Midweek Thread 7 October 2020

Do you notice how those people and things the BBC approve of get uncritical coverage – eg Obama and the EU . Yet something or someone the Biased Far Left BBC disapproves of – President Trump and Brexit – received unrestricted criticism and condescension- without reference to their democratic legitimacy or otherwise?
This site bears witness every day . Defund the BBC now .

Its hypocrisy time at the BBC.

They report the big increases in Covid cases, and go pretty hard on this,

But yesterday they were reporting at length on the number of BAME students at Cambridge.

In the report there was plenty of coverage of student activity – none of which showed any social distancing at all nor any face coverings. But this was not commented on at all.

So in BBC land Coronavirus issues are very important.
Unless there is a BAME agenda to promote.
    Then it is a non-issue.

    Amazing, isn’t it?
Now what was that about equality, and the BBC reflecting the general population?

You know, those very same factors trawled out ad nauseam to justify BAME positive discrimination.

The BBC gets the story it wants even if it has to put the words into people’s mouths. 6pm news on BBC1 and Dan Johnson (he of Cliff Richard and helicopters fame), interviews a young cafe worker in Nottingham. Apparently there were less customers today than yesterday. The young man says his piece but obviously not given the prepared answer. Dan has to prompt him. “Do you think it is because people are afraid?” The young man obliges. “People are afraid”.

I switch off. I was learning nothing new.

      Fear and ignorance quotes:

How is fear related to ignorance? If thermodynamics or covid are not known to us, then we fear it, even if it is not a threat to us. … And if you have no knowledge of virology or atmospheric physics, the fear can be much greater. It isn’t so much fear as ignorance; what feeds the fear in this case is the inability to understand due to watching the BBC.

The attacks have already begun on Lawrence Fox…and the BBC is happy to join in with a very one-sided report telling us he is being sued for ‘ homophobic defamation’…..

They say they tried to get Fox to respond but nothing…and so didn’t bother to report the full facts of what went on and not mentioning what the two attention-seeking drama queens said to make Fox respond in the way he did…..we know the full facts because Fox himself has already stated why he said what he said…and you can see it in all other news reports…here’s Sky reporting what he said on Twitter….couldn’t the BBC find his Twitter feed?…..

‘In a statement shared on Twitter on Monday, Fox said: “If the game nowadays is to throw baseless insults and accusations about, then we should all be free to participate…

“Having said that, I have deleted the tweets posted yesterday, in response to being repeatedly, continuously and falsely smeared as a racist, as they just serve as a distraction to the important work that needs to be done.”‘

    Drama Queen No1 admitted…

‘Mr Blake also said he regretted some of the language he had used when responding to Fox; in one tweet, he had called him a “racist t***”

So happy to fling baseless accusations of racism at Fox but not happy to get some deliberately baseless accusation in return.

I await furhter action with interest…..and as Sky reports….

‘In a statement sent to Sky News regarding the threats to sue, a spokesman for the actor said: “We note the stated intention and the judicious wording of tweets setting it out.

“However, unless and until intent becomes reality, we have no further comment beyond pointing out that Twitter insults, defamatory or otherwise, are a two-way street.”‘

Maybe Fox should sue them both for smearing him as a racist….and the BBC for trying its best to malign him as homophobic by not providing the full context and reason for his comment.

A senior, Bame, politician says BLM is ‘not a force for good’ and the BBC seems to have missed his statement despite him being high profile and someone whose every word they hung off when he criticised Boris. Not so much now it seems….as is the case whenever anyone makes serious criticisms of BLM….the BBC studiously and mysteriously fails to report it.

    Here’s the Independent….

‘The Black Lives Matter movement is not a “force for good”, senior Conservative MP Sajid Javid has said

Speaking at an online event for Tory party conference the former chancellor described the organisers of anti-racism protests as “neo-Marxist” and characterised them as having extreme political views.
“I think the movement of people whether through demonstrating or other ways of fighting for racial justice, of course, that is important,”
But he added: “I distinguish between the Black Lives Matter movement and the fight for racial justice.

“I’m not sympathetic to the actual organisation, Black Lives Matter. I think it’s a sort of neo-Marxist organisation that wants to overthrow capitalism and get rid of the police.

“I think the organisation itself is not a force for good.”’

Apparently there has been a Black History month in this country since 1987 (?), but because of the Floyd incident and rise in BLM, all channels have gone into overdrive in raiding the videotape cupboard for anything with the word ‘black’ in it.

