    Vote of no confidence tomorrow?

What will it take to get May to do the decent thing and step down?

And what will it take for Jacob Rees-Mogg to rise to the occasion and free the country from the clutches of the EU?

I doubt there is anyone else who could do it.

He can’t, she won the no confidence vote so is safe for 12months.
What should happen, but won’t, is that a delegation from the Conservatives should confront her and demand she steps down immediately. Someone like Dominic Rabb could then stand in as temporary Leader until a proper election can be held in 6 months time.
I feel however she is so THICK (not just stubborn) that she will insist on staying.

If say 30+ Conservative MPs trooped into Downing Street en-mass in a show of strength to demand she goes, then just maybe she could be shamed into doing the right thing.

Mrs Chamberlain wins ‘no confidence vote’ and as she does not intend to stand at the next GE, the Tory Party replace her PDQ with a new leader.

She is a liar and traitor because she said no deal is better than a bad deal but never mean it. General, your right she is so thick that the EU have walked all over her and at every stage of these negotiations. At least when Raab was brexit secretary he resigned because he knew how shite that deal was like with Davies.
Clean brexit is all that can fix this now and then the EU negotiate with us and don’t dictate terms. Get rid of May and put someone who puts our country first and it’s not just about economics, it’s about being free to be an independent self governing nation again.

But what if is it is true, and the show we are seeing is a charade to lead us to True Brexit, as wanted by the people.

I pray that it is. For if she lands us on that spot, all the big game politicians, and financiers will be stumped by the simple question that they openly state that they want to thwart the British people. This is exactly the tactic she is using against Corbyn. Corbyn does not know how to respond. All he can respond is to demand May cuts out a No Deal exit. She simply ignores it. Now why is that.

TT, it is illogical for JRM to vote against leaving the EU. I write with the benefit of hindsight, the ERG will obviously support the Government.

If the Government lose the Vote of Confidence Brexit may be postponed or cancelled.

Calling for a No Vote of confideidence in the Government won’t have done any favours for that nationalist socialist cretin Corbyn, if I was a labour voter I would be seeking a vote of no confidence in his leadership in fact a challenge to his leadership-who would take his place another……..I…d…t no doubt and as wet as a scrubber as they say in the Navy. However I suspect that as it is highly unlikely that Mrs May will get one inch of movement from the EU negotiators therefore another candidate for Premiership should be found to get on with the job of this United Kingdom leaving the EU. Who? For goodness sake it should be a Leave MP such as JRM.

Treason May should concede she has utterly failed as leader and hand the reins to the eminent Mogg, provided Mogg will accept the reins, if that’s how it works.

Unfortunately Mogg has indicated before that he has no ambition to lead the party. But perhaps that’s out of gentlemanly loyalty to May.

In all honesty why should they budge. Two thirds of our own parliament are intent on reneging on the referendum result and their own manifesto commitments to ensure that we remain a part of the EU. In fact, the EU have more representation in our parliament than the people of this country has and they will sit back patiently as the collaborators drag us back in chains to once again embrace the EU federal family of the subjugated.

Calling for a No Vote of confideidence in the Government was a total waste of time . All it did was to help T May in what ever plan she has in her mind.

Step by deliberate time wasting step, to a really stinky deal (which was designed to fail), to an Umm muddled impasse at the last minute is policy. I mean, you couldn’t make such a WA policy unless by design.

Well perhaps Brexit got a little more distant tonight – perhaps not – let’s see.

Either way if Brexit doesn’t come to pass then we owe it to ourselves to punish the BBBC for their traitorous role in this course of events.

In the event of no Brexit – let’s pledge to start a campaign of mass license fee disobedience. I know, I know, many on this site are already there. But let’s recruit the 17m disgruntled people to target the BBBC as the culprit. They will want to focus their wrath somewhere. Where better?

BBC Brexit Rule #1. Always emphasise possible downside of leaving, never the possible opportunities. And never challenge a Remainer.

I think we need to look at what is going on in France. The situation there could suddenly deteriorate and Macron’s position become impossible. If Macron falls and then the EU totters and everything starts to become fluid. In addition the EU elections are coming soon and victories Europe wide for the nationalist parties will make the current regime in Brussels isolated.
Given this I cannot see why Brussels is so intransigent with us. Other than the usual reasons of stubborn stupidity.
It also exposes our leave lobby which has allied itself with this soon to be discredited regime .

