Just to put another slant on the virus difficulty, here’s a post on the Wolf Street website which covers it tangentially while noting the huge downturn in the US economy.

As the saying goes, when the US sneezes, we all catch a cold:

    https://wolfstreet.com/2020/02/19/it-gets-surprisingly-ugly-us-freight-shipments-plunge-9-4-steepest-since-2009/

I’ll bet the racist far-left bbc aren’t even aware of this what with Soapy and Ratty Katty having to spend so much time on their nemesis President Trump.

We are all now reaping the bitter harvest of thirty years of liberalism , the eco loonies ripping up lawns, blocking roads , brining cities to a halt, the mass rape of young girls, the tearing down of statues and transgender nonsense are all examples of this. If a society allows people to break its laws, conventions and values with impunity , indeed actually encourages them to do so, it is well down the road to disintegration. This is of course exactly what the post modernist revolutionaries hoped would happen.
To many of us it has been obvious for many years that our society was under threat from liberalism. I suspect that millions of people felt the same but were bullied by the liberals in position of power to keep their fears to themselves. We can only hope that as the examples of where liberalism , or Wokism as it has now become, leads to get more and more outrageous and ridiculous, ordinary people will rise up and put an end to it.

Even if the ordinary people were to “rise up” Where do you think that the MSM, the judiciary and all the many Left/Liberal/Marxist political parties would throw their support. Yes, you got it!
You see mate, apparently, either the ordinary people are sheep who have been lead astray or they are Nazis. Either way they’ve gotta go.

        Exactly.
If a person had approached the Extinction Rebellion activists while they were digging up the lawns the other day, told them to stop and then attempted to wrestle a spade out of their hands, it would be that person getting arrested not the Extinction Rebellion group. It grieves me to think this but I’m pretty confident that’s how it would play out, and being fanciful it would possibly be followed by accusations of far rightism and a forensic examination by Extinction Rebellion of that persons Social Media and online history out of which “bad things” would be cherry picked and handed to the BBC to cut and paste as journalism

In the Sunderland echo yesterday there was a piece about a little boy who was beaten up by a gang of 20 youths two separate times.
His father went out looking for this gang and he had a baseball bat with him to frighten them (or maybe for his own protection)
He never got near them as one of them ran to a policeman who was nearby.

            You can guess what happened.

Yes, the police arrested the father, he was given a 1 year suspended sentence, fined and had to pay costs.
The police also said “the baseball bat has now been destroyed”

The message we get from this?

Let your children get beaten up because if you try to look after them you will be arrested and will end up with a criminal record.

    TalkRadio : topic grooming/raping gangs
.. presenter is the metrolib Cristo

His spin is “this is terrible it should be prosecuted as a hate crime”
And also said “I don’t want to hear conspiracy theories”
FFS there was a conspiracy not to prosecute
There are now prosecutions , but I bet the large proportion will never be prosecuted

IMHO the idea of Hate Crime is BS
    a crime is a crime
“Hate Crime regulation is a way of making justice unequal ie a white person gets jailed for longer than a BAME for the same crime”

He just said people say we shouldn’t call them Asian gangs
but said he kind of agrees , but it is the term he will continue to use.

AFAIK he was a regional prosecutor NOT national boss.
“former Chief Crown Prosecutor for North West England”

He claims the lack of prosecutions was due to lack of resources.
whereas most people say it was white administrators being afraid of being called racists.

I’m listening too, it’s horrendous. He scared listeners by saying he won’t tolerate any racist language, well no one wants to be accused of that so no ones going to ring in.
His first guest spent so long tip toeing around the subject talking about the wonderful Muslims she works with and saying that white men rape too that she never addressed the issue.
He’s talking about the gangs in the same terms as street gangs, they’re not, they’re not young villains they’re older men without criminal records forming something more akin to a dinner club.
He dismissed Tommy Robinson based solely on the contempt of court case, not the years of campaigning he did prior to that.
He’s trying so hard to say that it’s “ not every Muslim” that It’s coming out as “ it’s not any Muslim”
He’s praising the Pakistani police chief who raised awareness of the situation, I’ve never heard a white police chief get praised for arresting white people.
The whole thing is so deeply entrenched in SJW language and running scared from saying what can’t be said that it’s going nowhere or perhaps backwards.
We’re now listening to a man who was gang raped 50 years ago, tragic case, the men got off with it as was the case in the 70s but it was a gay rape and not relevant to the case under discussion and while dreadful you can’t view it with today’s lens.

