Midweek Open Thread

The BBC described how the raging, embittered and resentful Remainer Lord [unelected] Adonis explained his ‘reasons in an excoriating letter’ for his resignation.  Trouble is, though the BBC presented his comments as rational and hard-hitting, they were far from that, being nothing less than a furiously frothy-mouthed, eye-swivelling, green-inked screed venting Adonis’s massive arrogance and frustration that he can’t have his way…a bit of a temper tantrum with teddy going in the corner.

How many more Remainers will make the leap from their ivory towers sacrificing themselves for the cause and the headlines?  Headlines the BBC is sure to give them along with a promise of constant referral to the ‘reasons’ they give for their resignation in any futher news reports that paint Brexit and the Government’s approach to, well, everything as a problem ala Alan Milburn.

Spot any more BBC bias….list it all here…..

As has been mentioned in earlier posts – I have received my quarterly threats from TVL, some chap called Hales in Southend. In the interest of full disclosure, I’ve not had a TVL since 1993 but the letters keep turning up. The latest said I could get a TVL from as little as £6 per week, which according to my abbotulator = £312 pa. Go figure.

Beware of goons masquerading as canvassers who knock your door seeking information for a poll on “what TV programmes you watch.”
They wave ‘bait’ such as a box of chocolates in your face to tempt you to take the survey.
      Its a trap!

    A House Through Time.
BBC 2 documentary about a 200 year old Liverpool house from its construction to the current time. Tracing the lives of all of the inhabitants, and people who lived in the house throughout its existence.
Perfectly innocuous I would have thought, until we come to a guy called Wilfred Steel who moved in during 1850’s
The dark skinned presenter with dreadlocks announces Wilfred worked as a broker and was involved with a sinister import….. Cotton. Yes cotton.
The stuff that was grown and picked by black slaves in America.
Anyway , the price of cotton collapsed and our poor Wilfred went bust and he ended up in Lancaster debtor prison much to the delight of our presenter who stated that he had no sympathy for this poor guy for being involved in such a dastardly product.
However, Wilfred does redeem himself somewhat as on his release from jail, he emigrates to America to join The Union Army. Presenter happy again..
I guess the producers must have searched to find a house with such history. Probably why they ended up with a house in Liverpool….

    Re NHS ‘crisis’.
We watched the ITV news at 10.
They went on the NHS crisis but there was no Fiona Bruce eye-rolling and head-shaking. Instead, a mainly straight bat and even some context and analysis.
We even had a mention of population growth, we had the long term increase in investment, and the long term increase in demand, and the long term increase in elderly admissions with complex cases (costs not reflected in public sector final salary pension schemes btw).

All in all , a pretty good stab. What a change from the virtue-signalling bilge on the bBBC.

It’s good to see President Trump has cut off aid to the pakis – Shame we couldn’t do the same as the government gives the pakis £350 000 000 a year of taxpayers’ borrowed money. Madness. Madness.

How is this not a parody? What sports fan wants to know this? Is there a safe space anywhere free from their relentless propaganda?

I care for facts over narrative. So what if this one female refugee has become a footballer. What are the facts for ‘refugees’ as a whole? What percentage are employed? Do they share our values? How many are male? What are their thoughts on women? Or are such crucial questions hate/thought crime?

Are we honestly expected to believe that as well as doctors and engineers, the next Lionel Messi awaits if we just let in S many migrants as possible?

Can’t help but notice BBC News going all hanging judge this morning putting out the hue and cry on this character Worboys. Personally I’d throw away the key.

Of course it’s a case of victim top trumps – on any other crime the BBC would be more comfortable pleading the case of the accused and lobbying for lighter prison sentences.

You know the BBC have the green light to go full tilt on this one when you hear the phrase “He drove a black cab around exclusive areas of west London cruising for women”

Were his crime havng jumped in a mini cab and cruised the less salubrious areas of northern towns we guess the BBC’s agitation at his release would be less, shall we say, high profile. Other personal factors and characteristics of victims and perpetrator may also have come into play.

I would too throw away the key – but has anyone noticed how the BBC keep saying he raped 12 women when in fact he only raped 1 and assaulted 11. The point being that they are mis reporting the news but get away with it. Accuracy is important in all cases. Don’t get me wrong I would leave him in jail but facts need to be facts not News-speak as in 1984 – enjoying reading it.

