From the Telegraph…apparently evidence of BBC bias is ‘not useful’…..

Eurosceptic MPs accuse BBC of ‘whitewash’ after broadcaster rejects claim of Brexit bias

The BBC has insisted its Brexit coverage is not biased as Eurosceptic MPs accused the broadcaster of a “whitewash”.

MPs from across the political spectrum have called for new guidelines to be introduced to ensure the BBC remains fair in the way it reports on matters relating to the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union.

But those calls have reportedly been rejected with James Harding, BBC Director of News, writing in a letter to MPs that he believed the broadcaster is “impartial” over Brexit.

He said the BBC must not be “pushed or pulled by one political interest or another”.

A cross-party group— including Labour MP Kate Hoey, Tory backbencher Philip Davies and the DUP’s Ian Paisley Jr  held talks with Mr Harding.

The meeting came after a study in March found that just one in six contributors to the Radio 4 Today programme’s business news slot in the six months after referendum saw the result as positive for Britain.

MPs advocated the introduction of new guidelines to ensure the BBC remains impartial.

Meanwhile, Sir David Clementi, BBC Chairman, has reportedly declined to meet with concerned MPs to talk over the issue.

Sir David dismissed claims of bias as he said that analysis suggesting listeners were more likely to hear a pro-EU voice than a pro-Brexit voice on BBC Radio 4 were “not useful”.

Dear Lord Hall,

RE: BBC Coverage of Brexit

Brexit is the most important political challenge facing our country. Bearing in mind the new Royal Charter’s first ‘Public Purpose’ is to impartial news, as national broadcaster the BBC has a special obligation to ensure that it reflects available evidence and the balance of argument on the subject as fairly as possible.

We believe the BBC has fallen far short of this high standard. No doubt the BBC often nurtures first-class journalism but its position depends on trust. If politicians and the public don’t view it as an impartial broker, then the future of the BBC will be in doubt.

When Sir David Clementi, the incoming Chairman of the BBC, gave evidence to the Culture, Media, and Sport Select Committee in January, he insisted that the Corporation’s treatment of Brexit after the referendum had walked “a good path down the middle” – despite acknowledging that fewer viewers than ever now trust its coverage. We know many Leave-voting constituents have felt their views have been unfairly represented. This phenomenon is weakening the BBC’s bond with the 52 per cent who voted Leave and all who wish to make a success of the decision made.

In particular, the Corporation’s focus on ‘regretful’ Leave voters, despite there being no polling shift towards Remain since the referendum, has led some to believe it is putting its preconceptions before the facts. Meanwhile, the posturing and private opinions of EU figures are too often presented as facts, without the vital context that they are talking tough ahead of the exit negotiations.

It particularly pains us to see how so much of the economic good news we’ve had since June has been skewed by BBC coverage which seems unable to break out of pre-referendum pessimism and accept new facts. Some of the signatories of this letter shared many of the concerns about the economic impact of Brexit, but all are delighted to find forecasts of immediate economic harm were at best misplaced. So-called ‘despite Brexit’ reporting may be expected of a partisan press, but licence fee-payers have the right to expect better.

The BBC has a much larger market share than any newspaper – it runs the most-used news website in the country, on top of its television and radio coverage. This, as well as viewers’ belief in its neutrality, means that BBC bias can have a substantial effect on national debate. BBC coverage also shapes international perceptions of the UK: we fear that, by misrepresenting our country either as xenophobic or regretful of the Leave vote, the BBC will undermine our efforts to carve out a new, global role for this country.

We are therefore asking you to take steps to correct these flaws in the BBC’s coverage of our EU exit at the earliest moment.

Yours etc.,

Julian Knight MP

In an age where Kim Jong-Un can test launch intercontinental ballistic missiles without fear of reprisals (not more sanctions!), don’t be surprised if the BBC gets away with dangerous anti-democratic propaganda.

I was told to watch RT News, and my favourite Labour MP Graham Stringer appeared, talking about BBC Bias. He said that the BBC is becoming a danger to its own future.
Apparently as far as I know, the Government can scrap the laws imposing the licence fee at any time it likes.
Lord Hall has said he wants the BBC to be independent of government, so that means that the government can destroy the BBC by giving it full financial independence, while at the same time invoking judicial reviews into its violation of its Charter obligations to be impartial, as regards Brexit and Climate Change.

