Headlines today certainly reflect what a successful hatchet job the BBC did on the Tories last night.
It’s all about candidates clashing, ganging up, evading questions (usually because the wretched Maitlis woman kept butting in and saying “I don’t understand”) etc etc.
And of course the trap was set with the question about Islamaphobia, leading to calls for an investigation and thus another lovely headline grabber.
As pointed out by others on this site, it turns out that the imam who the BBC chose to fire this particular salvo happens to be an active anti Semitic/Zionist Corbyn supporter (see link) – was he vetted? How very BBC.

    Edit: Nuts, only 3rd!

First?? Help! I have to find an on-topic headline [scramble, scan, surf…] – ah, here’s another one from The Express:

    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1141966/abc-tv-licence-over-75s-furious-pensioners-protest

(Apologies if someone else has already put it up on the previous thread!)

    Here’s a para for flavour:
“The National Pensioners Convention (NPC) has called on local pensioner groups, trade unions, community groups, students, members of the public, MPs and councillors to take to the streets outside their local BBC bases on Friday as part of the growing backlash against the cuts.”

Of course, it is ridiculous to need a licence for your TV in the first place. Perhaps there should be a new TV game show for politicians only entitled “Who Dares Wins”, and whoever dares defunds the BBC (for starters) gets first prize!

An American supporter of President Trump is to donate £150 million to Oxford .

Tourette’s Robinson interviewed an oxford staffer and pushed for the donation to be turned down because of President Trump .

Of course it should be turned down . Any money from people the BBC snowflakes don’t like should be refused . The BBC doesn’t like anyone who doesn’t pay the TV licence . Therefore it must refuse my money and yours if you support this site because it doesn’t like you

I wrote Tuesday that the Tory coronation process might as well be done without involvement of the MSM – which is the enemy of anything – anyone – of the Right –

So please no more maitless messes

Meanwhile – Londonistan murder number 5 in a week.

As I write this Tourette’s Robinson is on about Boris again- a whole hour of hate from the BBC . Off switch .

Wall to wall Boris bashing. Bojo is bluffing and blustering. He is bumbling, rolling back on policy.

    Bring on Solid Stewart.

Guess what? Rory Stewart is doing a wobble as well. His Citizens Assembly idea is back on the cards having been off his agenda for four or five days while the BBC tried to make him appear sensible.

Apparently, Rory now reckons he can get a Citizens Assembly up and running and advising Parliament for a vote in just three weeks. Really.

No questions asked by Mishal, I note.

    I wonder why?

The BBC are constant – bash Boris. They are so transparent..on Breakfast the same as radio. The questions he got asked were clearly set up…and stupid…
And who do they get on BBC to talk about the programme – a female Indian and a male muslim..from Beaconsfield conservative – couldn’t they find any one white not just one? It isn’t a racist comment just an observation since my family live in Beaocnsfield and I know there are quite a lot of white people there in the conservative party…get some balance BBC

I think just about everyone I have heard says the format was rubbish and most turned off – I kept switching it off and back on in the hope it would improve….But do the BBC accept Maitless and the format were useless – No….pathetic

Toady features Norman Smith taking over the attack on Boris. It’s time for Islamophobia; in the form of ‘news’, Warsi comes forward. She wants an investigation into ‘Islamophobia’.
Nothing about Antisemitism. Gove mentioned it in vain last night to attempt to stop the blue-on-blue violence, the beeb was hoping to entertain us with. Regrettably the counter-attack petered out.

Soapy Sopel, Socialist Spokesman is not happy.

The man who Soapy said would be impeached within weeks, then when that didn’t happen, said he would be out of the White House before he could celebrate Christmas as a President, then when that didn’t happen, said that the mid-terms would destroy President Trump, then when that didn’t happen, said that the Mueller investigation would result in the President being found guilty of everything, then when that didn’t happen, has had to report on the TOADY Prog that President Trump has announced that he will run again in 2020.

What is even worse, it sounds like Soapy had to attend the President Trump rally in Florida and listen to all that cheering.

    Oh dear …

It is tempting to go way off-thread, whether with RP or now that I know Big Bro was a plastics engineer, with him/her, too. Am now tempted to divert onto that favourite BBC topic to discuss various virtues and failings of the stuff.

None of the useless cowadly inept Tories turned this around on him and quoted verses in the Qur’an, nor did they mention the words of Jo Brand having potential consequences.

“Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the unbelievers wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush.
But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free.
        Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful”

Criticism of Islam is demanded in a free society, and one religion should not have special protection from criticism. Islamofauxbia is a word invented by an Islamic terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood, proscribed in several countries including Islamic ones, yet not apparantly in the UK !

That’s the value of a place like this: learn something new every day from other folk.

It used to happen with the Blogs from Senior BBC Editors until the BBC sabotaged their own success and introduced silly limitations or let the Editors get lazy and not do a Blog for a while. Or prevent comments on their Blog.

I wonder if they will ever wake up to that? The BBC appear to be pushing Podcasts in a big way at present. They are obviously not thinking too carefully about that. Podcasting can make the BBC irrelevant. Correction: Podcasting can make the BBC even more irrelevant. It is possible for anyone to Podcast and, therefore, to start putting the BBC out of business by competing directly with the BBC’s Podcasts.

Mishal moderates a discussion on AI in the light of £150m being given to Oxford University, statues notwithstanding (or should I write ‘statues notstillstanding?’) to fund research into Artificial Intelligence.

Carissa Vellais (sorry if spelled incorrectly) doesn’t know what to do about AI and all the ethical questions it raises. I wondered if she was a University graduate? But she does know it needs someone to decide the answers, it needs a regulator, someone with ‘teeth’. Oh dear! Again.

I think the younger generations are setting themselves up to become automatons, drones, merely told what to think, what to do. No responsibilities, no decisions to make, no choices, no freedoms.

They will be prisoners of their own device.

Just imagine anyone else putting this clown on the TV other than the bloody useless BBC.
And as for these muppets all agreeing to investigate “Tory Islamophobia”, FFS…
The last thing this country needs is an investigation into “Islamophobia”. It’s balderdash.
You tend to find that people become a little “phobic” when constantly confronted by terrorism and paedophile gangs. It isn’t a phobia, it’s a perfectly natural reaction.
My parents became a tad phobic during the last war when my mum’s house was bombed and my dad’s ship was torpedoed. Peculiarly intolerant…
Most of us don’t like the idea of young girls being gang raped.
Most of us get a tad upset at the prospect of innocent citizens being murdered on our streets.
Us ordinary folk don’t work in a building surrounded by bollards and armed police.
Our sanctimonious, politically correct MPs are given an extraordinary level of protection.

This has to be kept in the eye of the media and the police have to be badgered: what exactly, did they do? what exactly did they find? when exactly are they going to tell us?
I refer back to the Sunday Times article and the comments of a member of the Electoral Commission, a QC who, already in 2008, warned about postal vote and other abuse.
The parliament appears to have done NOTHING? A decade later. NOTHING?
The beeb will bury the Peterborough story, if we let them. After Abdullah from Bristol and Sajid Javid getting everyone to committ to an investigation, the beeb have again weaponised the ‘Islamophobia’ narrative. (Gove caught on and turned the tables to look at Antisemetism, but the beeb had set all this up very carefully to make sure Labour and its problems faded into the background.)

Times Comments not useful, There is something weird going on
very very few in the comments or on Twitter address the points in the actual Gove article.

The article starts with a massive attack on Corbyn
‘The new PM should take on Corbyn & believe in Brexit’
      “I led the Leave campaign”

(yeh but then you stabbed Boris so we got Remainer May as PM)
‘track record .. to deliver change’

      Re those Comments
OK always look for a debunk of an article
So first look at the top comments, instead of wading thru the article
but this time there is something going on
..maybe AlistairCampbell has a team of PR people writing the comments
720 is a lot of comments, for an article that few of us are interested in.
I moved to checking on Twitter , where only 4 accounts tweeted the article.

The top Times comment is written by a tricky Remainer commenter
..who firstly calls out the Times (that gets the likes),
then changes tack to attack Brexit.

What you need is someone who has actually read the article, instead of a RemainerZombie, or a Brexiteer who hates Gove

The “get Boris” campaign by the bbc now clearly has turned out to have a theme, kicked off by Mateless last night, and HEAVILY reinforced by Nick Robinson on Toady this morning: “Words have consequences” is the main slogan, although there are other lines of attack. Briefly, Gove caught on last night, when he spoke about antisemitism.
maitless could hardly contain her hatred of Boris, slipping in the odd bit about what he did as mayor of London, raising another absolute beeb favourite: Boris is to blame for Nazanin’s fate, etc etc

