Weekend Thread 18 April 2020

So how is the Far Left Biased BBC going to report the second 3 week closure of the UK – courtesy of the People’s Republic of China ? Will worship of the NHS and condemnation of the government intensify ? Or will it find another bone to chew ?

Finally found out why I keep seeing and hearing ice cream vans during a so-called lockdown:

    https://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/people/peterborough-council-confirms-ice-cream-vans-can-trade-through-lockdown-2540828

But how on earth do you practise ‘social distancing’ when buying an ice-cream?

Too many exemptions do not add up. Like the BBC and FOIs.

I have always been chary of many takeaway options where preparation, serving and containerage are out of view, but at this period the odds of me seeking anything to consume not handled by a machine or me into a pot or oven are low.

I’d rather eat grass if I was hungry, than anything produced in a shed/warehouse on an industrial estate as part of the Just Eat franchise. Recent investigations on these places have shown there are no checks on hygiene and food quality, taken after a severe breakout of food poisoning; and after seeing (accidentally) the back kitchen of an Indian restaurant years ago, then I swear no-one would set foot in these places ever again.

I am beginning to eye up both dandelions and nettles as I am not going out to buy fresh fruit and veg. My first supermarket delivery is supposed to be imminent and I am concerned it might not turn up. But at the moment my attempts at nettle soup have been deferred. I still am not desperate enough to order a take away however much they might claim it is untouched by human hand..

Yes indeed. I recall a hot day in Moss Side, Manchester, when I approached an ice cream van asking for an ice cream for my dog. The chap looked at me in surprise, then said something to a young lad who was in the van and the lad set off on his bike returning with an ice cream for my dog. It was then that I realised what was on sale in the van

More automatic as well as predictably tedious bias from the BBC.

On Radio 4 from 6:30 there is the awful News Quiz. The very first question / item this evening had some American woman blaming Trump – not the WHO – for the Corona Virus situation in the USA. There was the predictable laugh in response – because, you see, we all know that this is true, having been conditioned by the BBC.

What came next? Don’t know as I’d turned off by then.

I unfortunately missed the “Kerrang! Radio” button on my car radio today while nursing a couple of kilos of miscellaneous deep fried titbits home from the only decent chippy still operating in the West Midlands and it tuned to The News Show on Radio 4 instead.

My composure was rudely interrupted by an unterrupted stream of leftist drivel from “A panel of comics and journalists rounding up the news”.

The only people laughing were the panel themselves and the canned laughter machine, which was itself struggling with the task.

I must say that it was so bad that I continued to listen for a few minutes to convince myself it was real.

Awful stuff. I have now reassigned the Radio 4 station tuning button to “Planet Rock” so that this error never occurs again.

Introduced as Dr Paul Williams, a former MP, the bBC failed to mention that not only was he a Labour MP, he is currently the Labour candidate campaigning to become a Police and Crime Commissioner.

Guido says An exasperated Tory source tells Guido that “Broadcasters have a responsibility to their audiences to highlight when guests have a clear political bias.” They are monitoring the output closely…

      @BrugesGroup say
When a politician appears on TV, his or her party is, rightly, made known to the audience.
If broadcasters are to invite activists to give their opinion on the pandemic, their political allegiances should also be revealed to the audience.
      This is not rocket science.

Moreover, this comment by ‘Chucky’ on Guido’s website exactly describes Starmer’s MO of hiding behind others:

      Chucky 59m
Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer has criticised the doctor for not being objective and making his political beliefs clear.
      That’s a lie of course.
But remember, Liebore’s senior staffers have been careful to say this is not the time to be critical while a) doing just that, and b) trying to take the credit for a raft of Govt decisions.
So, when you get an opposition as malevolent as Sirkeef’s mob, you can only expect them to use their media contacts to get as many of the lower ranks on the telly as possible, repeating prepared lines and making every effort to undermine. That way Stammer gets to muddy the waters while being keeping a safe, deniable distance.
It’s nothing new, but even for politicians it’s really distasteful.

Expect Al Beeb to push the ‘call for an extension’ line .

IMHO, there is an economic tsunami heading for the EU. Italy is struggling , while all the southern EU nations that are heavily dependant on tourism will suffer economic disaster because of the pandemic, eg Greece, Spain and Portugal.
The Eu will also call for an extension so that the financial burden can be shared with the UK. Germany and France will need our money when the tidal wave hits the EU and you can be sure, its on its way .

By a strange quirk of the solar system, a time wormhole has sent current BBC news presenters and editors back to June 1944.

‘This is the BBC Home Service. Here is the news for today June 6th.

    D-Day has arrived.

There have been reports of massive overcrowding on the landing craft with insufficient toilets. Transgender soldiers in particular are badly affected.

