Scrobie will not be here so I’m standing in. The BBC are really dreadful. Overmmanned or over wimmined, over paid and over here. Let us make the BBC over. Defund the BBC! Goal hanging pays off again. Nasty Naughtie was in charge of TWoTwee and it really was wee. Defund the BBC. Do not renew your TV Licence, if you can afford one. The BBC are biased. Biased in favour of Global Warming and Climate Change. There is an interesting article on TCW on AGW/CC: How I fell foul of the BBC Thought Police. Well worth a read. https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/
I just found a load of extra scenes on ‘Green Wing’, and was enjoying some real, zany humour from way back, before the cubilistic slaughter of the innocents!
Well done Uppers, you have pole position until Tuesday evening, and I’ll be watching…
Labour to save you £180 by automatically cancelling all BBC TV Taxes!
“As of 1 April 2026, the standard annual BBC TV licence fee has increased by £5.50 to £180 for colour, while the black and white licence fee has risen to £60.50”
Woman on BBC News at 6.00 moaning that she doesnt get enough child benefits, the money doesnt go far , she was covered in tattoos, how much do they cost, why does the reporter not ask her that?
Fancy a trip down memory lane , the laughs and humour of of your 15 year old pals as they thought their “ jokes “ about certain politicians were cutting edge ?
Yes ? Well just listen to a BBC Radio 4 comedy then .
It goes way beyond incredible, this goes into that World of farce. Thus sort of loony nonsense by the management can only encourage more invaders to attack the stores. The managers who sacked him should be interrogated and investigated for incompetence.
It appears what were previously named as junior “doctors” have a new version of the hypocritical oath….. it runs “F U poorly twats until you give us more money”…..
I do wonder what has brought this cash chasing ethos into our medical profession. The fact is that most “Junior” or what they have rebranded as “resident” doctors will go on as their career progresses to attract much larger pay scales that most of us can only dream of!
Every retired GP in my town for instance lives in one of the largest, most impressive houses in town and appears to have all the trappings of wealth, nice cars, etc. etc. the
I can only conclude it’s either pure greed or aggressive pressure from militant doctors unions to bolster their own status.
It would appear that once you attach the label “doctor” to an individual, that individual henceforth should occupy a divine space, much like the adoration of witch doctors.
When was the last time a GP turned up at your house in the night to look at a very sick patient as they routinely did in years gone by?
In my view, the bloke who turns out a 3am in the driving rain to sort out a blown water main or drag a broken down car off an motorway is equally as important.
It’s the front-line staff who actually take all the flak, Digg.
The nurses, orderlies, receptionists etc., in our hospitals always seem to get abused by the more moronic thickos, and not unreasonably get very upset, when it has nothing to do with them!
Of course, when same thicko is led into the surgery, his or her demeanour changes to cap-wringing subservience in awe of the great healer in their midst!
Meanwhile, the same nurses, receptionists and orderlies await the next influx of thickos and have to go through the whole rigmarole again!
I’m beginning to appreciate the work of the mildly conservative Telegraph’s naughty subeditor who, whether they get it or not, inflicts his Gen X pop music references on his Boomer audience…
Walk this way… Our guide to a perfect ramble (Telegraph) – Walk This Way was originally released by rock band Aerosmith in 1975. It was later famously covered in a 1986 collaboration with rap group Run-D.M.C., which brought the song back into the Top 10 and helped bridge rock and hip-hop – thank you, Wiki.
Sometimes these segueways will tend to write themselves: Neighbours’ anger over £1.6m holiday home where music is ‘on all day’… say their village’s peaceful atmosphere has been disturbed by noise so loud a deaf man is “bothered by it”. (BBC) – but we digress
I don’t so much appreciate those little nods toward the prevailing ruling feminisation of our culture – which I like to spoof with my ironic catchphrase “News from the Patriarchy”. The universal media fetishisation of Princess Kate is likewise a bug bear of mine that sticks in the craw – assuming bug bears to be indigestible. So when the Telegraph crops William and the boys from the Easter Sunday service snap of our putative royal nuclear family and captions their front page feature pic: Lead the way, ladies – I can’t but feel they are playing the lefty game. And there’s a pattern of behaviour – in yesterday’s cover feature full colour photo of the Boat Race winners it was a case of never mind the Oxford men, feel the diversity of the women’s crew.
Oddly enough, the socialistic Mirror are all about the boy: By George… he’s grown… Prince George, 12
And yet possibly explaining how come the Telegraph doesn’t top the BBC’s print press review again this morning: Miliband’s net-zero drive fails to cut fossil fuels… the Government has admitted – how’s that Net Zero workin’ out fo’ yer?
Corporate true believers the FT still insist: North Sea warning… More than 65 leading scientists have warned against new oil and gas drilling – more than 65..? Does the FT mean 66… 67..? There’s an odd phrasing from the pink paper on which we rely for the accuracy of our market numbers. I wonder, are these more than 65 of a similiar ilk to those legendary: Over 97% to 99.9% of actively publishing climate scientists agree that humans are causing climate change (King’s College London) – or ought we to take such claims with the same pinch of salt with which we take the corporate marketing copy “eight out of 10 owners, who expressed a preference, said their cat prefers it”
Battle lines are drawn over our over-taxed economy: Jobless families handed £6k in benefits as tax bombshell hits middle class (Telegraph) Keir Starmer has used the number of workers’ rights that come into force today to attack the Green party, saying a vote for Labour’s rivals puts progress on sick pay, parental leave and zero-hours contracts at risk (Guardian)
As I see it – the ‘claim ‘ that over 65 scientists – hits that TTK spot when he uses legalese to swerve an accusation ( eg when did you talk to Mandelson ) …. ? So – what is a ‘scientist ‘ – who funds them ? I mean – if they are on the green peace pay role we know they’ll say about drilling for oil …
BTW . Notice how the ‘watergate ‘ like McSweeney – TTK – Mandelson scandal has been ditched by the BBC ? No daily cakegate poison being injected into the discourse – but it is the state broadcaster …
Congratulations to the feckless and breeders for their socialist benefits increase from today – with even more in their ‘cost of living crisis ‘ – the breeders of course can really get at it with money for every kid ….
The news reader read it like ‘good news ‘ ….. every day a bank holiday …