        “…he only raped 1 and assaulted 11”

It’s all about the narrative, dear boy, the narrative. On other occasions we find the BBC are far more particular with the legal actualities – in those cases where they are cheering on what they see as their home side.

Even so, I’m sure whatever they have said about this chap has still been just a smidgeon within legal guidelines – which always provide just enough legroom for your chosen narrative to prevail.

Plus it’s most important we the audience (which we want to be properly cohesive in a certain sense) have this example and the large numbers of victims involved lodged at the very front of our minds when consideration of other like issues become the news.

Always interesting to note the emerging pattern of news editorial decisions. Has anyone heard anything on the BBC or other UK media about the activities of a British company called Bell Pottinger? Or, more specifically, one of its top employees, Victoria Geoghegan, who has apparently been promoted within the company?
They worked hand-in-glove with the corrupt Zuma regime in South Africa, and the Indian Gupta family, in what is commonly referred to as ‘state capture’. In this the Guptas took control of many of the state departments, colluding with corrupt ANC officials to fleece the state and enrich themselves to an astonishing degree.
I recall Lord Hain having said something about the involvement of British banks in the subsequent money-laundering of stolen funds, but I can’t remember whether I heard or read it and where?
Bell Pottinger ( a PR company) apparently devised a strategy of whipping up anti-white sentiment to cover up the state capture project, and little Victoria, a racist of the first order by the sound of it, devised the plan -very dangerous in the powder keg that is South Africa- of blaming whites in general, and ‘white monopoly capital’ in particular, for exploitation which was actually to the benefitof the corrupt Zuma/Gupta alliance.
Geoghegan sounds like a particularly nasty piece of work, but finding out anything about this story is not easy; presumably UK media keep away from it; too many lefty chums who don’t want to embarrass Victoria and Co? There was a blip of Hain-linked publicity about this story and then it vanished in the haze…

Not BBC but touching similar ‘fake news’ output, Wolff’s book was featured as headline front page ‘news’ in the The Times yesterday (with further excerpts today). Yesterday’s Times article was more of a review of the book than anything resembling a news item and included many ” ” marks around unsubstantiated content. Even my 90-year old Mum was telling ‘I don’t know what’s happened to The Times. There’s no news in it any more.’

Certainly, Trump’s personality may leave a lot to be desired but I am thoroughly sick of the smooth-talking Clinton-Bush-Obama ilk of politicians who can’t help but lie when they open their mouths and, God knows, we’ve had more than our fair share of this type on our side of the Atlantic. I haven’t a clue about the state of Trump’s health but I find the endless ‘Trump thumping’ by the MSM only spurs me on to give the guy a cheer. Trump is not to everyone’s tastes.

Few politicians are, and he was not even a politician until he became POTUS.

And politics is simply war by other means, and in war survival of the fittest could never be more acute. All are tested, and only the strongest survive.

That he has persevered thus far is some kind of testimony to self-belief and willpower.

But by heavens one has to wonder how long he can keep on when the assaults are incessant and from all sides.

Now a devil’s advocate may argue that having so many enemies is a problem, but in addition to von Clausewitz there are several quotes about not having enemies meaning you are pretty ineffective as a leader. Step up Barry.

Trump is not young, and the strain of Presidency is bad enough, but all these others must be hard to bear.

Maybe what is keeping him going is that only he knows the truth behind all these allegations, claims, interpretations, tell-alls, etc, that such as the BBC are only too professionally happy to pass on as ‘news’?

Meanwhile, I have done a little research and found that Bell-Pottinger apparently closed down because of their little SA escapade backfiring. What happened to little Victoria I know not. It seems KPMG were in a similar mode, got their fingers burnt, and a few execs had to resign hastily. From all of this one gathers that drumming up anti-white sentiment in SA (you’d think the locals and the ANC would be pretty good at that anyway?) is not something UK companies should get involved in.

The issue will remain of interest as that country is going into an election soon, and whether the ANC will be able to resist playing the race card remains to be seen! I suspect not, as their record is one of failure. Who to blame?

