The coming Friday – 14th of August marks the 75th anniversary of our victory over Japan . Let’s hope that the BBC can mark it with some level of dignity without importing its’ very own Marxist views into proceedings -And that it offers ‘thanks ‘ to those who suffered and died at the hands of the Japanese . There’s always hope .

Stew – it will be interesting to see whether Britain is going to enter into its ‘refugees welcome’ moment, as Germany did in 2015, or whether sanity will prevail and the populace will realise that this already overcrowded island cannot take in another flood of millions?
Much depends on whether Boris decides to turn into a Merkel Mk2 and the MSM go for the idea big-time. In fact, I believe we’ve been there and done it, when Tony Blair quietly opened the floodgates, even long before Merkel decided to change Germany forever.
We can certainly anticipate where beeb will stand in this matter. Somewhere alongside The Guardian, is my guess. During the long, hot night/morning that has just passed, I listened to Dotun on R5L and a caller named Aziz bewail the fact that the Home Office, full of ‘persons like us’ was not sufficiently accomodating to ‘migrants’. It seemed to baffle and outrage them.

fnw, the Conservative Party and the Government need to realise some hard facts of life. It has become apparent since the Margaret Thatcher and John Major induced recessions of the 1990s that the new base level below which unemployment will not go except by drastic measures (like employing people at average pay to pick up litter) is no longer 300,000 to 330,000 but 1.3 million.
Blair & Brown, throwing millions and eventually billions at real and fake job creation could not budge it below that figure. Both the Conservative Party-led Coalition Government of 2010-2015 and Cameron’s administration from 2015-2016 and May’s of 2016-2019 did a brilliant job of trimming a bloated public sector (for employment) as well as creating a private sector recovery. That saw a huge number of jobs created and filled but the unemployment figure stuck resolutely at 1.3 million and then came the Pandemic and Lockdown in the UK.
The realistic position is that if the Conservative Party and the Conservative Government keep wanting to have migration from everywhere, even if they have a smoke and mirrors ‘points based-scheme’ to create an illusion or actual reality of control, then they are going to have to put up taxes massively on the high earners and on private corporations to pay for the benefits required for the new normal.
The new normal may be, if we are fortunate, a base level for unemployment of 2 million to 2.6 million but it may be more.
It may be much more.
It’s time for a dose of reality for No.10 and No.11, the Treasury and the CP’s Central Office.

SG Interesting use of words by Beeb, but not unexpected. ‘Migrants’ as opposed to ‘Illegal Migrants’. The whole thing has a big sympathy angle to it. The ‘list’ of countries provided is also interesting as most with the exception of Egypt and one other are considered unsafe.
Having connections to this issue I strongly dispute the Beebs list. I have never encountered an illegal from some of the countries they suggest. In my experience I know that many are originating from Albania, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq and finally Somalia, which is the only unsafe one.
What some people seem to be unable to grasp and unfortunately they never will until the Beeb etc tell something approaching the truth is that very few migrants are families fleeing persecution, war, terror etc, but able bodied young single men seeking asylum. Sorry I didn’t mean asylum I meant money. Actually I meant both.
Once safely escorted here I can’t even suggest they seek out a certain (open house)Gary Lineker as it appears from his first wife that he is an unreasonable man to live with and causes stress and anxiety (crushed crisps in beds, jumping out and popping crisp bags, droning on about his mates Ben and Jerry, shouting ‘offside’ at the TV all day etc ). That wouldn’t be a good start.

No strange, they omitted that one. Must have been a (genuine) error. Still not to worry if you want your nails done and a couple of bags of cannabis to boot I’m sure there will be a suitable nail bar nearby to help out. Not that I would dare suggest any connection, of course.

Cs, it is very strange how the BBC are pro-migration but deliberately ignore the deaths of people exploited by the traffickers. Of course, the BBC wouldn’t exploit people …
….. or would they?
I wonder what a UK based 75year old might say on the subject?

Al Beeb are very upset that we are Brexiting and they are very upset that the Tory Party stormed to government in the last general election. They and the Labour Party look at unlawful, illegal Immigrants as potential Labour voters.
There is only answer to this quandary vote and support Nigel Farage and his new party .

I’m now definitely getting a bad whiff over the drip-drip of guests talking about the mess over school exam results.
Today the BBC have had two experts on, one saying that lowering marks to align with historical results will hurt the Universities as less pupils will be able to go on. They urge the government to just accept the teachers opinions.
The second saying that Universities are possibly giving higher graduation degree grades than their students warrant because this means the university will go higher up the UNI rankings and thus attract more students and thus more cash.
So my guess is that all this babble is originating from the University overlords looking to ring-fence their income and putting pressure on the powers that be and the teachers to wave lots of students through regardless of their ability.
I always suspected that universities had dropped chasing excellence for profit but this is getting obscene now.
In my experience, when it becomes all about money it usually ends in tears.
The eventual losers will be the hordes of university leavers who will find themselves in massive debt and can only find jobs flipping burgers or making latte.