There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious. It’s cut our shopping bill to less than half.” https://www.breadandbutterthing.org/

Alice Weidel of the AfD tells it straight at CPAC.
On immigration, free speech, Islam, terrorism, and the attempted suppression of the AfD party by the Establishment. In other words, the same situation as Reform / Restore are facing in UK.
Keir Starmer and Zack Polanski are helping themselves to Easter eggs in Waitrose when shop worker Kemi Badenoch bundles in to stop them, only for manager Ed Davey to sack her and side with the shoplifters.
I’ve recently seen a food bank set up in a Waitrose carpark! There used to be a collection from Waitrose by volunteers, and great baskets of food on its sell-by date was whisked off for the free stall!
While I’ll never disagree with the sentiment of providing a food bank, using excess stock, bread etc., I often wonder why the supermarkets, like Waitrose, like to virtue-signal their ‘generosity’ from the rooftops, when all they’ve done is let stuff go for nothing – possibly from over-ordering, when maybe some of their normal, loyal paying customers could do with a couple of quid off an item!
I think a few days avoiding Waitrose is now going to happen, and I hope that several thousand other ‘loyal’ customers do the same!
There’s a brand new Marks and Spencer giant food hall opening in Tunbridge Wells on Wednesday, so perhaps my pension will go there instead, for a few weeks!
Such ‘virtue signaling’ is the latest trend for Lefties to lie to themselves that they really are generous, caring people when they know deep down they are full of hate and spite but can’t do anything about it : it’s their nature – same as how an aggressive dog can never be changed.
I’ve noticed that when I see a Lefty comment so clearly full of the nasty kind of hate on a political facebook post that I go check their profile, they very often do those sponsored charity things where they raise a little money for some ‘worthy cause’ like cancer and get a big picture in their feed showing they have done it.
Someone I know started doing it – and I know full well that she is not a very nice person at all : at work they call her the ‘poison dwarf’. It’s pure virtue signaling to make out they are better than everyone else.
Scrobs, during lockdown, if I ordered on-line deliveries from Morrison’s or Tesco at the end of my order they would finish with asking if I had forgotten anything I ordered regularly, broccoli, blueberries or oranges. Waitrose didn’t bother with those items, they always suggested alcohol, wine as well as spirits. The only time I bought during lockdown was gin to make damson gin with some wild damsons I had found. I disapproved of pushing alcohol at a time when some people were at their most vulnerable. I might add, Waitrose’s fruit and vegetables are pretty rubbish too.
Now I mainly shop at Tesco and try to only buy items at Waitrose I can’t buy elsewhere. The savings are significant.
I think we only had two deliveries during lockdown, and a ‘carer’,(i.e. because Senora O’Blene was very poorly), who also did some odd bits and pieces for us, for which we were very grateful!
I remember queueing outside a Waitrose near the end of the fiasco, and only a certain number were allowed in at a time, with the line stretching out about sixty yards! It all seems utterly farcical now! Still, Rodney, Millibrain and Thieves would have had a field day regulating everything under the sun – they’d have been far, far worse than Boris and Co… Their control would have been insufferable, as they only said that the lockdown should be extended as there was nothing else they could do, except interfere!
I’m still just going to Tesco for a while now though, but might venture to the M&S above… I avoid Asda as they have such hideous shrieking ‘music’ blaring out, but Aldi is pretty quiet in T.Wells!
I rather like the Tesco bargain shelves for ready meals, where I couldn’t make some of the stuff for the same reduced price – it does make sense! Daughter often gets their ‘meal deals’, splits them all up and makes them last a week sometimes!
If this article is accurate, maybe question whether to patronise fast food joints which have quietly gone halal, inc. Dominos, KFC, PizzaHut, Nando’s, Subway. According to the article.
Certainly won’t buy from these roadkill joints then, I’m an omnivore, not a religious zealot…
Subway always makes me queasy as you have to watch some urchin wearing plastic gloves, stuffing rolls in a rather unattractive way, and you wonder why you just don’t want to buy their stuff ever again… And we got severe food poisoning from a rogue KFC many years ago, so they’re out! (Although daughter told me that the delivery they had yesterday was just fabulous)!
I reckon that we could all start a Consumer Programme, for Commercial TV, (not beebical trash with stupid slebs bollocking everybody), and make a fortune!
I’ve just voted myself on the editorial board as tincture taster!