      • Woolwich says:

It’s become a waste of time.
The producers prioritised two calls onto the show, both rape victims, neither related to the topic of the “Asian” rape gangs and one of them dated back 50 years. Yes if it’s cathartic to call the station to discuss then do it, but after 90 minutes the question of whether the mass scale rape (my words) should be termed a hate crime has not advanced an inch. Very poor work from the producers.
We now have an Asian man talking about a Male rape that happened 30 years ago, again not only not relevant but also highly serendipitous that they managed to find someone from an ethnic minority to discuss being raped by a white man. And in his opinion because it’s white on Asian then yes it is a hate crime. And yet we still no further on to seeing if it cuts the other way.
I haven’t taken to Cristo this week and this is a nail in the coffin. I’ll listen only to see how bad it gets.

Agreed I would not have listened if he’d not been doing grooming gangs.
Being a gay man from London, from an immigrant family “Hate Crime” is part of his wokemob bubbleworld vocabulary.
So instead of talking about the issue properly he wanted to make it about whether you classify it as a HATE CRIME.

FFS there are not 2 classes of crime
          – Black man robs a white man and gets 2 years
          – White man robs a black man and gets 4 years cos it’s classified as a hate crime.

That type of classifying makes the law racist
and means straight white males get longer sentences than BAME gays.

What you get is some autistic kid pulls my hat and the police do nothing
… then the autistic kid pulls a Muslim woman’s headscarf and 4 squad cars turn up and hauls him off for hate crime.

Rather each crime sentence should depend on it’s own total circumstance.

The briefest of mentions on last night’s local TV, that the Somerset Levels seem to be coping surprisingly well with the floods.
A couple of years back and the BBC was camped out, mikes at the ready, eager to find another customer ‘suffering from the Savage Cuts’ – but that was before the Environment Agency had been dragged kicking and screaming, fighting against the disastrous wildlife wipeout plan to dredge the local rivers.
No connection of course. We all know it’s climate change.

God, it gets utterly boring, whatever happens in this country, the government is always to blame – and that’s regardless of who’s in power. Flooding, Grenfell, terrorism, etc etc etc, and the cry of cuts cuts cuts is the rallying sound.

The NHS is in the state its in due to bad management at all levels. Who knows who gave the orders / advice at the Environment Agency to stop the dredging of the rivers. Who decided or advised to build housing estates on flood plains ?

Governments act on what advice is given by ‘specialist advisors’. But listening to every news item where blaming the government is de rigeur, from failing to bring cruise passengers home, to trying to get an American deported to face hit and run charges, is beyond tedious.

    • Beltane says:

Part of the problem was the EU classifying river silt as ‘toxic waste’ although it only exacerbated things, not least from selling off all the established bought and paid for dredging equipment. Long before this the university/liberalelite-driven and by definition impractical mania for ‘wildlife preservation’ overtook commonsense and the good practice of centuries – from the Roman occupation to the 16thC Dutch engineers – left banks untrimmed and bottoms ever more heavily silted, reducing river width and depth, leaving windfall and rotted trees to form partial blockages upstream (don’t for one moment fall for the Monbiot-Harrabin inspired garbage of ‘natural upstream damming to slow water flow’, that just spreads it sideways to form new courses). Basically it has been a total lack of management to our benefit, but dragonfly larvae and bank voles did OK.
Nothing against these, of course – who would dare? – but it’s a matter of precedence. That and the admitted idiocy of building on flood plains, tarmacking hundreds of acres of shopping estates and decking back gardens.

We land up with the ‘wind rush ‘ nonsense – the PM being directly responsible for anything that goes wrong in any hospital – or snowflake noises about whether politicians should go and play ‘tourist ‘ at the scene of flood , fire or other serious incident – as if it makes any difference .

