Happy New Year / Decade to all readers and contributors . With a fair wind this decade will see the end of the Far Left Biased BBC . Let’s make it a New Year / Decade Resolution .
If there is one thing which was revealed in 2019 – it was that all the anti Brexit Far Left propaganda heaped on the British Public every day by the BBC counted for very little. That has damaged it beyond repair .
Last!
(Of the year, anyway)

If I’m not mistaken tonight is the night Muslims in Paris run amok torching hard working people cars for fun, and the British media completely ignores what has happened and doesn’t report it.

As I said in the preamble to this Thread Happy New Year . And especially to the trolls who visit the site from time to time to dump a bit of poison on us .
I think regular users of the site should spare a moment for the trolls who will be suffering at the thought of leaving the EU in 31 days followed by a government which can push through the kind of policies which will cause them to despair for 5 years and maybe even more ( they’ll need an 11% swing to get a Corbynite government in 2024/5.
And lastly – a big thanks to a Mr J Corbyn of N1 who made it all possible …..

All with charm, grace, intelligence and wit.
Here she’d be denounced as an extremist by our state broadcaster.

Up2snuff, how kind to remember us! I’m still alive and read lists when I can. But looking after house-mate with beginnings of dementia, so time to post has been limited. But what a year it’s been and at last the outcome we band of brothers dared to hope and pray for. Happy new year to everyone.

This letter was in the Christmas edition of the Spectator, and I think it deserves to be widely read:
Fairy light memory
Sir: I enjoyed James Walton’s review of Elizabeth is Missing (14 December). Sadly I’m now unable to watch television as I have dementia myself, like the character played by Glenda Jackson. While I therefore cannot comment on Walton’s critique, I can stress how happy I am to see dementia getting an airing on national TV.
The disease is one of the biggest social challenges this country, and indeed the world, faces. It is certainly a bummer of a diagnosis and it can strip away your self-esteem. We who have dementia may forget details in the blink of an eye, but emotions remain embedded as they involve a part of our brain often left intact. I’ve already apologised to my daughters for if and when I forget who they are, but I tell them to remember that I’ll always love them.
You may be wondering how I can type this letter. Dementia is a complex disease and experiences of it vary. Imagine the brain as a string of fairy lights, each representing a different function. They flicker on and off; sometimes you can do something one day and not the next. When the lights fail altogether, dementia has won. Until then, the lights turn on and off — that’s why I can type and others can’t; they can cook and I can’t. We’re all different.
I’ve always been a glass-half-full person and I never dwell on what I can’t do. When the fog descends and dementia takes hold, I tell myself: ‘It’s not me, it’s this cruel disease’, and sit quietly until the world makes sense. My mantra is: ‘There’s always a way.’ Dementia may be terminal, but so is life, so I enjoy every moment. If today is a bad day… well, tomorrow may be better.

I’ve actually seen a funny sketch on BBC1 Scotland poking fun at Greta. “At home With The Thunbergs” had her parents making the most of her being in New York by leaving all the lights on “without nip, nip, nip, how dare you”.
I await the complaints.
The BBC producer probably thought that the sketch perfectly illustrated the reason why young folks like Greta are needed to police the wanton behaviour of their parents. No doubt there will soon be an open line which allows children to report their parents, or anyone else for that matter, to the climate police for transgressions such as leaving a light on or a window open, or even more sinister, thinking the wrong thoughts about global warming. After all we are already pretty much at this point about race and gender aren’t we.

I’ve got a saucepan of mulled wine bubbling away on top of my log burner and I’m prodding the glowing embers and sitting here thinking.
It’s New Year’s Eve and it’s always a time of reflection, introspection and decision making. I’ve got a huge decision to make in the next few minutes.
Do I watch Craig David on BBC1, who couldn’t sing if his life depended on it.
There’s Jools Holland on BBC2…as he has been for decades or there’s Alan Carr on ITV…he’s about as amusing as a wart on your arris.
Or, on the other hand, do I just top up my saucepan and get quietly pissed.
Decisions, decisions…
Anyway have a happy and Brexity New Year!

We turned on the tv for midnight. The BBC with all its bias just seems to lack imagination. Both BBC1 and BBC2 were aimed at who? In the few minutes we saw Craig David said he has been in the business since 2003 so not then aimed at the kids who are probably out partying. Jools had on Rick Astley whose hit was 1987 and then Stormzy. Between both programmes I guess the appeal would be for those arty metropolitan types who go to Glastonbury, ie BBC employees.
Please Boris stop the BBC gravy train soon. Your popularity will grow.
What did we do? Watch a Rumpole (ITV) circa 1970 from a boxed set. You can see John Mortimer’s political leanings, but only just.