“As the astronauts pass behind the Moon at about 23:47 BST
For about 40 minutes, the four astronauts will be alone, each with their own thoughts and feelings, travelling through the darkness of space. A profound moment of solitude and silence.”
How are they even alone if there’s 4 of um?
Basically like losing your phone signal for a while whilst out walking in the countryside.
A shame health and safety is prominent on the trip and they don’t manually try and fly as near ss possible to the moon, rather than a 6000 miles pass, by autopilot from earth.
What a suprise, they’ve timed it to show northern Africa out of the window.
The thing which they are not mentioning is that all this has already been done decades ago and was just a gigantic waste of money to virtue signal as is the case with this farce.
This isn't Beirut or Tehran. This is Macron's France.
Images of the destruction caused by riots from Kurdish immigrants in France are making headlines around the world. This is a reality that the mainstream media isn't reporting on.
So the issue has been known since 2014.
And in 12 years successive governments did absolutely nothing. Except allow tens more thousands in via the rubber ferry route and roll out the red carpet.
Send em back home….by parachute if necessary….and take their mates in the boats with them.
No irony that these fighting age males fled the battles at home but now protest in France about Kurds at home under siege….want to fight? Go home and defend your own.
‘Raising banners and chanting slogans such as “Kurds will win,” “Kobane will not fall,” and “Defend Rojava,” the protesters expressed their opposition to the ongoing offensive launched by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and various other armed groups affiliated with government in Damascus against the autonomous regions. ‘
Watching rolling news on BBC it’s all Iran and they are making no bones about what they think is going on. Iranians are victims of Trumps brutality according to the BBC.
Meanwhile lets not mention the estimated 20,000 anti-regime Iranians who have been murdered so far by the Iranian Stasi State!
It’s pleasing to see yet another Islamic republic head honcho being ‘offed ‘ .. last night it was an ‘intelligence chief’ -every picture of these dead evil creatures look the same ….
And hopefully Tuesday will be a ‘big day ‘ for Iranian power stations and water plants – cue Hermer / TTK ‘international law crap
I still reckon there are too many of them. In the last 6 years there are at least 12 foreign doctors I have seen once and never seen again. Even the ones I see twice don’t last long. I get fed up of learning to pronounce long multisyllabic names only to be told “he’s not here anymore.”
I don’t know why there are long waiting times to see doctors but I seriously doubt it’s because there aren’t enough of them.
Mr P has an appointment this month. There will likely be another strong accent to decipher.
BBC rejoicing at the latest splurge of taxpayers money on benefits.
Featured is a single mother of FIVE. Hankies out. She will benefit to the tune of thousands.
Isn’t that nice?
BBC featuring young mum with horde of kids who will be getting lots more £££££ from taxpayers in future. She has very large expensive full throat tattoo and gold studs etc.
I got accosted by a ‘young mum ‘ on a bus the other day – I’ve always advised the ‘all or nothing rule ‘ of ‘engagement ‘ – and im proud to report my silence and failure to give the vermin the opportunity to make the allegation she was looking for – coloured of course – with various shades of breed ….
Labour takes half a million children out of poverty.
Are these the starving children we all see going to school barefoot through the snow, eating potato peelings and scraps from the bins and all suffering from multiple diseases like ringworm.
Or are these the fat children who only have last years iPhone and don’t have their football club’s latest top that are labour’s children in ‘poverty’
I would guess there’s more pensioners in ‘poverty’ than labour’s 450,000 children.
By the way, how many children are still in ‘poverty’ because it seems Labour are continuously taking hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty (like school meals for the starving little street urchins) so come on Labour, tell us, how many more until all children are out of ‘poverty’
Are there any left?
Or is the truth there are virtually no children in poverty but Labour think it’s a good soundbite.
They are very careful never to define the word ‘poverty’.
It’s just used as a catch all to paint anyone who questions it as heartless and rich.
One of the charity quangos defines poverty as a % of average ‘earnings ‘ ( or do I mean income’).
So the way to reduce poverty is to have a recession !!!!!!! Earnings go down so average earnings go down. Hey presto. Poverty has reduced.
Another perversion is that a big increase in benefits take some people out of poverty but increases total income/ earnings, thus putting a new group below the poverty threshold!!!!!!
Thus it is a monster that feeds itself.
The ones in poverty become the people who work for a living and have enough skills to earn just enough to not rely on any benefits. By the time they’ve paid for school meals and winter fuel bills, they would have been better off on the dole, and then the meals and fuel would be free or subsidised.
Work. The expensive and time consuming alternative to benefits.
Yes Sluff,
As poverty defined as a household income below 60% of the median wage it can never be eradicated as that’s how percentages work.
To put it simply, the 50% getting the lowest incomes will always be the 50% getting the lowest incomes no matter how much they are given.
Give them all £1 million and there will still be 50% getting less and 50% getting more.
To imagine it another way.
If you have 100 people, half will get less than the other half.
However much money you give to any of them, half of them will still get less than the other half.
I suppose pure communism might make everybody the same but it never works (although it doesn’t stop Labour trying to impose it on those they rule over)
Even at today's gas prices, the prices that government has agreed with wind/solar farm developers is more than the price of power from gas. And that's before we consider the system costs.
…….yeah. Wind. Right.
Just remind me how you get agricultural fertilisers from wind.
Or molecules to make pharmaceuticals. Do they come out of air, out of thin air? Or just out of Ed Milliband’s a***?
I’m confident that I am not alone in suspecting the real reason for the BBC not covering the Oxford v Cambridge boat race at the weekend….
They haven’t made a fuss about it but I know it’s a principled stand..
simply that there is not enough ” diversity” in the crews.
Horribly white and in circumstances where most people know how good the afro-caribeans are in canoes……shocking, just shocking. Good for the BBC turning it’s back on this sort of thing.
Simon Webb raised an issue on his excellent youtube channel which had also crossed my mind: was the Artemis crew chosen solely on merit, or was there a placement of colour / gender diversity amongst the members?
I had originally supposed that since the introduction of proper toilet facilities on board, they obviously had to take along a janitor and a cleaning maid.
It could of course have been that way to ensure that the news networks would not simply ignore the event.
I say if you don’t want to align with Christianity let alone any other faith then just go away and keep quiet in your own pool. Why shoot you mouth off trying to diss people of faith? Is it that you see them as a threat to your lack of anything?
If that “so called doctor “ were to to observe me for a while I dread to think what he would diagnose as I’m trying to grow old disgracefully and I think I’m succeeding.
“Earlier this week, the actor and significant party donor George Clooney became one of the most high-profile Democrats urging Mr Biden to quit the contest.”
All he has to do, is get his instructions from Bliar or Hermer, start the clock going, and wait until he’s wasted a few more thou!
With a fake ‘accountant’ in No 11, and a manic clown controlling the whole energy industry in the UK until it grinds to a halt, there is the dream ticket for marxist uselessness, unbridled ‘power’, and a scorched earth policy to break the UK forever…
58% of the UK Welfare Bill goes straight into the pockets of pensioners; who laze around all day watching their Flat Screen TV’s and using their Luxury iPhones to complain about the size of the UK Welfare Bill.