It’s part of the harm done to blighty by socialist organisations such as the BBC.

The progressives are very scared of her along with the new Chancellor. The BBC will try along with their Guardian chums to break her. I think she can face them down if Boris does not weaken. They assume the Britons of Indian descent must be on their side. The whole lot of the progressive alliance is in a blue funk. Losing over Brexit and losing the GE. The country is moving from a pre revolutionary state into one where it will rapidly force through significant changes. The government although unwilling is not going to be able to resist. Boris and his chums do not seem to understand that their grip on power is conditional on delivering the next stage of our counter revolution.
The last 50- 70 years has seen the ascent of the unreal into the norm of political discourse. It has enabled the fantasists of the left to indulge their dream of remaking reality to fit their view of the future. Of remaking us the people of this old country to fit some mould of what can only be described as an offence against reality itself.
We will restore the bond between past present and future generations which is always the basis of what constitutes a nation. Time to choose sides and your friends wisely.

There is no way the BBC will push upward in the quality of its’ output – particularly now that we know policy is to address the needs of under 35 kidults .

I get the impression that the ‘ regular ‘ output such as Eastenders – thr archers – sort of thing are falling into disrepute with those addicted to them because of the use of the trowel to lay on thick layers of snowflake propaganda .

The horrific shootings in Hanau have helped to emphasise how the BBC is overmanned, over-financed and over here.

It would be good to know that soon it will be just OVER and this must be the first day that I haven’t heard a push back against the PM’s express desire to modernise the BBC.

Not only is Europe Editor, Katya Adler, based in Germany (Berlin, iirc) but two other designated new ‘correspondents’ have popped out of the BBC woodwork today.

Combined with new names and voices constantly being heard broadcasting from the USA in connection with the Democratic Party Convention (DNC = Does Not Compute?) one cannot help but wonder what the exorbitant Licence Fee could be reduced to if some of these correspondents were asked to move on.

Again, one cannot help but wonder what the BBC Executives do all day. They cannot possibly be actually managing this behemoth and getting so much wrong. Maybe some those Execs should receive their P45s?

Perhaps I’m just too Radio4 oriented and all these bods work 24/7 on TV as well as fulfilling their extra R4 duties?

Reading the manifesto of the Hanau shooter leaves you in no doubt that he was a severely mentally-disturbed person. Reading any political motives into his deeds would be an error. Be especially cautious about use of the term ‘racist’, for reasons I will outline below. (There is much else that could be said, but I haven’t the space.)
I actually know Hanau because I lived in Frankfurt, just next door.
Any news coming out of Germany at present has to be treated with extreme caution. For some time now this country has been in the grip of the ‘Kampf gegen Rechts’ – the ‘battle against the Right’, inspired by the ever leftward drifting dictator, Ms Merkel and her ever leftward drifting CDU, as it fights for SURVIVAL.
German public broadcasters, ARD, ZDF, DW -in the main- are well to the left of the beeb, and that’s saying something. All have a mindless subservience to Merkel, which is truly astonishing.
I am happy to call her a dictator, as I have been following, with great care, developments in the state of Thuringia, where a word from her (and a bit of Liberal (FDP) cowardice), sufficed to nullify a legitimate (regional) Prime Ministerial election. Because the Liberal (FDP) PM, Kemmerich, had support from the AfD – a legitimate party, but (mindless, irrational) hate object of the Left, as well as much of the German media, broadcast and print, the election suddenly seems invalid, and has to be rerun. (No, this is NOT Communist China, which is probably more democratic than Germany at this moment in time.)
As Germany begins to resemble the former GDR more closely than what has been called the ‘BRD’, we may see a Communist/Socialist/Green alliance providing a new PM to replace the FDP chicken. As always, Merkel has ensured that anyone who could call a halt to her activities, has been quietly removed (eg former Intelligence service boss, Maasen), and her support is ever more openly for the Communist ‘Linke’ -the Left.
Merkel buddy, Ms Lieberknecht, looked like a temporary placement, as PM of Thuringia, but current talk is of Bodo Ramelow, the Socialist who was defeated, once again taking over.
With the support of Merkel and her CDU, which could have entered into an alliance with the AfD, but -as in all Federal states where they are in coalition government- prefers coalitions with leftists parties.
Calling the Hanau shooter a ‘racist’ is going to become extremely fashionable, watch this space. Any civil servant uttering the phrase, will score immediate brownie points with Merkel.

