Weekend Open Thread 15 September 2018

So predictably the BBC aids and abets the rabid Project Fear to stop Brexit. It is not hard to see the constant bias and we can be comforted that the Great British public see it too.

    From our own correspondent

President Trump gets the instant blame for some Syrian refugee radio station having its funding taken . Let’s bet the fools here will either use Far Left BBC taxpayers licence money or waste more over the £13 000 000 000 billion overseas give away budget

As an aside – if you are looking for comrade Owen Jones today he is in my part of the world at an open meeting to teach lefties how to increase the communist labour vote to get the constituency MP – IDS -unseated when then next election comes .
If comrade McDonnell – the real leader of the communist labour party gets a big majority it may be our last General Election ..

Ah, little owen has been part of a campaign in my neighbouring constituency in order to unseat Crabbe.
He made an appearance last year at a public gathering. The commies are very strong here, and have a big presence in the social media, especially FBook.
They pose as ( insert name) council watch.
Of you have a minute read on:
I was commenting on the council watch until a post appeared purporting to show a leaflet posted in a Fishguard shop window. The leaflet was filled with anti gay quotes from the bible, and was attributed in the post to the jehovas witnesses.
The mods on the group deny anything except council related business, or stuff relevant to the county ( in their judgement of course).
As an anti lgbtq….(ad nauseam) posting the identity politics and SJWs were quick to call for action against such intolerance.
Well, unable to resist such an open goal, I posted some kind words about islam in relation to intolerance.
Cue howls of offence from everywhere.
Then one of them quoted ( srry MIS quoted ) 5:32 as evidence of rop tolerance. I then gave the full unedited version and its meaning, and called them sll useful idiots. Two then claimed who was I to lecture actual moslems! Huh!
So there it was exposed, an anti christian post, by moslems, was ok, but my islam comments were modded out and deleted.
When I complained the whole thread with any evidence was delted.
End of road for me, but people have no idea they are being conned.
The same people also ran a general election watch.
My constant bombardment of photos of steptoe with a variety of terrorists, thugs and murderers went down a bomb.
They really didnt make a dent in the tory holding, his majority increased. Without my support I hasten to add.
The aim tho was to get labour support, although they could post up pics of maggie with saville etc, etc, steptoe is such an open goal they were fucked.
I must say though, that social media here is the domain of the great unwashed as things stand.

I take it they avoided ‘let’s get down to the nitty gritty ‘ or calling a ‘spade a spade ‘ or ‘blackboard ‘ .

Is there any evidence – any where – of anyone other than some leech in the race relations industry being offended ?

Would some one in the industry such as Trevor Phillips – a sensible man now – find an issue with such Anglo Saxon terminology .

It’s good that the Police have time and resources to follow such issues and obviously do not need more cash from the mainly white taxpayers …

Interview just now between a b-string BBC News Channel anchor and the often irascible Labour shadow chancellor John McDonnell who is on best behaviour in the City of London presenting his plan for… basically, a nationalisation of the financial sector.

This little vignette delivers some remarkable insights into BBC editorial thinking.

Our BBC gal sees little to worry over in McDonnell’s ambition to get – as he sugars the pill – ‘Government and Trades Unions involved’.

If anything our interviewer tends to chide the Labour man about whether his plans might go far enough to prevent another crash. I would tend to think with his full on socialism he’ll initiate one.

One wonders what horrors George Osborne’s Bank of England placeman Mark Carney would come up with, were he to do one his famous stress tests on McDonnell’s little red book plans?

No matter, what really tugs at the BBC’s heartstrings is Brexit and so that’s where over half the interview is pitched. One doubts our BBC presenter is being properly balanced and impartial when in reference to a second referendum she twice employs the politically charged phrase “People’s Vote”

Sadly old McDonnell didn’t give her the full Remain commitment she wanted so heyho, BBC, there’s always the Lib Dems.

There’s rarely a public spending project the BBC doesn’t endorse with presenters eagerly providing a welcome favourable platform for tax and spend proponents. However, when the rubber hits the road (as our colonial cousins might put it) and there are personal taxes to pay… then not so much.

The often whimsically outfitted better-heard-than-seen Paul Lewis turns up on BBC tv this morning to promote his wireless show Money Box. And the current cause for concern? Certain agency workers who thought they were legally tax avoiding by taking earnings as ‘tax-free loans’ have found to their dismay that there is indeed a bill to pay to the Revenue.

We know exactly who are meant to be the good guys in this tale of fiscal woe as among those involved there are described to be ‘some nurses and teachers’. Hurrah! Our Paul has been told a sob story by a ‘social worker’ and yes it was a woman. Double hurrah!

And the black hats in this story… their advisors, naturally. Boooo! Hisssss! Well, paying tax is always virtuous so if we admit the cash is due then HMRC should at least give people extra time to cough up.

I have a sneaking suspicion this issue of failed tax avoidance schemes is rather close to many BBC employees’ hearts. Lineker to name but one.

Comrade Lewis is a bit of a benefits addict these days and the report about public employees using a tax avoidance scheme was a bit rich – as it were – the chap from HMRC should have gone I really hard and said these punters were lucky not to be prosecuted yet alone pay their taxes like PAYE types .

