow . The Americans arrested and detained him ?
I know others who have been arrested , detained , fined and beaten by other countries but didn’t get any help never mind compensation by our Powers That Be .

He alleged he was mistreated by the British after capture in Pakistan on the journey to the States. And of course he had all the usual Human Rights brigade advocating and making a fuss,so the government caved.
Easy to do when you have a magic money tree.
I don’t think the Americans would have rewarded him.

In 2010 when these men were handed compensation, it was deemed at the the time to be cheaper than having a court case drag on for years which would have cost around 52 million. This was because human rights lawyers said they would drag it out. Now that said human right lawyers have been found have lied, I say regain the money from the lawyers own pockets.

Yes indeed. Drag the money out of the lawyers.

This man is one of a select few whose actions effectively destroyed this country. Bliar, Blunkett, Straw…. it’s going to take a long long time to put right the consequences of their actions. These people will just not go away!

…..And, of course, no one at the BBC ever points out the obvious: the only real evidence of ‘torture’ is the testimony of a bunch of Islamist kooks. They’re the very definition of ‘unreliable witnesses’ but the BBC can’t even treat their claims with the same skepticism that it would treat, say, a claim by Justine Greening that school standards are up.