Agree . If Boris wants to retain the culture and heritage of these islands the first step will be to neutralise the BBC. By decriminalising non payment of the LF and forcing the BBC to work hard to get the money from those who refuse to pay we , the people, will soon have the BBC begging to be allowed to become a subscription only service. The political capital that Boris will have to spend to do it this way will be small in comparison to the cost of a top down ban. Boris give the people the tools and they will slay the beast for you.

The decision to have Craig David “Rock In The New Year” not only contradicted advertising standards but was also a decision of the “meh” variety. He never really “was” in the first place and unlike Rick Astley over on Joolz Holland he hasn’t been subject to a renaissance either.
I didn’t watch but my guess is that his management have “ensured” (cough) he gets onto the BBC as he more than likely has an album to plug. It reminds me of the two singers from the Beautiful South who were all over tv and radio (especially the BB ) a few years back as they plugged their new career. That was summed up by their most high profile appearance at a gig at Edinburgh Castle in which the winners were the mist and drizzle that adversely affected both the atmosphere of the gig and the television broadcast itself. The word Karma sprung to mind and I don’t think their career reboot went anywhere after this either.

It’s a given that that sort of stuff is utter rubbish, Brissles, a sort of noisy, unwanted graffiti!
Thinking of not much yesterday, I was trying to work out exactly what ‘R and B’ really means now. I started to learn about music in the sixties, and The Rolling Stones were, I suppose, a good example, but ‘The Blues’, was a different genre/age, and the rhythm bit just made it more palatable to kids like me, who probably weren’t that interested in understanding all that, having better things to do!
John Peel was far too way out for me, although Radio London was a must-listen-to down here in Sussex/Kent, and it was on too late for me anyway, so I must have missed out on all that!

Scrob, back in the day (60’s) and living in Thanet, it was Radio Invicta that fed our pop music appetite. London was a 2 hour train ride away where it was all ‘happening’, and took even longer on our Lambretta scooters !!! so we had to make do with bopping at Dreamland Margate at the weekends – to music that was danceable and understandable !! 🙂 Happy days, and don’t get me started on New Year’s Eve when it was a free for all snogging session on the dance floor at midnight. This ‘Me Too’ generation would have a touch of the vapours if they could see what granny and grandad got up to back then !

Happy New Year to all of you. I’m looking forward to reading all your posts through 2020.
Now straight back to the reason we are all on here . The BBBC set the bar high straightaway in 2020 with a news headline article…What’s it like to be a black traveller ? I’m sure they must have people there dreaming up this stuff just to annoy the likes of us.
You’ll also note that the most popular recording artists of 2019 are in the main white males. Lewis Capaldi Ed Sheeran (Born in fax) Rod Stewart etc…not a sign of Windy or whatever he is called. Again BBC pushing on us with our money acts we don’t subscribe too. How many listeners to Radio One Extra actually have a TV licence ????
Like my mate says (he has his own garage) he used to look forward to listening to Radio 4 great documentrys , plays and debates now it’s just left wing agenda and he no longer listens.
Hopefully during 2020 someone will fathom that there is a massive market for intelligent non Marxist radio and TV out there with all the attendant advertising streams……which brings me onto the adverts at which point I’ll just say that the white man is extinct in TV and Cinema advertising.
So as a rule of thumb and this is my new year resolution, it is for me not to spend any money with an organisation that does see my sexuality, colour or gender as thier target market.
Have a great New Year my friends.

I’ve been doing the same for a while too, unfortunately as time passes I’ve found that there are fewer and fewer places to shop! Sainsbury’s got the chop last September ish the day I watched a glum faced employee putting up Pride bunting. I have shopped there since but only for their loss leading lunchtime meal deals when I buy the most expensive sandwich, most expensive snack and most expensive drink for £3 and hopefully leave them out of pocket. I certainly won’t entertain a Renault in the family after their highly sexualised lesbian Clio advert, it’s probably easier to list the products I can buy (Toffifee sweets and a front door from Solidor.com) than the ones I can’t because the ad agency are pushing an agenda. All this being said there are signs that times are a changing.

Mrs O’Blene gave me a personal DVD player for Christmas, so that I can watch ‘Minder’ in peace!
But as last night’s TV was – as to be expected, pretty dire, we wallowed in ‘Foyles War’ (ITV of course), and those earlier stories were really outstanding!
By then it was too late to watch ‘Arfur’, so it was curtains, except for the blasted fireworks, which luckily don’t affect JRT, as she can’t be arsed to stay up either!