The fact that we allowed a Remainer to become Prime Minister shows just how little say we have in proceedings. Never mind the stupid words from that man Corbyn as to a No Vote of Confidence in the Government, much more concerning now is to get a Leave Voter into the position of PM, SAP. Not just to stand up to the EU but to give the world at large confidence that the UK is still a great country. Immigration, is another matter and one that will need to be addressed very seriously if we are to remain free.

Steve Woolfe – great guy and a possible future PM.

Politicians media and others pretend that Brexit is all about money. Well maybe it is to greedy politicians and finanaciers in Britain and Europe. But to ordinary uneducated people it was to bring back control of our laws to ourselves. To bring back the laws that we have given to those grateful countries that the world flocks to – America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. The people of the Commonwealth are befuddled how the UK could have sacrificed such a great heritage for a few pieces of silver.

Common law, respect of property, restraint, habeas corpus, and a tradition of law that goes back a 1000 years. And for what- a system cooked up by politically appointed leftist unelected commissioners.

I pray that we leave the EU on the 19th March, with no entanglements except ones of good will. Then we can be the guardian angel of continental Europe, and save it if its gets into trouble as it pursues a Bismarckian project.

“Fifty-five men arrested in West Yorkshire over child sex abuse” in a well hidden BBC article:

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-leeds-46867001

No details of the perpetrators… in what we can only assume is another case of Islamic sex slavery, because it would have been reported heavily if it were anyone else.

However a new piece of information did catch my eye, i have seen this before, but it just clicked in my head… because i am so suspicious of the BBC. According to the article:

“The claims made by seven women relate to abuse against them as children between 2002 and 2009.”

What i just realized is that, 55 men and 7 women means that these was 7.85 perpetrators for each victim…. so nearly 8 perpetrators for each victim (and these are just teh ones they remember)… Now that I think back on the court cases that i have read about, there are always a lot more perpetrators than victims.

So does this mean that in Rotherham where we know there were over 1400 victims, that we will have 8 times as many perpetrators?… that would be 11, 200 perpetrators.

But wait this can’t be right???…. because according to the Jay Report… Rotherham has a population of 8000 Muslims, of these 50% are women and 30% are children, so there are about 2,800 Muslim Men. Could it be that a Majority of Muslim Men are involved multiple times, so BBC, will you bother to investigate?

    Click to access independent_inquiry_cse_in_rotherham.pdf

… This is also a bit strange because only 420 (15%) of Muslim men in Rotherham are under investigation for child rape:

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6332387/More-420-suspects-investigated-100m-Rotherham-grooming-inquiry.html

We also know there are estimates of up to a million child rape victims… which would be 8-million perpetrators, yet we have less than two million Muslim men in the country?

    https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/child-sex-abuse-gangs-could-5114029

But Quilliam says at least 84% of these child rape gangs are Muslim (in truth is probably higher)…

    https://www.quilliaminternational.com/press-release-new-quilliam-report-on-grooming-gangs/

… so dear BBC, could you please investigate like we are forced to pay you to. Is this really a minority of Muslim men that are involved in infidel child sex slavery like you pretend?… because with these numbers i am more convinced than ever that the Muslim community is awash with infidel child sex slavery. Or maybe BBC, you are their infidel lap dogs who value English kids so little you could not give a toss if they are being subjected to serial gang rape.

Pointing out this gross “war crime” by Tommy Robinson, against young working class White girls by Muslim men, was a grave crime that Tommy Robinson perpetrated. Far worse then the actual mass gang rapes of vulnerable girls.

The fact that the authorities, from politicians, to the chiefs of police, the judiciary, and the MSM were complicit, merely made Tommy Robinson’s crime worse. He did not think for one moment that he was destroying the good name of the entire establishment, and bringing it to contempt.

Anyway, he has been appropriately punished, quite rightly harshly in my view, as a deterrent to the rest of the unwashed.

I thought I’d do the opposite to the normal Amazon buying .
I looked up the two books mentioned on this site ; The Noble Liar and David Sedgewicks BBC British Brainwashing Corporation .
I wanted to buy local , so therein I went into my town centre and bookshop , Waterstones .

I could put on order The Noble Liar , but despite it being on their computer and they even knowing the publisher , I couldn’t buy Sedgewicks book – even though I supplied the ISBN which I didn’t for The Noble Liar .

