Midweek Thread 18 September 2019

I was thinking that maybe we should stop referring to the State Broadcaster as the BBC and just call it the RBC – the Remainer Broadcasting Corporation . There doesn’t seem to be any pretence about its output being balanced and neutral – it’s just Far Left and Pro EU .

Lord Hall Hall’s speech at the Royal Television Soc. Cambridge Convention yesterday afternoon.

    https://rts.org.uk/article/live-blog-keynote-tony-hall

    included such gems as:

It is important that politicians put themselves up for long-form interviews, proper scrutiny and examination is really, really important

    There’s that word ‘scrutiny’ again

Evidence based journalism is how we operate. We need to be the place people come to, to find out what’s actually going on

We need to be, an admission that the BBC is currently not where truth is to be discovered.
Has not been for decades, some might say.

“Evidence based journalism is how we operate”

Correct, the BBC takes the evidence and examines it with the greatest care.
The BBC then decides what, if any, changes need to be made to the evidence before it is published.
The BBC then operates on the evidence.
If the evidence is unacceptable to the BBC it dies in the operating theatre and is promtly buried in an unmarked grave.
If the evidence is only marginally unacceptble to the BBC it receives cosmetic surgery, is pronounced fit for BBC propaganda purposes and published.
If the evidence meets all the BBC requirements it needs no treatment and is published unchanged, this is a rare occurrence.

    These climate protesting children.

I think that in my days at school, any chance of getting time off would be gratefully accepted.
However, we wouldn’t be off on some climate protest, we’d be downtown or off playing somewhere.
We didn’t understand the details of things like climate change and I don’t think we thought much about it anyway.
The only ones who would actually go on this ‘strike’ or whatever it is, would be the pc virtue signallers and we didn’t have much of that in my schooldays in the ‘60’s
Then, there would be some of the lads joining in to try and ‘get off’ with some of the lasses during this strike but they wouldn’t be there for the climate change reason.

Maybe the young’uns today are far more sensitive having been brainwashed with all this pc, lefty, climate, gender and other nonsense by schools and the media all the time.

Anyway, at least they have nice weather for it.

    A thought.
Why doesn’t either Parliament make any change in the climate against the law or why doesn’t Gina Miller take somebody (anybody) to court to stop climate change.
It could work the same way as, for an example, California declaring a law against nuclear war and that means that it cannot ever be bombed.
Makes as much sense as controlling the world’s weather I suppose. Maybe they can change the Suns temperature while they’re at it. Make sunspots and solar flares illegal for instance.

They would be better off protesting against pollution where mankind (or is it genderkind) can actually do something about it.

      EG,
so much deflection, smoke and mirrors and acres of wokeness.

Fact: UK currently operate 3 coal fired power stations producing 7,994mw of power – for example.
China operate 114 coal fired power stations producing 336,669mw!
Even tiny Hong Kong produce 7,863mw from their two.
Also, China (allegedly cutting back on coal power) are busy building significant numbers of new coal fired power stations all over the developing world.
If so bad, why are ER not invading China and the like and punishing those with most guilt?
Closing bridges and business centres in UK is like Vegans protesting meat consumption by barracking a greengrocers! Pointless, ineffective but signal well and truly virtued.

      We already have British thickos.

Especially those ultra thickos with a long record of hating and attacking us.

      What is shameful is :-
The Grade Inflation which has infected the West for thirty years.
The all must have a prize policy.
Eg Warwick University, first class degrees awarded rise from c4% to c45%.

Also shameful is sending people to university solely to have three years extra Marxist nonsense fed to them 24/7/365.

Also shameful, and laughable, is the BBC/Guardian use of these Micky Mouse university degrees awarded statistics to “demonstrate” that the Remainiacs are intellectually superior to Patriots. Only in your dreams Lefties.

On a couple of occasions I received notice of some of the things posted by her and fellow lefties on a group that was profoundly anti-Jewish. I know she is anti-Jewish from face to face conversations that I have had with her in the past. She is a nutter and blames everything from the price of milk to volcanic eruptions on Jews. She is, in fact, the equivalent for the Jews as the BBC is for Brexit. (E.g Today some twigs fell from a tree into my garden…because of Brexit!)

I can only assume that this group has now gone underground because I have not noticed any recent posts. Of course, I may have been ‘unfriended’ for having had the temerity to announce my displeasure at the hostility shown by the posters.

It’s a movable feast and could be anywhere from 12 years to 5 billion years depending on whether you believe AOC et al or cosmologists. What isn’t a movable feast is how long can the UK remain recognisable British. The window here is very narrow , it’s somewhere between twenty years and hundred years, certainly no longer. I find this puts everything else into perspective. I think of the long history of our island and it’s people and worry about Brexit. Then I realise that Brexit will have little impact on how long the British people have got left , I’m afraid our fate was sealed by Blair and his gang of Trotskyites under New Labour. As to climate change , does anyone really think that the Islamic Republic of Britainistan is going to give a toss about climate change?

Given the propensity of the establishment and their BBC lackeys to cover up the consequences of diversity, I don’t suppose we’ll ever know.

What a great storyline. Because that’s such a thing isn’t it?

The cowardly snowflakes do not dare to have a storyline about the real menace, which is Islamic terrorism. They are afraid because if they did that, Islamic terrorists might kill them. QED. Far safer to slander the white British who are the actual victims of Islamic terrorism.

If Josef Goebbels were alive today he would be in awe of these people. They have taken the dissemination of lies and agitprop to new levels.