Wheelchair-bound soldiers have been unable to get on ships because of poor access.

Residents across the southern coastal towns have been badly affected, we have heard many reports of high levels of pollution from noisy traffic at night which also prevents residents from sleeping.

German troops are reporting instances of war crimes by British soldiers. We’ll be talking to the London law firm who have taken on their cases.

Many soldiers are reporting inadequate personal protective equipment.

Greenpeace are reporting huge oil spills and debris on the beaches in Normandy.

The BBC have asked to speak to Mr Churchill on these and other issues but he is unavailable.

Instead we’ll be talking to the leader of the British Pacifist Association, a Mr. J. Corbyn, and hearing about the problems faced by conscientious objectors from ethnic minorities.

We are unable to bring you news of how the landings are going as the health and safety assessments for our reporters were not released in time by the government.

So instead let’s go to our reporter Laura Doomsberg who is at a Land Girls hostel in Sidmouth’

And so it begins in earnest.

‘You’ll never see a 747 flying again’: Coronavirus ‘is killing off big long-haul planes

‘The coronavirus pandemic could kill off large long-haul planes as the airline industry continues to be crippled by the worldwide lockdown, an expert warned today.

Airlines are expected to switch to flying fewer, smaller aircraft – with the infection said to have accelerated the demise of the world’s largest passenger planes.’

Fury of British farmers as public sector caterers vow to cut meat served in schools, hospitals, universities and care homes by 20 per cent to improve diets and help environment
‘Public sector caterers have vowed to hit the target as part of a pledge which also aims to boost public health by lowering consumption of animal products.

The meals being reduced in canteens and kitchens across the UK are eaten by a quarter of the population. ‘

The real reason for the lockdowns…climate. When you hear the scientists telling us we need to keep the lockdown going and that there will be maybe up to 10 surges you know they will keep the screws on for years…releasing every so often but then reapplying to ‘prevent that surge’.

They hope you will get used to it and it will become the ‘new normal’…something you may have noticed the BBC slipping into the conversation quite frequently…things will never be the same again and this is the ‘new normal’. Anyone thinking we are being ‘nudged’ and primed to accept this total destruction of our way of life? Did they see the chance and grab it with both hands using massively hyped fear of the coronavirus as the excuse to hijack society and smash the economy in order to reshape it all to their own agenda?

Nicky Campbell was more blatant this morning as he told us we need to change our society and how wonderful the new environment was…not of course for all those who’ve lost their jobs or those dying from the virus or those suffering domestic abuse and mental health issues, or those who can’t get treatment for cancer or heart problems, or those whose education and future is blighted…but hey…stay at home on full BBC pay and I’m sure things look wonderful. Apparently it takes 66 days to change behaviour and for change to be accepted as the new normal…we are told by Campbell that ‘It is a work in progress’….If you’re not scared you should be. Echoes of Stalin, 5 year plans and the firm smack of State control seems to be casting a shadow over us right now.

If you think..no way…maybe you weren’t listening to Nolan where he had a Democrat on[missed the full name but it was Phil from NYC…possibly Phillip Steck, Dem politician].

He told us that ‘Now is the time to change the state…to introduce a US NHS and to increase welfare and more state control’

He told us there is optimism about all this…what would that be? The optimism is that things get so dire that government must take a more progressive direction. By ‘progressive’ of course he means more and more state intervention and control. Funny how liberalism has become Fascism/Stalinism. You are the collateral damage, the necessary ‘murder’, they just don’t give a damn about you in reality.

But there you have the real truth…A Tory government has deliberately sabotaged the economy and there is an agenda behind it all…climate, cultural, social and economic…things will never be the same…not if the Phils of this world, backed by the BBC, can help it.

Over in Everett, Boeing have been making 4-6 747s a year for the past 2 or 3 years, and only for cargo.
But they make about 10 dreamliners a month.
Meanwhile A380 production stopping was announced months ago. But A350s are doing well.

Which is why the ‘hub’ argument for Heathrow Airport 3 rd runway has no credibility.

Attributing the Coronavirus pandemic to these decisions is a total joke.

      Dear BBC, here’s a question for your source;

Why is “a network of organisations trying to source supplies for some NHS trusts” and not the entire country?

I would ask him myself but obviously I’m not clever enough, it really needs a highly trained BBC journalist, someone with an instinct for this sort of thing.

The BBC has been feeding us fake news all day as it told us that the boss of an NHS Trust had got in touch with the BBC asking if he could be put in touch with Burberry who were making gowns for the NHS.

Now you may have thought ‘complete and utter bollocks’….it’s not hard to find Burberry….Google is a wonderful thing…you can find the main company site here….

