Midweek Thread 22 January 2020

With Anthony Hall (director general)leaving the Biased BBC earlier than expected it increases the hope that the new government really is going to take on the bloated broadcaster. Maybe it will kill off the licence tax – or at least give notice that it will be ending soon . We can but hope .

Regarding Trump at Davos and his attack on the Climate Change myth.

The BBC have within hours dropped the Davos headline in favour of the contrived Impeachment saga.

BBC head in sand. They really, really must be put down and therefore put us all out of OUR misery.

We are headed to an ice age.

We should use hydrocarbons for transport, as its is the best option. The resulting CO2 in the atmosphere, will increase plant growth, and the associated creatures from the microscopic up.

Ice ages are great extinction events. Life/nature being life, it will try its best to ensure its survival. With help from us, a more populous planet with enhanced oxygen in the atmosphere,
we might just invent our way out from the oncoming ice age.

At the least, we gain time to come up with engineering solutions, working with nature.

It has to be said, that the influx of Muslims over the past twenty five years and more has and is causing a complete destabilization of the whole of Europe and of its territories. The massive financial power of the Traffickers gained from the money they accumulate from the migrants and other areas is able to facilitate the movement of Muslim peoples throughout Europe and elsewhere, and will seemingly continue on its course unabated. The unprecedented influx of illegal immigrants into Europe, mainly from the Islamic world including Africa, Middle East, and Indian sub-continent has and is continuing to create international headlines. Sweden is currently receiving about 1,000 asylum seekers per day, sometimes more than that. If that inflow continues, this would mean more than 3.6 million asylum seekers to Sweden in just one decade. In reality, family reunions will make this number much larger. Small European nations cannot handle such immigration numbers for very long. Every nation, state and government has to be able to control its borders. The state and independence begins and ends with control of the borders.each asylum seeker or refugee tends to bring an additional four to six immigrants: parents, children or wives. In reality, one million immigrants could therefore turn out to be five million, when all is said and done. That is merely the result of one year of mass immigration. If current trends continue, Germany for example could end up with 20 million inhabitants from Africa and the Middle East a couple of decades from now.The current birth explosion in the African continent and over the next 30 yrs, could add another 2 billion people-each asylum seeker or refugee tends to bring an additional four to six immigrants: parents, children or wives. In reality, one million immigrants could therefore turn out to be five million, when all is said and done. That is merely the result of one year of mass immigration. If current trends continue, Germany could end up with 20 million inhabitants from Africa and the Middle East a couple of decades from now. The current population of the entire European Union is just over 500 million people. It is estimated that Africa’s population will grow by more than twice that much, in less than two generations. Where are these people supposed to live? Will they have water, food and work at home. Those questions should be squarely aimed at those countries leaders.
With such gowth in population over the next 30 years or so throughout will mean that what we have seen so far is only the beginning. Even the EU and the UN are gradually admitting this. The current migration flows of Muslims and of African people generally will represent a long-term trend, not a temporary crisis. If these hordes of illegal immigrants are not stopped and sent back, this could cause European societies to collapse.
These words from another essay provide what should be the answer: If civil war is to be prevented in Europe as a consequence of mass migration, all EU countries must mount a massive naval operation to forestall the landing of African migrants in Italy, Greece, and other southern European nations. This can be done quite effectively by first obliterating the boats used by the Muslim people smugglers. Special prow attachments can be placed on warships which will enable them to safely push migrant boats back to Libyan shores. If the EU does not stop this flow of Africans now, it will lead to the inevitable civil war which will determine if European civilization is to survive.

As I’ve said before, if Pres Trump fails , the West is finished. It will be civil war which will destroy the West, win or lose.

Some good points but don’t forget that the growth in African populations is driven by Western Aid ensuring that children survive childhood. These children grow up with no opportunities for employment in their own countries so travel to the West. Stop the aid and make Africans responsible for their own.

    .. I say “Tom it’s a scam, did you download anything ?”
“No” .. I check the Browser history and yep there was a RemoteDesktop app downloaded
Tom explained “Yeh we had a hard time cos the computer security kept blocking this”

According to the US constitution, the president may be impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanours”.

Congress has charged President Trump with “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress”. You will not find either of these charges listed as crimes in the American legal system. All President Trump is charged with is, in effect, having been elected. To the Democrat controlled Congress, everything he does is an abuse of power or an obstruction to them.

