Weekend Open Thread 15 December 2018

I’m getting to the stage where events are changing so quickly that any example of Far Left BBC bias is surpassed by the next one . So I’ll stick with brevity

    BBC1 TV News. 19.43

BBC female interviewing three newspaper reporters from Dublin, Poland and France.

The French and Irish reporters were very anti-Brexit, but this wasn’t challenged. They had a monologue soap-box.

The BBC confused Poland with the Czech Republic in their titles.

At the end, the BBC interviewer says to all three regarding the mix up:

“It’s all part of Europe isn’t it? How marvellous!”

More pro-Europe and anti-Brexit bias from the BBC.

Absolutely agree, we get this dammed canned laughter in seemingly all progs and I’m sure in Strictly Come Dancing, it completely ruins one’s viewing-can’t believe that people would actually shout scream out but I suspect there a production member encouraging the shouting and continual clapping at every little action taken by the dancers. During a break in the proceedings a celeb ( if you can call them as such) singer comes on to entertain the audiance, usually I switch off the sound, but the dam audiance as I have witnessed when I did have the sound on, clap the dancers which drowns out the invited performer-rude is one word. Just so American as is everything.

I have some experience of ‘professional life’ in a firm. Things may be different in the USA but …

If a client ( such as a DJ Trump) had come to one of the Partners (such as a M Cohen) and asked them to do something illegal, they would be told politely but firmly “No.” and shown to the door which would be held open for them.

I have an uncomfortable feeling that Cohen is perjuring himself. Would that be for the second or third time?

Don’t know if anyone will agree with me on this, but far too much is being made of this racism and anti-semitism stuff coming from Chelsea fans. Football is one of the last places in the modern world where men can partake of the ritualistic behaviour that since time immemorial strengthened the bonds between them which in turn enabled them to fight off their enemies and build flourishing societies.
Hurling insults at opposing players and fans is what football is all about. Songs, chants, jeers and gestures are designed and intended to abuse, upset, belittle, humiliate, mock and ridicule. You can’t taunt another team with a politically correct chant. If it doesn’t hurt them, it’s a useless chant.
My advice to the BBC would be – just ignore this story. In the same way as you ignored the Rotherham Pakistani grooming gangs story. Because really, chaps, it’s even more insignificant than that one was.

..two vans move out of the way and the ambulance goes through

I wonder whether we will be treated to an images of her going to church this Christmas. It must be such a boor having to sit there and keep a straight face when the prayers turn to praying for the Nation and good governance, when you know you are a central player to one of the biggest stitch ups visited upon the British people for generations.

I think unless we get angry, very angry, angrier than we have ever been for generations the contemptible crooks who are pulling all of the strings in this will ensure we get sucked back into orbiting the EU and being dragged down with it as it all turns to chaos.

The fuel protests back in 2000 were pretty well organised, Oak.

I well remember walking around Trafalgar Square, and suddenly hearing a cacophany of hoots. Every lorry stopped and the traffic jammed up within seconds! It was all very effective, and funnily enough, peaceful too!

The general public were well behind the protestors and acknowledged the plight of transport operators and the like!

I’d not want to be there with a pitchfork though…

The BBC website has some sort of feeble ‘explanation’ on why Joe Corbyn is dithering about a no confidence vote, which is pretty well par for the course, as like most issues with Brexit, none of their autocue readers have a clue either!

For the most anti-democratic member of cabinet and parliament- Amber Rudd- ‘the rocks of no-deal’ (the only genuine version of Brexit) are looming. So she’ll look to Labour – surprise, surprise for help.
Cabinet has successfully driven Brexit against a wall. Parliament, which hijacked the first and only real ‘people’s vote’, has managed to tear Brexit apart. Even Farage is talking about a second referendum.
We know where the likes of the treacherous beeb stand.
Really, we -the people- have to look across the channel, to France. There we will find that people have realized their ‘representatives’ and ‘government’ are working against, not for them.
After a life-time of believing in parliamentary democracy, all the way back to the sixties, I have now realised how those occupying positions of power are, with a few noble exceptions, going to live the good life and please themselves, do what they want. And stuff the people.
Why did parliament ever give the vote to the people in a referendum, if they had no intention of implementing their decision?

The Cabinet and Rudd were predictable – but as for Farage both myself and a number of my mates are starting to have a few doubts about him.

Yes he does deserve some thanks for his efforts to get the referendum (though i think there were lots of other less media hungry, UKIP Brexit heroes who also deserve praise for this)

But why is he now talking about starting an anti EU party which would split the UKIP vote?.
And why is he supporting a second referendum which we know will be another EU stitch up?

Has he sold out to the establishment – all that glitz and glamour or has he been nobbled? Or is it all just about him?

