60 million years ago it was probably a bit warm …….perhaps that’s when Global Warming started , of course it could well have been the dinosaurs giving off all that methane and imagine the huge piles of crap …would have been good for tomatoes though ! . As we all know as sensible people climate change is an ongoing cycle

I did a quick wicki to find out what causes ice ages ? It seems they don’t know – but it says the planet switches between ice age and no glaciers.

I’m up for reducing hydrocarbon use to undermine our enemies in the Middle East but the rest of it is just froth . We aren’t very good about geological timescales ….

The tilt of the Earth on its axis is one factor, as is the distance of the Earth from the Sun which can vary. Perihelion – the closest we come to the sun was Yesterday around 14:20. This means for us a milder Winter, for those in the Southern Hemisphere a warmer Summer.

The output of the sun can make a difference, especially the frequency of light which the Earth can absorb.

Add into this mix the volcanic activity, and a cataclysmic meteor or comet strike and you have a recipe for snowball Earth.

Once the planets albedo changes (the amount of solar activity reflected back into space) then it’s a kind of chain reaction which becomes difficult to stop.

Fed, I’ve noticed some interesting trends on what the BBC put out to us the listening (and viewing, if so minded) public.

There’s a new narrative that I’ve heard on radio on different days and different programmes (and types of programme) recently and it is about the end of the (last) Ice Age, the proper one, not the more recent Little Ice Age. It is this: at the end of the Ice Age there was sea level rise. (Warming = Sea Level Rise an absolute necessity in the minds of AGW/CC believers.) Have they been saying this on TV programmes as well?

Except I’ve always been taught and understood that at the end of the Ice Age, sea levels fell, cutting off various parts of the land of this planet from others, notably the UK and its islands from continental Europe for example, and enabling humans to spread out over the planet.

They cannot have it both ways.

      But the BBC are trying.

      The BBC are very trying.

The kidults running the BBC see all things Green as good without question . And all things muslim good without question . And obviously anything it badges as ‘ right ‘ being bad without question .

And we seem stuck with that . The cause ? Is it the result of the ‘ do anything 1960s?’ or something else .

It’s a question which I suppose only people within the bubble can answer .

Sometimes I think it’s just a matter of BBC staff competing to be more with their internal view than the next hack .

The propaganda thing is the interesting bit though. Sometimes it is sown a long way out.

For example, ever since the EU Referendum in 2016, the BBC have been deliberately overlooking (along with the Labour Party and many of its spokespersons) the fact that it was counted and the result attributed on a UK wide basis, not on a national ‘home nations’ basis. Today, we have the fulfilment with Sneerleader Mardell taking a poke at Englishness.

And the BBC have the cheek to complain about ‘divisiveness’ and the divisiveness of some politicians and political groups or Parties.

          Hypocrites!

The £145 licence fee is one thing
but every time you connect a new gas power station electricity flows into the grid at £40/MWh
and every time you connect a greendream power like new wind/solar power stations into the grid the get priority market access and about £120/MWh, thus increasing the general pool cost of electrcity.
Thus an NHS ward pays more for electricity, so will have to CUT something like nursing hours to pay for it.
And the same for every product/service granny pays for whether direct/ via government or via charity.

I was puzzled by this passage in a previous comment (Up2Snuff): “at the end of the Ice Age, sea levels fell, cutting off various parts of the land of this planet from others, notably the UK and its islands from continental Europe for example…”. I had read somewhere that melting ice has apparently paradoxical or unexpected effects & wondered whether this might be an example.

The BBC’s readiness for a ‘leading and world-class news organisation’ (as they would, no doubt, like to claim) to be credulous over the Qasem Soleimani killing is somewhat reminiscent of the Skripal poisoning nearly two years ago.

As others on here have pointed out, no questions have been asked about why Soleimani was visiting Lebanon and then Iraq.

Here’s another suggestion; while the BBC like to play up Soleimani’s importance (rather easily dismantled by a more realistic and questioning Alexander on the TheDuran video put up by Old Goat on this Thread yesterday) there’s no doubt about his ability as a disrupter, terroriser and mischief maker. Am surprised the BBC have not likened him to President Trump in that respect.

Here’s something else we know about Lebanon: it is home to a large number of Palestinians in one of the largest refugee camps in the world. It is also home to Hezbollah.

Here’s some names from elsewhere, names from the past: Black September, Fatah and Hamas. Add in the PLO and PA (Palestinian Authority – West Bank) and it becomes apparent that fracturing the operation of terror groups by the West in conjunction with the Israelis has helped to maintain, with the exception of Iraq, Syria and Yemen, a fair amount of peace – Gaza intifadas notwithstanding – in Israel and the countries surrounding Israel.