So I bought two copies of the Noble Liar and two copies of Sedgewicks book via Amazon . And then some others .

    Some points
1; I want to use local business where possible
2; why can’t that business do business for that book ?
    3 : I paid up front , that’s a book worth stocking on the shelves isn’t it ?

May I suggest that the libertarian members that see this site buy such books written by authors such as Thomas Sowell , Rodney Atkinson and Robin Aitken from a local bookstore first , if only to make them think that they could sell many other copies and spread the message .

Nonetheless Scotland voted remain in the ref because it was desperate not to lose the eu links the uk had. Scotland is screwed. There was a suggestion on the previous thread that this site needs ‘modern’ software.

I asked for examples, a simple link is surely not too much to ask? However apparently one has to undertake a full market research project, populate spreadsheets and no doubt 3-D pie charts (in colour of course), to find the best.

Now that may well be true, but that wasn’t the question.

Personally I find this site OK. There seems to be a recent problem with pages jumping about and it would be nice to navigate to the last comment and perhaps to individual pages, but otherwise ‘it works’.

This site does allow replies to sit next to the comment being replied to, some don’t. It also gives some indication of recent activity, again some don’t.

If people aren’t happy with the way this site works lets hear what features they would like to see and some examples, ‘more modern’ is as informative as a statement by Mrs May.

Just for example, you have been reading articles on page 4 and you go to do something else, then, a few hours later you come back and click on the comments at top left, could it be made to go to where you last read.

      Disqus seems OK, but I see those spinning gears a lot. {Addendum: I see Guido uses WP too, if an older version. But also Disqus, I guess in complement to add to the commenting oversight?}

WordPress looks to be more up to speed, but I am on a learning curve there.

Admission: I had what this site uses. I am sure there is a simple click to say what it is, and Stew can point straight to it. I recall it changed from one to another a fair while ago.

      Then I tried this: https://whatcms.org/?s=biasedbbc.tv

It seems around the best of the bunch, though on mobile it is also a trial and the image upload is more miss than hit with my Mac-based products. Forget threading.

It takes hyperlinks no problem, and converts Youtubes and twitter and even Facebook links too.

The thread linking seems to work well enough on a PC screen.

      FWIW.

I understand that, indeed I’m not calling for changes but there are some that are and I’m curious as to what they want.

I do think though that something has changed here. It used to be possible to link to another post on this site and to know that a click would take you there. Then a few months ago I tried to set up such a link and found that it didn’t work first time. I removed the link and didn’t give it much thought, except to wonder if the problem was at my end as a result of browser changes. Later on I saw the same thing happening when using a different browser so realised that wasn’t the reason.

It might be that no changes have been made to this site, rather the software provided by the hosting service has been ‘upgraded’. (There was a navigation feature on a website of mine that worked perfectly, until the hosting service changed the version of PHP that they provided. I ended up completely re-writing the code though, ‘according to the book’, nothing should have changed).

It would be interesting to be notified individually by e-mail of specific replies to one’s postings, as is done in Disqus (though that is possibly the only Disqus feature I should like to see incorporated). Scrolling through discussions a second time to see if anybody has answered you is too tedious (even if you have a brightly coloured and attractive avatar that is easy to spot, ho-ho).

So why would the BBC do that?,

Perhaps they have a policy of always fading some of the sound… so that when they need it they can fade out “ideologically inappropriate” words when needed… and no-one will ask questions because they always do it even even when there is nothing to hide.

Listen again if you missed it or wish to hear it again (it was very revealing if you listen between the lines and to the tone of voice and what is ACTUALLY being said), the Lammy interview ends at 7.30am.

Fed, it is not easy. It helps to have a Soviet Era ‘ear’ for ‘what is being said’ and ‘what is not being said’, for propaganda & spin and truth & lies. Never thought I could write ‘Thank you, Tony Blair for again teaching us to do that 1997-2007!’

You and I both know who is the real ‘Father of Lies’. It helps to have that sort of attuned ‘ear’ as well. 😉

I could be completely wrong but I think Mutti & May are keen Brexiteers now but not just Brexiteers: they are EU-nders.

A very different ‘Enders Game’ to the books of the same name but with some similarities.

On the other hand, if you read the Old Testament part of the Bible and know it well, you often read of how people can have all sorts of their own desires and write God out of the equation. He lets them do it. He lets them get so far, so far down their own road, and then their excess takes them on to failure. Big time. They even then have to go for God’s way or accept the judgement, His Judgement.