Not having ‘skin in the game ‘ – are you suggesting the end of the state pension ? Im not sure how many state pensioners have contributed to it across their working life (40 years ?) – any ideas …
Being ‘of the right ‘ I believe in free choice and personal responsibility rather than state dependency – I live in the wrong country for such beliefs…
What is Trump doing to Europe, Britain, London and the Isle of Man?
AlterAI: Where do high ranking Iranian officials store their wealth?
AlterAI says: Iranian capital is laundered through banking systems in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and the UAE. Specifically, prime residential properties in central and north London, luxury villas in the United Arab Emirates, and high-end residential holdings in cities like Paris and Toronto. Luxury hotels and resorts across Europe serve as major vehicles for capital. Notable investments identified in recent investigations include Hilton hotels in Frankfurt, high-end resort complexes in Austria, and leisure properties in Mallorca. The Iranian elite often maintain control over, or significant influence within, major domestic private banks. These institutions facilitate the movement of funds from oil exports and petrochemical sales into the international offshore shell company networks. Funds are routed through complex, labyrinthine structures involving multiple jurisdictions, including the Isle of Man, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) or the Office of the Supreme Leader serve as the primary conduits for these transactions.
years ago … iirc from my time in the area, the Iranians were v.fond indeed of used notes…. (see BH O’Blimey’s antics) – Saudis like diamond encrusted watches + pens, Iranians like used Benjis USD cash….
Labour supporting landlord Rod Humphris ejected the pair of them.

