“I reported on both but the angle and words and the language I used — I know the pictures I used — I was able to project my own particular political positions on things (in BBC reports) in a very subtle way.”
Mr Lewis made his damning comments last September at a Momentum rally in Brighton.
Non al Beeb – but I really had a sick smile when I saw the report that kraut scientists have been gassing people and animals with diesel fumes ——
This may have been mentioned here elsewhere – but this news coming out at the time of holocaust Memorial Day really is something. How thick can these
‘Scientists’ be to even think of such a thing…
Fedup2,
Professor Peterson: His logic is a blast of fresh air. Now, tv licence free, I’m spending more rewarding time on YouTube. Amazing what’s there. See Prof. Petersons logic on islam.
Ah, the ‘youthquake’. Just after the election was a heady time for Labour: they had expected wipeout and the relief that it hadn’t happened was palpable. Emily Thornberry was on the BBC declaring that ‘Labour had actually won’, in all seriousness. The beeb has always clung to that ‘preparing for government’ narrative.
There was also this new narrative that all youngsters vote Labour. The foolish Tories have actually adopted this, and publicly agonised over how to change that ‘trend’. They are their own worst enemies.
Labour have far better propaganda strategists than the Tories, if only because they know they can rely on the BBC to fight their corner 95% of the time.
We will know that the Tories have turned the corner, when THEY start hammering the beeb and calling them out for their bias. (Fat hope under remainer May: Brexit is BRE! Or was it XIT? Perhaps it was ‘BIT’ – a bit of? No, it must have been just ‘X’. Or was it just a small ‘x’?)
‘Channel 4 News presenter Cathy Newman has issued an apology after tweeting that she had been “ushered” out of a south London mosque.
Newman offered “sincere apologies” after it emerged she had mistakenly arrived at the wrong mosque.
She said sorry for causing a “great deal of offence” after tweeting her “interpretation of events.”‘
Here’s another name we’ve heard oncemore, you know Ben de Pear who is now backing his presenter to the hilt in the face of apparently abusive messages…
‘Channel 4 News editor Ben de Pear hand-delivered two letters to the South London Islamic Centre on Wednesday and met with the Imam and his committee to offer an “unreserved apology”.’
Man to man?
‘In his letter de Pear said he had “spoken to (Newman) at length and expressed my disappointment at her actions”.’
Funnily enough there is no mention of any Twitter abuse received nor Channel 4 having security concerns over the incident. Strange.
Which just goes to show… well, draw your own conclusions.
What was that Cathy Newman line about something ‘trumping’ some other group?
“You should not worry. You are in a market where presenters are paid at going rates ITV CH 4 pay more than the BBC. You have shown loyalty” – Alan Sugar
‘market’ = BBC is paid under threat of Prison. You cannot subscribe to listen to Gary Lineker.
‘You have shown loyalty’ = To the BBC which showed loyalty to Jimmy Savile who the BBC paid and gave a Safe Space and held back reporters who wanted to investigate into Savile’s crimes.
You should not worry. You are in a market where presenters are paid at going rates ITV CH 4 pay more than the BBC. You have shown loyalty https://t.co/BY54MsR1kj
“Happy BBC salary day. I blame my agent and the other TV channels that pay more. Now where did I put my tin helmet?” – Gary ‘£1.75m BBC Socialist whose wages are paid under threat of prison’ Lineker.
All this “pay gap” furore – is it simply serving the interests of a few one-percenter wimmin in already very privileged over-paid media positions?
Did Cathy Newman’s continued banging on about her prized example of the BBC’s vagina-brandishing presenters getting less quids than their penis-holding colleagues rather give the game away?
Could be… The Evening Standard yesterday: “Women must be ruthless to get voice….”
“says Sir Peter Hall’s producer daughter”
Yep, I’m absolutely convinced her sheer talent and unique voice got her where she is today. Nothing at all to do with her father the former boss of the National Theatre.
I think you’ve put your finger on the problem here. The media choose those whose voices and opinions they wish to promote then try to pass off those voices as somehow representative of the rest of us.
panto becomes a sport now (if you include some women in it)
“Asuka has made history by becoming the first female wrestler to win WWE’s Royal Rumble.