I came across something interesting in notes for The Book of Judges. I may try and put it on B-BBC but I have to find a way to put it up here. Too much to copy out. Makes some interesting points relevant to Brexit.

    TOADY Watch #2

BBC are having to sink very low to try to undermine Brexit. They have the Kiwi Korrespondent, Dominic McConnell, talking to an American investor, Steve Eisman, who is shorting shares in three British banks.

    Because of Brexit.

Now, BBC, what were you saying in 2007 and 2008 and 2009 about people who ‘short sell’, eh?

The KK introduces Eisman as the man who spotted the 2007-2009 Crash but he could also be described as the guy who caused the Crash. (He was a dealer in CDOs.)

The BBC are behaving vilely over Brexit, trying to stop it. But this time they boobed. Listen to Eisman carefully, to the end at about 8.50am, and he pulls the rug from under Project Fear v 3.8: “No-one really knows what will happen.”

Now they drag on Damien Green to undermine Brexit. Sounds like he has swapped places with the PM and gone over to Remain.

    Vile BBC.

Fed, “Are remainers so sure that another referendum will achieve anything they want ? What happens when it is the same outcome ?”

They are certain they can overturn Brexit but it depends on two things: the Losers Vote (Steven Woolfe’s apt description) will have to have a stacked set of questions with ‘Remain’ as one of three or four AND the British voting public will have to be gullible enough and/or scared enough to fall for it.

Refer to what I posted @9.12am, while you were also posting.

I’m fairly relaxed about if we get sucked back into the EU. I don’t want to be there. I would campaign against that and against being there.

Look at the history of Russia 1922/23 on and Eastern Europe from 1946 on and you realise that it can take a while for liberation to happen. It was interesting what Peter Altmaier said on TOADY. Peter Altmaier is the German Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy. He repeated the ‘standard EU lie’, in effect, when asked “What should Briatin do next?” by The Humph. “The British Parliament is sovereign, it is not for me to tell them what to do.”

        Nein, nein, nein!

Philip Hammond, Chancellor, and another who was a Government Minister at the time (it may have been Steve Baker MP) both stated on TOADY last October that the UK is no longer an independent nation while it is in the EU.

We want our freedom. We want Liberation!

        Stand firm, PM.

      Up2,

Definitely not the bBBC. Roger Bootle, ex -Economics lecturer at Oxford and founder of Capital Economics, was on Sky with Ian King yesterday and was allowed to speak freely about his support for Brexit, to point out the incorrect and reckless economic scaremongering of the establishment remainers and to highlight, uninterrupted, the opportunities that will arise and the potential for success that the UK has post-Brexit.

This was a good natured and informative interview and discussion which surprised me as it was on the ridiculously pro-Remain Sky. I liked it. It was refreshing to hear an informed opinion that made sense from someone who knew what they were talking about and who was happy to admit that although there would be some initial economic disruption Brexit made sense and the UK would prosper outside the EU.

This interview allowed a pro-Brexit voice to be heard without the usual disruptive interjections and it was conducted in a courteous and reasoned manner, seemingly without any pro-EU group-think agenda. As I say, definitely not the bBBC.

Thoughtful, on the other hand Jacob Rees-Mogg MP could be a very shrewd Brexiteer who can see where things are headed and knows that it is ‘one step at a time’.

Agree with you here: “Courage means carrying through ones beliefs in the knowledge that it all might end in disaster”

That is exactly what the PM is doing. She is playing her part (I think voluntarily, I could be wrong) to get the UK – intact & peacefully – out of the EU. JR-M is playing his part, as well as representing his constituents, in supporting her and the Government.

Remember we are in a negotiation with the EU. Our UK Remainers have been constantly trying to sabotage those negotiations from the start. ‘We’ have had to struggle against them AND the EU negotiators. Gradually, things are being peeled back, becoming simplified, to the point where Remainers are starting to negate themselves some more. Sit back and enjoy.

Jacob Rees-Mogg and the European Research Group in Parliament are, in my view, exactly correct in supporting the Govenrment in today’s Confidence vote. Hopefully the Labour Brexiteers – perhaps with the exception of Jeremy Corbyn – will be courageous and do the same.

I can hear Harold MacMillan’s voice saying “Events, dear boy, events.” except you have to change the word ‘events’ for ‘procedures’.