The Democrat controlled Congress have clearly abused the impeachment process for purely partisan ends. They have charged the president with two “crimes” which are simply not crimes on any statute book. The trial in the Senate should last about five minutes, if that.

Don’t expect Jon Sopel to mention any of this, of course.

          Rob in Cheshire

Democrats in Congress are correct. “Obstruction of Congress” is true as Pres Trump refused to cooperate with Congress to convict himself. Guilty as charged.

OTH, there is the small matter of the Fifth Amendment. The Fifth Amendment protects the accused from being forced to incriminate themselves in a crime. So the Democrats in Congress are in violation of the Fifth Amendment. Pres Trump cannot be accused of “Obstruction of justice”, even if it was true.

Democrat Congress are in violation of the Sixth Amendment too.

But they dont care. They are out to burn the constitution if they can stop Pres Trump.

So what is so important that burning America to the ground is justified.

The US constitution states that a president may be impeached for “high crimes and misdemeanours”.

The House of Representatives had charged President Trump with “abuse of power” and “obstruction of Congress”, neither of which are crimes in the American legal system.

The charges are false and partisan. The trial in the Senate should take no more than five minutes. The only charge the Democrat House really has against President Trump is that he was elected instead of Hillary Clinton. They wasted two years and millions of dollars trying to “prove” Russian collusion, and could not. Then a conveniently placed CIA operative in the White House claims he heard a version of the phone call between President Trump and the President of Ukraine, and within weeks the president is impeached!

If you don’t believe in the Deep State now, you never will. Just don’t expect to hear Jon Sopel mention it, ever.

I sgree – the bitter sounding ‘James Robbins ‘ obviously hates President Trump even more than comrades Sopel and Bryant . If Mr Trump is re elected in 10 months time those BBC types will go into full despair mode – and the democrats will try to impeach him for a second time .

I think they resent that America isn’t a nanny state like the UK . America doesn’t like being told what to do – particularly by a mentally affected 16 year old mouthpiece for a frankly mad ecology movement .

In my view the cult of the 16 year old , which the BBC embraces without question , is putting that cause back as people suffer the financial ( tax ) consequences of the ridiculous climate ‘emergency ‘ hysteria.

Apart from being true – it shows thar not much has changed – apart from the ever far leftward drift and exclusion of any other view apart from that approved by BBC group think – or ‘cognitive diversity ‘ as it is called in posh speak …

But it was heartening to see that one remedy suggested by mr Cummings was for Conservative ministers to boycott the Today programme – a policy which thankfully is now in place – and if you notice – the presenters don’t mention this – it must be an editorial order because the BBC is so nervous about the licence review in 2022 – at least we know the licence tax is more likely to be ended than increased . You’ve just got to just love the sense of self-importance in this nonsense. Imagine the scene: Ms Nandy is wandering around Westminster, copies of the Guardian and Radio Times in her hand, trying to think of something to be offended by. Suddenly, a voice in the shadows says ‘Pssst!’. Ms Nandy looks around: it’s Boris and key members of the cabinet. “Lisa” he says, “Don’t tell anybody, but we’re cancelling equal pay, maternity leave and holiday pay next year. But it’s secret.” Ms Nandy is non-plussed – she was expecting this all along as soon as she announced she was running for the Labour Party leadership. “Can I tweet about it?” she asks. “Oh, sure. Nobody reads your tweets. Just don’t let that Emily Mateless find out about it, okay. You know what she’s like…”. “I certainly do”, giggles Ms Nandy, almost appearing human for once.

Alison Pearson has written an excellent, heartfelt piece in today’s Telegraph: “The grooming gang cover-up is Britain’s real racism scandal”.
In it, she damns BBC’s Question Time last week for debating alleged racism regarding a privileged member of the Royal family while ignoring the mass rape of poor, young white kids by Manchester Pakistani gangs.
Let’s see whether the rape gangs cover-up – and growing calls for a full public inquiry into that disgusting stitch up involving police, councils and community leaders (and even the BBC’s own lack of scrutiny) – manages to make it through the Question Time filter this week.

TOADY Watch #1 – Boy George is on and interviewed by Mishal

Boy Gideon→George, that is. “When I was Chancellor I tried to argue for a tax on the internet/new tech companies”

BoyGG: “It is much better to be part of a big trading bloc than to stand alone against a huge economy like the United States. It is better to be inside, making the rules as I argued at the time of the Referendum.”

