High Summer . The bubble is away or writing columns about failed  air travel. But the BBC carries on showing its bias . Perhaps it gets a bit easier for us because the interns are in charge ….

    Toady watch

    Why bother ?

Prof Jordan Peterson has been interviewed by on Hardtalk.
The interview was the higher level beeboid – Sackur – who obviously seems himself as the new paxo .

The show apparently is on the world service but the prof linked it to Twitter .

Sackur had done his home work – he had studied the wonderful Cathy Newham interview and looked for his guests weakness. He didn’t find any . He tried to trap the prof into saying wimmin should not have got the vote – and went at him on his views on equality and wimmin – and failed.

Afterward I had a look at mr Sackur and say a reference back to here some 5 years ago when his anti Jewish behaviour was being discussed as he is married to a muzzie … the war against al beeb is a long one .

As I write this prof peter Hennessy by box ticking an interview with the god awful Warsi – over promoted because she is a paki/ stani woman who managed to avoid banging out little ‘mo s’ and somehow became a Tory , a minister and now the house of wasted air . Tick box Britain .

Hennessy sounded bored as he was obviously under orders to talk with the horror . Tick box Britain . Apparently a senior politician . I weep. .

Sackur is a reflex shallow snob, ignorant and clueless.
Seems to be worried about the Bible , Trump and blokes, with Jordan warning us of Leftish totalitarian historical trends.
THAT`S what Sackur and the BBC dread-cleverer people than themselves who know what they and their lefty goons are up to.
Sackur is mincing horsemeat in an Art Garfunkel wig.
Thanks for posting, we on Netflix rely on these posts to see what the BBC are up to-as if we don`t know.
Have forwarded this to my girls elsewhere. Jordan is brilliant as ever. Way too clever for the BBC virtue signallers-flashers as I call them.

Have the BBC or any of the UK media outlets apologised for the lies they spread for months (years?) about the stone cold certain guarantee of violence that would occur in Russia during the World Cup?
It’s just that I’ve never seen anything and it’s kind of like a topic that just, well, ended in a “we shall speak of this no more” type of way.

Woolwich, I note that you have encountered the age-related dementia and with it, the memory lapses and amnesia, that the BBC is now plainly suffering from. Welcome to another bit of the Bias by Omission that The Beeb throws out at us.

If you listened carefully to the TOADY Programme this morning, you would have heard the Millennium Bug scuttle into the studio and bite both The Humph and Margaret Beckett on the leg.

I am waiting with interest to see if there is another instance of Beeb amnesia before the end of this month.

He cant be very intelligent himself. He is certainty not known to be a Mensa member. The BBC needs to put out all its Global warming hot house stories today, because it looks unlikely we will have another day as hot as today, before Xmas.

Also the use of the term “denier” implies he has a low IQ, and therefore unable to define what is being denied. Global Warming is being denied because of the pause/hiatus/peak, but Climate always changes, so is not being denied. Also Summer is not being denied and the heatwave is not being denied, although it will be denied tomorrow.

As for denial of man-made Climate Change, this is because it has been proven to be a hoax by a scientific paper written by Gerhard Gerlich in 2009 called “Falsification Of The Atmospheric CO2 Greenhouse Effects Within The Frame Of Physics“. A Mensa member wrote “BBC Censorship” and complained to the morons at the BBC about this.

Seriously ? well, don’t members of the fire service moonlight ? they certainly did back in the 70’s, and food banks ?? really ? perhaps they meet up with the medical staff in the NHS who have to resort to free food as well.

During the report, no mention was made of the really excellent pensions that are forthcoming on retirement when reaching their mid 50’s. I know of one DCI (female) who retired on full pension when she just turned 50, and continues to work in a major department store !

      He ought to be flattered.
Robinson had his BBC “Reality Check” monkey to set up the interview, and kept him on standby , should he be needed later-like a fire extinguisher. Chris Morris by name, citing those he`d already rang around like the CBI, Big Pharma, and Tescos dahlia importing buyer.

And, case that was not enough?
They split Jenkins interview with a Labour MP who he was not told about.
AND we had the usual Robinson endless talkovers and niggling red herrings to drown out what Jenkin was attempting to say. What a range of opposing voices-and just for one relatively minor MP!
Reminded me of a polystyrene sarcophagus a la Chernobyl-Brexit seems now to require three opponents and a pre-post holdover to prevent the radiation.
Jenkin ought to be pleased. Would Peterson require three people to take him on as Jenkin did?
Got to be an index here.

I’ve looked up the starting basic salary for a newly qualified policeman.
In England and Wales it is between £19,971 and over £23,000. In Scotland it is quite a lot more.
I suspect different areas pay different rates.
Maybe there are extra living allowances for places like London.

The absolute minimum of £19,971 (about 4 times the pension regarded as enough for me to live on) is more than enough so when they say they need to use food banks (like nurses and firemen) I say they are telling lies.

