Weekend Thread 31 October 2020

The evening of All Hallows. A full Blue Moon . A busy time for BBC bias – Labour Party Civil War again – islamic terrorists murdering again – and America deciding its president again – full Covid Project Fear again – and biased BBC staff publicly revolting over restrictions on expressing their bias on social media . Where do we start ?

I only sat down to see if there were any decent DVDs available on Ebay, and see if my sale was getting any bids! (20p over the start – Paaaah)!

On topic though, the BBC are really getting their little knickers in a twist about the subject for the weekend post! Isn’t it nice to see that they’re beginning to panic more than somewhat, with the Magic Grandpa story raging on one side, and the Biden revelations over the pond!

I’ve missed some of the mainstream stuff, as we changed internet providers this week, and the old people got the hump, and so did the old electricity people, so we’re about a quid a day better off next year through a huge spreadsheet, some devious poking around at usages, and no BBC television watching to speak of!

I can’t find my mobile, and it has £9.60 on a pay as you go, so don’t bother as well, so Chez Turrets O’Blene will spend the money saved on a huge ‘Guards of Honour’ from Tesco – £30.00, and some really decent Chardonnay, probably from California (whatever happened to Fetzer), or just maybe a superior Aussie bottle at around £12.00!

So that’s the news friends, and you have a nice evening, watching something – anything other than, the BBC!

Checking out as we speak, Fed, thank you!

…Blimey, this seems pretty good stuff – and very familiar!

When Gerald Seymour’s story, ‘Harry’s game’ came on the screen in the early 1980s, it was absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere was just electric, such that at the tender age of 33, I remember I had nightmares about ‘the troubles’, and still recall the enigmatic areas of Belfast, and the unpleasantness being portrayed so vividly!

If it’s like that, er, will I get over it…?

Actually, it was ‘Seven Brides for seven brothers’ the other night!

        Yee-haaaah – hot diggety!

Before history of Western civilisation is re-written, that all that is Black Civilisation ( what ever that is), I would adviser people get hold of the 4 set DVD of Civilisation by Lord Clarke. Available for around £10.00 on ebay.

Pass it around, so everyone gets to know what is what. Who knows there could be a Kristallnacht of all Western art and replaced by Marxist BS.

The trouble with our MPs is that they do not listen to the people that vote them in, particularly the Labour Party . They listen and take their orders from the Unions that have ever decreasing members . Thus suffering from the greatest defeat for over 70 years.
Boris better take note, that continually kicking ‘Mrs May’s can’ down the Brexit road is causing uncertainty to Britain’s trade and manufacturing industries . Yet more loss of jobs on top of those caused by Covid.
Lost jobs = lost votes next time .

      • Laughing at Lefty Trolls says:

If you saw the crowds forming for Trump you’d know Minnesota is very realistically achievable for him. He only lost by about 30,000 last time around, and they’ve had four years of Democrat-defended rioting and Keith Ellison’s incompetence since then.

I don’t forsee a landslide as such, but the momentum is definitely with Trump with regards to flipping states from four years ago. He has a good chance of breaking 320 electoral votes at least. Florida, Arizona and Michigan appear safe, and Ohio and Pennsylvania seem to be in his control as well. If Biden somehow wins, it’s going to be extremely close in the electoral college. I actually think the Democrats know they’re in much more trouble than the liberal media are portraying (and in fact, in recent weeks, even they have started showing a bit more reality to the situation) and are using the ‘certainty’ of Biden’s supposed lead as an excuse for obstructing and/or impeaching Trump again during his second term.

That’s partly why I felt the need to make an account on here (along with putting a troll in his place yesterday), after years of just reading others’ comments. I was surprised at how little confidence there was in Trump’s re-election prospects, as if the polls that were so badly inaccurate last time around were suddenly extremely reliable and proof that Trump had no chance. While it’s certainly not a done deal, I want to make it known that the reality of the situation is far more optimistic for libertarians and conservatives than the BBC and other left-biased propaganda outlets are portraying, just as it was in 2016. Keep the faith.

A couple of nights ago between two halves of Last of the Summer Wine on Drama Channel there was an advert showing lots of black people appearing on the screen one by one chanting about black people, but half way through Sir Keir popped up. At the end was Doreen Lawrence telling us it was 6 months to Stephen Lawrence Day. Please G-d we don’t have 6 months of this. Not least was the subliminal message that Sir Keir and not Boris is the person for black people.