That puts the kibosh on all those ‘vegan-gender study’ degrees then…

The Times has interviewed some of the illegal immigrants from France. Here they are in their own words.
Aziz Shojaei “If I make asylum here [in France] they will not give us a house or money”, he said. “No one cares here.”
Yusshka Mir, “it is better to die if we cannot reach England. I would drown myself.
Seyar Naib “I cannot stay in France, they do not give you anything. I need to be with my family.”
The Times clarifies the attraction of the UK:
To get medical assistance in France they need to prove they have a right to stay and live there for 3 months.
In the UK they can apply immediately for financial support, place to live, free health care. Though they not permitted to legally work in the UK they can do so illegally because they don’t have require legal documents that they need in France.
Oddly none of them were aware of the evil and racist white people who live in these isles. Once they watch the BBC then they’ll know they aren’t criminals, rather it is the indigenous peoples who are.

Twenty years ago or more, I’m sure I was hearing, or reading about, these same phrases from young muslim men trying to get to the UK. I found the sense of entitlement scary.
It will only stop when we stop the ‘free houses and money’ that they KNOW is waiting for them here and engage in a massive information campaign throughout the middle east and sub Saharan Africa.
Last Sunday on Any Answers, the vox pop selections on this topic gave the impression that the general public are about 50/50 between active support for these chancers and those who want them sent back to France. I hope this is BBC bias but even if it is ‘we’ have never been listened to by politicians, neither now nor twenty years ago.

No, but we ought to duplicate this on the IT Thread that Fed started today. I have a folder for suspicious e-ms that arrive in Junk. I check them over preferably without and before any opening. If they are obviously dodgy I contact the legitimate source to see if they are interested in dealing with phishing and scam e-ms.
If they are not, or if the e-m is definitely a phisher or a scam, it gets the treatment c/o Microsoft. This may mean transfering the e-m back to the Junk folder and dealing with it there using the Not Junk > Phishing item. If I’m being offered Canadian medications, then they may get blocked.
It is surprising how many legitimate operations, often close to or part of Government, do not have an easy way on their web-sites to report spoof, phishing and scam e-mails. You would think that they would have a security bod on their IT teams who would alert the appropriate police and intelligence authorities to these criminal efforts.
You would think.
But no.

Personally – should this site fail all together I reckon we should migrate to the ‘is the bbc biased site ‘ run by our good friends . The mission of killing the BBC in its current alien form is more important than any single website .

So that emails sent out have the routing info like this

The IT problems on here diverted me from …
TOADY Watch #1 – Kamala Pamela Schmamala
The BBC, with pleasure in the news readers voice in the voices of Nick and Katya in the newspaper review, told me that Kamala Harris is part Indian and part African. Pretty much half and half, actually. But the BBC’s pleasure extends to the fact that she considers herself African American. Which they also told me.
Now I am tolded. By the BBC. So there.
The question arises: why not Indian American?
Is it because Indian Americans are quite quick to integrate and just refer to themselves as ‘Americans’ rather like many of the Latinos and others, such as Brits, Kiwis and Aussies who go to live in America?
Is she from the Siddi community? If she isn’t, how can she physically be both ‘black’ and ‘South Asian’? Do they mean she’s ‘mixed race’? Then why not say so? Is it because in the ‘league table’ of mixed race social status, not having even one white parent is better? Are we going down the route of Latin America with everyone categorised by the racial profiles of their ancestors over the last six generations? Because that sounds rather prejudiced and racist to me.
There’s no way you can physically be a ‘South Asian American’ either, you’re either ‘South Asian’, or you’re ‘American’, anything else defies the concept of geography.
Maybe it’s just me, but ‘African American’ does my head in, and ‘Pakistani British’ is an appalling abuse of the language – stupid, illiterate euphemisms for people who want to live in one place (for the perks), whilst claiming to be hard done by because that place isn’t where they (or their great, great grandparents) were born.

If Biden is seen as not likely to go the full four year term, why is he being allowed to stand at all?
Surely Vice presidents should be the ones that you have never heard of, even while they are vice presidents.