On BBC2 on Sunday there is Enslaved with Samuel L Jackson, so was this made prior to Covid or post Floyd ? because it seems there are an awful lot of ‘black’ programmes coming to the fore, which makes one wonder if the production companies have been working overtime to get us much ‘out there’ as possible, ready for the Black History month.

I’ll be glad when October is over, because all the media attention for BHm is taking away a lot of the publicity for Breast Cancer Awareness month, and Lupus Aware UK month – (I’m a sufferer), which is a travesty.

Breast Cancer Awareness month…I had no idea!
I do know however, that nearly a million screenings for breast cancer have been missed since we’ve been locked into this irrational panic.

And what’s happened to all those virtue signallers who, only last year, were wearing T shirts with, “THIS IS WHAT A FEMINIST LOOKS LIKE” emblazoned on the front? I remember seeing both Miliband Minor and Cleggy proudly parading for the cameras. Well, of course they would be…

But this isn’t a photo op. This is an outrage. A scandal. A potential tragedy for numerous women and thousands of families.

If you make some half arsed, non PC joke about a woman on TV or social media, the feminists and their hit squad are after your blood. But this isn’t a joke, this is serious.

No they have not been attending Covid 19 cases 24/7-I have been informed that in many cases there was no need to cancel operations-there is a danger to life for many sufferes just as much as there might be with this particular virus-the emphasis certainly by the media has been to push the concentration towards the so called Pandemic. I know personally people who are suffering with cancer and another in great pain awaiting a hip replacement. Big news…lol. Cambridge Analytica didn’t interfere in the referendum and nor did Russia to any significant extent. The BBC hasn’t noticed yet.

We’ve always known this….If you’d taken even a cursory interest in the investigations it was blindingly obvious CA had nothing to do with the referendum and yet the BBC has spent years telling us it did and that the referendum was stolen.

The BBC, and Guardian of course, has spent years whipping up division and hate with false claims about Brexit and how illegitimate the referendum was….all fake news. The BBC not only divided Britain but made negotiations with the EU almost impossible. The BBC has caused enormous damage to this country and its interests. Dangerous in so many ways.

Guido reports conclusions from the Information Commissioner’s report….

‘“From my review of the materials recovered by the investigation I have found no further evidence to change my earlier view that SCL/CA were not involved in the EU referendum campaign in the UK”

“I identified no significant breaches of the privacy and electronic marketing regulations and data protection legislation that met the threshold for formal regulatory action.”

“We did not find any additional evidence of Russian involvement in our analysis of material contained in the SCL / CA servers we obtained.” ‘

Pretty extraordinary allegations that have been out a couple of days….’bombshell’ maybe a good phrase….Clinton deliberately whipped up, faked, the conspiracy theories about Trump and the Russians….but the BBC are ignoring it….as always. It was always clear that the Clinton campaign was one way or another colluding with the Russians to take down Trump…how was a report, using information from Russia intelligence as the BBC’s Paul Wood told us, that was highly damaging to Trump in anyway evidence of the Russians helping Trump? Surely it was the exact opposite? How is it that in the same article that Wood told us that the information came from Russian intelligence he still concluded that the Russians were on Trump’s side? Clinton’s campaign arranged the meeting with Russia lawyers, she paid for the dodgy report and she signed off the sale of a uranium company to the Russians.

‘Some investors reportedly donated millions of dollarsto the Clinton Foundation. Former President Bill Clinton also received a $500,000speaking fee in Russia and reportedly met with Vladimir Putin around the time of the deal, Republicans, who are largely critical of the deal, have said.

Campbell said Russian nuclear officials “told me at various times that they expected APCO to apply a portion of the $3 million annual lobbying fee it was receiving from the Russians to provide in-kind support for the Clinton’s Global Initiative.”
“The contract called for four payments of $750,000 over twelve months,” Campbell said in the statement. “APCO was expected to give assistance free of charge to the Clinton Global Initiative as part of their effort to create a favorable environment to ensure the Obama administration made affirmative decisions on everything from Uranium One to the US-Russia Civilian Nuclear Cooperation agreement.”’

    TRUMP LEAVES HOSPITAL. MEDIA FURIOUS
    by Andrew Bolt, October 6
Donald Trump leaves hospital and gives a thumbs up and a raised fist. The media is furious.

A reporter there yells a question: how many others in the White House are sick?