I have to tell you that I’ve just watched over an hour and a half of a Trump rally. I needed to see what the average US citizen saw of/in DJT and his rallies. I was absolutely amazed. He is articulate at the right level and, I will say, importantly, he is a Street Fighter. A persona that’s extremely rare and fitting for the times. He holds the audience, he stimulates the audience, he, importantly, makes them laugh. Frankly, you could not wish for a better person to take on the defeat of communism in the US and perhaps elsewhere.

This man is not condescending. This man is a Leader.

You would not regret watching one of these mainly impromptu and certainly ad hoc speeches to get some feel of whats going on.

I watched the rally speech in Lititz, Pennsylvania 26th October.

The speeches are highly entertaining – a mixture of relevant facts, anecdotes, interactions with the audience, prepared segments, improvisations and jokes. Never dull.

Which is why the US media and our own lying BBC never show them at any length. Nor do they ever show the crowds, or report honestly on the fans’ wild enthusiasm, which will sweep him back into power unless the elections are rigged.

He has not become Billionaire by being weak on making decisons -we need Donald Trump to be President for the next term otherwise Europe in particular will suffer under a Biden Presidency which would not last long as his half cast running mate steps up, then it really will be , good night Vienna.

It is important to differentiate between Jihad and Terrorism.

      1. Terrorism generally is for political objectives. Its goal is to achieve political objectives on earth. Even thougn people are killed, it is to make a point. Victims are generally not the focus of hatred. Terrorism comes to a stop when political objectives are met.

      2. Jihad on the other hand has eternal objectives. Its aim is to strike terror in the hearts of not just the state, but at the heart and mind of all Infidels. The purpose of Jihad is Terror in the heart and mind of the individual.

Too, killing of a human is not just to strike terror in the viewer but also the victim, to send him to hell, as a personal hatred of the human at a personal level.

The Jihad does not come to an end till the victim is sent to hell. There is no end of Jihad till the end. It is why Jihad is chilling at a personal level, for the threat is you personally.

When politicians confuse terrorism with Jihad, they fail to understand the nature of the evil that is at war with us. Politicians need to state Jihad as Jihad, and not Terrorism.

I hope that the French state, that is brave beyond all the rest of the West, will continue to state the truth without fear, unlike the rest of the West.

    • Blackwell says:

They should have read the article – It explains why the IRA are shown:

It would appear as though the world is at the dawn of a new age of terrorism that’s different from before. Famed terrorism researcher David C. Rapoport argued in his influential thesis “The Four Waves of Rebel Terror and September 11” that modern terrorism can be categorized into four distinct waves.

The first “Anarchist Wave” began in the 1880s in Russia with the Narodnaya Volya (“The People’s Will”) conducting assassinations of political leaders. It continued until the 1920s, spreading across the Balkans and eventually into the West, influencing the creation of new terror groups within different countries.

The 1920s saw the beginning of the “Anti-Colonial Wave” coming out of the remnants of the First World War, when groups like the Irish Republican Army (IRA) began using ambush tactics against police and military targets to force political change.

The MSM coverage of looting is nothing short of racist. They only show close-ups of the police cars or the aftermath in the shops. But occasionally they interview a police officer and in the background you can see the looters. A steady stream of black ants carrying TV’s and trainers.
Same as illegal immigrants : close ups are always families. Long shots show the vast majority of young males.

Just look at the BBC main home-page headline today. This is their ‘impartial picture’ for their ‘unbiased’ video:
    _115147901_befunky-collage.jpg

And the video beneath it is simply Biden slagging off Trump and his supporters. It’s beyond ridiculous. It also has one of their famous edits disguised to look like a camera-flash. I wonder what they cut out this time. And just to be sure you get the message (or can’t understand the slurred speech), they added subtitles !!.

But the real story for me is listening to Biden’s voice while he’s ad-libbing. The guy is very obviously not all there. But it’s never mentioned – whereas Trump stumbling on his way down some steps was headline news.

It’s all about the Unique Way The BBC Is Funded ™ – the TV poll tax is enforced regardless and not dependent on viewing figures. And with it’s current mission of promoting Project Fear Coronavirus for the government, wannabe totalitarians and the pharmaceutical industry, don’t expect Bojo to give it a second thought anytime soon.

Biden , if he does win, or at least be installed in the WH, will be a puppet, a joke , an irrelevance but who will pull the strings?
Will it be the radical left or will it be the Globalists and the deep state? I think the latter will out manoeuvre the radicals in the ensuing power struggle because they have already shown their immense power by the way they have thwarted President Trump for the past four years. I’m still appalled their ability to be so obviously above the law on the one hand but on the other to manipulate the law to attack their enemies.
But the weakness in the globalist position is if Biden dies and Harris becomes president . Will she be more accommodating of the radicals ?
But let us not forget that there will be many millions of Trump supporters who know that a Biden victory will one way or another wreck their lives and America with it. Those people have been politicised by the events of the past four years , they now understand that in the globalist agenda they count for nothing . Trump gave them jobs and hope , are they going to meekly accept that hope being extinguished?

