Now there’s news from the States, via Laura Ingraham and Bill Still, of another recently-discovered cure for covid-19, the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin. Keep it to yourselves, we wouldn’t want work to stop on finding a vaccine for coronavirus sometime in the next five to ten years.

    • Van Helsing says:

That’s not exactly news, Square-Eyed. It’s getting for four weeks since Aussie researchers reported that lab tests with Ivermectin had yielded positive results and that they were now embarking on clinical tests.

Mind you, anyone would be forgiven for not being aware of that, as it’s had little coverage in the mainstream media, at least in the UK. Perhaps they just can’t bring themselves to say anything that goes against their doom and gloom narrative.

  2. vlad says:

The beeb’s unbiased roundup of US news:

    – “Doctors dismantle Trump’s treatment comments.” (Subtext: Trump is a dangerous fool.)

    – “Disinfectant firm warns after Trump comments.” (Trump is a dangerous fool.)

    – “Trump’s disinfectant and sunlight claims fact-checked” (Trump is a dangerous fool.)

    – “Doctor rejects Trump’s ‘heat and light’ idea at White House.” (Trump is a dangerous fool.)

    – “The United States has more than four times as many confirmed cases as any other country.” (Trump is a dangerous fool).

1pm LB Maajid’s topic is Has the media got the tone wrong on Corona ?

  4. Jonbull says:

I have been a long time reader of this site and commend all for posting against the biased corporation.
I havent seen anyone post this site before, apologies if anyone has, but it is always worth a look, its US centric but covers the world. Its a very informative daily read, it certainly covers things you wont see on aunty.

    • Fedup2 says:

Welcome aboard Mr Bull – it’s good to see more people who realise what the BBC is and are prepared to engage on the internet about it.

As you may know -I don’t own the site but am a voluntary moderator – apart from refusing to pay the TV licence tax that’s my little bit of resistance against the monster ..

      Welcome again

    • Guest Who says:

Welcome, and than you for a worthy resource.

The ideological contamination of most media is beyond cure and seriously compromising the flawed ideal that is free speaking democracy, which has and still depends on certain boundaries not being crossed, but which these days are daily though venality, laziness, greed or all three.

  5. fakenewswatcher says:

Beeb news at 1 having a go at Trump for missing his briefing, and dragging up again, footage of him commenting on disinfectant.
So Daniella Ralph doesn’t like him either.

Nearly 4 years into his presidency, and about two dozen correspondents later, I have yet to come across a single positive comment on the President at beeb tv news. Now they latch onto something negative again, and drag it out for as long as possible, every new negative slant added.

    Very impartial.

Wonder what sort of coverage Sleepy Joe Biden, with St Obama hovering in the background, will get, as the election approaches?

Not quite as negative, I should imagine, by a light year or two.

    • G says:

On the R4 news at 0800 this morning, it was stated that Trump was ‘trailing behind’ Biden, “in the polls” and worsened by his ‘disinfectant’ misconstrued musing.

The BBC are incapable of explaining the facts of any matter truthfully without either withholding important aspects or indeed, complete omission and anywhere in between.

  6. Doobster78 says:

Another probing , well though out question from the world’s most trusted broadcaster.

What does he think she is going to say ??? Will be Thursday week Andrew, about 8.30pm ok ??? What a idiot.

BBC did nothing but shout and scream for lockdown, now they want to dictate when it’s eased . They really do think it’s up to them to hold the Government to account. It isn’t !!!!!!!

    • BRISSLES says:

When will people see their parents/grandparents? Yeah right. The media like to portray the population as one big happy Walton Family.

Well what about those parents and grandparents tucked away in Care Homes who never see their kids from one Mothers Day to the next ? and couldn’t give a flying fig because they are ‘so busy’ with their lives.

I saw it for myself when visiting my Dad most days and taking him home cooked food. Old folks who only saw their kin for an hour at Christmas, and then moaned like hell because their inheritance was being whittled away by care costs. Most of the elderly I saw had got all their marbles and had enough of living anyway due to their situation, so those that have passed with Covid was probably a happy relief for them, and a thankful blessing for their bloody kids !

  7. Doobster78 says:

We need more of this !!! A lot more !!!!

    • Kaiser says:

I see the good doctor slipped in towards the end “universal” health care system

    • Fedup2 says:

Doob – I’m not a creature of phone ins but I caught the beginning and end of your segment thanks .