Now, I may be wrong but isn’t Africa a very large continent with vast underground resources? If that IS the case then why is it that so many African people do not wish to stay put and use their ingenuity to exploit those resources for the benefit of themselves and all who live there? Is it that so many people there live in fear for their lives and feel that for the sake of themselves and their offspring, they must get out, or is it that it would be much easier to risk coming to the European continent and exploiting what the white people have built? I cannot help but feel that if Africa had been populated by white people from day one, then the whole continent would today be a far more prosperous place. I certainly disagree with the sentiment that OUR people are “enriched” by a large influx from the African continent. My personal opinion is that it is THEY who are enriched at the white man’s expense and the whites have become a soft touch. Does all that make me a “racist”? I would suggest that I am no more racist than the average black person.Oh, I forgot. It is impossible for a black person to be a racist. What better justification could there be for BREXIT??

The Africans have corrupt governments that sell all the minerals to China and pocket the proceeds for themselves. (That may be an over-simplification but there is truth in it.)

I have taken a nice break from posting as been busy with work and also since the election I no longer fear the BBC trying to get Labour in power but no doubt they will be up to their old tricks through the next decade until they get crushed for good!
Nearly a decade of Tory rule and they must hate it. I remember ten years ago some of them where talking about the GE and it was becoming clear that Labour would lose and there would always be someone chirping in that ‘Labour can still turn things around at this stage surely’
I always remember that…

Morning all and HNY.
Rather late up this morning but caught a sliver of …was it the end of Toady…at around 0850. The BBC news editors… Kuennsberg, Adler et al were in party mood patting each other on the back. But there were a couple of telling moments noted admittedly through my hangover fug.
1. There will be relentless attacks from the BBC on each and every example of where leaving the EU may be economically disadvantageous. It has still not penetrated their tiny brains that many voted to leave IN SPITE of economic interests. Freedom from the enslavement of the unelected unaccountable smug Brussels bureaucracy was the issue, not whether a trade deal with Outer Mongolia will leave toenail clipper distributors worse off.
2. I think it was Katya Adler who advised in terms that the role of the reporter was solely to shit stir. No mention of any kind of balance. Just hold the government to account for each and every thing that might go wrong. And thats it. The nation may be doing well but if they can find Mrs Ada Strobes of Weatherby having a bad time then she is the person the BBC will most tell us about.
In other words….New decade. Same old bias.

She could do a ‘Sopel’ and sarcastically comment on every Verhofstadt ‘tweet’ – wouldn’t that be fun?

Sluff, maybe we should remind the BBC at regular intervals about 39 dead – human – bodies imported into the UK from the EU in November 2019?

Oh my god, I switched on R4 by mistake and this is what I caught
“imagine a feminist foreign policy that takes into account environmental issues – no more war and poverty.. blah..’ Followed by a gushing presenter thanking all of her lady friends for their views
I have no idea what I caught the end of but it really is the same old BBC…….

Not Londonistan but Milton Keynes. Close enough but probably not on the Londonistan stabbings tally.

“Despite……(no, no, no, not what you think!) Despite the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 which was designed to deal with knife crime and corrosive substances et al.
A classic example of legislation that will criminalise virtually everyone owning a knife or perhaps serious drain un-blocking solutions kept in the home. Previous legislation, for offensive weapons, used to apply to anybody, ‘carrying’ in a Public Place but that’s all gone now. The 2019 Act now applies to a Private Place.

Just suppose that like the police in the TR situation where they were no doubt instructed to, literally, ‘throw the book at him and go out of their way to find illegal activities or possessions’, they can. Even for you and me – if they are minded or instructed to. Another reason to beat the door down if I’m not mistaken.
Let’s face it, Communism can be replaced anytime by the more onerous “Democracy” at the whim of, of, of?
More, ‘dicing and slicing’ of the private citizen.

At this time of year , spare a thought for comrade Corbyn and other sad creatures such as Anna Sourface Soubry . Although winning the argument , Comrade Corbyn through no fault of his own lost not only so many Labour seats but the likes of Chukka, Joe Swinson and poor old Anna`s as well .
You could alleviate Comrade Jeremy`s suffering by just spending £3 to join Labour/Momentum . This would allow him to say that the Party is the biggest in the universe and The Many endorse his policies .
But if you`re already suffering from The Few`s evil policies and Brexit other donations however small help . Ten pence buys a bag to put over Emily Thornbury`s head . A pound means we can buy crayons to colour it in , like the English flag .
A few pounds can buy Sarah Woolaston a compass , so she knows which direction she`s going in (her careers gone west anyway ) .
Give what you can and remember Labour is for you , the ordinary university lecturer and celebrities on the BBC .

Under election law, should Labour not disclose their £3.6bn donation in kind from the BBC.