If Britain had said from the start “no money and import taxes on wine and cars” the EU industrialists would have been beating a path to their leaders doors forcing them to seek a trading agreement.

The cowardly way Mogg and his traitors have behaved is appalling. Voted to remove the PM, voted against her deal and then when it looks like he might be affected does a complete U Turn and supports the person he clearly has no confidence in.

        And that is unforgivable.

      Beltane,

Every reference to the rejected deal is to ‘May’ and ‘the government’, and yet I thought the ‘deal’ was what the EU in its immense wisdom had offered us?

That’s so true. I have never heard the BBC say a negative word about the EU. I guess the fact that both are untouchable, autocratic, unaccountable bureaucracies leeching billions off the public has something to do with it.

I read the following on the UKIP daily newspaper summaries, here:
    https://independencedaily.co.uk/news-review-wednesday-16-january-2019/

    “Church attacks
    Times
At least 15 Catholic churches have been threatened with bomb attacks and stabbings, forcing police to watch over services to protect congregations. They all received menacing letters, leading one school to withdraw pupils from all services at their local church. St Mary’s, in High Green, Sheffield, received a handwritten letter on January 4 warning its leaders that they must “stop all your services straight away”. It said: “If you don’t, your church will be petrol bombed while in service. Continue behind closed doors, your congregation members will be stabbed one by one. Blood on your hands. You have been warned.””

Now I wonder who could be making such threats?

LBC isn’t perfect because I don’t like phone-ins, but for its news content from 7-9 am it is far preferable to Toady, which I’ve finally ditched after 50 years. And I switch off before the awful O’Brien emerges from under his rock.

I started listening to Toady in the early seventies when it had some outstanding broadcasters but now listen to LBC, like you, switching off at 10.00am to avoid the pathetic James O’Brien. What puzzles me is that his listening figures are reported to be high but people I talk to do the same as me. Can anyone explain his questionable popularity? He even got given the boot by Newsnight on BBC 2 because he was so obnoxious..

@Cassandra the “weekly reach” is basically a fake stat
It’s 140K people max at any one time … although JOB mistakenly states “I’m going out to 1m listeners right now” Youtube example

You shouldn’t be adding up all the bits of people tuning in for 5 minutes etc at some point in the week and it’s not a million even then
“James O’Brien now reaches 943,000 (+4% YoY) listeners every week for a total of 3.2 million hours.”
Of 400 UK people only 1 is listening to JOB when he is on

What a great day to bury news. and although it’s on the BBC website, how many readers were aware of this:

“The Labour Party has been fined £12,500 by the Electoral Commission over failings to deliver accurate and on time declarations about donations.

The watchdog said Labour had failed to deliver an “accurate quarterly donations report” and “accurate weekly pre-poll reports” from April-June 2017.

It said it was the “highest fine we have issued” for that kind of offence.”

“Neither the Labour Party nor the Electoral Commission have set out how big the relevant donations were, or from whom.”

I can clearly recall the BBC broadcast side reporting the fine imposed on the Tory party for cheating during the election which nearly saw Nigel Farage elected as MP, but despite this being a record high fine, I cannot recall seeing or hearing anything at all about it.

    CARGOES

Dirty British coaster with a salt-caked smoke stack
Butting through the Channel in the mad March days,
With a cargo of Tyne coal,
    Road-rail, pig-lead,
Firewood, iron-ware, and cheap tin trays.

Leaky grey inflateable, smelling like a drain pipe,
Pointing to our coastline, down near Deal,
With a cargo of children aged about thirty,
    Surgeons and teachers and engineers.

Spanking new super-yacht, full of gin and Aperol,
Waiting in the shallows for the boats to arrive,
With a cargo of beeboids, managers, autocues,
    ‘Snowflakes’, ‘comedians’ and SJWs.

Miles and miles of artics, full of British merchandise,
Waiting down at Dover to begin the journey South,
With a cargo of car parts, motorbikes, laptops,
Loads of English apples and a vineyard of white wine.

Here are the reasons why TB, a disease that was almost eradicated twenty years ago, as to the reasons behind its rise in London:
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-34637968

    2r9cbq.jpg

The report does say that “More than 80% of London TB cases occur in people who were born abroad.” but it does not give a breakdown of the countries they hail from.