The doctor gave the game away when he mentioned the ‘ pieces he had written for the guardian and independent ‘ obviously very proud .

But the serious question which may be asked about the future of the NHS has become an even bigger one as a result of its failure to be ready for a pandemic – at the basic level of kit – yet alone for stuff which seriously impacts the public like frightening them away from hospital services .

Whether it is possible to do anything else with the NHS -Apart from keep on throwing cash at it -I don’t know . Personally I’m no friend of it – but only from personal experience .

But it does share many of the traits shown by the BBC -totally infected by Far Left – huge overpaid management – refusal to ever admit it is in the wrong .

The weight of propaganda focused on the few staff who face covid contamination each day will colour public support for a long time so more subtle ways of controlling it will have to be found .

Perhaps because the country will be bust for a long time real austerity will have be imposed.

    • fakenewswatcher says:

Doobster- Like it. Yusuf likes the Guardian and the “Independent”, which is anything but.
      Bit of a give-away. Bet he’s a beeb fan.

Fed- hadn’t seen your comment when I made mine. Great minds…Etc

    • StewGreen says:

      I was listening live
Mike tried to dismiss the dr as a lefty
but the dr did condemn previous Labour governments for PFI.
There was no need to cut him off
..except he did drop in some offensive things about David Cameron
dismissing him as a NHS smasher and sneering aside the point that actually Cameron had make extensive use of the NHS cos of his disabled son.

  8. Celtic_Mist says:

Joe Biden is the BBC’s candidate

Here is the BBC, like CNN, defending him. I should check back on the Kavanaugh case

Katty Kay thinks – ‘will this hurt Biden’s presidential bid? Probably not’

I can’t see the BBC reporting this –

  9. StewGreen says:

What with Boris going into hospital apparently a lot of children missed the government notice that came out on 1 April just before Boris went into hospital.
.. The main thing was the return to school plan
that when the schools go back, obviously they’ll need to make up lost time.
… So school will be also on Saturdays .. and Sundays.

and to reduce social contacts the younger children will do the late session starting at 11am
whilst the older teenagers will be doing the early session starting at 6:30am.

The scientists are just waiting to establish what date this new schooling program will commence.

  10. G.W.F. says:

Ed Davey, Lib Dem leader and former member of the coalition fasts in solidarity with the BBC’s favourite religion. Brownie points for the Lib Dems.

And Hancock at the virus podium scores a few Brownie points for expressing his feeling for the plight of the BBC’s religion during ramalamadingdong.

Remember them if we are ever allowed another general election

  11. StewGreen says:

    R4 11:30pm Tonight a repeat of a 2017 on mixed religions

    • fakenewswatcher says:

Stew – Great pity. Last Sunday’s ‘Something Understood’ was quite good. Very little now on R4 that is not loaded with Beeb PC messages. I have a feeling I remember this one along with an ‘off’ switch.
I shall go to bed early tonight, then.

  12. Scroblene says:

Don’t forget, the BBC love ‘gropers’, they used loads of them for their ‘kids’ shows in the seventies and eighties, and now, most of them in what they call ‘management’ are so much older, greyer, have gone through several personal mishaps and generally fecked up their miserable lives, they still think that Groper Biden is the sort of idiot to lead the Western World!

Unbelievable! Haven’t they learned from Clinton, Kennedy etc?

Normal Brits just don’t like that sort of thing, they have families, and yes, things may go wrong, but, BBBC, just don’t blast us with such blatant hatred because you think you’re so bloody special.

You’re not, and you’re being paid a lot of money, so try a damn sight harder will you?

  13. StewGreen says:

Looks like the Sunday Times has done a hit job interview
    on Laurence Fox
but libmob are triggered that they dared to even speak to him

And are even driven to deceit
Adil Rey has been in the same magazine before
as well as in The Saturday Times for an interview

  14. StewGreen says:

    R4 Book show now
So what type of book are you promoting this week Mariella Frostrup ?
Does it conform to BBC agenda pushing rules ?

What Belongs To You. Neither a collection of short stories, nor a traditional novel,
..the book follows the life of a gay American teacher living in Sofia.
It chronicles his loving relationship with his partner, R,
which is juxtaposed with two stories of anonymous and extreme sexual encounters.

  15. StewGreen says:

    First question goes to Shuckmann
who again asks “Why don’t you open the schools, they are low risk ?”