Note all the pontification about violence by the right if Trump does not accept the result. Those hypocrites have never accepted Trump as President (hence the multiple committees set up simply to find a way to impeach him) and the only people I have ever seen riot when they lost were the Lefties themselves.
I often wonder if they are really too stupid to realise what hypocrites they are or they know full well and their lack of ethics or shame means they don’t care. I suspect the latter.

Losing in a free and fair election and accepting the defeat with good grace is an essential pillar of democracy. But losing in an almost openly rigged election and accepting the result without protest is an abnegation of democracy. I think that is pretty much where Trump supporters are now. Does anyone think that the Dems have acted within the rather elastic norms of American democracy over the past four years? Does anyone believe that serious attempts haven’t been made to swing the election in Biden’s favour and of all the dem candidates for the House?
Democracy itself is under threat and a Biden win will mean it is in intensive care.

Question: does the R rate actually affect the deaths by Covid ?
No. It’s a theoretical projection of the rate by which the virus is spreading. It is based on some sampling, with the results typed into an Excel spreadsheet and a few fiddle factors added e.g. ‘More Christmas shopping expected this week so add 0.2 to the R rate’ etc. It is concerned with the supposed rate of infection, not with the eventual outcomes in terms of treatment, hospitalisation or death.

      • Sluff says:

        Ian
I’m afraid I’m rather less sceptical on this one than many contributors.
The R rate affects covid deaths because it spreads to people who are more vulnerable to the virus. They die. R above 1, more transmission, and four weeks down the line more business for the funeral directors.

And the reason it spreads is very simple. Because too many people are not following the very simple rules about transmission prevention.
Just look at the Shisha lounge video above or the ‘last night’ pre tier 3 goings on in Liverpool and Nottingham. The government is trying to deal with people like that and they have no chance.

So people who take care and do the right things are going to end up in lockdown because a critical mass of idiots are rendering the measures ineffective, and the economy goes to rat****.

Consider universities which have campuses. It would be a neat idea to have a campus total lockdown with the outside world but let covid run rife inside, a sort of megabubble. By Christmas there would be herd immunity in this sector of very low risk young people and they could all go home without contaminating their families. Great in theory but could you trust such students to conform? Of course not.

In like vein there is a case to lockdown the vulnerable (but at what cost to quality of life) and let the rest of us
catch it with minimal risk – but only minor flaws in the resulting segregation would have a big impact within e.g. care homes and once there, the result is little short of a kind of euthanasia.

Basically we’re b******* for the foreseeable. We’re heading back into ‘save the NHS’ and ‘flattening the curve’ territory, because the ITU capacity three weeks down the line will come under pressure. At 20,000 cases a day, expect 400+ average daily deaths by the end of the month, and rising.

So do take care readers that you don’t give it inadvertently to someone else. That’s the biggest factor.

        • Roland Deschain says:

You need to remember that this is being led by “cases”, not deaths. If we weren’t continually testing there would be nothing in excess deaths to indicate any problem. The government refuses to release the false positive rate which would give an idea of how many positive tests are wrong. Because they won’t, one can only guess but it could be as high as 90%.

You can’t trust any figures we’re being given. They’re all given in a way so as to maximise fear. How many times have you heard that ICU wards are close to capacity only to learn later that they’re at the same level as usual? Dissenting voices are largely excluded from broadcast media, especially the BBC.

Ashes to Ashes is an enjoyable series but it is still a Politically Correct propaganda piece. True, it does make light criticism of some of the more snowflakey aspects of PC culture. But look how it treats the Falklands war. Also look behind the villain in his lair in the first series there is a picture of the Queen. In the second series the villain top cop is often seen against a portrait of the Queen. Further proof is the regression of the young female cop, Shaz I think her name was. In the beginning she was a well drawn pleasant character. As it went on she just became a mouthpiece for feminist ideology, gone was the chirpy young thing having quickly evolved into a boring miserable feminist.
Just a few examples I can remember.
I don’t want to spoil anybody’s enjoyment of the programme, I’m just warning about hidden messages.

‘Being confined was toture. I was so scared’ – No, it’s not a commentary on lockdown, this is the Guardian quoting Iranian hostage Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe.

Didn’t the incontinent Boris babble something undiplomatic, when he was briefly Foreign Secretary, letting on that she was doing anti-Ayatollah PR work out there when the official line was she was simply on holiday to visit family?