The match, held on Sunday, was the first time women were able to compete in the event since its inception in 1988.
But Asuka’s – real name Kanako Urai – moment to celebrate was overshadowed as Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance announcing she’s joining WWE.
The ex-UFC champion offered a handshake to Asuka but was slapped away.”
are you seriously reporting this shite as actual news sporting or otherwise bbc you are a fing joke
A group of foreign students invaded a café in order to inflict their ideas on the indigenous population of the UK. Halimo Hussain, Dimitri Cautain, Nisha Phillips, all from the School of Oriental and African Studies chanted “It is our duty to fight for our freedom”.
The reason for their self-preening ire? The café was called Churchill.
Errm, prancing around a coffee shop in London to try and erase the finest aspects of UK history is hardly the same as fighting Nazis across the beaches of Normandy to save the world from tyranny.
Anyone know why overseas students are allowed to terrorise the native peoples, because they object to Churchill, the man who saved the world from German Fascism?
No doubt the BBC will be alarmed at this unpleasant intimidation.
And also, what the hell do these children get taught at the School of Oriental and African Studies, if they do not know of our history and what Churchill represents.
Coming soon? Churchill Insurance, and it’s british bulldog mascot, to undergo a re-branding exercise to better reflect the moral views and concerns of the ‘british population’.
If you want to open a café in the UK perhaps you should call it the Saddam Hussein Eatery, Stalin’s Bakery, The Osama Bin Laden Soup Kitchen or Marxists for Brunch.
bBBC news at about 8 minutes to noon. bBBC business interview a man who destroys the credibility of the leaked report, great piece. bBBC guy clearly hoping this man was going to sex up this report for them, the interviewer then abruptly says, Sorry, I’ve been told I can’t talk to you any longer we’re out of time. Then the weather follows, padded out with ‘weather watcher photographs’. There was PLENTY of time to carry on the interview. bBBC making no attempt to conceal it’s anti Brexit policy.
I just caught that on iPlayer – Jesus H!
After the interviewer says he has no more time he does a nervous smile to the camera, starts nervously scrunching his paper notes, ums and arrs for a bit as he stretches out the stock market report. Then the anchor man has time to say “when they tell me I have no more time I ignore them” and then as you said, a drawn out weather forecast.
I bet that expert won’t be invited back ever again.
You and Yours discussing homelessness. They have not mentioned the ‘home gap’ whereby so many more men are homeless than women.
Still when Labour gains power homelessness will soon become a distant relic; the next generation will regard homeless men with the same prurient awe children today think of dinosaurs. Just let everyone who says they are homeless live in rich people’s unused properties. Simples! What could possibly go wrong?
Top Comment:
Ha Ha Ha Ha……. This is SOOOOooooooo Funny, I’m actually surprised the BBC opened up a HYS on it…… Everybody and his dog knows how bias the BBC are… BBC are the Kings of Propaganda :-)…
People like Dimbelby and Anne £40m Robinson are pain via PSC Private Service Companies
.. You didn’t think the list of 96 PAYE staff was the real list of BBC’s top paid , did you ?
Not much difference between the BBC and the NHS, those signing-off salaries and cheques aren’t bothered because its not privately owned, no one gets sacked – just moved sideways, even those at the top feather their own nest before ‘moving on’, so they all get as much as they can while they can, and those on the list and more besides have just got bloody good agents.
It is kind of funny that the BBC exhibits a gender pay bias
.. when it uses this website to stuff about 10 new “women are great, men are horrible”
articles down our throats each day.
Yes there is probably a BBC job : The BBC ‘men are horrible’ Officer
Never heard of that woman that worked in China, the one whining she didn’t get paid as much as household names that worked in war zones.
No one at the BBC ought to be earning more than the PM for reading an autocue.
This “gender bias” is just a distraction tactic by the BBC to stop people thinking about the huge salaries some of their “talent” gets paid for doing fairly simple stuff like reading the news off an auto-cue.
The real issue is the TV tax being used to pay a handful of people obscene amounts of money for doing very little – that is the real scandal