Use of online pay-to-watch TV surges ahead
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-45096610

The use of commercial video streaming services has surged ahead in Great Britain, according to official figures.

Close to half of all adults said they had watched Netflix, Now TV, Amazon Prime Video or a similar internet-based service over the past three months.

That compares to less than a third of respondents in 2016, the last time the figure was given.

The article lists the percentage rise of on demand TV watching, up from 29% in 2016, but unfortunately it doesn’t report the decline of people watching BBC.

Even though the BBC will become a couple of un-watched expensive TV channels I bet there will be a big rise in the TV license soon “to help fund the BBC to compete in a changing market”.

Regarding Netflix & Amazon it depends on the kind of programs you like to watch. I have dipped in and out of Netflix a couple of times (you can stop and restart again) when I feel I’ve watched most of the drama series & documentaries that I wanted to. I’m currently subscribed to Amazon Prime, but also ‘borrow’ Now TV from a mate who has me as a guest subscriber.

There’s plenty to see which is far, far superior to the crap you will be served up by the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc. There is absolutely no need of a licence, unless someone in your household is deranged enough to want to see Eastenders, Love Island or Nadiya’s bloody cooking program.

It’s true that many of these American drama series on streaming are overhyped (and often have a left wing slant). Yes the villains are still usually white businessmen, but the blatant bias is so much more subtle than on the BBC. They are watchable because of superior writing, vision and direction.

Maybe the best thing is to visit the websites and see what they are currently showing. Note – what they show on UK Netflix is different to US Netflix.

Things I’ve watched and have rated highly since stopping the licence :

        Netflix –

        Breaking Bad
        The Crown
        Better Call Saul
        Fargo
Hannibal (a bit gory, be warned)
        The Expanse
        Narcos

        Amazon Prime –

Vikings (yes it is a poor man’s Game of Thrones, but fun)
        Mr Robot
        The Americans
        Goliath

        Now TV –

        Twin Peaks – The Return
        Westworld
        Babylon Berlin
        The Borgias
        Billions
        Atlanta

And that’s just those that IMO think are very good. There are also quite a few foreign series that are excellent. For documentaries Netflix edges it overall, but there are some great Sky Arts programs on Now TV. Amazon has a few decent war & history documentaries amongst all the cheap ‘alien mystery’ nonsense for people who never get off the settee!

Always hilarious to read the tin foil hat wearers who accuse the BBC of being right wing. If I could be bothered (which I’m not) I’d point out that having Nigel Farage on Question Time more than any other guest (& I’m not even sure that’s true) doesn’t make the BBC right wing. Having said that if your idea of balance is to only ever see and hear spokespeople for the left then you need to read a dictionary to learn the definition of balance. Either that or go to your safe space.

Anyway, the point I wanted to make. I’m sure it wasn’t asked and if it was I doubt people would be truthful but I’m sure there must be a decent sized chunk of people out there watching either live tv or more likely “Box Sets” and films online illegally, through providers that pretty much are illegal but operate in a legal grey area, or through outright downloaded piracy. The hassle involved in setting these devices up, or the fact that what the viewer is intending to watch is of a bingeable high quality, must surely impact directly on on the tradition viewing platforms.

Yes, Netflix is handy and there’s some stuff on there that I or my son find entertaining but I don’t find it as amazing as others do. However, a difference is that’s its entirely up to me whether or not I pay the £7.99 subscription per month and correct me if I’m wrong but I think it might even be availabile for £4.99 if you only want to use it on one device at a time and in standard definition. A quick bit of mental maths tells me that you could subscribe to Netflix and Amazon for not much more than the licence fee, it would be the individuals choice to do so so one couldn’t really grumble.
My viewing habits have changed in that I record what I want to watch so I don’t need to rush to the TV at a certain time and I’m spending less time wasting time channel hopping or simply vegetating in front of a TV as it provides background noise. As people get more selective and less inclined to let chewing gum for the eyes wash over them then that certainly won’t help the BBCs cause.
A side point is that these providers are businesses. They know who is watching what and when. If they see a sizeable chunk of the audience switching off 5 minutes through a particular type of series or film and identify the cause as the actors involved, the subject matter or the relentless virtue signalling then as a business they’ll look at capturing that audience by tailoring subject matter to them. Okay it’s a bit of a pipe dream, I’m relying on viewers exercising a degree of intelligence and it’s years off at best but you never know.

Go back 42 years to 1976 and, exactly at this time in the year, experts on the BBC were telling us of irreversible changes to northern European agriculture and that crop choice would have to reflect massive and permanent temperature alterations as a direct result.
Now you may find this difficult to believe, what with all the expert advice forecasting ‘hothouse earth’ but 41 years ago, in 1977, the harvest rotted in the fields during one of the coldest, wettest summers on record. Sadly, they don’t appear to have kept that record. Can’t think why.

