The BBC is in triumphant mood this morning because it believes that Boris Johnson has been ‘humiliated’. Once, the BBC would never have interpreted foreign policy issues in this way. but now, of course , the BBC leads tbe opposition to HM Government.it doesn’t just report news in a sensible way nor does it feel the need to support Britain.
Yes, Syria is a muti- faceted problem and replacing a violent family dictatorship is only one aspect of tackling it. But essentially the problem yesterday was supine G7 countries who are frightened of Russia, not one man’s ‘humiliation’. Russia only understands toughness and pusillanimous behaviour only makes it more intractable .