We have a female : Head of state, Prime Minister, Home Secretary, Commissioner of the Met, leader of the SNP/PlaidCymru/Greens, 60% of University graduates are now women.
If there is a shadowy organisation responsible for keeping women down then they are doing a pretty terrible job.
Rubbish graph created by a statistical incompetent. The bars should show the proportion of people at each level, not the number.
The BBC has many more male than female stars overall, at all pay levels, so it’s impossible from the graph to compare and see if the pay levels themselves are fair or not.
The LEAD story on the World At One is the ‘gender pay gap’ at the BBC. Talk about washing your diamond-encrusted linen in public.
WE DO NOT CARE!
They talk about themselves, among themselves to themselves. They never think that the poor souls cleaning up sh*t or laying bricks in the cold on 5% what they ‘earn’ (steal through a tax) do not want to have their noses rubbed in it.
Corbyn: will he last long? Just watching Sir Keir Stamer rattling on in parliament. Now there’s an ambitious little man. If I were Jeremy I’d watch my back. Will the great Jeremy euphoria wear off soon? By now everyone will have realised Emily Thornberry was telling lies on the BBC when she said Labour won the election (Could still take a while for ‘some’, as the beeb would say).
So there’s someone more polished. An ambitious man with a lean and hungry look. Probably wants a second referendum. Or doesn’t realise parliament derives its sovereignty from the people, and therefore shouldn’t even be having ‘the final say’ on Brexit. Another usurper. Jeremy tries to be a little less obvious. Can he last?
Steptoe should have a reshuffle and make Starmer shadow Northern Ireland Sec (Starmer was sticking his oar in there yesterday). That could stymie the Starmer. All he’s concerned about is a lucrative EU job. Everything else is just window dressing and pretence expressed in second-rate legalese.
K,
What about, “the country is divided”. I don’t notice the divisions when one party looses an election. People just get on with it and suffer the consequences. They may not like it but that’s the way it is.
I think what you say is true but, becoming less likely to endure. If Labour don’t win the next election, I have a feeling that the result won’t be accepted by the Left this time 🙁
A new Common Sense Party is desperately needed IMHO.
There is an interesting discussion to be had about how cousin-marriage amongst Muslims is leading to not just lack of representation and achievement in sports but a high incidence of disabilities and genetic illness. Pakistanis in particular have always struck me as very poor physical specimens. An open, fearless and uncensored debate about their religion and marriage customs might be of benefit to them.
Coal is the next thing to be banned by the Minister for Greenpeace Michael Gove .
(My guess is Tory boys think they won’t get any sex unless they say “the right thing” to Greenpeace girls (like Samantha Cameron)
BTW is the UK the great Satan of EU air pollution ?
… Of course not
Times : “He is publishing it on the day Britain and eight other EU member states tell the European Commission why they continue to breach air quality rules.”
Yes 9 of the EU countries ..not just UK
So are “tough” British prisons reforming foreign criminals ?
..ask a stupid question
Inmate mocks jail… on social media. Prison Officers need to tighten up Checks! Why do we let Albanian crooks into U.K.! We should have more robust criminal checks at Borders!https://t.co/V9u706aZdZ
“Asllani is one of 716 Albanians who were in jails in England and Wales at the end of last year. Britain signed a compulsory prisoner transfer agreement with Albania in 2012, meaning that prisoners serving four years could be sent home to serve their sentence. Only 17 Albanians have been sent back.
Britain would not deport Asllani to Albania without an assurance that he would serve his sentence there”
The story as covered by the BBC and it seems the court opinion was that she shouted racist abuse, but she shouted hostile comments about Muslims and child rapists.
It appears that the law regards Islam as a race
. . . my religion teaches me not to hurt people (Khan is a boxer) or upset people . . .
“I’m a Muslim, my religion teaches me not to hurt people (Khan is a boxer) or upset people, and to be a good person. Obviously I go into the boxing ring it’s my job to hit someone, so that doesn’t rally matter. I know I’ve got God on my side … ” – Amir Iqbal Khan {nov2014}