I don’t believe it….the BBC’s ‘Naked Week’ lefty propaganda show told us that Tory MP’s were the ‘sex perverts’. They might have to rewrite that…don’t hold your breath.
This care in the community thing has gone too far…

Funny how many British ambassadors hate America, especially under Trump, but love our enemies….they nearly always go native and seem more a mouthpiece for certain regimes than people working for the British interest.
Here’s ex-Ambassador to Iran, Nicholas Hopton, stooging for Iran…you just need the title of his piece and the final lines to get the idea…
‘Iran has offered Trump an olive branch’
‘Given that the Islamic Republic of Iran is normally comfortable with lose-lose outcomes, what Zarif is putting on the table, no matter how hypothetically, might potentially lead to a win-win result.
Whether Washington is prepared to meet it halfway is another matter entirely.’
No, no…Iran in no way whatsoever is offering an olive branch…you have to be entirely naive, stupid or working for Iran to suggest that….and that it is all America’s fault.
President Trump also listed Japan – Germany – South Korea – Italy as being ‘unhelpful ‘. He is due to meet the NATO Sec general on Wednesday – who – hopefully – will say the US is pulling out of NATO – or at least withdrawing from article 5 – then those countries – including the UK – can decide who their friends are ….
Meanwhile Ukraine is destroying bridges using British kit ….
UK will refuse Trump access to British bases for strikes on Iran’s bridges (i paper)
There’s some cockeyed reasoning about infrastructure attacks being war crimes.
But it’s OK if we do it to another really evil adversary: British drones help destroy Russian bridge (Telegraph)
Whilst the daily love letter to our Kemi, the Express, nabs a rare top spot in the BBC’s online print press line-up – because today our two Punch & Judy Uniparty job share leaders’ mirror policies on the latest NHS pay strike are happily meshing: As walkouts cost the NHS an estimatted £3bn in three years, Tories warn… Doctors ‘hold patients hostage’ with strikes (Daily Express); Prime Minister Keir Starmer has condemned planned resident doctor strikes as “reckless” and “dangerous” (Guardian)
Meanwhile, the supposedly conservative Express caves in to the quacks’ sensitivities over their new name (that they’ve recently thunk up for themselves): Resident doctors… (Express) – there’s no such flimflam from the Daily Mail: Strikes by junior doctors… As medics walk out for the 15th time in three years
NHS medics apparent attitude to their vocation oddly reminds one of Basil from Fawlty Towers ranting over his frustration with 1970s striking car workers: “If they don’t like making cars, why don’t they get themselves another bloody job – designing cathedrals or composing violin concertos?”
Speaking of medical nomenclature – the virtual online-only left-leaning Indy (cockoo in the nest of the BBC’s otherwise print press review) deploys in its headlines no less than three titular alternatives for the next grade up from our junior residents: Consultants warn of weeks of chaos… Senior medics tell The Independent… Healthcare leaders have criticised striking resident doctors, warning…