Happy New Year and it’s nice to see people thinking of those less fortunate – like members of the Labour Party . There seems plenty of twitter activity of wags saying they are joining the Labour Party to get Becky Wrong Daily elected next leader .
In the end those who did the same for comrade Jeremy – currently attending to his allotment – have had their wise investment repaid many times over .
Anyone listen to Toady ? Not me . I’m sure they’ll be doing ‘ specials ‘ in the lead up to our glorious brexit busily pointing out all the benefits of being an independent country again – or actually just carrying on the unquestioning support for the Remainers through the SNP .
As for joining the Labour Party ? Never . I could never be associated with such a vile lot . As I write this I’m trying to think of a decent labour MP . Really can’t think of one now that the likes of Flint and Hoey have gone . Sad that .

Meanwhile
Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbots son has been charged with 11 – eleven – offences involving assaults on NHS staff in 3 hospitals and an indecent exposure – crimes which apparently happened over a number of weeks .
Details in the daily mail – so that’s what a public school education does ….

So all those insane elites like David Merritt the father of the murdered Cambridge loon who thought that all the wrong doers needed was a priviledged upbringing like they had are proven wrong, as Abbotts son returned to type.
She claimed she sent him to public school because she didn’t want him getting in with the wrong crowd – seems he could manage that all on his own.

Thoughtful, “the murdered Cambridge loon” – that’s a bit unfair on Jack Merritt. He was, at least, trying to help repair some damage inflicted on his nation by politicians.
“insane elites like David Merritt” and there I think you are being far too kind to a man who shamelessly exploited the death of his son for the benefit of the Labour Party during a General Election.

Did anyone listen to the soundtrack chosen for the Londonistan fireworks last night? Noticed the “London is open” exclamation yet again, followed by a “song” involving (C)rap lyrics in a heavy West Indies accent listing a number of places, including Jamaica, then going on to say “Come back to London….London is the place for me”.
No doubt chosen by the London bubble dwellers, inviting the invaders on behalf of the British taxpayers.

It makes you understand why the national socialists up north want independence. We switched over to Freeview Red Button Channel 601. Although the main presenter was a lesbian, all the presenters and acts (including the much better quality music of Travis) where hideously White. And the music used with the fireworks was much more hideously civilised as well. I was qualified to watch the program because of evidence of Scottish blood in my Yorkshire family, obtained from granny in the 1960’s showing me a photo of her grandfather in a Kilt.

Dys:
You may have noticed the music included the White Stripes tune now more commonly sung as “Oh Jeremy Corbyn”.
Why was that?
Was it passed by the Emir? Did he expect a Labour victory and wanted to suck up to Comrade Number One? Or was he putting two fingers up to Boris?
Whatever it was, you can be sure that this did not happen by accident. Luckily, almost everyone in the crowd seems to have been a foreign tourist, so it went right over their heads.

Festive celebrations continue with tonight’s ‘Christmas University Challenge’ in which two teams of unknown and, on the evidence to date, largely uneducated non-entities from the BBC/Guardian/Independent Axis are each provided with six minutes of superfluous and pointless eulogy, initially from Paxman before being allowed to repeat themselves individually.
Taking the credits and this introductory time out of the equation leaves just 22 minutes of actual quizzing – a continuation of the cost cutting formula evidently in place to protect all those ‘market rate’ salaries.

Strange really that BBC ‘stars ‘ are allowed to voice their views so publicly for money – and goes against the ‘must be doing something right ‘ doctrine always used when attacked by the right and left .
I think , strangely , the left attacks the BBC to defend it – in response to accurate hits from the likes of us .
As for what Boris does – I think he will land up being led by events – some foreseeable and others not rather than the drive based on a ‘policy ‘

BBC lunchtime news.
Reports on new year speeches from Boris and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
No mention of Steptoes revolutionary crusade.
Boris : “I know that many of you do not consider yourself natural Tories and may only have lent me your vote. I am humbled by your support and will work every day to keep it. I am also acutely aware that there are millions of people who did not vote for me and were disappointed by the result.
“If you are one of them, I want to reassure you that I will be a prime minister for everyone, not just those who voted for me. I know that you love this country no less, simply because you voted for another party or wanted to remain.”
Justin Welby is expected to call for the UK to “start healing some of the divisions that we’ve seen over recent years”, in his new year message.
Corbyn- : “We’re up for the fight, to protect what we hold dear and to build to win and to transform.
“The fight continues – there is no other choice.”“It won’t be easy. But we have built a movement, we are the resistance to Boris Johnson. We will be campaigning every day, we will be on the frontline, both in Parliament and on the streets.”

I watched the 2 minute rant from Comrade Corbyn and was left with no doubt that this character is nothing more than a campaigner who has a need not to win . To always have a ‘ fight ‘ .
He has done Britain a great service and it would be just as good if his successor has the same attitude .
No wonder the BBC likes him so much as they campaign for their favourite causes as well.
