On politics live the tory and labour wimmin were arguing about the oft repeated mess labour left which resulted in the years of austerity.

In one way you have to feel a bit for the conservatives.

After every labour government they leave the treasury empty because all labour can do is spend like a drunken sailor and borrow when the money has gone. They have no self control or sense of responsibility with money and they are totally fiscally incompetent.

Then, in come the Tories and they have to clean up the mess left by labour. This invariably means tightening up on the money issues to try and reduce the out of control labour spending and they then get blamed for the harder conditions or austerity.

Older folk see this reoccurring situation and so the sensible ones vote Tory as opposed to the young who only see more free stuff from labour and they don’t think of who is paying for it all.
A bit like pensions. Younger people don’t start thinking about them until they become a bit more older and wiser.

In short, labour spend everything and the Tories need many years to try and repair labour damage.
Why can’t coburn and all the wimmin on her show understand this.

I think it may have something to do with the way State Broadcaster is funded? They don’t need to worry about such trivia as sound finance. It will be in the back of their minds that their privileged soft cushion lifestyle is more likely to be maintained under Labour.

Today’s bBBC propaganda is working well for them. All of the comment appears to be about the overpaid ‘talent’ – people whose names we know from TV or radio – whilst the grossly overpaid talentless – people whose names we don’t know from behind the scenes in bBBC are successfully hiding their vast salaries.

This is the real scandal. Hundreds of people who don’t do anything but have given themselves grand titles like director of this, controller of that or manager of the other, taking six-figure sums annually from the bBBC tax.

Stew, Chennai (formerly Madras) has run out of water because it is a city with an exploding population and very poor urban planning/infrastructure, in a dry part of the country, with very seasonal (monsoon) weather patterns.

Reduce the population to what it was in the 1950s (less than a fifth of what it is now) and the supply would be more than adequate.

Yes, makes very interesting reading and once again shows what a bunch of overpaid nobodies they are. Vanessa Feltz a top paid woman? Why? Jo Whiley got a £100k raise for….not much. She appears to be paid more the Maitlis and Bruce (on that list anyway). Gabby Logan and Lauren Laverne – atrociously overpaid IMO, Jason Mohammad in the top ten seems to be mostly sport….why?? Anything to do with the name? To show diversity in the top ten? Are the BBC really telling us that he, Logan and Laverne could not be replaced with cheaper talent? How about giving lots of graduates an opportunity on much lower salaries, thereby finding new talent. We all know it’s just a big diversity gravy train.

      • BRISSLES says:

Feltz does a couple of radio spots for her ridiculous salary, and then tops it up with writing columns for womens and newspaper magazines. Meanwhile her ‘fiancee’ Ben Ofeudo (apparently something in a pop band) doesn’t have to worry about putting food on the table – is the ultimate kept man.

There has to be an end to this abomination by the BBC to overpay overrated ‘talent’. Has Lineker caught someone with their pants down at the BBC ? which is why he’s paid a ludicrous amount for hosting one programme a week during the football season.

As for Claudia Winkleman being part of the trio of high earning women, well, she must have a f……g good agent, like Feltz. Even that other dipsy blonde Tess Daly is on 6 figures for just 4 months ‘work’ – well prancing about in evening frocks and clapping like a seal.

BBC use every opportunity to associate themselves with LEEDS UNITED hence Ms Logan’s dad used to play for that fooball club and they think that if we had a close relationship with Leeds the citizens of GB would look upon the BBC as close relations also.

The BBC uses this same tactic with IPSWICH TOWN football club; as their manager used to be Bobby Robson ex-England manager as it gives them loads of opportunity to make themselves look like good, loyal citizens also.

The Summery Summaries continue for TWatO

The Montacutie has had an 80% pay rise! The mind boggles at this profligacy. If the Montacutie, who does not work a full week for some reason (work-to-rule? on strike? family reasons? health reasons?) gets 80% more, what did Carrie Gracie get?

Lord HawHaw is interviewed and is disingenuous as usual. Apparently the BBC have inflated the programming part of the annual budget in the last year to make it appear that the salaries part of the budget, containing the 80%+ pay increases, is smaller. In reality, it has increased but not by as much as programming. Even though Lord HawHaw is in BH and I’m at home and we haven’t shaken hands, when he leaves the airwaves I still count my hands and fingers and check my wallet is there in my pocket and contains those moth-eaten £5 & £10 notes.

Sarah later ‘lets the cat out of the bag’ about the programming. She says, of the Wimmins World Cup semi-final between England and USA, that it will attract more viewers than all the programmes broadcast so far this year on all three BBC TV channels. I am fairly certain that I think I heard that right. Maybe Sarah intended to say “across all three channels in a month” or something like that? Perhaps maxincony will be kind enough to check. If Sarah is right, that suggests, that even with a 50% increase over the Q-f game which was watched by 8m+, the total TV viewing for the BBC in 2019, so far, has been under 12m viewers across all three BBC TV channels.