Our Mishal is not intelligent enough or quick enough to spot the obvious contradiction there. Mind you, saying so would not suit the BBC narrative that ‘The EU is wonderful. The UK should really stay in.’

BoyGG really dropped himself in it as well. And we used to think you were the one with all the brains in the DynamicDuo. Now you know, BoyGG, why some/many of us voted to leave the EU.

TOADY Watch #3 – The Northern Powerhouse

The BBC demonstrate that they do not ‘do’ geography or transport. (They just charge it on expenses, like the ‘jolly’ to Davos, eh Mishal?) They are in the Tees Valley.

Talk is something like ‘Why should an international investor or executive fly to London and on to Manchester and then take a grindingly slow train to Redcar?’

Er, because they do not know there is an airport at Newcastle and an excellent rail line from Newcastle going south?

    • Woolwich says:

The irony here being that many people who live up here in the North East don’t even know about Tees Valley airport themselves! It’s NEVER featured as a start or end point for any flight I’ve ever considered taking. So how on earth the BBC managed to wash up there as opposed to NEWCASTLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is anyone’s guess.
The links between Newcastle and London are excellent, you can get a train that does it in three hours or daily flights which are great for meetings in the Heathrow airports. It’s the links from the North East to the North West that need fixing, I can get from my house near Newcastle to London more quickly and in more comfort than I can get to the much closer Manchester, that service is little more than a glorified tube train.

Exactly. The “all roads lead to London” mentality must end. HS2 is just a £106 billion example of this. If I need to get to London it is not a problem, just two hours by train. It is transport across the north which needs major investment.

Random musings on the last nights blipvert viewing of the BBC.
A continuity announcer talking about a programme examining the effect of “our increasing world population”. Forget my immediate thought that perhaps a Logan’s Run style execution of everyone over 30 is the answer, but “our”? I’m pretty sure that UK birth rates are at their lowest, any increase in population isn’t of “our” doing.
Then Davos. Only the BBC could lead by criticising America, oops sorry Trump, for their CO2 emissions………..and then say that they’re second behind China. I forget the actual figures but their contribution to the world totals are something like 14% vs 27%. That’s a distant second in anyone’s books. Our contribution? 1.1%. Seriously why are we even discussing it? Even IF CO2 is the problem, and it’s a jolly big IF, if we literally went back to the Stone Age tomorrow in this country the effect would be virtually nil. But did the BBC spot or comment about this or did they St Greta…

She has no ‘gravitas’ and sounds and looks like a nursery school teacher. I don’t much like any of the potential candidates, but I suppose Keir Starmer would be the more statesman like figure than his opponents.

Where have the politicians of yesteryear gone ? we had smart, articulate characters with ‘personality’, they had good debating skills and carried themselves with a statesmen like posture. Can anyone imagine – if she laughably became PM, see her take a serious role in world affairs, because that’s want we want in our MPs and future Prime Ministers. Like I said, a nice enough lady, but having the cut and thrust of taking on the PM at the despatch box ? no.

Sluff, to be fair it is all very complex. In a way, us generalists who have had a bit (or more) of a scientific education and who remember BBC ‘inform & educate’ when they did it thoroughly and without their biases in the good old days and learned stuff from Armand, Michaela, Jacques-Yves, Davids Attenborough and Bellamy (in their youth – before AGW), we have a bit of an advantage.

We can sit on the side and point out a conflict of evidence and ask awkward questions. You were in a Bradlee moment and right in a way. Why do they do it? Many reasons, two main ones?

It is on one hand because a disparate group of mostly well-meaning people have been infiltrated by anarcho/Communists to wreck firstly the US economy but also every other developed and developing economy in the world. I suspected this early on. (Should have written a book. Would anyone have published it, let alone read it?)

I suspected that the Communists (and Anarcho variants) were hiding in the Green movement before Berlin Wall came down. As soon as Major & Lamont introduced the Fuel Duty Escalator in 1992, I knew for certain. Why attack the motor car when electricity generation was a far greater polluter? (OK they are not Communists but wanted to burnish the Conservative image with ‘Green’ while re-filling the BoEngland coffers after Black Wednesday without taxing the wealthy and high earners.)

