Tuesday sees the start of the Supreme Court hearing on Prorogation. I’m guessing it will take a couple of days to hear with a result at the beginning of next week. The outcome may give the Bercow Party – which now has an ‘opposition ‘ majority of 48 – the opportunity to recall Parliament for yet more abuse of Democracy . I’m sure the BBC is enjoying every moment .

Yes, my disillusionment with Trump started with the Khashoggi murder and I believe his Saudi activity will contribute to his downfall. Iran is basically a civilised country and US intelligence could undermine the mullahs, whereas there is no hope that the Saudis will grow out of their barbaric beliefs and practices.
I don’t know the extent of damage to the Saudi oil supplies, but a drastic cut in their revenue might contribute to the return of our politicians and universities to Britain.

Fed, this morning I decided I wanted to listen to a Tweet of the Day repeat: Carry Akroyd and the Snipe. Why? I like snipe and encounter them occasionally on the Thames Estuary.
First thing BBC ask me to do is sign in. At the same time, they lie to me. “We will keep you signed in.”
They never do.
Then the link will not play. The incompetent BBC’s incompetent software on the BBC incompetent server does not recognise that I have the latest Flash Player installed. I then have to refresh the page in order to play. Not a great effort but still a barrier to access.
Add up all the tiny barriers to access the BBC and after a while, a listener like me may say “Shan’t bother! Meh!!”
There are alternatives to filling time with BBC hassles and lies.

The pension shortfall has not been reduced in years and still stands at an eye watering £1.8 Billion.
If the Tories had any form of competence and a spine they would be forcing the BBC to reduce this through extra contributions and lump sum payments, but as usual they do nothing.
The government are never going to privatise a company with a pension shortfall this big and the BBC almost certainly knows this, and is using it as a bulwark to discourage any attempt to end the TV tax.
Hence the endless empire building.

The World This Weekend (Sun BBC R4 1-1.30pm) was not presented by the usual BBC Chief Sneerleader, Mark Mardell, but by lowly BBC Correspondent, Ross Hawkins.
He did an excellent job and really asked tough and probing questions of two LibDem persons at the Party Conference in Bournemouth. He probed, he challenged, he questioned. The LibDems were shown to be totally vacuous intellectually and policy-wise to be on a collision course with the electorate.

I don’t think that analysing her comments serves any useful purpose because her problem is that she’s clearly exceptionally dim.
Most of the people who spout this stuff are, but they’re so used to going unchallenged that they seriously believe that they possess some deeper understanding of what is going on. They fall apart when challenged, which is why they invent spell words to silence people.

Al Beeb’s consumer affairs programme on R4 today at 12.30ish had a representative of the millionaire Symington port dynasty complaining about the below cost price of red Douro wine in our supermarkets and the threat that was to the local way of life. It seems that port wine (which I love), same grapes different process, supports the local farming communities which may have to leave the land. The problem is the law (Portugese or EU?) which specifies that only a fixed percentage of the crop can be used for the expensive port.
Seems like a classic case of government/EU? interference in supply and demand. Doubtless it will lead to a call for more government/EU funding and no doubt Brussels will be eager to pay up…probably with OUR money as usual.
No comment from Al Beeb about market forces.
I quite like Douro reds and will now buy more if they are cheap but I’m just as happy to buy New World red wines of similar varieties which are equally good value, even before Brexit.

I think what ‘theisland’ refers to is religious dogma, of any type – there is a difference, and I am opposed, vehemently to that.
I have to admit, I find the BBC drama Scarborough quite funny but even here you can see the work of the BBC diversity propaganda engineers at work.
It’s the two police officers, a male and a female who are both black. The male who is so camp that he makes Rylan Clark-Neal, soon to be seen in the revamped Supermarket Sweep, look like Charles Bronson.
Why do the BBC use mostly black actors in it’s dramas, why not asian or oriental ones? Only 3% of the UK population is black, concentrated largely in London and other large cities. Most of the country in fact is not very diverse, and if anything black actors are actually over represented in film and TV.
The same criteria applies to television commercials now. Why do over (well over) fifty percent of TV commercials have black or mixed race families with the man portrayed as a black, why not use actors from different ethnic backgrounds?

I also find in many cases that by and large, many BAME actors are not terribly good actors/resses, which is more grist to the mill that tokenism is alive and well.

That is why no deal has been reached.
Many talking heads on tv are telling us we’ve been negotiating for over 3 years and are still getting nowhere.