UK Prosecutions 2016 –
Relative to the population, the rates of prosecution for indictable offences for Black and *Mixed ethnic groups were four and two times higher than for the White ethnic group. For every 1,000 population members, 16 Black and 9 Mixed defendants were prosecuted compared to 4 White defendants.
Conviction ratio –
White defendants have consistently had the highest conviction ratio for indictable offences out of all ethnic groups since 2012 (ranging from 80% to 86%), with the exception of Chinese or Other in 2015 (84%). The Relative Rate Index indicates there is a statistically significant **disparity in the rates at which defendants from non-White ethnic groups are convicted when compared to White defendants.
Remanded in custody –
In 2016, Black and Mixed defendants were 23% and 18% more likely than White defendants to be remanded in custody in Crown Court for indictable offences***.
* This is what they do when not appearing in TV ads for furniture sales.
** More convictions for Whites’ than Blacks or Mixed Race. Evidence of the two tier criminal law system that has developed.
*** But almost certain to, ‘get-off’.

First of all they had their bit about who should be voted the most influential British woman of the past century. One dopey bint suggested Miss Shilling, who during the war invented “Miss Shilling’s Orifice”. This was a simple device which prevented Merlin engines from stalling under negative G. According to the BBC’s expert, however, it was used in our “jet engines” by the “British army”. Thanks for that insight dearie.
We were then subjected to the thoughts of the Pimlico Plumber, who wants Mrs May to go, to be replaced by “Phil Hammond” (!) or Boris Johnson (!!). Apparently, a second referendum is now inevitable. Thanks for that unique commentary mate, but I wouldn’t trust you to fix a faulty ball cock.
Finally, we had “Republican” Trump hater David Frum on, to explain why an FBI man’s resignation was the result of pressure from Donald Trump, trying to hide how the Russians got him elected. The Republicans in the House were going to release the notorious FISA memo, but only to protect Mr Trump, who is apparently an arch criminal who is trying to subvert American democracy, nothing to do with Obama, Clinton and the Deep State after all it seems. Thanks Dave, the Republican Party needs more men like you.
These were just three items, one after the other, and all complete and utter rubbish. I couldn’t stand any more.
How crap does the BBC have to get before we can get rid of it?
Education minister Nick Gibb, responding at the regular education questions session in the Commons, dismissed her claim and said the syllabus had been widely consulted on before being adopted.
Enjoying a rare day off, I casually switch on the radio while making a cup of tea. R4 has A Good Read playing in which Stephen Fry, the great intellectual fraud of our time, is paired with an actor called Alan Davies, who appears to combine the personality of a dog blanket with the intelligence of a paper clip.
Davies chooses a book by one of the great bores of post-war literature, the South African JM Coetzee, in the course of describing which and lecturing us about South Africa in the 1940s, opines that things are similar to day… ‘with Trump in the White House…’
*Click*
And then it occurs to me. As the President of the USA is slandered in this way at least 20 times a day, could he, perhaps, do us a small favour? If he sued the BBC and its acolytes (Davies would be as good a place to start as any) for slander, he could close the Corporation down in a year by bankrupting it and, as a happy sideline , clean out some of the overpaid virtue signallers the BBC continually wheels out to tell lies about him.
GC, you can e-mail the White House. American democracy is open democracy. The details of addresses, telephone numbers even, are said to be available on-line.
While you are at it, a rather more restrained, measured & dignified apology on behalf of the British media, a la Lily Allen but without the tears, may also go down well.
It’s like Donald Trump is providing a sort of whipping boy function for all these virtue signallers. They can’t bring themselves to criticise any of the numerous corrupt leaders of corrupt countries because it would be racist or anti-izlamic and that would make their tiny heads explode.
For me, it was ‘click’ the moment I heard the announcer say those dread words ‘Stephen Fry’. That’s as far as he ever gets in my listening. In fact, even hearing those words makes me want to wash out my mind with soap.
Davies is a labour luvvie just like fry and underneath that fake exterior is a real nasty piece of work. He got sued by lord macalpine 4 years ago who won the case. The beeb never mention that little titbit about one if their favoured sons
Amir Khan: Boxer throws water at Phil lo Greco in heated exchange about personal life
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/42876859
Khan, 31, is preparing for his first fight in almost two years and the pair meet on 21 April in Liverpool.
At a heated pre-fight promotional event Lo Greco said:
BBC VERSION –
“After the Canelo loss you went on a losing streak – family, wife and then you go out and tweet to the heavyweight champion of the world. What is wrong with you, mate?”
Real version-
“After the Canelo loss, you went on a losing streak, Family, wife. Then, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Guys, guys, this is not Pakistan versus India. It’s not a cricket match. Please! Please! And then you go out and you Tweet to the heavyweight champion of the world. What is wrong with you, mate? What is wrong? You go out and you Tweet to the heavyweight champion of the world that he can have your leftovers?” http://www.boxingscene.com/photos-khan-lo-greco-erupts-scuffle-wife-comment–124777
Darren Osborne on trial.
Seems to be not taking his trial very seriously. Apart from not being the driver and was in the footwell changing his trousers whilst someone called Dave and Terry were driving. They were looking to kill Jeremy Corbyn at some Pro Palistine demo and getting Khan would be like winning the the lottery he said.
Was pure comedy if it was not so serious.
Especially the statement he made about starting a Welsh terror group and calling it The Taffia……
BBC took it all extremely serious though
I thought it was weird that he pleaded not guilty
.. cos terrorists usually confess and shout how proud they are of what they did.
Yet Osbourne seemed to be making the argument of a man off his head on hash cakes.
@Looby actually when I first looked at the article it was just 12 people have voted FOR,
but since then the Yeses have doubled in % from 6% to 12%
hardly surprising the number of activists retweeting the link
Wouldn’t most news people say “that was it the news last year ?”