‘Money box ‘ is one of those typical socialist bbc programmes which want people who borrow money at high rates to be let off – without being responsible for their own actions

They told a story of someone who was defrauded of 60k by sending it to a dodgy bank account without checking the details were correct . I sent a bigger sum recently and treble checked the bank details to make absolutely sure – al beeb doesn’t do personal responsibility much – always someone else to blame …

      • AsISeeIt says:

‘al beeb doesn’t do personal responsibility much’
Precisely. Money Box like every other BBC strand now has to bend to the set BBC cultural outlook.

Nobody is ever a responsible free agent – there are always outside forces and mitigating factors driving behaviour. It’s victim culture. You know that favourite phrase – ‘society’s most vulnerable’? Well you will never hear it clearly defined because at some point it might suit a lefty argument to have almost anyone lumped in.

Secondly there is no cause ever not worth pleading. Afterall the compensation cake or the public sector purse is regarded as infinitely expandable so as to cope with all and any demands. 5,000 Grenfell survivors – cool, give them each a new £1m apartment. Mutiply that by 50 Grenfells, 100 Grenfells, fine, go right ahead and rehouse the lot. Another 10 million people turn up to cash in on the free housing, yep, the more the merrier. It’s probably all good for the economy or some such. Tell you what, they’ll pay our pensions, just like you know they’re so keen to do.

On how many levels is this piece of crap of a story downright malicious and wrong?
No wonder the BBC never mentioned it this week.

And ditto with Corbyn letting Trots and anti-Israel Muslim women into the Commons and without the necessary checks and clearances?
The same day that the copper on duty in Parliament is being looked at by some enquiry, about his being killed by a Muslim last year?
And AGAIN-no big news on this, as far as I know.

Holly I think my “snowflake” son still takes the BBC seriously and would probably tell you these other stories are relatively unimportant when compared to more important news such as Sandy Toskvig getting paid less than Stephen Fry or National “Afro” day.
In fact I had an enlightening discussion with him the other night where I discovered that I am bigoted because of all of these “right wing” sites I go on.

Fortunately we still have the BBC to give us the truth. Maybe I should get a telly again so I too can find out what really is going on in the world.

I also found out that there is nothing really that wrong with Islam because he had two Muslim mates at University (I did try to point out that these were probably not really very representative of all these other Doctors and Engineers that seem to want to come here) and further proof of my bigoted nature (if more is needed) is that I admitted that I would have a bit of a problem communicating to a woman in a full burka where you cannot see any of the features.

This is not an unusual analogy in many quarters – because they happen to know a Muslim who’s a great guy, then its wrong to vilify the entire religion.

Well, I assume that the two Indian doctors who made and planted a bomb at Glasgow airport, whilst working at a nearby hospital in 2007, were also deemed to be ‘great guys’ by numbnut (and white) friends of theirs.

I appreciate that each generation has their own musical idols, but (and I’m strongly biased here) in the 60’s we had far more of a choice as far as female singers were concerned. I say this because I remember an occasion in the mid 90’s when the biggest names to topline a concert was Kylie, and Robbie Williams. At the time there was no-one else to compete, so if you didn’t care for either singer you were basically stuffed.

I had this conversation with a young doctor who was prepared to suffer the traffic log jams around Knebworth to hear his idol, and told him that I too went to big name concerts, but on one bill there would be several huge names i.e. Gene Pitney, Dusty Springfield, Billy J Kramer, PJ Proby, The Hollies, so for the price of our ticket we may not have had the glitz and fireworks of huge arenas, but we sure as hell had a greater choice of entertainment and musical styles.

        • LynetteO says:

I know this is not considered in the same category but why didn’t singers use lyrics such as in Roger and Hammerstien musicals of the 50’s and 60’s which gave some useful advice on how to live eg “When you’re 16 going on 17” from the Sound of Music and pointed out flaws in society eg “you’ve got to be taught ….to hate” from South Pacific.

Come on BBC, make a bit of an effort to give your audience at least some minor sense of mystery and suspense.

The BBC TV movie review slot can be pretty damned tedious these days. Former co-host Gavin Esler has retired recently – to spend more time with his EU. Meanwhile Jane Hill has filled his slot and has embarked on a seemingly endless round of ‘love’ for every film Mark Kermode likes and loves. And of course she refers to her ‘partner’ or ‘spouse’ fairly often. OK, luv, we get it, you’re a gay. With that in mind we come this morning to our Mark’s endorsement of ‘The Miseducation of Cameron Post’. In case you didn’t know, here’s the blurb ‘In 1993 after teenage Cameron is caught in the backseat of a car with the prom queen, she is sent away to a treatment center in a remote area called God’s Promise. While she is being subjected to questionable gay conversion therapies…. yada yada yada… please consider this for an Oscar, please….’

Our presenting duo Jane and Mark – with all the chemistry of a jowly ageing former Trotsyite teddy boy and a prissy buttoned-up BBC lesbian – have a little snigger together “This movie was in production during the Trump election”. The implication they suggest is of course that Trump is anti-gay. This is an example of Casual Leftism at best.