It was noticeable on the BBC R4 News @ 7a.m. today that crowds in Iran and elsewhere were stirred up to chant not only “Death to America” but also “Death to Israel”. I noted that Alexander on that TheDuran video mentioned the meaning of Al Quds/Kuds – the Arabic name for Jerusalem. Could it be that Mr Qasem was making a move to broker some unity among the various Palestinian and terrorist groups, both current and of old, in order to attack Israel and that was the reason for taking him out?

Jeremy Bowen has been noticeably unquestioning and very uninformative as a very highly paid BBC reporter based in the region and with all sorts of journalistic contacts built up over many years.

Just a few minutes of searching with the help of Wiki (usual disclaimers) revealed this to me this afternoon:
” According to a 1993 report by the British National Criminal Intelligence Service, the PLO was “the richest of all terrorist organizations”, with $8–$10 billion in assets and an annual income of $1.5–$2 billion from “donations, extortion, payoffs, illegal arms dealing, drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud, etc.”. ”

    Ho hum.

The other omission seems to be reporting the response of Iranian fans protesting in Londonistan …
But should we be surprised about that – goes against the BBC nonsense doctrine of ‘ all in it together ‘ – until another Muslim murderer stops the traffic on London Bridge . Again .

‘Iranian fans’, Fed? Do you mean the Iranians who are pleased to see the back of Mr Qasem?

To be fair to the Beeb, they have mentioned it on R4 in the news and I think even the BBC’s new Chief Sneerleader, Mark Mardell, now that Eddie Mair has left, made reference to it on TWiTWee this lunchtime.

No it was the ‘ death to America – death to Israel – death to Blighty ‘ fan club -the enemy literally in our midst . And if it all goes really bandy and gonna need a bit of ‘ Preventive detention ‘ ….

I heard Mardell sneer about the 52 targets – to me it seems completely rational because the Embassy siege in 1979 left a deep scar – which needs to be squared up sooner and later .

Fed, yes, I noticed that with some amusement. The White House has a better memory than the BBC! I have said in the past, probably on here as well as to American friends who are staunch Republicans, that I think Jimmy Carter was the best US President in modern times that America never knew it had. And it was Carter – a Democrat – who had his re-election chances scuppered by the failure of a military rescue mission for those Embassy hostages.

It could be said, too, that the UK has some ‘unfinished business’ with Iran over various ‘events’.

Nothing on the BBC at this time, but I expect them to claim the motive is ‘unclear’ and that the attacker was a lone wolf with mental health issues!

If this has already been remarked upon, then apologies. But it was reported yesterday that………

there are now well over 3million Muslims in this country, and (as if we didn’t know) Islam is the fastest growing faith group, and Christianity numbers are in decline (this is scary).

Of course we all know why, its the birth rate: but equally helping migrants to scramble up our beaches in their thousands doesn’t help either.

and now you are endorsing wasting CO2 to make such a tool
Never mind that you have to waste CO2 buy making a campfire to make use of it.

FFS you don’t need a special tool , you can toast them on a sharp stick.
And personally, I can’t be bothered , I just open my mouth and each them cold.

Countryfile reporter tests six pronged fork but gets distracted. Six marshmallows start to burn and fall off fork into fire.

      Oh dear.

‘NetZero’ marshmallows with which to make Somemores.

      How sad.

Some tasty extra ‘Carbon’ for the camp fire to enjoy.

      Never mind.

PS: Eat them cold? You’ve obviously never had Somemores. 🙂 Yummm!

I don’t think Israel will be happy about that? Neither will the USA .
There may be more behind the recent activities than we are fully aware of ?
I hope that our domestic military Intelligence agencies are keeping an eye on any enemy activity on our shores ? I think we are in for a bumpy ride.

Amazing how apparently quite important topics once raised, disappear from the public’s view. Take last year, was it October? I don’t remember but we heard that due to the state of the finances of the UN as a result of, countries not paying their due’s, the organisation would likely go bust. Excellent! I remember thinking at the time. Then, Mark Carney’s contract is up and I don’t know whether he has left yet or anything about his future plans. Now I know. He is set to take up a role with …………with………..the UN, as,
their climate ambassador. As usual, a nice short pithy explanation of this and other things ‘Climate’ by ‘Friends of Science’ –

Enjoy a short weep as the Carney Globalist moneymaking bandwagon goes on its merry way . Taking us all downhill.