ITV 2.5 hours about walking today
Presenter Julia Bradbury is a bit too white isn’t she ?
..ah they’ve got Ore Oduba to co-present ..a BBC black-face covers their angst about being not upto the 12% BAME level
Strange prog : A chart of 100 walks and mostly they don’t even have video : they flick up a still and the computer pans thru while they announce the number.
Every 6th walk there is an actual 2 min video report, and every 10th they have a celebrity pop up and do a 3 min report..half the walks are in towns.
Ore ‘I won Strictly’ Oduba has clearly replaced Nadya in the BAME stakes, getting any presenting job going, and any programme with the prefix ‘Celebrity’ ! personally he has one of those smug ‘I’m so great’ grinning faces that just makes me switch channels.
Congratulations to @BBCr4today team as @Sarah_Montague, @bbcnickrobinson & @JustinOnWeb – You have got away with another year of bias, fake news, lies and downright disingenuous reporting.
I’ve just finished reading Patronising Bastards by Quentin Letts in which the author slices both bullshit and bullshitters into little cubes and ploughs them back into the soil where they belong. Excellent reading.

Whilst it was highly entertaining watching this calm and clever chap surgically eviscerate this antagonistic harpy – leaving her with nothing but broken arguments and a face like a well slapped arse.
What he did more than anything is expose the fundamental human dishonesty about the righteous feminist left where they want freedom for their own arguments yet do not even wish to debate any other ideas. He exposed identity politics for what it is – a fraudulent and hollow panacea.
Where the feminist dominated media are more concerned about the pay differentials of already disgustingly paid journalists whilst there is little interest in the rape of over 1400 girls by mainly some Pakistani muslims
Where a FGM , honour crimes and female suppression under sharia is deemed less interesting than a bad look in the street or someone throwing bacon at a mosque.
And where the sex pr sexuality of someone becomes the important factor rather than what the person is saying.
Shame on you BBC. Please listen to president trumps state of the Union address…the BBC chose to say in the first four sentences….that he will reopen Guantanamo bay, and that his ratings are languishing.
Followed shortly after by a whole section on the Democrat response with quotes of what the new man on the block Joe Kennedy (orgasms all round) will be saying.
It was a great speech and a great spectacle, and the Dems sat there looking like a bunch of slapped backsides.
President Trump is booed in Congress during his State of the Union speech as he outlines plans for a merit-based immigration system, saying the current system is "broken" https://t.co/HvAcjiLqXepic.twitter.com/DXJKZTArku
On Radio 4 at about 7:20am today they interviewed Barrack Obama’s former speech writer (ffs -who else would give an impartial view?).
Interviewer “So is Trump a much better President now than he was at his inauguration speech? His State of the Union speech was all about coming together to make America better?”
Barrack Obama’s Lefty Liberal Trump hating speech writer, “No he is probably worse than ever” (can’t remember the exact words but the tone was like that).
I remember not long ago the BBC used to interview two people representing the different sides of an argument and the give the left/liberal more air time to get their point across. These days they don’t even bother to interview anyone else, right of far left, to try and balance the view anymore.
I heard that and it was typical BBC – let’s find somebody who will hate his speech and give them loads of air time..he even misquoted the speech to fit his own somewhat warped prejudice…
BBC – how dare you highlight the plight of crustaceans, without addressing the plight of MAMMALS subject to inhumane slaughter in our nation?
As I say all too often, they are taking the piss. Obviously they have some vegan militants among their new overpaid staff/friends, so it’s flavour of the month. They make me sick.
A Democrat on Five Live was complaining about Trump cheating on his wife, being part of Me Too problem and generally throwing mud. It was so half-hearted, though. Clearly character assassination just does not work with Trump – we know what he is. It must suck for the Dems because this was an age old tactic which conveniently meant you did not have to come up with any actual policies yourself.
There is a brilliant South Park episode which parodies the 2004 presidential election. The boys have a choice between a turd sandwich and a giant douche bag for the school mascot. Kyle decides not to vote. “What is the point in choosing between a douche bag and a turd sandwich? Do not care.”
Throughout their attacks on and fear mongering, have they actually come up with any rival policies to help people? They are in real trouble now his policies are bearing fruit. Who cares if a leader is a bit offensive if he gets you a job and keeps you safe? I personally find all his ‘offensivess’ extremely funny, as is all the liberal elitist pretended to be so shocked and morally outraged when you know that when nobody else is listening they say and do all sorts of appalling things. I guess we all do to an extent, though not as bad as career politicians! Trump is honest and I admire him for that; he is a breath of fresh air.
R4 Today programme. American commentator analysing Presidents speech. Wonderful generalisation when she said President Trump is unpopular. With whom might I ask. When a clip was played of a supportive senator she ended that with the customary “hmmmm”.