    Therefore, the BBC is dying.

Well done, Lord HawHaw. Your extra expenditure on programming has masked the salary increases but is doing nothing for the BBC.

I suppose the beeboids rely on the previous policy the BBC used of avoiding pension liability by getting beeboids to set up production companies to become ‘contractors’ .

Beeboids rely on moral superiority to do their jobs . But for someone who spends there life reading from an autocue to get half a million a year compared to a worker who has real life changing responsibility – I don’t think the beeboids can claim much of a moral superiority – they are just prostitutes – souls sold for cash ….

As I understand the above the judge deliberately refused to mention the European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Act 2017 here in his/her ruling because the establishment are trying to suppress the text of the Act from being widely referred to/read, or have it ruled upon or mentioned in open court.

Robin Tilbrook’s Facebook account was taken down (disabled) when he published the full 137 words of this law (In text form). To see this go to the pdf version in the above link (I can’t link to it directly).

They do not want the text version and nub of the case – This Law – all over the internet because the Act is specific in it’s wording in LAW.

      1. It only confers power by parliament to issue the notice (not withdraw or extend it).
      2. Once notice is given the clocks ticking (two years max.)
      3. It specifically repeals (in spite of) the European Communities Act 1972.
      4. “any other enactment” The last limb of this simple Law says “no other law,” which means no statutory instrument, no motion, no other law can alter this act.

      • Up2snuff says:

ti, if the Government was acting ultra vires, ie. abusing its powers, I am not sure that that matters too much here. And if that was the case, why did the EU agree? They would be equally at fault. I suspect it was run past the ECJ by the Brussels people and an extension deemed acceptable.

Another question would then be: ‘Who had suffered harm and how could they be compensated?’. Who was at fault: one Government or all 28 Governments? The answer is it cannot be quantified. How do you define and close the class, which IIRC is essential in law? How do you quantify the harm to be compensated? Ditto. In large part it is ephemeral, an affront to those who voted Leave and in greater part an affront to the UK’s democracy. How do you value that?

As I said above, Tilbrook and Co are asking the law to turn back time. That it can not and will not do. In addition, the class and harm need to be established. Again it cannot.

Too complicated for me. I was trying to edit my post (I copied the last part from Daddy Dragon’s YouTube page) but was prevented to edit with 4 mins still to go. I gather others have had this problem with editing.

I assume from what you say the Appeal will be rejected, although it does seem strange(?) that the judge did not mention the Act.

Yes, I’ve been troubled by the edit freeze. I was also not able to view the video as it is HTML5.

The Act you refer to is Parliament having its say in accordance with the ruling of the Supreme Court in re Miller. If Parliament had had a repeal Bill for the 1972 Accession Act brought before it at the same time, and it also passed with the EU(NoW) Act 2017, then I think we would be ought of the EU on 29 March this year. That would have prevented Theresa May going to Brussels to ask for the first extension and it would have come into force at the expiry of Article 50 notice.

At least Sky News pointed out that the paper in question hadn’t yet been peer reviewed which is the normal procedure before it can accepted for publication.

The Guardian went further and reported that –

“these bigger increases in probability may result in part from changes in land use, soil moisture and irrigation, the growth of towns and cities, and air pollution, all of which can affect temperature”. I think land use means deforestation.”

My conclusion is that (even) the Guardian is more honest than the BBC when it comes to critical journalism and the latter is full of ‘Greenpeace’ looneys.

libmob went crazy and tried to stop this.
from 2011 FoxNews had been available but behind a heavy paywall
Sometime in early 2017 Foxnews became more available via SkyUK

There was political intereference cos in May
“O’Reilly accuser to meet @Ofcom as @FoxNews scandal threatens @SkyUK deal”

That causes Murdoch to go soft on pushing FoxNews in the UK
Then Sky first took it off it 7th June 2017 saying it was cos of the UK election

It was off for a month cos tweeters complained

    – Then August 27 Sky unilaterally decided to remove it
Loads of people complained on Twitter

10 weeks later on 6 Nov 2017 even tho the channel had finished in the UK Ofcom made judgements about 2 way old things one 6 months old one 10 months old.
If they’d complained at the time it would have been something , but waiting so long to complain about minor things seems contrived.
They claimed the 2 items didn’t have enough alternative viewpoints. (a thing the BBC does every show)
That is ridiculous cos US networks are not equally left/right balanced. Other networks like CNN have loads of lefty/libs and few righties.

complaint #1 Jan 2017 shortly after President Donald Trump’s first attempt to implement a travel ban on several predominantly Muslim countries. The regulator found that Mr Hannity and his guests were overwhelmingly supportive of the ban and had not included differing views.”