Because, on the basis that Donald Trump is the only President in history (including Obama) who has ever endorsed ‘gay marriage’ prior to his election, tell us, what exactly is he supposed to have done to upset the gays?

Can’t we ever get back to movies without all the fake politics? Not with critics like Kermode and presentation from the BBC we won’t.

Recently the BBC had a story about blindfolded goats being delivered by helicopter.

I have learned, from sources, that these could be then taken from the roof of W1A to the rooms of senior bbc execs.

The BBC loves to focus on “Black Lives Matter” and how the black population is oppressed and unfairly bullied by whitey.

Here’s a program on BBC2 called “American Justice” which follows the sentencing of two black teenagers who committed murder.

    https://www.radiotimes.com/tv-programme/e/fmsf6v/american-justice–s1-e3-reckoning/

One of them, Sharron “Tommy” Townsend, walked up to a white homeless man and shot him twice in the head for no reason whatsoever other than he wanted to.

The teenager was eventually sentenced to 30 years behind bars but instead of describing the crime as a horrific, senseless, racist murder, which it was, they talk about the poor boy receiving an “inhuman adult sentence” due to the “politics of elected prosecutors”.

The program makers try to evoke our sympathy for the murdering black thugs by saying that one of them faces decades in prison, as if it’s unfair that he should treated so harshly, and say that “the conversation he has in a custody suite with his heartbroken mother is hard to forget.”

If this was two white teenagers who randomly murdered two black men the whole focus would have been on racism and no sympathy would have been shown. Instead, because it’s black teenagers murdering whites we are asked to shed a tear for how horribly whitey is treating the poor little scoundrels.

An interiew with a German who campaigned for moslem immigration and took them in. Gradually she learned the truth. Behind her back they mocked her and called her a ‘stupid German tart’.

Her reference to the ‘headscarf inside their heads’ is significant. They are not going to change or assimilate.
And this is why the efforts of the BBC and its Government to portray vibrant communities getting along with each other has to be questioned.
Guaranteed, this interview, this woman, will never appear on the state broadcaster

It’s going to be a frenzied Sunday of ramping up “Brexin” What with the London Mayor now “out” and representing his majority constituents to keep open boarders and draining of UK cash and resources.

Also interview with May completely unbiased – why can the BBc get away with including a sub title of “analysis” as a front for “opinion” which we don’t want, need or pay for through the BBC tax.

Finally a general gripe that Bbc use their various formats to advertise and promote their TV shows. I am sure Panorama will be totally supportive of the legal and democratic decision our nation made to leave. BBC will only be happy when they stoke the fire enough to cause civil disruption and fighting in the street. They would be creaming themselves at the prospect of reporting riots and clashes of protesters – the thought and prospect of violent clashes could be as much a motivation for the BBc as staying in.

Happy politics Sunday (read frenzied attempt to generate some interest in second referendum) and look forward to a full week of in depth opinion as promised by the Bbc

Wouldn’t it be good if the BBC would just give us the news without the constant filter of analysis from its many correspondents.
The Nick Robinson interview with Theresa May is certainly worth leading the TV news on, but political corr Chris Mason inserts his own “analysis” all over the main bits.
The PM calls Boris Johnson’s suicide vest metaphor “inappropriate” and not language she would use. Okay. We get that.
But Mason has to guide us by adding: ”look at the cold contempt in her eyes……”
Why does he even need to say it? Didn’t see cold contempt myself, but this is how the BBC overlays it’s own narrative on just about everything.
Mason is at it again on the BBC website, using the same observation in his analysis which is added to the main story.
Back on the TV news, a second corr is wheeled out. This time someone called Nick Eardley adds yet more “analysis”.
What it boiled down to was a few interesting seconds film of the PM but much longer devoted to the so called BBC experts.
Typical BBC telling is what to think and how to react.

What on earth is happening to this nations law enforcement when two people who represent the leadership of a registered Political Party have been sentenced to a stay in HMPrisons for ‘Hate Speech’, in fact this organisation was protesting at the disgusting behaviour of certain leaders of the Muslim fraternity who themselves were making very public threats against the United Kingdom. Shortly an Iman called Chudrey a leader of such traitorism is to be released from serving a short prison sentance, yet our own people who wanted to bring the dangerous and violence of this man Chaudrey to public notice have themselves been condemmed and have been continuosly and agressively dealt with by the Police force-now one might add appearing more like a Soviet Police Force supressing any anti-Muslim feeling no matter their infringement of our laws. The BBC either ridicule this Political Party ( of which I am not a member as it happens) and or support the Police Forces actions seemingly unreservedly. This action by the Police is Politically ochestrated as dictated by the EU or those that control the EU and is running its claws across other countries in the same heavy handed way. Let’s OUT soonest.

KHAN: The Met Police budget… comes from the central government, and has been shrunk and reduced…

PIERS MORGAN: What could be a bigger priority than people coming back from a Syrian battlefield with the intent to harm British citizens? Why’s it not the number one priority? Why are these people allowed to just come back in in the first place and then the London mayor does not have a clue to where any of them are?