We have seen this fiscal progression since the 1980s: attack oil, the motorist, then flying and only later turn to electricity and attack nuclear & promote wind turbines. Why? Who produces oil, cars & airplanes in big numbers and uses nuclear for electricity in a big way? The USA.

When the US became a net oil importer the attention switched from pollution to ‘peak oil’ scares. Now they’re self-sufficient & starting to export oil again, the attack switches now to fracking. Bit of a give-away. Apparently, some (many?) in the Green movement are now attacking ‘green’ and very renewable hydro-power. Who da thunked it? They really want to keep humankind in the dark as we head back to the Dark Ages.

This is the second big reason. Fascistic-Communism has done away with the Creator God. But it’s not easy post-Berlin 1989, to get people to believe in the communist god, ie. mankind. Capitalism and ‘the West’ won a massive victory, thanks in part to a heroic part of human nature that leads to endeavour. (If it helps, think Pilgrim’s Progress at this point.)

Instead let’s create worship of the planet and the natural world and also create a spirit of fear surrounding our home planet. Mankind is back to being a god again, that ol’ Genesis Chapter 3 temptation. 🙂 We can control the climate.

          Hah!

We tried to control the weather in the 1960s. The US & Russia & satellites threw trillions at it in today’s money and found they could not really do it apart from occasional successes with cloud seeding.

Don’t get me wrong: I’m something of a conservationist, very much a small ‘c’ conservative. I don’t think we should deliberately wreck the planet but the resources are here for us to use. As I pointed out somewhere this week, we can only care for the environment and the natural world from a position of affluence.

But that’s why the BBC and its journos all thoroughly believe the Climate Alarmists and write their pieces to a formula. The blind trying to lead people who may – just – have some eyesight left.

Up there ^ Doublethinker mentioned others who watch bbc shows and wonders how we manage to put up with it.
    Here’s the trick.

The bbc is a big joke now so when you watch it you play the bbc bingo game.
See how long it is before they mention global warming/cooling/climate change (whichever it is whilst watching)
    Spot all the bias.
See the presenters/guests and see how many boxes are ticked.
Listen for their fanatical adoration of all things islamickle.

Simply put, have a good laugh at how pathetic the bbc is and how its extreme pc wokeness is contaminating everything they do.

You can’t take the bbbc seriously any more so get the family to sit round any bbbc offering and play bbbc bingo. A point for every spot. (Have your calculator handy to tot up the scores)

Very true, that being said I do get a sickly feeling when I see who the guests are on The Graham Norton Show. It’s something I haven’t actually watched for years and just as an exercise I look on the Sky planner banner to check who’s on…..and go “no”. The One show isn’t quite so bad, but it’s not good by any stretch, only better by comparison of how low Graham Norton’s guests set that bar. Honourable mentions go to QI, Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You…..I’m wasting everyone’s time, honourable mentions go to ALL panel based comedy/quizzes with the possible exception of Would I Lie To You.

EG, haven’t watched in years but I do play that game with R5 Live. Add trans and mental health issues to the bingo card.

Although I do miss the BBC4 docs which were very good. If only you could watch them elsewhere

The ‘comedienne’ the BBC wheeled on for the Newsnight mutual bukkake session was on twitter subsequently decrying as invalid people who were commenting on BBC tripe examples they had seen… on twitter.

Such stupidity must take a lot of inbreeding.

I appreciate your suggested anger and health management techniques but surely there comes a point , sooner or later, in my case sooner, when you can’t stay calm and continue to see the funny side of things. Seriously the BBC winds me up within a very short time of switching on and the only way to stay calm is to switch off .

I have another game, involving switching through all the main channels and adding up the score: on how many, at a given time, is there a person of colour on the screen. The game used to have a name but now it is not called anything.

A really strange story breaking that the Saudi crown Prince MBS sent a corrupt viseo message to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos in order to hack his phone, which he did, and then gave / sold the photos of his affair to the national enquirer.

The motivation is alleged to be the Washingon Post owned by Bezos being critical over Jamal Khashoggi who was employed as a columnist prior to MBS having him murdered.

It would appear that the United Nations are handling the investigation and the announcement, which again appears strange, I don’t recall any similar kind of precident for this.

If it is true then it is further evidence of the moral corruption of this regime and those in the West who support it.

    Very odd indeed.

Prince Charles flies into Davos on a private jet generating 6 tons of needless CO2, and then virtue signals by driving to the conference in an electric Jaguar because he thinks no one will notice the private jet!