Complaint #2 May 2017 \\ Mr Carlson’s show, which aired in the aftermath of the Manchester suicide bombing, was highly critical of UK authorities but did not “reflect significant alternative viewpoints,” Ofcom said.//

Seems to me that libmob political interference got FoxNews removed from SkyUK
Then journos said “Oh it had no viewers !”
well of course it did at the end
cos Sky had never marketed it and they’d switched it off for a month at the election

    …. BBC pushing Green-steel dream
8pm Radio 4 Radio4 show about British Steel
    Context
#1 for the last 100 years well before green-politics steel was already the most recycled material there is
… scrap has always been put in the steel furnace.
#2 There are good reasons when you are making QUALITY steel you don’t use anything like 100% scrap
(the ingredients are carefully controlled .. and scrap steel is always contaminated. etc.)

    To the prog
Adrian Goldberg and producer Jim A Booth came to Scunthorpe & spoke to people
but then chose to end their prog with a TAKE AWAY narrative
from a Guardianland man Prof Julian Allwood who said
Well the UK is only making as much steel as it scraps every-year
So it could be a world leader in new Green-steel
by just recycling steel by making it from 100% scrap
.. this would need financial support from government ‘

    This typical effing metropolitan-news guys
    They start with an idea/agenda
& then carefully CONSTRUCT narrative to that support that idea
They’s read a Guardianlalaland voice with a magic idea that fits their worldview
& that is what they were going to push.

The golden rule of journalism is that you test/challenge narratives
    ..not just air them unopposed.
They were in Scunthorpe so why didn’t they ask the Scunthorpe BOS plant engineers why we don’t use 100% scrap steel in the BOS furnace today ?

If there was such a thing as magic-green-steel
..There’d be money in it and a profit making corp would already be on it.

6:40pm BBC Local news did the EU parliament story
    very cynical framing
First they show the Brexit Party turning their backs
    and then the presenter remarked
“The Liberals had Stop Brexit msgs on their T-shirts”

    talk about lying by omission
They had a swear word NOT just “Stop Brexit msgs”
… that is a level of rudeness

The hypocrisy of the BBC is breathtaking when one recalls that Jo Brand’s ‘acid’ comment was a ‘joke’

      The article adds –

“However, it sometimes happens that off the cuff remarks, which might be amusing in one cultural context, lose their humour in translation when brought into another. He regrets any offence that may have been given.”

Throughout his life, the Dalai Lama has opposed the objectification of women and supported gender equality, it added.

The statement also said comments in which he said refugees in the European Union should ultimately return home “may have been misinterpreted.”

“He certainly appreciates that many of those who leave their countries may not wish or be able to return,” it said,

However, there was no apology for his comments on Mr Trump who, he said, had a “lack of moral principle”.

Magid Magid wore a sweary T-Shirt to the EU
now as a Green MEP he says the Brexit Party are disrespectful
Then the bbc in the photo story seem to use a Sheffield photo that says “immigrants make Britain great”

    The BBC Live page says
Magid Magid, 30, was wearing a baseball cap and a T-shirt with swearing and an anti-fascist slogan on it when he was asked to leave.

The former Lord Mayor of Sheffield was elected as one of six MEPs for the Yorkshire and Humber region in May.

The European Parliament said no member of staff was involved in the incident.

Mr Magid said he did not know who the person was who asked him to leave, although he believed that individual to be an official.

He said the person asked if he was lost and then suggested he leave.

He added: “I make people feel uncomfortable, people don’t know how to react.”
BTW That makes it sound like that is beloved EU is racist and assumes a black guy in the building is a lost tourist.

Radio Sheffield …. thorough Labour Labour anti-Brexit presenter Toby Young let his mask slip and just yelled at caller Lee that if course turning your back is worse than a sweary T-Shirt.
… a few minutes later he remembered he had to pretend not to support the LibDem stunt.

Badly informed …he said “they take a salary”
em Richard Tice doesn’t take one.

      The call was at 8:35am
Lee pointed out that libmob support the American Footballers refusing to kneel for their anthem
So Brexit Party were just doing the same
..whereas LibDems swear words reflect that the disrespect the views of the voters.

They were not doing just the same. In the Amricans’ case it was their own national anthem, so they were deliberately insulting their own country. In the case of the MEPs the music was not any national anthem, let alone theirs; and worse, it was being promoted as a national anthem, so they rightly refused to put themselves in a compromising position.