And it shouldn’t be difficult: look at the list of ANC cabinet ministers and you’ll find no white faces. Presumably the community that generates most of the wealth in SA needs to be excluded from the top of the political table because…well, presumably it has no one capable?

        Al S, Wild Bill –
I am pro-death penalty, and would bring it back for murder, terrorism and treason. Actually for terrorists caught red-handed I’d have them summarily shot. But I wouldn’t go so far for rape, especially as our heavily politicised/feminised police and judiciary currently stand.

A forced rape with violence, or a serial opportunity rapist certainly deserves a good 20 year sentence with no parole..but a ‘date rape’ case where the woman has simply got drunk and had buyers remorse – definitely not a hanging offence in my book. The anonymity rules in these cases needs looking at too.

Al, no I don’t think I would. A victim of serious crime like rape or GBH can have their life ruined, and the perpetrator must be punished, by being taken out of society for a long time. Rehabilitate them if you can, although there are some who can not be civilised.

A traumatised crime victim is at least, still alive and will hopefully move on psychologically. Extinguishing a life by murder is irrevocable and of a different magnitude, and to my mind deserves the ultimate punishment.

If I or one of my relatives or friends were raped, I’d probably wish to see the rapist dead it’s true. But as this country’s population demographic changes its law will also revert back to the days of blood feud, vendetta and wergild. A modern state can’t really function under those conditions.

I think there’s no doubt that governments have been failing to keep us safe from violent criminals (petty or murderous) for years, although that should be its main job in my view. The lenient sentences handed out for horrendous crimes are an insult, yet commit the faux pas of beng rude to a foreigner and you could be looking at jail time. I only hope that before I kick the bucket there is some revolution or awakening in the masses to start stemming the tide of leftist insanity.

If you would want someone who raped you or someone close to you killed, rightly in my view. Why would you not want the state to do the same for someone else, if they or their loved one have similarly suffered at the hands of a rapist?
Some victims of rape never get over it and some of them do: that shouldn’t alter what the punishment is though.

Poor standards by journalists reporting on “Britain’s biggest rapist” on LBC and Radio5 live
As they refer to “100+ victims ”
Actually he was prosecuted and convicted of ONE rate and about 12 sexual assaults
..in the sentencing the cases of about 40 additional complainants were considered
So the standard is that it should be “50+ complainants”,
cos victim is used only for cases where there has been a conviction.

Does HFA have Muslim Slaughterman/men performing slaughter?

Yes, all slaughter is manually carried out by Muslim slaughterman/men whilst Bismillahi-Allahu Akbar is recited.

HALAL IS POSITIVE EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION WHICH IS HARAM
HALAL IS POSITIVE RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION WHICH IS HARAM

I always like to be helpful, and I think I can help you there.

There’s no reason to suppose that the leaflet isn’t genuine. That quote or something very like it was in the Labour Party manifesto in 1983. Remember the one? Longest suicide note in history, and all that? Commitment to withdrawal from the EEC being the issue considered most beyond the pale? In 1983 local parties were responsible for producing their own election materials and few of them had access to graphic design skills. There were no professionally-designed and coherently-themed materials from HQ. Sedgefield was still a mining constituency and the NUM will have been dominant. It’s unlikely that ANW Blair had anything to do with the election materials beyond supplying the photo, which may well have been recycled from his fighting hopeless Beaconsfield the year before. Sedgefield was the last Constituency Labour Party to select a candidate that year, not until after the election materials would have been nodded through by the CLP Executive and sent to the printers.

Did that clarify things for you?

Move along now, nothing to see here.

WildWoman, welcome back and Happy New Year to you.

I don’t remember “Commitment to withdrawal from the EEC being the issue considered most beyond the pale?”. I do remember Unilateral Nuclear Disarmament. I also remember a widespread range of tax and re-nationalisation measures. I seem to recall there was an unwinding of Trade Union legislation and a commitment to the miners’ cause along with other proposals that seemed likely to make ‘In Place of Strife’ into, for the UK ‘The Place of Strife’ with proposals for all sorts of concessions to unelected powers. All these much higher up the agenda.

Had there been a major reference to withdrawal from the EEC, it might have produced a favourable response from the Tories, especially from Margaret Thatcher but I don’t recall that either.