I had a quick glance at the usually reasonably balanced ‘Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung’ , and can report that ALL of its journalists have succumbed to ‘the battle against the Right’. They are falling over each other to denounce the Hanau shooter as ‘Right wing’, without waiting for any facts or investigations, or giving the matter much thought.
Caution has been thrown to the winds. The Merkel regime WILL be pleased! And the competition to curry favour has begun, big time. I suddenly recall the ‘Peking People’s Daily’, don’t know why?

Mrs Kitty count yourself fortunate you are not reading German papers, or listening to their news, your fillings would kill you.
I deeply regret to say that this very sad case of multiple murder is going to be used (or rather abused) by the German establishment for political purposes. Listening to Merkel’s statement in ‘Die Welt’ there is absolutely no doubt about that!
I tried to explain a little of the background earlier on. The beeb is going to jump on that bandwagon with glee. Corbyn is not in power, our borders are not open (well, not officially), and at this stage the media are focused on the ‘crimes’ of Cummings. Sad times for beeb; not much mileage here.
As regards the Regent’s Park incident, it seems clear that whipping up hysteria is a little more difficult in Britain than in Germany.
So I expect beeb to be a lot more preoccupied with Hanau.

There has been a stabbing in the Regents Park mosque, little is known about the attacker save for a photo, which appears to show a ginger haired bearded white male being restrained.

This is not necessarily the way the media are portraying it, as there are plenty of white people especially ginger haired who have converted to Islam. One of Anjem Choudary’s followers is known to have entered mosques berating them for not worshipping in the way he believes to be correct, in fact I remember a documentary about this guy My Brother the Terrorist!

It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that this was indeed a Muslim convert, but it will be pretty unlikely the media will allow that kind of information to slip out.

Thinking ahead to the destruction of Europe, including Britain, which is a creation of immigration, enforced multiculturalism and diversity, together with loss of an effective police force and economic destruction in the bid to save the world from the climate, we will see more examples of deranged attacks.
We will see more murders of the innocent, attributed to far right and all, but perhaps this is how the civil wars will start. Eventually the crazy gun man will be replaced by gangs, militias etc and the

Floods, climate change is the cause agree all.

Once upon a time climate change was going to create a water shortage and we were urged to save water.

    ———————

    From the BBC
England is facing water supply shortages by 2050 unless rapid action is taken to curb water use and wastage, the Environment Agency has warned.
Its new report says enough water to meet the needs of 20 million people is lost through leakage every day.
Population growth and the impact of climate change are expected to add to supply pressures.

The agency wants people to have a personal water target and has urged them to use water more wisely at home.

The study, the first major report on water resources in England, says that population growth and climate change are the biggest pressures on a system that is already struggling.

I expect the remaining 18% is used by New Britons washing their German cars, something that is done in all weathers all-year round.

I’m going to share with you an example of the unbiased discussion you speak of from our media. This is from the Cov telegraph dated 21st of November, the paper responsible for giving Jeremy Vine his first job. Headline, UK remains in top 30 affected by terrorism.
The UK has remained in the top 30 countries worldwide affected by terrorism, according to an international index, it is ranked at 28th out of 163 nations on the list, which measures the impact of terrorism over the past 5 years. The latest Global Terrorism Index (GTI) found that FAR-RIGHT extremism is on the rise in the west, with the number of people arrested for RIGHT-WING terrorism in Europe rising for the third year in a row. There were nearly 3 times as many counter-terrorism operations relating to RIGHT-WING extremism in 17/18 compared to the 2 previous years. In the UK, official figures show that in the year to June 30th, just under 24%(66) of the266 terrorism arrests were linked to FAR-RIGHT extremism. This proportion was up from 16%(57/354) the previous year. Currently around 1 in 10 of police counter-terrorism investigations in the UK are linked to the FAR-RIGHT, up from around 6% in 17/18 .