Lord Grade has said that the BBC needs “to learn the value of money”
It looks like the BBC also needs “to learn the value of impartiality” if it wants money from the majority of the licence fee payers, who supported Brexit, but are forced by a Tory government to pay for something they do not want.

As far as I can determine, the BBC has held Orwellian seminars to declare that the BBC is not biased because of the following three decisions:

    (1) “Brexit is certain to fail” This decision came about because the BBC censored those with knowledge about the Commonwealth and the rest of the World from the seminar, which meant that fear of the unknown by the seminars attendees, meant that no one at the BBC thinks that it is possible for any nation on Earth to survive, if it left the EU.
    (2) “Those under 30 are better educated (Brainwashed) in multiculturalism and environmentalism” As where the Hitler youth in National Socialism. Although the Human Brain does not fully develop until it approaches the age of 30, and knowledge of the governance of the EU and Atmospheric Physics is not apparent in the majority of the population until after the age of 40. A BBC seminar agreed that those under 30 are better brainwashed in establishment ideologies such as multiculturalism and environmentalism, as are the W1A morons over 40, at the BBC.
    (3) “Evidence from Computer Models show that Climate Change is a fact, and therefore the pause or hiatus must be caused by a pause in Global warming, which according to Computer Models is a fact, and therefore the pause or hiatus must be caused by observational errors“. This decision is unique to the BBC, and is thought to originate from a BBC seminar without any causational climate scientists present, although the BBC claimed that the scientifically uneducated environmental activists present, were the best scientific experts it could find. Presumably they were the best scientific experts in the land who read the Guardian.

In a paper in Natural Geoscience on, Benjamin D. Santer, Michael Mannn et alia, et alia — a list of “global warming” respectables have admitted that they got it all wrong. Ptrivately, they are hoping that Global Warming will start again.

Normally I will always grant, that everyone can make mistakes. Honest mistakes are the basis of science, without which no progress is possible. But no such such charity can be extended to deliberate duplicity and mendacity coupled with persecution and slandering of scientists who disagreed with them.

If the BBC had existed in Galileo’s times, they would be instigating the “Settled Science” lynch mobs.

As far as I am concerned when it comes to funding the BBC, The BBC should be told that the BBC has to accept one of two choices

#1 The BBC goes with encryption/subscription/payperview

#2 The BBC funds its-self with advertizing and becomes a commerical channel and sold off.

The BBC should also be imformed that not only does the BBC have to choose one of the two choices encrytion or advertizing but on implimation of the encryption or advertizing funding models it will lose all income from the licence fee which will be scrapped.

Of course the BBC is a pro EU propaganda organisation. It is merely doing what the rest of the liberal elite wish it do with their full consent. They were surprised by the referendum result and are now determined to ensure that we don’t leave. The will of the people argument, i.e. The democratic argument , was a powerful one following the referendum and it was forcing many MPs to tow the Brexit line against their wishes. Had the Tories , the only party that at least on paper was fully committed to Brexit , won a substantial majority at the GE , that argument would still have been unanswerable. But that argument was seriously undermined at the GE when the result gave a majority of votes , and almost a majority of MPs , for parties that are either opposed to Brexit or very ambiguous in their support for it. This was taken by the Remain elite as a green light to oppose Brexit tooth and nail , for the EU to play ultra hard ball and for the BBC to become ever more brazen in its pro EU propaganda.
We had our chance of Brexit but we blew it.

Still surprising that any other of the 27 nations would want to remain tied to an enslaving, supressive dictat-we should encourage them to leave-but of course will their public vote as Britain did? They may love the benefits from the EU but they come with very tight nasty strings, & hammering induction of mass immigration. In excess of 52 million Muslims resdide one way or another in Europe-their ideolgy may not be as the EU would like but Islam is encouragingly pushing foward the end aim for this eveil regeme.

A Polish leader, speaking on BBC Radio 4 about seven years ago, was honest and blunt enough to say that Poland was only in the EU to derive some reparations from Germany for WW2 and the whole of the rest of western Europe for what happened afterward.

