    This character has made a living from sneering at politicians and screaming at Mrs Thatcher . He is the ideal smug beeboid who has replaced comedians who once graced the BBC but passed the torch on to university types who got off on fame and fortune by easy laughs but not a lot of comedy .

    He ll probably get a tribute programme in the style of Jimmy a Saville which I watched but sadly didn’t tape .

        He never was funny but has made a nice living regurgitating the group think trigger words. Compared to the
        likes of Richard Ingrams, Alan Coren, Willie Rushton etc., Hardy is a nothing.

    In the 1980s Hardy married the American comedienne Kit Hollerbach, who used to work with him on the comedy circuit and on radio. They are no longer married. He has since admitted on air that the marriage was a sham, to enable Hollerbach to stay in the UK.

    Amazingly, it appears that the authorities have no interest in pursuing this matter, even though he has publicly admitted committing a crime. How strange is that? It must be great to be one of the left wing protected class.

    Just as football died when Robbie Savage was offered up as an “expert”-so Radio 4 comedy died when Linda Smith died, but Jeremy Hardy was allowed to stay here to pimp off her memory.
    That`s all his act has been now since 2004-he wouldn`t even fill a phone box outside the Guardian office , had he not been given the eternal gig for life that is Radio 4 comedy.
    A university hall of residence sheet made stiff with lefty residue…Southampton University needs to be made to apologise for giving Hardy and Taylor (M) their “degrees”.
    Comedy in the UK died when Eddie Izzard decided to weaponise himself as a lefty tool.

    What an odious piece of work Hardy is – no wonder the BBC loves him.

    It’s a favourite ploy of the Left to say ‘It’s like saying….’ then compare it with something that has no equivalence whatsoever.

    Comparing the crime of paedophilia, which is absolutely a crime because the law defines it as such, to arming the country with a nuclear deterrent* which is most definitely not a crime, not even under international law, is a deliberate attempt to confuse and obfuscate.

    Good job for Hardy the victims of Muslim rape gangs and their families have some dignity, else he’d be the subject of a sustained hate campaign.

    *Memo to the Left: it does work – ask Israel.

    Had to look him up.Thankfully I have never seen him but I gave up on BBC comedies and panel shows some years back.He looks like a typical sneering leftie who thinks he’s better than the rest f us.

      Hmmm… he can’t remember the incident, but somehow knows that it must have been due to his being drunk….???? And what was he doing inviting a 14-year-old boy, alone, to a drunken party ?

      Not the sort of questions that the BBC would ever even try to pose about a ‘media star’, and a Donald Trump hater to boot.

    Hardy, one of the biggest reasons why I stopped tuning into the comedy show that used to be on Radio 4 on Friday at 6.30. Just an endless blast fest of anti Brexit, anti Tory with virtually no counter against the remainers and socialists.

    There are some funny comedians on BBC radio, I think Tom Wrigglesworth is very amusing.

    There has been something, that I question even as humour, recently on I think the Thursday’ 6.30 spot of some person talking about adoption. I switched off pretty fast, but it wasn’t’ by any stretch of the imagination humour.

    When I was young comedy had very little to do with politics. Even the great Dave Allen only commented on the craziness of life itself (with a bit of banter against the Catholic church!).

      I have been watching repeats (on some weird channel) of “Open All Hours” and it reminds me of comedy without spite. Of course it would not be acceptable on BBC today – risqué humour, amusing one-liners, pantomime jokes, and nothing political.

        Charmbrights, ‘Open All Hours’ breaches numerous comedy taboos nowadays:
        – makes fun of disability (Arkwright’s stammer)
        – makes fun of EU workers from eastern Europe (jokes about Granville’s Hungarian ancestry)
        – mocks women, and what’s more, women that are members of Our Wonderful NHS (Nurse Gladys Emmanuel) by treating Arkwright’s attempts to sexually assault her as a joke
        – makes out that industrial injuries/health and safety breaches (Arkwright’s till) are something to laugh at.
        – contains an episode where Granville is shown pretending to be an Indian woman by wearing a sari and putting stove blacking on his face. This clearly goes against racial and ‘trans’ sensibilities.

    Hardy is one of those dyed in the wood lefty twonks which the BBC rely on to signal their real bias against normality.

    He just isn’t funny, and a good TV tax-payer-funded provider of humour would shut him out PDQ, but there we have it, the BBC couldn’t really give a cuss, so we get the dross like him, but only if we ever have to hear it.

    He’s really a sad old git, wanking himself off against the silly old bag Tossedviggety and is probably the result of a sad background in a sad family.

    Perhaps Hardy was trying to take some of the hatred of paedophiles away, to normalise this type of behaviour, after all we know fellow leftist Harry Hartman was keen to see the age of consent reduced to 12 years old . Perhaps this is a leftist tendency that people like Hardy are seeking to make acceptable. Do we know what Jeremy thinks of it? Oh perhaps he darent say for fear of upsetting one of his minority groups such as Paedophiles for Labour.

    Thinking about how dire BBC “comedy” is these days, I remembered the people who used to write to Terry Wogan’s radio programme. There was so much genuine wit and spontaneity there.