Discussing the sporting performance of the year on Five Live they rightly discuss Tyson Fury’s fantastic comeback. Rather than focus on the sport, however, they talk about whether he has ‘changed’ and been properly re-educated regarding some PC heresy he committed years ago. I want to hear about sport – not moral purity. He is from a family of bare knuckle gypsy boxers, ffs: he is not going to have all the right-on opinions about everything. And who cares? He is a fighter not a moral philosopher. I would love some emasculated Beeb employee to go for dinner with some gypsy warriors and see how well their opinions go down. Whatever happened to tolerance? You are simply never going to get everyone onboard with every bit of leftist dogma – much of which becomes more and more absurd and is very difficult to swallow for certain groups.

I turned over in disgust. Even sport is being taken over by the SJW virus. All this rainbow laces and corner flags: this might have been needed forty years ago but now it suggests there is a problem that needs to be solved when there is not, thus having the opposite effect as intended.

Just leave us alone and stop telling us how to think. The overwhelming majority of people are decent. We do not need constant ‘re-education’ for flippant comments or having a sense of humour.

Remember when President Macron was the New Saint Tony Blair ? Why we can’t have him? Isn’t he great? – which was the bbc script at the time ? Well a very early piece describing how the French really see him and his type as disconnected and in need of ridding ironically – by a referendum.

The nebulous Juncker sex assault is not mentioned – nor is the arrest of a ‘man’ in Newcastle for terrorist offences – which is on the website .

As we know when the BBC reports that a ‘man’ has been arrested/charged with terrorism we know that they really mean – a Muslim . So to find something newer the truth you need to search about a bit . Turns out the ‘man’ is an Iraqi illegal immigrant cum ‘migrant’ plotting to attack a Christmas market .

Al beeb much happier with some this kidult teaching his dog to do ‘seig heil’ nonsense on twitter face .

Lastly – our justin does an interview with the president of some Pacific islands about yet another climate change nonsense treaty . Our Justin throws in a question referring to ‘Donald trump ‘ trying to get a bit to easy criticism. The interviewee responds by saying ‘President trump…’’’ and other world leaders have a role to play – so Justin fails. They just can’t not do it and not recognised mr trump as the President of the USA .

And lastly lastly – obama Care has been ruled unconstitutional and is off to the Supreme Court – so the Nobel prize winner s one achievement is likely to be flushed away …

And his only answer is, we did not know in 2016 what we know now. But what we “know” has been created by the EU in the hope that we will be driven by it into another referendum. The “facts” are actually artefacts. Ask yourself what would have happened if Blair and people like him had said on the morning of 24th June 2016 “I for one will get behind Brexit and do everything I can to make a success of a new future”. What would the EU have done? Would it still have made the process of leaving so impossible, if it had believed the referendum result was irreversible “for a generation”? And if it had not done so, what we “know” now would have been quite different.

All of this hassle could easily have been avoided, if -in 2016- the executive had simply announced acceptance of the people’s decision, and sent in teams to deal with the practical consequences.
But then parliament wanted back what it had given, since it didn’t like the outcome.
And the Remainer PM, telling us Brexit meant Brexit– a wonderful deception which meant nothing, proceeded on a charade that continues to this day.
Why couldn’t they all have been honest enough to tell the people that they spat on their decision?
    No courage. No integrity.

BBC Breakfast just had a pointless 10 minute interview with a Strictly Come Dancing “Super fan”.

The Super fan (who has never ever danced herself judging by her beer gut) came across as mentally ill and obsessive in what be the most pointless interview ever conducted by the BBC to date.

From the amount of camera coverage net-ball captain Amber Rudd is getting do you think the BBC is trying to steer public opinion?
Changing Maybe to Rudderless doesn’t seem much of an improvement, but as long as the successor is from their approved list, who gives a toss for democracy – as Gary would have put it.

Whether our present hopeless PM goes on to be judged by history as Theresa the Appeaser or Theresa the Nebulous is debatable. However, her feebleness does make me think of one of England’s most derided Anglo Saxon monarchs, Ethelred the Unready. This is the bloke who was so pathetic and ill prepared he would rather pay Dane geld than fight for our his nation’s liberty. We all know how that ended. And we’re being squeezed for £39 billion!
If I remember rightly the poor sap was eventually put out of his misery and usurped by King Cnut.
    Another perfect parallel.
That’s one thing we’re certainly not short of today.
When old weak and wobbly finally goes…
There’s plenty of Cnuts to choose from.

He died in April 1016, with Cnut’s significant victory at Ashingdon coming in October 1016. However, Ethelred wasn’t in the same class as May. In November 1002 he had ordered the massacre of all Danes in Saxon territory – the St Brice’s Day Massacre. The English did put up a fight.