There is a picture on the front of BBC news at present of a youngish lady holding a very small placard with the words ‘ Use less paper’ at the latest climate drivel. I’m still working on how to publish images courtesy of Roland Deschain, but have not worked out how to copy the URL on an IPad. However, the sign reminded me of ‘ How to wipe your arse using only one sheet of toilet paper, preferably IZAL’ joke.

Stage 1. Fold the Paper into 4 pieces
Stage 2. Tear off the Top right corner, leaving when you unfold it, a hole big enough to fit your finger in.
Stage 3. Take the small piece of paper you have torn off, and place it carefully to one side.
Stage 4. Placing your index finger through the hole, gouge out the excrement remaining from your evacuation.
Stage 5. Wipe your finger with the sheet so used, and throw away.
Stage 6. Get the paper from Stage 3. You did remember it would be used! Keeping it folded, use to remove excrement from beneath fingernail of index finger.

    Then wash your hand!

Long press on the image, then tap copy. Be aware some pictures won’t let you do that, probably some kind of copy protection.

Went to visit the state rooms at Buckingham Palace today, and travelled by taxi from Marylebone. Spent a very pleasant ten minutes chatting with the taxi driver. We talked about climate change and Brexit. He spoke the kind of common sense that taxi drivers are renowned for. We agreed on everything. Made my day. As for the state rooms, I must admit there were moments when I wished I was at the Vagina Museum.

I am puzzled about the vagina museum having seen it mentioned on our state broadcaster.
Long ago pictures of vaginas used to stimulate little boys who were learning to masturbate.
If that is what this museum is for then someone ought to issue warnings against the danger of blindness

A caller to Jeremy Vine today came up with a new idea today. Basically all those that were ‘climate deniers’ didn’t believe in ‘science’ so they should give up all their new technology items!

Well as someone who has played a small part in producing some of those items it seems a bit mean that I won’t be allowed them in future! Especially when ‘climate scientists’ tend to use technology and not develop it and those that produce new technology are appalled at the way ‘climate scientists’ pick and choose their data and then change it if it doesn’t fit. It might be nice to make an aircraft out of tissue paper but paper is only as strong as paper is, not as strong as we might like.

Of course as the aim of the ‘de-carbonisers’ is really to push us back into the authoritarian socialist dark ages it is generally thought that it is the ‘greens’ that ought to show an example by ditching the technology.

Another caller made a comment about mobile phones and the internet and Vine got quite animated, no doubt wishing to defend his daughters’ life-style, ‘after all in the olden days people took photographs and used chemicals’. The caller bravely muttered about ‘server farms’ but was shut down.

EDF, ten years ago, estimated that 10% of electricity went to feed the internet, goodness knows what it is now. People might notice that BT and Virgin Media cabinets now ‘hum’, no longer being simple terminal boxes but powered hubs. My mum used to fetch out her Kodak ‘box brownie’ on sunny days when she might fire of a couple of the eight frames on the film roll and then put the camera away for another year. Vine’s girls no doubt post gigabytes of ‘cat videos’ daily. And then their mates re-post them again and again. But no-one sees the internet. (Mum’s photos will probably last 100 years unlike ‘krazy kat’).

Jeez, they didn’t even mention that the Rotherham groomer is already in jail for murder.
A fact that I guess was suppressed during the trial to avoid prejudice.
There is a brief online mention on the bbc
A convicted killer who was part of a gang of men who groomed and abused young girls in Rotherham has been jailed for 18 years.
Mohammed Ahsan, 35, was sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court after he admitted three counts of indecent assault against girls under the age of 16 between 1999 and 2001.
His jail sentence makes him the 20th person to be convicted as part of Operation Stovewood, the National Crime Agency’s investigation into sexual abuse and exploitation in Rotherham covering the years 1997 to 201

Surprised no one has picked up the BBC shilling for terrorist organisation ‘The Muslim Brotherhood’.

Pushing forwards the Fascist lie the cowardly useless incompetent Tories were Islamofauxbik they claim that they only definition which can be used is the one Labour adopted i.e. the Muslim Brotherhoods sharia compliant definition.

Of course its is Muslim activist Saeda Warsi again, and they managed to dredge up some other Tory MP who claimed he had overheard a conversation which he regarded as ‘ialsmofauxbik’

There was absolutely no actual examples of the so called ‘Islamofauxbia’ probably because they were risible, but the BBC have aggressively run this story in a way which wouldn’t normally have been expected. especially as it is clearly a personally run activist campaign by a single individual.

I wonder if all these “Young people” protesting against “climate change” are the same young people who spend all day glued to their smart phones, checking and “liking” their social media posts? Every single interaction with the Internet creates traffic through data centres, which need power and in turn create a substantial amount of heat, which needs localised air conditioning, which also needs power and incorporates so called “greenhouse gases “.
From a column in “The Independent “…

“The amount of energy consumed by the world’s data centres – the repositories for billions of gigabytes of information – will treble in the next decade, putting an enormous strain on energy supplies and dealing a hefty blow to efforts to contain global warming, experts say.

Whether you’re “liking” something on Facebook, streaming the latest Tarantino movie or posting an instagram from the pub, every internet activity involves huge amounts of data that needs to be stored somewhere. And as the “internet of everything” brings innovations such as driverless cars and high-definition video watches ever closer, the vast network of data centres that have sprung up in the past decade will spread.”

How many of these young people will be keen to give up their smart phones and close down their social media accounts for their “cause”?
The same ones who probably get dropped off right outside school or Yooni by mummy or daddy in a gas guzzling 4X4!

Alas the cowardly useless incompetent Tory party are too spineless and useless to do anything about it despite clear evidence the BBC is in breach of its charter.

It’s a shame Nigel Farage didn’t found a new political party rather than a pressure group, because a centre right conservative party would almost certainly wipe out the rotting Tory party.