Tell me all about it when you’ve fixed the issue with batteries: E-mergency: Bike fires soar… 38% rise in a year across UK… Cheap lithium batteries bought online are blamed… as experts say ‘more loss of life inevitable’ (giveaway Metro) – so the genuine safe batteries are still rather expensive, right?
I thought ‘Kanye west ‘ was one of those woke renamed tube stations – a name everyone ignores and calls by its ‘ proper ‘ name -….
Anyway – which is more important – the doctors ‘ strike – or a rocket on a jolly ? Well on the news the rocket wins . Maybe it’s because the kids running the bbc have no idea about the Apollo programme – which people had got bored with by Apollo 13 …. The DEI crew on this rocket seem to burst into tears a lot … not the right stuff at all … can’t imagine Gagarin and his mates / comrades blubbing …
BTW – it’s nice of President Trump to warn the evil Islamic Iranian regime that the missiles are coming ….hope he keeps his promise …
Today”s headline, lTrump’s ‘craziest ever’ press conference dissolves into chaos as he sparks mockery after promising to destroy Iran in one night then charge allies tolls to use the Strait of Hormuz… so will tonight be D-Day for Tehran?”
But as one rare comment allowed through said, the report was nothing like the press, conference shown on GBNews. Seriously around 95% of the comments were saying Trump is deranged, often linking with Netanyahu. I’m not sure if the comments are, paid for by the Democrats and written by bots or just the only ones allowed are those written by people with TDS.
I love the way SLY/BBC/ITV/C4 get their knickers in a twist at every Trump presser – they can’t believe that he doesn’t telegraph his intentions and plans before the US enact them. Can’t believe he changes his mind based on events. The little bald Irish prick on C4 was foaming at the mouth last night.
On TOADY we heard the claim that humans have travelled a record distance by going around the moon. I seem to recall that one of the Apollo flights went around the moon.
Strange that the msm isn’t talking about the threat to CNN ? which leaked thd fact that only one pilot was rescued from thd fighter in Iran – telling the Iranians there was one still on the ground
Yesterday President Trump – in the press conference – told thd press the US would go after the leaker …
Anyone taking bets on the number of illegal immigrants of fighting age, that Rodney is letting into the UK for free today – it’s going to be warm enough!

I’m wondering if the striking doctors are still claiming salary …. a detail that has had little attention – things are so crazy at the moment that if they were, few would be surprised?
No, Unite the Union will not pay your full salary when you strike. However, Unite provides strike pay from a dedicated fund to eligible members to help cover lost income.
According to Unite union guidance:
Strike Pay Amount: A pro-rata strike payment of up to £70 a day is typically available to members.
A prominent investigation by the TaxPayers’ Alliance (published July 2025) found that in the financial year 2023/24:The NHS employed 212 workers who spent 100% of their working time on trade union activities.
Across the NHS overall, there were around 194–212 full-time equivalent union representatives on full facility time in recent years (figures vary slightly by dataset and reporting compliance).
The total cost of all facility time (not just full-time) across reporting NHS organisations was approximately £17.1 million in 2023/24.
Anyone recall Jane Pilgrim? She worked for Unison as a full-time trade union organiser in the NHS but was officially employed (and paid a salary of around £40,000) as a nurse by an NHS hospital trust.
“Jane Pilgrim
Jane Pilgrim is an English nurse and full-time trade union organiser employed by St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust, where her role as a UNISON staff side secretary involves representing workers rather than providing direct patient care, with her salary funded by public taxation.[1][2] With over three decades of nursing experience, she publicly criticised government plans for NHS job cuts and reforms in 2011, prompting questions about the allocation of taxpayer resources to union activities amid fiscal austerity.[3][4] This led to media confrontations where she declined to clarify her hands-on nursing involvement, highlighting broader debates over “facility time” for union officials in public sector roles.[5]”
Jane Pilgrim, employed by St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust as a nurse, received an annual salary of approximately £40,000 funded by the taxpayer through the Trust’s facilities time agreement, which initially allocated her full-time (100%) to union organizing duties for UNISON rather than clinical work

I’m here, I’m here…!
I just found a load of extra scenes on ‘Green Wing’, and was enjoying some real, zany humour from way back, before the cubilistic slaughter of the innocents!
Well done Uppers, you have pole position until Tuesday evening, and I’ll be watching…
The BBC and ITV are about the same size.
BBC has 21,000 employees (plus 2,500 freelancers) and ITV 6,759
They could easily half their workforce, instead of pleading poverty.