Maybe somewhat outside the issues being addressed here, but nevertheless sums up the situation we and Parliament are facing now and in the future. These words were taken from an essay by Unlock Democracy-is only a part of the full essay.
When the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) between the EU and Canada was ratified, for example, the UK parliament wasn’t even allowed to debate the deal, let alone vote on it. The Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox didn’t give MPs any say on the deal, and he didn’t have to. Fox was hauled in front of the European Scrutiny Committee after the fact and grilled about his decision to not give MPs any opportunity to debate the deal, but at the end of the day, parliament was powerless to do anything about this. The withdrawal deal on the table has caused division, not consensus, and acrimony, rather than resolution. There are few champions of the deal, and even the Prime Minister herself can only at this stage muster pleas for acceptance rather than enthusiastic endorsements.
Parliament has been handed a fait accompli by the government. The decision before MPs is not a ‘meaningful vote’, it is a false dichotomy – a Hobson’s choice. Neither the public nor Parliament have been meaningfully involved in shaping the deal that will define our country’s future for decades to come. Parliament has influenced neither the form of negotiations nor the substance of the deal, so the only option MPs have now is to rubber stamp what the government is presenting – or else. For every deal struck in the future, parliament will have to fight these same battles, and the only way to win the war is for the UK to have a democratic overhaul.

I’ve been trying to find out an objective assessment of what a free brexit will mean but am hampered by the bias. Naturally the BBC does its funders a great disservice .

Examples – we will be subject to the exterior tariffs of the ReichEU . What are they? What will replace products with ?

The ‘bigger picture ‘is easier – we give £13 billion a year to the Reich EU of which it returns £3 billion to pay the farm industry to make a lot of cash .

If anyone has an objective source I’d be grateful .

There is an extract of a quote by , of all people , George Galloway, rightfully pillorying the vermin running the ReichEU for treating the PM ofvthe country which liberated them less than a life time ago with such disrespect .

It’s one of the big differences between THEM and us . They want to forget their past and it’s shame . We won’t forget the cost our people paid to free them .

Operation Manna at the end of the war might help their memories .

I hope the bBBC are watching the Man City v Everton game at the moment. Their new favourite victim Raheem Sterling isn’t playing, but a portion of the crowd were heard to chant “you fat bast@rd” towards someone during the 1st half.

Please BBC make this front-page news as we cannot have this sort of Un-PC chanting at soccerball matches. In fact if any fans rustle a sweet packet or dare to answer their mobiles during the game then they should be ejected and banned for life.

These players are only earning £200,000 per week. It is simply unfair that they are subjected to people shouting at them. It’s bad enough that they have to play when it’s raining. Hair gel isn’t cheap you know.

I was once a regular footy type . Supporters display a special series of emotions at games. Abuse of all types is part of the game – physical appearance , off the field antics – you name it .

And it’s not as brutal as it was . I went to a “friendly ‘ once and I swear to god someone threw a petrol bomb . In the 80s – never made the papers .

The BBC has its own agenda about footy and is using the banana / racials against players for its own purpose .

“Stacked audience”. Blimey, their audiences couldn’t be any more partisan if they were filled by Momentum. They’re always atrocious.
Any group that can boo the announcement that the extraordinarily polite and urbane Jacob Rees Mogg is taking part next week, isn’t so much an audience, they’re more of a mob.
This audience “rigging” has been going on for years.
Prior to the referendum, had you watched Question time, or listened to the equally ghastly, Any Questions, you’d have thought that Remain were going to win by a landslide. They didn’t. They lost.
And they still haven’t got over it.

Jeff, I am increasingly thankful that the Snuffy household has gone without TV for nearly 14 years. I look at the front pages of the national newspapers most days and I am increasingly lost in wonder at the dross that is pushed at the public in the 21st century.

I remember, as a kid, adults saying “TV: too much will rot your brains!.” but that was good quality compared to what today’s children and young adults have chucked at them.

Any Answers was quite remarkable today. (Have not bothered listening for some weeks – cannot put up with Anita telling callers “We are running out of time” and “Too many people want to come in on this” but she is doing most of the needless yabbering herself!)

Today, the BBC had found some youngsters as well as oldies who voted Leave. The majority of the contributors, just, I estimate to have been Leave voters, Remain a minority.

As dear old Mottie would say “Quite remarkable!”

There will never be an inquiry but it would appear that the local council was so terrified of further criticism over Grenfell that it became common knowledge that they were an easy touch for any third worlder looking for a taxpayers hand out .

I think a judge raised this in one of sentencing comments which would explain a lot .

As an aside I like the admission that the London fire brigade never planned for a tower block fire . They must have been watching something else on 9/11 –
So the cosy control room staff say “ stay put” and die .