Their worst nightmare is happening: a successful Trump presidency. It will expose all their open borders borders, alt left lunacy for the disaster it clearly is.
A new study has found femald jockeys are as good as men, and of course the BBC is all over this. Only 11.3% of jockey licences are held by women, whereas women make up about half of stable staff.
Horse racing is the only sport where ambulances follow the athletes round every day. Jumps racing is especially dangerous; Tony McCoy broke nearly every bone in his body. Do women really fancy that? I would much rather work in the stable than face the daily danger of getting trampled or falling from a height and breaking multiple bones. They never consider that any ‘gap’ might be explained by men and women wanting different things.
Also I am suspicious of this ‘study.’ There are some good female jockeys, but part of the skillset is about physical strength to push a horse home. Obviously men as a whole are stronger so will be overrepresented in occupations that require physical strength.
Once again the BBC looks for oppression where there is none; addicted to that buzz of feeling virtuous they are forced to look at minor ‘issues’ like this as there is not enough ‘oppression’ around to fit their narrative.
Over 90% of fatalities at work are men, which in part explains the ‘pay gap.’ Why should you not be paid more if you are willing to risk your life for a job, do the dirty, dangerous and gruelling work nobody else wants to do? And who on earth would work on oil rigs or fish for snow crab in the Bearing Sea if they were told their pay would be cut in half as feminists think it is unfair? They want to ‘smash down the patriarchy’ but what will you replace it with? You would be really f**cked if men stopped driving lorries to deliver your food and building everything.
I personally think we should have work equality for all: men; women and children, like there used to be in more enlightened times.
I’m sure women and the little ones must have loved working in factories; mines and up chimneys until the oppressive patriarchy decided they shouldn’t.
Why should it be only men who get all the fun of work?
Nina Carberry, Katie Walsh, Lizzie Kelly, Bryony Frost etc. all brought up in the racing world. Trust me if they didn’t work hard to get where they are the racing world including owners and trainers wouldn’t give them the time of day. This Beeb obsession with equal pay, equal numbers etc. is really starting to p”*! me off. Funny how they can pick a topic to suit the agenda when its apparent to most in racing circles the Beeb have become more anti racing as time goes on.
They are very good at ignoring 90% primary school teachers are female – have you ever tried getting a primary school job as a male…
More medics are female, more solicitors are female, more university staff are female, more nurses are female..and it goes on…
anything on this in equality on the BBC? Nada
Beeb Bro
Feminists. Oh boy. Do these silly girls ever stop to think that they owe their very existence to the intervention of a set of male gonads? Oh yes they would probably say, you raped my Mum. Mother Nature, we urgently need YOUR intervention! Now please.
Listening to LBC this morning, I’m struck that virtually every caller about President Trump’s speech is supportive, as are the messages read out. This from Nick Ferrari, who has never been slow to attack Trump.
I’m betting Today isn’t reflecting that attitude this morning.
Currently the tweets I am reading post-speech are either mocking the media for trying to spin a few boos and ignore cheers, mocking the Dems for graceless gurning on live TV or mocking Joe Kennedy for unfortunate salivatiry retention.
Guess Mock the Week will have to focus on Lord Ha… no, Diane Abb… no, Cathy New… no, Jeremy Cor… no… Guy Ver… no… Ah… Treezer! Phew.
It is asinine when they say we could be 3% or whatever worse off after Brexiw .
Not everything that counts can be counted and not everything that can be counted counts. Nothing could quantify that great feeling of patriotism and freedom I felt the morning of the result.
Plus for the vast majority just doing enough to get by, a ‘3 percent larger economy’ or whatever is meaningless.
Plus how can you possibly know what will happen? These ‘models’ of what could happen sound a lot like bullsh*t to me.
Suppose we stayed in the EU and imported another 10% to add to our population. The ‘country’ might be ‘better off’ by 10% but you and I would be competing for house, roads, schools, doctors etc. with these extra 10% so we would be worse off. Increased demand for the same resources, like houses, would put up prices making us even more worse off. But increased prices would feed into GDP so ‘we’ would all apparently be better off!
Personally I would be quite happy to see the UK’s GDP halve – and the popluation drop by 35 million. The politicians wouldn’t like that because they want to keep their place in the economic league table.
You have to admire her chutzpah: moaning about institutional racism when she studied at the best university in the world. The institutions could not have been any kinder to her!
Beeb Bro
I don’t consider myself racist but the pushy leftists are doing their damnedest to change my view. They keep piling on the stupidity and of course, they will eventually load the straw that breaks the donkey’s back.Speaking as an erstwhile ultra Lefty I’m probably not alone on this one. We’ve had enough.
Mr Corbyn please fuck some common sense into your troops.

