The end of the week will see how persuasive the BBC/MSM still is after so much poison .

    YouGov MRP is up.

    CON: 43% (-)
    LAB: 34% (+2)
    LDEM: 12% (-2)
    BREX: 3% (-)
    GRN: 3% (-)
    SNP: 3% (-)

Tories predicted 28-48 seats but I am still suspicious about rigged votes and the news reports of the past day might weaken it.

It looks like a close call which might encourage the left to vote Labour.

Expect some BBC spin to get people out of the door to vote for Corbyn.

We are close to a majority, but also close to a hung parliament which is 2017 all over again.

I’ve got a tenner on TBP getting at least one seat. Odds are 3-1. Meal out at Wetherspoons if they achieve it. A bun and a free coffee at Waitrose, paid for with the few coins left in the treasury, if they don’t.

I think that a Brexit Party win would be one of those undetected surprises that come up in most GEs. The same with UKIPs win a couple of years ago. Some said it would never happen but it did so it can happen for other parties. Sadly the same could be said for Sourbry’s lot although the chance of any of them winning a seat is even more slim

    Those editorial guideline thingies
..that Beeboids think they can flout
\\ One area in which the revised guidelines are somewhat clearer than the previous ones is ‘Conflicts of Interest’ and the accompanying guidance document on ‘Social Media’ is also relevant.

“All BBC activity on social media, whether it is ‘official’ BBC use or the personal use by BBC staff is subject to the Editorial Guidelines and editorial oversight in the same way that our on platform content is. […]

Social media platforms provide an invaluable opportunity for both BBC output and staff to share content and engage with others in an informal environment. But just as everything we do on our own platforms is informed by the Editorial Guidelines, so is all our activity on social media platforms – whether it is in a ‘professional’ or ‘personal’ or capacity. […]

Disclaimers written in biographies such as ‘my views not the BBC’s’ provide no defence against personal expressions of opinion on social media that may conflict with BBC guidelines.

Individuals involved in the production or presentation of any output in News or other factual areas that regularly deal with a range of public policy issues have a particular responsibility to avoid damaging the BBC’s impartiality.” [emphasis added]//

    Thanks smoogie7.
I’ve not known YouGov to be favourable to the Tories, but it is still a significant lead.

I know a LibDem (sorry to admit this), and he is voting Labour as a protest against Boris.

My view? If Labour win, it will be a hung Parliament and they won’t be able to enforce their rule. If Boris wins, he will have a majority.

The BBC must be very, very worried about the outcome. Good.

To be honest I am still worried. A very slim majority even of one would be enough but the higher the prediction then the more head room to predict safety.

Like I said rigged votes from Labour could well happen and we do not know how tactful voting goes. In some ways a slight increase in Labour support at the expense of the Lib Dems would work in the Tories favour in Tory/ LD marginals but Labour deserve to lose more seats.

An actual loss would weaken Corbyn’s reputation this time and plunge Labour into chaos.

Of course any Tory majority would wipe the smirks off the BBC’s face and should have them running scared of what Johnson might do if they really get him wound up.

If I was Boris I would deal with them straight away. Things need to change

I’d be more worried if I was a Labour supporter. Far more worried.

The BBC has to be neutralised. Some parts are good, many others are not.

The Brexit Party need to win a few seats and hold the balance of power. That’s the only way that a real Brexit will happen and the only way that the BBC will be held to account. The Tories have been soft on the BBC and need to be leaned on.

Farage deserves a medal. A medal that he’ll never receive.

Labour would be feeling miserable at the moment. Their supporters have been badly let down and even though there are some screaming fans I think that another election loss would hit them hard when they realise that their Corbyn was not as electable as they thought.

The problem that the Tories have had is that they have not had a majority to get things done. We can partially thank May for that but I can imagine that things such as taking the BBC on which would require some votes in parliament and the same with boundary reviews would be impossible when the other parties want to curb them.

Corbyn would whip his party to vote against anything and the other parties are so obsessed with stopping Brexit so anything in the Tories favour was blocked.

I think that they have only noticed the bias against them too late. A couple of years ago the BBC where bad enough but before Brexit most people did not take much notice. Some would say that the BBC was too PC but it is only the past three or so years have we really seen how corrupt the BBC really is.

Now that we have seen it then now is the time to take action.

AS for the Brexit Party it is not clear if they would win any seats. It is possible but would be a push. A couple of seats would be good of we hit a hung parliament but there is still no poll that shows them solidly winning any seats. Their position has dropped a lot throughout the campaign as we have slipped back into the two party system. This is not exactly a good thing but while Labour have Corbyn it seems that leave voters will want to vote to block him.

6 month old BBC prog about private basic healthcare working in Chatham
.. It’s almost impossible to see an NHS doctor there
So a Ugandan-Indian pharmist made use of a law change to become an Independent Prescriber
He consults for nothing, prescribes a drug for £10 which he sometimes makes a profit on, sometimes not
Half his customers are in theory able to get free prescriptions from the doctor but his service is real convenient.

This is probably why no party is ever brave enough to challenge the BBC. They will ramp up the bias further and keep you out of power. The Labour Party need not to worry however. A few nods, a secret handshake and some more funding for our ‘brilliant reporters’ and Labour get to stay in office for decades and we will never know the true horrors of what they get up to.

One thing I will give Johnson is this though. He is not acting matey towards the BBC and has no interest in trying to control the media. He is giving the public a choice instead.

Election blind dates: Owen Jones and Nimco Ali https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-2019-50721273

More blatant bias where Owen Jones (why?) is given more air time to talk over someone who isn’t a Tory but doesn’t like Corbyn. He is given ample opportunity to call Boris a liar, homophobe, and generally slag him off.

    Britbox i find annoying.
People pay the tele tax, and then the beeb use the money (together with the ITV, which is paid by adverting – so acceptable) – to then charge again for the setup of it and re show the programs again

    Contemptible!