As I suspected, there is something funny going on with IT everywhere … or there is something funny going on with the Covid-19 statistics …. or both.
Since this morning, I’ve been trying to get the figures for 11th August for Kent. Nothing. All day long. Now, suddenly at 7 p.m. the figures for two days combined are released. There is currently a double narrative in our media. Sometimes the same media source carries a contradictory article. I think I detailed on the Start the Week Thread how I’d seen two completely contradictory articles in Saturday’s Daily Telegraph, one stating a fall in Covid-19 infections, the other an increase. We need reliable statistics in a Pandemic and also reliable journalists and news outlets.
More than ever right now we need the BBC to re-discover some integrity and to start seeking the truth and stop pushing their usual propaganda that we spot on here.
Here are three questions that the BBC can ask a virologist:
1. Is Covid-19 something more than a coronavirus?
2. Is Covid-19 non-seasonal, is it a year round virus?
3. Does washing with soap and water and using disinfectants as surface cleaners eradicate Covid-19 or does it survive in both clean and contaminated water, and,
4. Do we have any indication as to the extremity (or otherwise) of the rate of mutation of the Covid-19 virus.
Hah! You weren’t expecting the Spanish Inquisition.
I have four questions, doh!, I have five questions for the BBC to ask a virologist:
5. Is the Covid-19 virus mutating and changing slightly to suit age or ethnicity or geographical aspects?
Come on BBC. It is important that you get your act together. From what I can see, there’s something funny going on with Covid-19. You, with all your resources and all your questioning and competing journalists, should have seen it too.

Fed, no-one replied to my ‘taster’ or ‘teaser’ on that BBC video clip from the sewers under a Spanish city. By the way, soap, to the best knowledge of my posting from memory of a scientific sort, is not acid but alkaline.
However, apart from human body waste in sewers, you also have cooking waste (salt & vinegar-alkali & acid plus all the greases and sugars and alcohol) plus umpteen cleaners and disinfectants, including bleach. I find it hard to believe that a Covid-19 virus that can be killed and washed away with soap and water can survive in sewer water.
I am amazed that rats do.
Someone may have been telling porkies or squeezing lemons or somesuch.

Let’s face it, one hears very little news from the vast continent of Africa from the beeb, or other MSM.
It’s almost as if there were a great many failed states over there, the media don’t want to talk about.
Nope, the blacks we hear about are in the US or Europe, lately causing problems aplenty, emboldened by the entire BLM narrative.
That is not to say there are not many who would like to live in peace, better themselves through hard work, have a ‘live and let live’ attitude. But the media don’t care much about them, they don’t make a good story and cannot easily be stirred up.
It’s the burners and looters who make the press, radio, TV etc which seldom condemn their behaviour. Encourage it, almost?
The narrative has to be about ”racism’; and that only fits one version. Which is probably why they don’t want to look too closely at that vast continent of Africa.
So, what goes on in the Congo or Zimbabwe, South Sudan or Somalia? Who, in the MSM care?
Thousands may be dying in various civil wars, but it’s the Dawn Butlers and George Floyds who get the publicity. Around them, you can build a good narrative? Not so, beeb?
It’s almost as if, with the erasure of Christianity, guilt has nowhere to go. So, you have to do a little artificial conjuring up…

Sadly I don’t see an alt to Johnson . Sunak will become osbourne once the unemployment numbers rise and he runs out of money tree -which is october . Maybe low commodity prices will help him through winter but the unknown is the number who might land up on ventilators if covid is driven by seasonal change – plus my own fear – being a conventional ‘bad ‘ flu .
People reading this might view me as the worst of pessimists . But in my previous life I trained for the worst and was pleased it ( often ) wasn’t so bad .
Meanwhile – in real life – If they run out of PPE again they might as well take their stuffed pensions and go find a retirement home . PPE can never be a supply issue again .

BBC migrant terminology
This footnote has been on articles since 2015
The BBC uses the term migrant to refer to all people on the move who have yet to complete the legal process of claiming asylum.
This group includes people fleeing war-torn countries, who are likely to be granted refugee status, as well as people who are seeking jobs and better lives, who governments are likely to rule are economic migrants.
… Emm For a start to me , migrant means going out , wheres immigrant means coming in
eg British £10 Poms migrated out of Britain and immigrated into Australlia.
No, they emigrated.

I’m sure I was told; maybe in another life; that animals migrate. People either immigrate or emigrate.

I think a key difference
is that migrant CAN mean someone from the SAME country
eg the way people migrate from the countryside to big cities.
A school might have a lot of MIGRANT children
If you said the school has a lot of IMMIGRANT children then that gives us the extra info, that they probably are not familiar with local culture.