ABC reporter Philip Williams jeers that 200,000 other Americans are dead.
ABC Melbourne host Virginia Trioli reads out a listener’s text claiming it’s a clone who left.
    Some other fuming headlines:

Epidemiologist says Trump’s tweet about leaving hospital is ‘absolutely’ dangerous

Trump’s desperation to leave hospital shows the dangers ahead

Don’t politicize the virus, Pelosi tells Trump

US COVID-19 deaths surpass 210,000 as Trump set to leave hospital

Is there anyone who doesn’t see through the media’s game?

If Trump had died, they’d dance on his body. If he lay sick in hospital, they’d jeer. Now that he leaves, they rage.

I prefer their anger. It shows they still fear him.
    .
UPDATE : Trump Arrives at the White House:

It seems the BBC latest trick to appear impartial is to take quotes from anyone on twitter which suits them – however extreme they are – and present them as credible opinions. Thus they can claim they are just reporting what others have said while printing the most outrageous accusations.

    Article.
Women with darker skin are more than twice as likely to be told their photos fail UK passport rules when they submit them online than lighter-skinned men, according to a BBC investigation.

One black student said she was wrongly told her mouth looked open each time she uploaded five different photos to the government website.

This shows how “systemic racism” can spread, Elaine Owusu said.

So BBC where is the actual DATA ??? Do the UK passport office supply data ?? I doubt it and I certainly doubt that they supply it on grounds of colour or genda that would be a big NO NO in your woke Civil Service.

However my main points is. When a person of “Darker Skin” fails to comply with a rule (HM Passport Office rules for pictures are quite specific) or a Law and are called to account then that is racist. Coloured people are above the Law and any attempt to hold them to account is racist.

The system, in this case the scanning software and hardware is probably unknowingly racist programmed by some hideous racist and assembled (isnt all computer hardware that creamy skin colour) by some white supremist. So expect the BBC to start asking the question…”Why are photocopiers always the colour of Trump supporters “? …with a lead story that Tanya a young and up and comming BME civil servant (loved by everyone and a promising footballer) has refused to use a photo copier at Bristol Town Hall because its white. Tanya was under so much stress that she was prescribed anti depressants and has now successfully sued Bristol Council for institutional racism for making her use creamy coloured IT equipment….A spokesman for Bristol Council said ” we have reviewed our local working practices and we apologise to Tanya. We have started to install non-white IT equipment starting with disposing of of seven hideously white document laminators”. Tanya was awarded £34000 from Bristol Council for pain and suffering caused…

Needless to say the person interviewed by Toenails agreed. We should scrap exams because they would be unfair !!!?

The usual class hatred story them came up. ‘Advantaged’ children versus ‘disadvantaged’ children. Better to go for teacher assessment, cited as being more fair. In other words, prizes for all and lets get rid of anything vaguely meritocratic.

Now to be fair the speaker is entitled to his opinion.

What is unacceptable is that the BBC failed to mention the background of the person interviewed. He is a LeftMob dream. Steve Chalke, with a left wing social activism history as long as your arm. A key person in a group called Oasis.

Covid : Yesterday afternoon young Dr Deepti Gurdasani was on TR
She’s a supporter of Ferguson and of more lockdowns. I won’t prime you anymore than that. Just watch and decide yourself.

I will say that later she said that yes vaccines do give herd immunity, but they are not just raw virus it’s adjuvants that do the magic.

Oh the way tweet embeds means you get the lockdown skeptic doc as well.

On the claim Sunetra Gupta has not published a “peer reviewed” Covid paper.
Apparently the groupthink is so, that when she wrote a paper, no one would step forward to review it.

There is a clip of a third expert
Jay Bhattacharya from Stanford University has joined 6,000 other health experts in signing the Great Barrington Declaration.

..basically says everyone who doesn’t agree with Ferguson is a “charlatan” and that their opinions should be banned from discussion.

Is this the virus that will finally kill off all humans or will it go the way of viruses since humans were around to catch them?

‘Peer review’ isn’t a ‘gold standard’, it is a method used by editors of publications to try and ensure that they aren’t publishing rubbish given that they can’t be subject experts themselves.

Clearly research that produces novel results will have a hard time getting through peer review while a ‘study of studies’ will get the green light.

It’s the ‘nobody got fired for buying IBM’ principle, (it’s always ‘safe’ to go with the conventional, if you get it wrong then so will nearly everyone else).

TOADY Watch #1 – Interrupter not interviewer

After a bad night, I forced myself to listen to the TOADY Prog from 7.38 a.m. through to the end of the 8.00 a.m. News Bulletin. I was firstly struck by the way Mishal and Nick galloped through the newspaper review, and, secondly by Mishal’s constant rude interruptions of Robert Jenrick, SoS for Communities, before the pre-8 a.m. weather forecast.