Good job the BBC reporters didn’t investigate the rise of the disease in Birmingham and cities in the north of England as they might have had another ‘scoop’.

Anyone with a brain knows that the rise in TB is caused by immigration from Africa and Asia. Thus, the lying BBC chooses to illustrate this story with a photo of a white baby.

The same thing happened when the population of the world allegedly passed six (or maybe seven) billion about nine years ago. They illustrated this with film of a baby born that day who was white. She was also the ONLY white child born in the hospital that day. I only know this because her father is a friend of mine. How utterly strange that the BBC did not choose an African or Asian child in a story about the growth of the world’s population.

Ever get the feeling they are taking us for mugs?

        Stew,

The daughter of a friend became a primary teacher and got her first post in the London area a few years ago. She suffers from sero-negative arthritis and takes NSAIDs that suppress her immune system. She was advised by her Consultant rheumatologist and by her GP to ensure that she had a TB jab before starting work, both of them obviously aware of the real risk that she would be at simply through working in an area with such a diverse community. Needless to say that this was one of the many reasons she took a post in her native Northern Ireland at the earliest opportunity.

I wonder how many people who have weakened immune systems or mild health conditions that can be managed in modern western societies are having their lives put at risk by a negligent government and a pro-immigration media? Surely this is the sort of public information that a national broadcaster should investigate and discuss rather than hide away and hide from?

This is the Biased BBC Website. So I will just stick to basics.
Everything is surreal with the BBC’S coverage with the Brexit
“events.” I am just looking forward to a moment where
we may have a ” Broadcast News! moment. The film in
which news presenter Peter Finch let’s his viewers know
his own opinions are and things get more and more crazy as
he becomes a cult hero to the viewers to the chagrin of the
” BIG BROTHER” at the studio.
We saw a frenzied Emily Maitlis last night looking at times
if she was going into deranged state.Whom will be next?
The ratio of women presenters and reporters to men on BBC TV news is around 3 to 1 now. The few men to me seem calmer,
so I expect it may well be one of the plethora of women who
may have their ” Broadcast News ” moment. Who do you think
it may be ? There is about a dozen or so to chose from.I wont
include somebody like Riz Lateef from the Londonistan Programme
which has nailed its colours to the mast in support of the left
wing of the labour party for at least the last ten years.

I’m unusually late in arriving here this morning so forgive me if I wind the clock back to roughly 0845 earlier. Tuned in to Toady at that time to hear some American talking about the ‘Markets’ vis a vis the vote yesterday evening. He emphasised that no one but no one in this country knows what the Brexit future will be. Absolutely correct. That reply has to have been coached by our far left Marxist State Broadcaster because, contradictorily, he then said, what he did know (conclusively!) however is that a no-deal exit “would be a disaster for the UK”. How did he arrive at so positive a statement if not words put in his mouth?

The BBC and SKY news web sites carry short reports of the Kenyan ‘attackers’. Just to remind you, Muslims massacred 14 innocent people and have left many dreadfully injured.

There are only a couple of mentions of the attackers and elsewhere brief outlines of the fact they are Islamic extremists.

The word Muslim isn’t used. The fact that the minority Muslim population (15%) are attacking the majority Christian population (83%) isn’t mentioned.

Do they know what’s happening and just don’t report it or do the liberal left not understand what is happening to Christian populations all over the world?

Thank you for contacting us about BBC News.

I understand you feel we should cover alleged expenses abused by MPs.

We know that not everyone will agree with our choices on which stories to cover, or the order in which they appear. Our news editors make these complex decisions, based on the editorial merit of all the stories at hand. We accept that not everyone will agree with each decision – various factors are at play and there’s often debate in the newsroom too.

A range of factors affect how we put together our news bulletins. Is it breaking news, or a dated story? Does it follow on from a recent event, or change our understanding of things? Is it unusual, or attracting national interest? We consider these things and also put great importance on verifying events and building up a clear picture – before reporting in a reliable and trustworthy way.

Editorial decisions are more of a judgement call, than an exact science – so you’ll even find variety from one BBC programme to the next. Time constraints, the expected audience profile and the style of each bulletin or current affairs programme can all play a part.

Nevertheless, we appreciate the feedback that our viewers and listeners give us when they feel a story has been overlooked or marginalised.

All complaints are sent to senior management and programme makers every morning and we have included your points in this overnight report. These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC and ensures that your complaint has been seen by the right people quickly.