I see that the Telegraph highlights Stewart teaming up with Gove.
So the bBc are not the only ones, running a “get Boris” campaign!
Gove did it three years ago, and this time around, it seems little Rory is trying to help him.
Brian Cox told us last night that there could be life on Saturn’s icy moon, Enceladus. Could NASA/ESA not speed up their next project and get both Gove and Stewart out there, the only place where we can reasonably be assured that these two MPs won’t cause trouble? I believe there is hydrothermal activity there, that strange creatures could thrive in?
The gap could easily be plugged by bringing back genuine Brexiteer, with no ‘maybes’, ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ about leaving on deadline date: Dominic Raab.
Actually, looking at Enceladus last night: parliament needs somewhere to set up shop while the Houses of P /Palace Westminster is renovated. I know just the place…

On climate change and all the elite members of society constantly telling us to go back to living in caves.
I have read lots of articles by climate change specialists, and whether you believe the science or not, they all agree on one thing.
The greatest danger to our planet is over population, and the best way to have a positive effect on the climate is to have less children.
Does this mean that by donating to comic relief, children in need, Oxfam (soon to be rebranded as child rapists on tour) and other such organisations we are actually saving lives and destroying the planet?

Wouldn’t it be fun to get Greta the great can spearhead the campaign to ban charities from saving the starving Africans for the good of the planet.

I just hope that Saint David Atterborough lives long enough to meet the young African who is alive today thanks to donations to children in need and comic relief, and who goes into the history books as the person who killed the last wild Rhino

Many years ago I lived in a small mining village in South Derbyshire. I remember a thriving community, busy shops and a couple of great pubs full of genial locals.

Now living in the South of England, after many years I was back in the area and decided to stop in the village for a look round.

I found a sad run-down place, every shop closed, pubs closed, village hall shuttered up, no-one out and about.

A few miles away, a new housing development has appeared with commuter cars on every drive.

The BBC is now under huge attack and criticism again because it just couldn’t help allowing one of its brown eyed favourites to ask a loaded question to the hated Tories leadership hopefuls.

It goes to the Lefts starry eyed dreams that Islam is a peaceful lovely religion which has no faults, and that all Muslims are somehow victims of White male Western oppression.
It never crosses their tiny minds that Muslims might actually be as bad as some people paint them. These truths are simply dismissed as being ‘right wing’, and remember all you need to be ‘right wing’ is to criticise Islam however mild that criticism might be

So now the truth emerges, and the cretins at the BBC act all surprised. They are surprised because they could never contemplate the rumours that were told were true, and I can imagine today behind the scenes there is some discussion about this being some right wing or ‘zionist’ plot to slander the reasonable religion of Islam.

Whatever these terms used to mean left and right refer to one’s attitude to Islam. Far left, as in Left Unity, were for dialogue with Isis. Right wing refers to those who are not active in opposing Islamophobia. Far right includes those who regard the term ‘Islamophobia’ as BS. Extreme right refers to divisive people who complain about children being gang raped.

          • Richard Pinder says:

Right Wing is right-minded, what is right and the right answer. Nigel Farage is the right man for the job because he is the leader of the 29 democratically elected members of the right-minded Brexit Party. Unlike the BBC, payment to the Brexit Party is voluntary, even if you vote for them.

Left Wing is wrong-minded, sinister and the wrong answer. Lord Hall is the wrong man for the job of leader of the BBC because he is a member of the undemocratic sinister House of Lords, and forces people to pay the BBC on threat of imprisonment, even if they promise never ever to watch the BBC ever again, even after Friday. (see the Daily Express for “the Great BBC Switch Off”)

Therefore undemocratic institutions like the BBC, House of Lords and the European Union are loved by evil battery acid loving left-wing people because they remind them of the beloved Soviet Union.

            Anyway, that’s what I think.

I have been on holiday in France and I can report that one of the objectives of the Remain/Brussels axis has been achieved. Many ordinary French folks quite understandably don’t realise that our politicians and civil servants have been in cahoots with Brussels to ensure that Brexit has been made unnecessarily tortuously difficult and protracted. Even if they may not have been successful on stopping it altogether, only time will tell on that, they have made many other Europeans wary of trying the same thing themselves. For the EU this is a great outcome as it will serve to slow down and perhaps even reverse the trend of people wanting their sovereignty back. Throwing off the yoke of the liberal Globalist elite will take along time. There is no trick, no deceit that they will not use. They will abuse their power to retain their position and the ruination of millions of ordinary people’s lives matters nothing to them.