Oh well, looks as though she won’t be home by Christmas.

As predicted we’re on the verge of national lockdown. Our news media has been busy laying the groundwork, gearing up for Lockdown Two – the pointless sequal movie with strapline “We Might As Well” – all prepped by turning the fear factor up to eleven. We previously joked about the Spinal Tap spoof rockers turning their amplifer to eleven when other bands only had a top notch of ten.

‘Fourth tier beckons as scientists push PM’ (Telegraph)

Now reality imitates not fiction, but satire.

The Guardian puts the case in favour of lockdown in a nutshell: ‘National lockdown “could save Christmas”‘ – as if the secular-minded Guardian is really bothered about the Christian angle. However, do you see how we’re being held hostage by the Expert Public Health Ayatollahs – do lockdown or we’ll take away your family Christmas?

Appropriate with the contempt for which the media class hold us plebs the Times frontpage shoves a pic of a male rear end (in speedos) in our faces: ‘Bottoms up! How to tone your glutes’

The Telegraph has: ‘Starmer urged to show “backbone” on Corbyn’

Well, he did show the knee to the BLM, so it seems this chap will show anything for political gain.

‘Whinge whinge whinge’ mocks the Daily Star. No, not us Biased BBCers hereabouts. ‘BBC luvvies are revolting’ – Yes it’s the new DG attempting to restore the illusion of impartiality.

Of course it’s all Kabuki theatre (as the Americans would say) nothing will change BBC left-liberal sentiment. ‘Pride marches still fine, Davie tells BBC staff’ (Telegraph) – I guess the “still fine” policy is slightly preferential to the Police, Local Authorities, Education, etc, where staff attendance on these gay-sex-themed protests is practically obligatory.

The Star’s thought for the day asks bluntly: ‘Why can’t Beeb bigwigs keep their gobs shut?’ – Quite.

Does it matter? Does extracurricular campaigning by BBC celebs skew the national mood leftward?

Methinks it does – or one wouldn’t be posting hereabouts, right?

A case in point – ‘Ministers bow to Packham on pheasant shooting’ (Telegraph).

There hasn’t been much in the way of apocalyptic weather forecasting in the tabloids lately. The Telegraph however warns: ‘France told to brace for more bloodshed’

Sacre bleu, I’d take an umbrella!

It’s all a game, you know.

Which had me thinking – if, on the same weekend, we ever get to a National Covid TIER 4, Terror Threat Level CRITICAL and Flood Warning Level SEVERE – does the government win the game, and we all go straight to Jail, not passing Go and not collecting £200?

NC is not ‘blue grass country’, Jim. Time to retire, Jim.

Harder task maybe was to find a Republican who dislikes or even hates President Trump. Does the BBC seek them out or do they ‘phone the BBC?

This Republican, a Judge Orr, who sits on the State Court gives a clue at the end of the piece. He is obviously aware* of Britain and, possibly/probably, therefore the BBC. Anyway, this Justice is campaigning for Biden to win because he is impatient. He cannot stand four more years of President Trump.

Four years is a very short time. Gone in a flash.

Oh, how I wish James Naughtie would leave the BBC. Retire, Jim. Give us all a break.

Announcing a 4 week lockdown just leaves him wide open to ” I told you so” from every angle.

The left are out manoeuvring him at every turn, he looks weak as hell.

Add to the fact he is doing sweet fa about the illegal invasion, he really is pretty bloody pointless.

No wonder msm , BBC are sensing blood. He brings it on himself.

Between him, Raab and Patel, I really though we had a chance , all 3 have been massive letdowns !!!!!

I watched a few AfD speakers in the German parliament lay into Merkel and her latest lockdown, and boy, was it something to behold. (Their contributions are all on YT -unfortunately in German).
One of them demanded the rules apply to her and the ‘Altparteien’, the two ‘Grand Coalition’ parties who run the country, were enraged, as they interpreted it as a request for Merkel to be locked up. (Which, very subtly, it was, but you couldn’t point to the record to prove that).
Compared to our current docile half-parliament, the German parliament is rocking, due to the presence of the AfD. They also took Merkel to task for imposing the lockdown from the Executive, and working past parliament.
Sabastian Muenzmaier spoke about how Merkel was destroying the bars, restaurants, entertainment, small businesses unecessarily and unconstitutionally. How democracy is being done away with, how personal freedom was being destroyed, and how Merkel was establishing a ‘Corona Dictatorship’.
They also pointed to the insanity that borders were being kept open for ‘refugees’ from ‘anywhere’, while German citizens were being locked up in their homes.
I felt, watching them tear into their government, that our parliament has almost been emasculated.