..older ask themselves ..”So the BBC thinks I am expendable”

    16:33pm The Q&A is over
BBC speculating now that total deaths is 40K
They never talk about if that is OF Covid or WITH Covid

    • Deborah says:

As far as schools are concerned, the children may be low risk… or at least some of them. Some will be asthmatic/cystic fibrosis/other disease that raise their risk – so how do you separate them out.

And the staff may not be low risk. Not all staff are under the age of 40, indeed senior leadership may well be over the age of 40 or 50 increasing their risk. Then there is the problem of insisting children keep their social distance, most classrooms make distancing impossible.

And then can you imagine the BBC when the a child dies from the virus (irrespective of caused by or with) and the amount of fuss the BBC could come up with. You can hear the cries of, ‘minister, why did you decide to open the schools too early?’ etc.

    • Lefty Wright says:

Your post sums up very neatly why I don’t watch the BBC news shows and haven’t done for a long time. They are the true basket of deplorables and might I add, unwatchables.

  16. StewGreen says:

Slynews claiming only one third of the normal foreign harvest workforce is here.

Surely the last think to unlock is transport in from flaky countries ?

This is how it’ll play out if we make the vaccine:

*Hancock calls briefing, says we’ve created world-saving vaccine*

BBC: Will you apologise for not creating it sooner?

ITV: Isn’t it true that it contains dead kittens?

C4: Why didn’t you join an EU vaccination scheme?

Sky: You said creating a vaccine would be difficult, do you now accept that you weren’t telling the truth?

Buzzfeed: 37 reasons why the UK is still a shit country

Independent: Isn’t it true that austerity stopped the vaccine being made sooner?

      Guardian: Vaccines are racist

Then 12 days later, in what he thinks is a massive scoop, Robert Peston will tweet that his well-placed sources have informed him that a vaccine may be close.

taken from is the BBC biased site.

    • gb123 says:

SG I remember you spent some time in Singapore as I have. The implications of what you say about bringing in people from flaky countries can be seen in what is happening now in Singapore. Most of the cases they have now are coming from guest workers. Of 931 cases today 18 come from residents and the rest are work permit holders living mainly in dormitories (886). https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-coronavirus-cases-singapore-moh-apr-26-12677994 .
Although not a direct like for like it shows what could happen.

Just an aside – did anyone catch BBC news roundup or something this morning? It was slip of wife’s hand on controller

Muslim GP Sara (?) somebody – ‘moaning’ that the Govt’s message on CV19 wasn’t getting to Muslims in the UK because – get this – it was in English!!!! And she kept a straight face

WTF….was my response , which paled compared to my wife’s

“Three boats carrying 35 migrants intercepted in Channel”
Questions: Why aren’t French ships rescuing these illegals from France , Just what is our Border Farce for?
The Tory Government are becoming embarrassing by their inaction. What is the Director General of the UK Border Force being paid for ?
Its time the Border Farce was dissolved and replaced by The Royal Marines.

    • Fedup2 says:

Taffman – priti makes noises but won’t really be doing anything . Pre occupied with the bullying allegations .

      New thread is up .

  21. JimS says:

Over at isthebbcbiased since the change to Disqus the rate of commenting seems to have gone up but the quality has gone down.

(Not being a Disqusteer myself I did wonder whether Disqus alerts its users to threads that are new, regardless of whether they have contributed in the past? Certainly when it comes to ConservativeWoman the trolls are usually out before the electric ink is dry).

A lot of the ‘noise’ over at ITBB now is speculation as to whether a single comment by someone who said that they didn’t like the use of Disqus could possibly be the work of their erstwhile number one poster.

Why would someone go to the trouble of registering with Disqus just to say that they aren’t going to use it?

For the time being this non-simian will content himself with just reading the works of Craig and Sue, the ‘below-the-line’ can please itself.

  22. Fedup2 says:

I try to have a real life outside the internet so I don’t know what ‘disqus’ is and – between you and me – have no interest in knowing what it is .

I suppose it comes from not having grown up with the internet . Would life go on without it ? Yes . Do I need ‘likes ‘? Nah .

    • JimS says:

I believe Disqus is some sort of automatic forum management and moderating system that could put you out of an un-paid job, so it might come into your life, like it or not!

No need to weed out early morning ‘seewords’, (people on Disqus use tricks such as that to game the system).

  23. StewGreen says:

Countryfile repeating the item about the black people
    visiting the Syrian refugee beekeeper.