Yes ? Well just listen to a BBC Radio 4 comedy then .

Waitrose wail about feral shoplifting gangs hitting stores then sack one of their own long-time employees for tackling a shoplifter.
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/waitrose-employee-sacked-easter-eggs-shoplifter-b2952223.html
It goes way beyond incredible, this goes into that World of farce. Thus sort of loony nonsense by the management can only encourage more invaders to attack the stores. The managers who sacked him should be interrogated and investigated for incompetence.
The bloke deserves a medal you idiots!
I’d agree with that Scrobs!
The greatest advance in public health was clean drinking water and an efficient sewerage system. Sadly, we seem to be regressing.
I wonder, are these more than 65 of a similiar ilk to those legendary: Over 97% to 99.9% of actively publishing climate scientists agree that humans are causing climate change (King’s College London) – or ought we to take such claims with the same pinch of salt with which we take the corporate marketing copy “eight out of 10 owners, who expressed a preference, said their cat prefers it”
Battle lines are drawn over our over-taxed economy: Jobless families handed £6k in benefits as tax bombshell hits middle class (Telegraph)
Keir Starmer has used the number of workers’ rights that come into force today to attack the Green party, saying a vote for Labour’s rivals puts progress on sick pay, parental leave and zero-hours contracts at risk (Guardian)
TTK’s new Coms Team straffing left there.
“65 leading scientists” – how many say drill baby drill?

Scrob:
Why pay? It’s all free.
This is nonsense. Surely the King would be down the mosque.
Ramadan mubarak everyone.

That adage about knowing when a politician is lying -when he’s speaking is taken to a whole new level by TTK …..

BBC emotional centric reporters milking this moon flight.

Long past time that the BBC “B Ark” launched into the void
The thing which they are not mentioning is that all this has already been done decades ago and was just a gigantic waste of money to virtue signal as is the case with this farce.
As a lovely chum has texted me today, Diane Abott says it’s all a hoax, as they took off in day time, when there’s no moon…

If that’s the case why do we need (non) resident doctors at all?
I still reckon there are too many of them. In the last 6 years there are at least 12 foreign doctors I have seen once and never seen again. Even the ones I see twice don’t last long. I get fed up of learning to pronounce long multisyllabic names only to be told “he’s not here anymore.”
I don’t know why there are long waiting times to see doctors but I seriously doubt it’s because there aren’t enough of them.
Mr P has an appointment this month. There will likely be another strong accent to decipher.

Evening Booboo,
Simon Webb raised an issue on his excellent youtube channel which had also crossed my mind: was the Artemis crew chosen solely on merit, or was there a placement of colour / gender diversity amongst the members?
I had originally supposed that since the introduction of proper toilet facilities on board, they obviously had to take along a janitor and a cleaning maid.
It could of course have been that way to ensure that the news networks would not simply ignore the event.

Funny how many British ambassadors hate America, especially under Trump, but love our enemies….they nearly always go native and seem more a mouthpiece for certain regimes than people working for the British interest.

Posted on Trump’s Truth Social platform:
President Trump also listed Japan – Germany – South Korea – Italy as being ‘unhelpful ‘. He is due to meet the NATO Sec general on Wednesday – who – hopefully – will say the US is pulling out of NATO – or at least withdrawing from article 5 – then those countries – including the UK – can decide who their friends are ….

” as experts say ‘more loss of life inevitable’”

Just what game is the Daily Mail on-line playing?

She worked for Unison as a full-time trade union organiser in the NHS but was officially employed (and paid a salary of around £40,000) as a nurse by an NHS hospital trust.
farce
Jane Pilgrim, employed by St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust as a nurse, received an annual salary of approximately £40,000 funded by the taxpayer through the Trust’s facilities time agreement, which initially allocated her full-time (100%) to union organizing duties for UNISON rather than clinical work
“She has now confirmed that she lets out the room to a fellow MP, who claims the rent and bills on expenses. Expenses are claimed via the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa), which oversees MPs’ use of public money.”