To be fair to our Cathy, she does seem to know when she has got it wrong and can at times be most forthright in her apologies
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-31443076

Did Cathy Newman’s continued banging on about her prized example of the BBC’s vagina-brandishing presenters getting less quids than their penis-holding colleagues rather give the game away?
Could be… The Evening Standard yesterday: “Women must be ruthless to get voice….”

By now everyone will have realised Emily Thornberry was telling lies on the BBC when she said Labour won the election (Could still take a while for ‘some’, as the beeb would say).
So there’s someone more polished. An ambitious man with a lean and hungry look. Probably wants a second referendum. Relative to the population, the rates of prosecution for indictable offences for Black and *Mixed ethnic groups were four and two times higher than for the White ethnic group. For every 1,000 population members, 16 Black and 9 Mixed defendants were prosecuted compared to 4 White defendants.

The Today programme was on top form this morning.

Now all I have to do is get the idea to him…

GC, you can e-mail the White House. American democracy is open democracy. The details of addresses, telephone numbers even, are said to be available on-line.
While you are at it, a rather more restrained, measured & dignified apology on behalf of the British media, a la Lily Allen but without the tears, may also go down well.

Mild headscratcher that Steele was tasked as a delivery boy not that the state broadcaster will send a minion around to interview him.

I think that anything to do with ‘spook Steele’ and the FBI needs to be examined.

……..and our ‘favourite’ broadcaster has one or two questions to answer.

I agree, here is the tweet the bBC are airing regards POTUS
Boos.? I didn’t hear any in the clip the bBC airs, in fact listen to what he has to say. Makes a lot of sense, unless of course you work for the bBC

We must protest until men and women are killed in equal numbers at work. Could we call it a ‘Death March’ or does that sound a bit sinister?

Nada

Feminists.

“So what you are saying is…”
Currently the tweets I am reading post-speech are either mocking the media for trying to spin a few boos and ignore cheers, mocking the Dems for graceless gurning on live TV or mocking Joe Kennedy for unfortunate salivatiry retention.

Talking to my sister about racism: ‘People your age seem so much more aware’
When I went to Cambridge six years ago, I overlooked institutional racism. My sister, a current student at Southampton, takes a very different view. We sat down to talk about our different experiences of prejudice at university
FN: Yeah, and I don’t even have to pretend racism doesn’t exist like you did.