Poor upbringing or sign of an inferiority complex?

Brave Up2 – the expensive private education gave the Asian girl a BBC accent – but she always sounds more comfortable in her native tongue in my view .

Also has that trait of speaking slowly as foreigners do – alagia – myri and chakrabati also sound like they are talking to 5 year olds – or those holed up in taxpayer hotels having just got off the boat….

It’s interesting to have all the links to great sites like Alex Belfield, and Jim Davidson, who just tell it as it is! I haven’t seen much from Katie Hopkins recently, but hope she’s fit and well after putting up with US politicians for a spell!

So it’s here on this site for real-time news, Jim and Alex and occasionally Guido for a change, and not much else, apart from a scan of the online rags, which still chuck far too much stuff on Ginge and Minge around for my liking!

When the BBBC is defunded, which is a foregone conclusion now, all these sites – and here, will be the usual way to get proper news, you know, the sort which makes a country fell good for itself!

I wonder if the new GB News or whatever it’ll be called, will make a lot of difference now, they’re a bit late at the table!

Hi StewG, I recall you mentioning some sort of app or online facility that will reformat webpages to make it easier to look at and maybe easier to print. I am having difficulties with some of the BBC webpages and I would like to see if this might resolve some of the issues I have been having. So I would be grateful if you could mention it again so that I can look it up.

        @Cali Summary : try https://www.textise.net/
then when you want to print
: Select the text : click at the start of the text, hold the shift down and click again
        right click and select print
        ======

.. I assume you are not being facitious
Cos of course the best thing for your health is to avoid BBCNews webpages
cos most are full of BS, other pages might sometimes be OK cos not every BBC person is in the cult.
Blog readers like Inoreader or WordPress reader aren’t great for checking the BBC website
For brand new stuff you can get a quick overview from looking at the BBCNews or @BBCbreaking Twitterfeeds.

        – The BBCNews webpages are naff cos they don’t follow the KISS design principle (Keep It Simple Stupid)
so with all their sidebars etc ..they are too noisy
        I use Chrome
but then switch to the Microsoft browser set with IMAGES off if I want to check a noisy site
Or use a tool like https://www.textise.net
The BBC seems to have switched off its own Mobile and text-only options

I am not being facetious, but maybe I need to take a back step.

My view is that this is all potentially publishable and of all the media the BBC is the best one to monitor because of its charter, its role in Britain, the TV licence and so forth.

I have also been monitoring aspects of the university system. It amazes me how they all can get away with it but critics tend to be demonized or shouted down. Hence the need for proof.

With regard the BBC website I tend to blitz through the pages, looking at headlines, printing off webpages and articles (for evidence / later proof).

I will also look to see if I can copy and save to disk some of their video stories – perhaps making use of their share links. I haven’t worked out how to do that yet.

Roughly a third of a million TV taxes will be needed to pay for all this.

No wonder they wanted to make the elderly cough up the dosh, they want to spend it on these other crackpot schemes as well as paying Lineker and Ball far too much for so little talent.

With the awful BBBC soon to be defunded, I wonder where they’ll get the rest of the money?

I hope someone is playing a very clever tactical game with the minds of the bBC .

First Charles Moore announces his application for Chairman……..and the lefties go into orbit………

Then he withdraws ….to be replaced by Kelvin Phillips…

Brilliant……..they will self immolate with that one.

Question is; who even worse than him could be waiting in the wings.

i suppose it is because of funds they get from those running this narrative and because ultimately this will mean the collapse of capitalism which will inevitably create some kind of elitist communism funded on medical tyranny with a three tier society: At the top the ‘pharaohs’, in the middle the ‘keepers’ which will have some privileges for good servitude and us, the muzzled, on social credit, without jobs, relying on good behaviour to eat bread and butter. it reminds me of china. ultimately even brexit will not matter because this parliament will simply shift the sovereignty from the EU to the tier above. UN and WHO etc

      Generally TalkRadio takes our line.
Elsewhere yesterday I heard a guest say that a Positive test = proof that you are infectious.

FFS there are people stuck in quarantine in Italy months past the clear up of their infection, cos of the way the oversensitive PCR test counts dead/residual cells as an active positive.
Also it’s said PCR tests in the UK are set to run through too many cycles so are giving a positive result when the person i not actively infectious.