    • Payne by name says:

Exactly. As Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, once said warmer weather is better for the planet (or rather the people on it) than cold weather.

We can adapt to warmer weather and the bonus is that areas of Canada and Russia become more farmable which is good for feeding our expanding billions. Colder weather just shrinks the amount of land available for crop growth.

And as Dinesh S’ouza said, if you walk into a crowded room and it’s a little hot, just take off your jacket or unbutton your shirt rather than opting to arbitrarily change the temperature of the entire room.

It’s easier for an individual or individuals to adapt rather than changing a much larger thing. Hence it’s easier for humans to adapt (that’s what makes us the most dominant species on the planet) than it is to attempt to change the entire planet. King Canute comes to mind.

First out of the blocks was that fat faced fraud, David Lammy, working himself into a lather. That man really needs to chill out. He’s the MP for Tottenham, FFS, a ghettoised shithole in north London with some of the worst gang related murder stats in Britain. Shouldn’t he really try fixing those problems before he blathers off attacking others?
Next in line was the arch feminist, Jess Phillips. You know, this really should astonish me, but it doesn’t. Why is it “feminists” always spring to the defence of a backward, medieval, barbaric, misogynistic cult, that oppresses women, performs the horror of FGM on them and dresses them in black death shrouds.? Have I missed something?
Jess has said she’s going to report Boris to the Equalites Council. Yes, that’s it Jess, pose and pout for the cameras, pretend to be outraged, you’re fooling no-one.
Then we had one of the Beeb’s favourites (can’t think why;)) the irritating “Baroness Warsi”. This is the unelected Muzzie brought in by our last feeble PM to assuage the Guardianistas. I noted this one too Jeff.
The story was in yesterday mornings Telegraph. so the BBC have clearly been lining up the ducks on the wall for classic attempted hit piece like the Phanton Flanger on TISWAS.
A Citizen Khan wannabe in a “key constituency” an the end of the Northern Line was sough and found. He`s been a Tory , but he`s not happy.
Neither is Warsi(well, who`d have guessed)…not the Tory Chairman whover he is this month.
Mark Mardell was good enough to tell we plebs about something called “mandatory equalities training”-this North Korean or Chinese then Beeb?…and who came up with THAT?
There is no Arabic word for Islamophobe -only the Jew baiting Durban Conference, the Runnymewde Trust and the UN Muslim Nations gang came up with it…and so the BBC have it in their stupid mouths like a hook they`ll never get off now.
This was and is not news.
      AND-Boris doesn`t want the burqa banned-whereas I do!
That`ll teach him then to suck up to Islam, you never can.
Ah well, a few minutes of Mardell and I crave the bedpans now.

We bank robbers have never flown planes into sky-scrapers, planted bombs on the underground, thrown gays off buildings, hacked the throats of soldiers, beheaded journalists, driven vans into pedestrians, bombed pop concerts, or raped industrial numbers of children up and down the land.

I demand he withdraw his insensitive comments immediately or I shall have to report him to British Council of Bank Robbers.

The money will be used to provide food and shelter for people arriving through the so-called Western Mediterranean route. With this transfer, the EU has provided Spain with €692 million ($800 million) since 2014 to help manage migration flows.”
The EU with its further continuing contempt for the public:

This contempt for the European taxpayer from ALL the elite in Europe is indicative to the implication that, ‘we know we eventually will be voted out but that takes time during the electoral cycles and meanwhile we will do everything in our power to cram more invaders into the EU’. Best part is they know they can use the taxpayers money to achieve their wicked aims – with undemocratic unacountability. Untouchables.

They tell us that the war gave the vote to 8 million women, ignoring the 5 million men who also gained the vote for the first time. The women did quite well, losing just one woman to a race horse, against the 700,000 men that didn’t live to get their vote.

Post-event equality is a wonderful thing – handing out those white feathers must have been quite tough.

      His namesake however, less so.

Entertaining he may be in a car crash kind of way, but the BBC pretty much created Mr. Jones and still indulges him occasionally. So one hopes the ratings or the one degree of separation agenda dodges are worth it.

But whether the silly boy self destructs or inspires others to deal with troublesome priests, it is largely again due to the national broadcaster of the UK.

I am constantly amazed at how the BBC can produce a negative story about the UK from quite good information and ignore the variance in statistics to support the story. Top story headline on BBC website
“UK among worst for life expectancy rises”
Then read the detail – we are talking about differences in weeks..no standard deviations – it’s a slow down in increase – don’t they think maybe we are all starting to reach the ‘normal’ life expectancy so of course the increase in expectancy will slow..and be afftected by other factors more easily
They are also doing another wage gap analysis – ignoring other factors? They manage to get a Professor to say something about Austerity..surprised climate change isn’t there.
If you read the ONS report they actually explain things like why there is a difference – especially in Japan ( which BBC ignore completely as it would dent their story).. but we are still talking the difference between 4 weeks and 16 weeks increase..WTF