‘Some say’ introduced to avoid confusion between a reporter of Irish birth and a reporter specialising in Irish affairs, it has spread to include the horrible ‘England’ team and government ‘Health’ minister.
We now see adjectives vanishing too, children have ‘Swim’ lessons. How long before ‘our’ BBC becomes Britain Broadcast Corporation?
The ‘s-word’, stock in trade for BBC ‘comedy’ and ‘drama’ can be noun, verb or adjective, a universal word meaning bad, good, stuff, drugs or filth.

Weeks ago, correspondents on this esteemed website noted that useless Public Health England were writing down as deaths from coronavirus anyone and everyone who has had the virus and then died. A fatal train crash? If the victims had coronavirus that went down on the stats.
Tonight we learn that PHE have backtracked and will now use a 28 day cut off. Headline Coronavirus deaths will thus go down by 5000, and the absurdly and otherwise inexplicable long tail of deaths will disappear.

Today five people died in road accidents.
Actually I don’t know that for definite but since around 2000 do die each year in road accidents, then five a day, so to speak, is a reasonable assumption.
Do we hear about them all ? Do they all make it on the news ? Does each have a public enquiry, demands for yet more safety, union demands for more investment ?
Because today, three people died in a rail accident. Rather less than those killed on the roads in one day. Far fewer than the coronavirus deaths today. Yet the news coverage is wall to wall.
Why is this?

Series 1: 2. A British Lynching – Artist and writer GAIKA unearths the tragic story of a British lynching that took place during the 1919 race riots.
Series 1: 3. White-washing – Emma Dabiri looks at how many black subjects who fought in World War One had their stories white-washed out of the history books.”
now I have no problem at looking at our history again, but “Black British history” is just asking for the reply “what about white British working class history in World War 1 & 2”
My Mum Lost 2 brothers in WW2, Not much more I can say.

@dfhunter It’s obvious that every murder OF a black is tragic
…. but every murder BY a black is tragic also.
Olusoga doesn’t seem to share that view
seeming brushing stuff under the carpet.
PC Keith Blakelock was killed by a mob wasn’t he ?
..there have probably been more of such murders.

I’ve seen a clip of Don Lemon on CNN where he was discussing blackness with two or three others. And the question of how black does your skin have to be to qualify as black.
These people are insane. Their hatred of President Trump and white people has driven them to this and they’re too stupid to notice.
In Africa there are many women who use skin whitening creams to lighten their skin because lighter skin is more desirable.

So with total number of deaths in India from Coronavirus heading towards 50,000 and with men dying at twice the relative rate than women the BBC’s leading Indian news story is their investigation into whether Indian men are now doing more housework: “Some hope the pandemic will prove a lasting leveller for gender relations in the domestic setting“:

The BBC just don’t care at all. For them it is all about pushing their own crass, stupid and divisive narratives.

Being the bbc, they are also very Kamala, Meghan and Michelle. Representatively.
The BBC also is no slouch running Dem PR as ‘news’ (#bbcquotes).

Biden and Harris attack ‘whining’ Trump
In their first joint campaign appearance, the Democratic Party’s candidates for the White House have accused US President Donald Trump of “whining” and attacked his record on coronavirus, climate change, unemployment and race. Speaking at a socially-distanced press conference in Delaware, Mr Biden said the president had already begun his attacks on Ms Harris – a US senator from California – and accused Mr Trump of having “a problem with strong women”. Ms Harris described the 3 November presidential election as a ” moment of real consequence for America”, adding that “the kind of country we live in” is on the line.
Mr Trump, a Republican who won in 2016, has disparaged Ms Harris’s own attempt to gain the Democratic presidential nomination. At a press conference on Wednesday, Mr Trump said “there was no-one more insulting Biden than she was” during that campaign. If you want to know more about Kamala Harris, click here, and you can also read our analysis of whether she will help or hurt the Biden campaign.

Given the choice I have opted long for a financially-distanced model funding what the bbc laughably claims is impartial rather than ideological sixth form propaganda.