Including this very likely useful contact…

Our in-house Supply Chain Innovation team is looking to hear about exciting concepts and potential collaborations across materials and manufacturing.

And yes….the BBC got it wrong…somehow…and we have an apology…

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52333540

BBC correction on Burberry coronavirus plea
‘Earlier on Friday we reported that a boss of an NHS trust had contacted the BBC with concerns about the provision of gowns for staff during the coronavirus crisis.

He had asked the BBC for the phone numbers of Burberry and Barbour – two companies which have become involved in making gowns – because he was concerned about supply shortages.

We should clarify that the person concerned is not the boss of an NHS trust but is part of a network of organisations helping to source personal protective equipment for some NHS trusts.

The mistake was caused by a misunderstanding of the person’s role in the fight against the pandemic.’

So just how did they mistake the head of an NHS Trust for some random bloke/woman who just called them up…probaby from Labour HQ? It was never a credible story was it? And yet the BBC fell for it….why? Because they are so desperate to criticise a Tory/Brexit government they’ll use any old tosh to do so…hence Guido reports they have been fronting their shows with ‘NHS staff’ who are in fact Labour Party activists as well…but not telling us that useful fact as they attack the government.

What is happening to the BBC? As of 2020, fewer people than ever trust the ‘British’ Broadcasting Corporation to tell the truth. Accusations of bias and fake news reverberate inside and outside of social media tarnishing the name of this once respected brand.Every minute of every day the BBC production line is hard at work. A finely-tuned machine, Britain’s publicly-funded state broadcaster pumps out an enormous amount of content much of which attempts to mislead, unnerve and inflame the audience. Encompassing its coverage of Trump, Brexit, climate change, Syria and everything in between, there is nothing spontaneous about BBC propaganda. It is constructed to achieve specific goals. The Fake News Factory promises to blow the lid off what has become a radical, political agenda.Unable to modify its playbook by a single degree however, the corporation faces an existential crisis. More hated than loved, the BBC unravels in front of our eyes. Audiences deserting in record numbers just how does the BBC manage to retain its pre-eminent position within the UK media landscape? Using myriad examples of unethical practice in this sequel to his acclaimed BBC: Brainwashing Britain? David Sedgwick takes the reader on a disturbing journey into the very heart of dishonesty.

Exactly. The President was ridiculed mercilessly for suggesting that clinical trials could be accelerated by allowing those who were near death to trial new as yet unproven drugs before the conventional trials were completed. He was said to be an ignoramus endangering lives. Exactly the same abuse was thrown at him with the more recent anti malarial treatment of Covid 19. Medical experts know best and we must obey them without question .
But it a wider phenomenon than just medicine , it’s the same on climate change, economics, multiculturalism, world affairs , the UN and all it’s agencies. The list goes on and on. Basically ‘experts’ are the priest hood of Globalism, they are the only ones who can interpret the word of God and we ordinary folks must obey them. Hence the loathing of Globalists and their congregation of dupes , for Populists who they regard as heretics to be burnt at the stake. The populists don’t believe the Globalist doctrine , they don’t believe that the priests are always right and must always be obeyed, they think that the Globalist temple needs to be raised to the ground and it’s iconography destroyed. Or put into Trump’s more modern language , the swamp needs to be drained!

One thing coming out of the crisis is the elevation of NHS staff to the same status enjoyed by Battle of Britain fighter pilots. This will lay the foundation for a new national myth that the NHS saved the nation and so will render the NHS an even greater deity than it already was. But there is a piece of good news buried in this and that is that the BBC’s attempt to present itself as being as important a national institution as the NHS , thus justifying a universal LF or general tax, will now be seen as grotesque by the public, ‘how dare the BBC compare itself to the selfless heroes of the NHS? ‘, cue outrage at their arrogance. The BBC’s conceit of itself is so high that they won’t be able to resist trying to hold on to the coattails of the NHS in their defence against subscription but I think it will blow back on them if they do.

But not one person at our trusted , impartial, national broadcaster has asked the question, if there really is a deadly shortage of PPE on the front line, where the hell do we get MILLIONS of extra face masks from ???????

Surely the BBC wouldn’t want to see vital PPE taken away from the NHS heroes they have put on the world’s highest pedestal !!!!!

Doobs, might suspect the government engineers the shortage as it generates massive headlines and keeps up the sense of crisis that it needs to keep us in lockdown. Number of people using the NHS has dropped off, the ICUs are well under capacity and yet PPE is in short supply…how so? The care homes need some of course but it is gowns that are apparently the latest urgent requirement and care homes don’t need those.

You might ask how the government can get companies to rapidly design and produce something as complicated as a ventilator and yet can’t get people to manufacture what is in essence a plastic bag with sleeves on it?