I think they could’ve squeezed in a couple more references to the far-right personally, but strangely no mention of Islam!

When I take a look at the “Global Terrorism Index” search page
      https://www.start.umd.edu/gtd/search/
      somethings emerge
Their public data only goes up to 2018,
now in that year France has loads of terrorism deaths and the UK didn’t so surely France was way ahead in the index that year

The 2018 Westminster car attack is not in their database even though the guy injured people and the judge said his attack was terrorist motivated.

The Federal Prosecutor in Germany has, with the speed of light, identified a ‘far-right’ motive in the tragic Hanau incident. ‘Racism’ comes into it immediately, of course.
It has taken no time at all to “find a link to”, and attack, the ‘far-right’ AfD party, the objective of much of the German establishment from the word ‘go’. Transparent? Just a little…
President Steinmeyer (Socialist) talks of Germany’s ‘dark past’. (His SPD has sunk into single figure support).
We all knew what Merkel and her sidekick, AKK were going to say, and they did. Yet it was her action in 2015, which CREATED THE AFD in the first place. Her CDU (also sinking into near oblivion) lost much conservative support to the AfD. Merkel claimed that there was NO ALTERNATIVE to her policy. That gave the new party its name. She says she’s a democrat. Nope, not if there’s NO alternative, dear!
Is the AfD ‘far-right’? You know, similar to that little fellow with the moustache? It think not, although there may be the odd ‘Neonazi’ hiding in its midst. Its issue is THAT IT BELIEVES IN BORDERS, and their control. It believes in the sovereignty of the nation state.
There is actually a ‘far right’ party in Germany, one could argue, in the shape of the NPD. But neither it, nor the AfD are illegal, or have broken the Law – unlike Merkel, (WHO HAS BROKEN QUITE A FEW), and who is currently initiating a ‘revote’ in Thuringia, because its previous outcome wasn’t to her liking.
R4 brought on a fearful citizen of Turkish heritage to express his outrage this evening. I understand his sentiments. Yet it has to be said -if we want honesty, rather than simply emotion- that a large section of his ‘community’ actually has ambivalent loyalties. For many not Steinmeyer, but Erdogan is their President. Witness the Turkish flags; Erdogan recently visited Germany and all but conducted a Turkish election campaign there.
Place into this mix a person of poor mental health and you have TWO tragedies:
    I) the murder of innocent people, including the killer’s own mother, and finally the suicide of the killer himself
ii) unscrupulous politicians, journalists and civil servants, who have lost no time weaponizing this tragedy for their own political/personal motives.

    BBC headline…

Police probe whether racist German killer had help

So this was purely motivated by racism then? Not politics as in opposition to Islam?

    The Killer did say….

    Islam is “destructive.”

Of course that this was a ‘racist’ attack is the line that Merkel is trying to push because it distracts from the real cause…her own unilateral, undemocratic and highly dangerous, not to say stupid and suicidal, opening of the borders to millions of Muslims.
Merkel, without consulting the German Parliament nor the German people invited in the Muslim world to Germany in an attempt to ‘atone’ for Germany’s Nazi past…..she surely missed the irony of atoning for a Nazi past by inviting in people who bring with them an ideology that bares an extraordinary likeness to the Fascism she says she abhors.

Merkel, and the BBC, don’t want you to know what the real concerns of Germans are….they want you to think anyone who opposes immigration is racist and this enables them to duck having to deal with the real concerns and problems that Merkel and all those who promote mass, uncontrolled immigration and the islamisation of Europe have brought upon us….and a future that is filled with divison and conflict….much more so than even now.

Look at the BBC report and you won’t find Islam mentioned as a motivation for this attack…the victims are of immigrant heritage, Kurds or Turks….not ‘Muslims’….which is a lie by the BBC as the target was ‘Islam’.

Not ‘Race’ but ‘Islam’. This was a clash of civilisations, ideology and politics….but the BBC, and Merkel, try to hide the truth.