A batch of our favourite front page minor headlines, all from the Telegraph this morning, hint that the tin-eared press may at last be beginning to get the message which has been loud and clear for anyone willing to peek out from behind the safety of their face nappy –
‘Record recession as GDP plunges 20pc’
‘One in 10 virus deaths was from other causes’
‘False positives mean cases may never vanish’
Still only minor headlines, I know. I could point out that most front page top stories today are a train crash – but that would be poor taste.
The Times searches for new issues to turn into crises ‘Help us sleep, how to survive tropical nights’ – I’m tempted to suggest we do as the tropical natives seem wont to do lately, get ourselves a rubber dinghy and fetch up at Dover, by the time we get there it should be autumn.
The ‘i’ is in perky positivity mode ‘Will Kamala Harris be America’s first female president? The rhetorical wish here reveals the left is doubful the befuddled geriatric Joe Biden will last the course.
Talking of US coastal liberal elite wet dreams The Daily Express has an update on our peace loving latter day flower children ‘California dream, Harry & Meghan’ £8m family home’
Back to the Telegraph and an intriguing statement from Ben Lawrence ‘Radio 1… on why it’s time to turn off’
Errrr… because you’re no longer a teenager?
Don’t panic… The Daily Star would have us spare a thought for poor old Captain Mainwaring ‘Stupid boy is hate speech’

So the Covid 19 death toll has been reduced by 10% .
This reduction takes it below certain European countries. Sky News mention it but as of yet nothing on the BBC….
When the reporter on Radio 5 Live tried to trash the reduction the Sage member replied..” it’s ok for Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to do it but when England does it it’s brought into question, why”… He stated an example by saying how can someone recover from Covid 19 but 42 days later has a brain tumour and sadly dies, so why class it as Covid 19…the reporter had no response..

What made my day was that on Toady a guy, I think called Spiegelhalter trashed the BBC live on air for its coverage of this issue.
Toenails needless to say glossed over it but the cat was out of the bag.
Result!

Report on passenger train derailment near Stonehaven.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-53751678
Analysis by David Shuckman science editor….
“Heatwaves and droughts can dry out the steep embankments beside the tracks, and over the years will start to weaken them.
Add to that the effects of heavy rain, of the kind seen just now in Scotland, saturating and eroding the soil, and undermining its strength.
And with rising global temperatures set to bring extremes of weather never anticipated by the Victorian engineers who built the lines, Network Rail has been studying how best to keep the tracks safe.“
No need for public inquiry
Our nation broadcaster have it sussed…
Do we really pay for this bullshit?

Unfortunately , in this country if you watch live broadcast TV you are forced by law to pay for it.
Scrap the TV Telly Tax. The tax that robs from the poor to give to the rich.

That wasn’t the only BS.
On last night’s news, they covered the story in detail and then, as they do, went ‘live to our correspondent for the very latest details’.
The local reporter then repeated everything that had already been said, with intonation as if it was new, reading from his smartphone, and told us absolutely nothing new at all. Perhaps he was just reading from the BBC webshite.
Completely useless and a waste of money. How very BBC.

Three big cheers for the following in the Telegraph today.
Sherrelle Jacobs (non white) writes ‘BLM is a threat to racial equality- the Marxist organisation is undermining the role of capitalism in empowering the new black middle class’
Allister Heath compares the GDP fall in non-lockdown but sensible measures Sweden (8.6%) and excess deaths (24%) with the figures for Britain (22% and 45% respectively). He then writes ‘ this is a catastrophically high price tag for the British state’s systemic incompetence, the uselessness of Public Health England, the deep structural failings of the NHS, the influence of modellers rather than proper scientists, the complacency, the delusion, the refusal to a knowledge thT the quality of the British state and bureaucracy are abysmally poor’
And so say all of us…..
As indeed this website regularly does, if not quite so succinctly.

BBC limited to R4…but still shout…
Is it me or are the kids of today as feeble as the BBC make out…A levels used to come and go…now it is an annual pilgrimage and outpouring of how the kids are suffering…
But BBC have excelled and R4 will be having a programme about the resurgence of Africa…we all know what that means…it will start with how White men destroyed their homeland and how they have triumphed…..that’s my guess…
Glad I no longer pay

I really don’t know whether to laugh or cry…
The BBC are frothing at the mouth about student grades and opportunities to attend uni’. Who really gives a xxxx?
The latest economic and unemployment forecasts are absolutely catastrophic.
Talking to a bunch of kids who are fretting about their A Level grades while the country faces up to self imposed economic Armageddon, is just self indulgent, middle class tosh.
It’s like being on the Titanic, the icy waves lapping over the deck and instead of climbing aboard a lifeboat, we’re discussing whether we’d prefer a nice claret or a port with dinner…
Do they still employ grownups at the BBC?

More BAME Toady victimhood.
The first black broadcaster was not Trevor Macdonald or Moira Stuart but a lady from BBC Birmingham that no-one has ever heard of.
She undeniably suffered the kind of abuse that was an accepted norm back in the 60s.
But that’s the point. It was the 60s. Over 50 years ago.
So what exactly do the the BBC ‘news’ editors hope to achieve by featuring such a story?
The answer of course is just to keep the race-baiting victimhood rolling on indefinitely.