I assume when they feel they have had their worth, they might just agitate to leave, especially if massive Muslim-oriented immigration is forced on them.

It has to be understood that the soft left Guardian/BBC and now Sky news, don’t believe they are biased. They exist in a tiny world agreeing with each other.

Those outside this world are wrong or stupid, thus must be educated, else they are clearly evil and are seen as the enemy who must be destroyed for the good of mankind.

Well said, scribblingscribe. The media are convinced they are right and that the rest of us are either uneducated or simply bad. This is why the BBC cannot be reformed. Even if you were to sack the entire broadcasting staff at the BBC, the replacements you hired would be just as bad.

Until we can get a grip on the indoctrination process in this country, we are never going to be able to undo the vast damage that entryism has done over the past 50 years.

That’s the $64,000 question, isn’t it? I once had some hopes that we might be able to change things, or at least shift the momentum (!) by getting a few proper conservatives into Parliament via UKIP. A trickle could have become a stream once the public was exposed to common sense and factual arguments.

The ‘nu establishment’ (the media, academia and their offspring) seem to have made it impossible to change things by election (‘Brexit’ very much going that way, it seems) so it looks like we will have to go the same way as the Left did, by forming pressure groups and demanding attention is paid. Organising via the Internet is the only way to do this, as they own the media.

If that doesn’t work then I fear it will be down to civil disobedience (tax strikes, boycotts and so on) and if they don’t work, I don’t doubt someone will come along and organise something a bit nastier.

People say the British will never resort to such things but they are people who have never studied history. There are precedents and they are unpleasant, which is why we are slow to stir. But God help them if we ever do!

            GC,
I think that the elite’s opposition to Brexit is highly regrettable in the face of the referendum result but not at all surprising. Elites of any sort like power and like the privilege it brings and they fight hard and dirty to retain it. But beside our issues with the undemocratic thwarting of Brexit , the growing threat of Islamisation of the whole of European continent is much , much bigger. It will change our continent for ever and end the civilisation which created the modern world .
Curiously the same elite that wishes to thwart Brexit also seems reluctant to oppose Islamisation. They really don’t seem to grasp that with a couple of generations they and their off spring will be consumed by Islam. The tolerant societies that they presently live in , and which largely pre date their rise to power, will be replaced by an intolerant religion/way of life , that will dismantle everything that they claim to value. Why the current elite are behaving as though Islam is not a far bigger threat to themselves than Brexit is, remains a mystery.

We did win a civil war against the House of Lords in 1649.
But it was restored in 1660. Today the House of Lords is the worlds biggest and most undemocratic legislature. A deep embarrassment for patriotic British democrats. As large, but less democratic than the Chinese Communist Party Congress. In fact its so anti-democratic, that it is full of the most fanatical anti-democratic supranationalist elitists in the World, including John Prescott.

Jeremy Corbyn has announced plans to abolish the House of Lords. So if the Tories want to win the next election. I would advise them to pull the rug under Jeremy Corbyn’s feet.

We`ve had 45 years of these clowns, and you can count on one hand the few politicians worth a damn.
Moral and intellectual pigmies all of them.
We the electorate have got some responsibilty though.
Earlier generations had to slough off the Nazis and Communists, whereas we can`t even ensure that the TV License is unenforceable, that capital punishment is an option for Lee Rigbys killers.
We`ve believed that the NHS is a god, that sport is worthy of worship and that corrupt MPs can appear once more as BBC commentators or heads of Childrens Services. We`ve binned our faith and heritage for some hummous and a holiday in Dubai.
The MPs expenses in 2009 should have created a revolution but we settled for John Bercow as if THAT was any kind of progress.
As far as I`m concerned we now have a choice of a civil war or a holy one.
The civil war against the crims and the BBCs chosen deviant vessels who`ve had our streets since 2009 ought to get us firmed up for the holy one to follow.
As things stand, we`re not match fit for Islam-and we need to be, seeing our leaders have cringed before the Islamist vanguard and let them run amok througout our culture.
Remember that WE are the insurgents now, about time we started preparing to be so.
