Lord Farage for a medal! For getting us out of the stinking EU mess.

Any chance? Any chance at all? ????

About as much chance as Trump getting the Nobel Peace Prize for his results in the Middle East.
You need to have the right friends. Obama got the prize just for being black. I see Greta ‘I can see carbon dioxide rising from rubbish dumps’ Thunberg has been nominated this year.
      ‘Joke’ doesn’t even come close.

      • NCBBC says:

The Nobel Peace committee are thanking their stars they don’t have to consider Donald Trump for the Peace prize,

    • NCBBC says:

We are now in something even worse – The religion of Climate Change.

WE will all be contributing to this religion in time, money, and curtailment of our freedoms.

It is run by ignorants, mentally handicapped teenagers, journos in woman studies, social studies etal. All led by Archbishop Attenborough..

Climate Change scam should be shunned by everyone with any sense, as it gives good disciplines, such the Applied Physics and Engineering, a bad name.

  2. Deborah says:

Katya Adler on 10pm news reported that the Commission were surprised when the 2 billion vaccines thought they had ordered, didn’t appear. I don’t know which shows the greater incompetence, the EU for not realising it wasn’t a firm order or Ms Adler for highlighting it.

    • Guest Who says:

    • Doublethinker says:

All the pro EU MSM are collaborating ( an ambiguous word in this context) to limit the damage done to the project by the vaccine mess. A favourite line is that everything that the UK has done regarding vaccine supply could still have been done if we had remained in the EU, ie we could have refused to join the EU vaccine procurement scheme and still gone our own way.
Yet every single one of the Remain MSM predicted doom because we didn’t join the scheme, that there would be tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths in the UK. How wrong they were! Will we see them admitting to this gross error? Hell will freeze over first.
But one of the many positives that emerges from the UK vaccination programme success and the EUs disasterous one and their attempt to deflect blame and bully the UK and AZ , is that there is zero chance of the UK rejoining despite the efforts of Blair, Adonis, Gauk and the rest.
Other key questions aring from the fall out of the EU disasterous performance are:
Surely even the Scots must realise how bad the EU actually is and how poor the SNP is managing the roll out. But will they see sense? Hopefully enough will and turn the tide against wee Nippy.
As to the people of Europe will this debacle translate into millions more Eurosceptic votes at future elections and consequent rolling back of powers from the EU to the member states? Clearly EU politicians are worried that it will. Perhaps they will implement US style election fraud to protect themselves.

      • Dover Sentry says:

The Freedom of Information Act brought in by Blair is anything but. There is so much in the small print to prevent disclosure.

If that doesn’t work for the BBC, they can always hide behind the Data Protection Act, another of Blairs gems.

        • NCBBC says:

          How things have changed.

We may even have to carry a European Health card, or no travelling anywhere.

Covid flu has been the greatest godend for the Globalists. They got rid of Donald Trump, brought back Climate Change, and everyone has to carry an ID card.

Next – every human will be chipped.

More Bumper Weekend Crop fun on ITBB.

That the bbc is exempted to this extent from everything it hurls around like a baboon out the zoo grilles beggars comprehension.

  4. Sluff says:

A hill walker friend asserts that the BBC weather regularly go over the top on ‘bad weather’ ever since the egg-on- face of the 1987 October gales. It’s one giant a*** covering exercise.
Being an outdoor type I do watch the BBC weather but also that on ITV with the fragrant Lucy Verasamy. I even saw a C4 forecast the other day.
My friend is absolutely right. There have been three severe snow forecasts on the BBC in recent days. All fearing loads and loads of deep snow which would make big headlines if it actually arrived. Then, afterwards…..nothing. Total silence on the news. The snow drifts and big dumps never came, just a few flakes. In contrast the ITV and even C4 forecast seem to get it about right. No melodramatic fears, just a straight forecast which proves to be accurate.

In another context, the BBC would call such behaviour fake news, wouldn’t they?

    • Deborah says:

By preference the BBC like it to be the hottest day/month/year on record. If the cannot report heat they go for wettest but rarely coldest d/m/y. But if in doubt the forecasters do predict the worst as farmers and your friend know. The BBC is not good for those whose industry decisions depend on good forecasting.

I once read that with regard to weather, people have short memories and for forecasts it seems even shorter. People really do forget that the BBC forecast 1 foot of snow yesterday or just think they were lucky to miss it. This is the BBC who know the climate 80 years hence.

      • Dave666 says:

I was watching the Minder re runs on ITV 4 a few days ago. Arthur was in the club talking about Global warming. It was some scam with supposed British wine or somesuch. The conversation went something like this: In the future we will have a Mediterranean climate. Other character interjects with we will all be drowned when the ice caps melt…So that was sometime between 1979-1994 the later end I think. So what ever happened to no more snow and rising sea water?

    • Scronker says:

I find the Daily Express to be the best source for weather forecasts.

      • StewGreen says:

        bit of sarcasm there ?

        • richard D says:

DE certainly has a way with words on that subject !

Fun to read the headlines, though – provided you don’t actually plan anything on the basis of these ‘forecasts’.

      • Dave666 says:

Or the Daily mail they both start will Polar freeze and 6ft of snow stories in September

  5. Beltane says:

Sunday night’s ‘news’ headed by the hospitalisation of much loved 100-year old Col.Tom, also dealt in depth with the unrest in Russia and the racial abuse of multi-millionaire Marcus Rashford – a nice touch being from a spokesperson who told us that such abuse was common when black footballers had a ‘bad game’ though oddly he failed to add that exactly the same can apply to white footballers in similar circumstances.
The WHO team have visited the Wuhan fish market, though their tight schedule obviously could not include the Wuhan Institute of Virology since it stands well over 300 metres away.
Missing from our news was the immense pressure on Macron to resign, the universally scathing European press in their reaction to the EU commission’s handling of the vaccine farce and the £692k bill, using taxpayers money, Ms Sturgeon ran up in a failed attempt to get Alec Salmond jailed – after ignoring legal advice against the prosecution.
Oh well, maybe they’ll catch up tomorrow. Unless Naga, or perhaps Charlie, has a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ to steal the limelight.

    • tomo says:

WIV is *miles away* from the wet market

The China Centre for Disease Control Level 2 lab is just over the road – they were among the first to sequence the RNA from the virus.

There’s a 3rd virology lab in Wuhan too

  6. Twin_Town says:

I though I was seeing things from ms Adler on this…

She doesn’t quite go as far as criticising her beloved EUReich, but to just report it ????

What will they be saying in Brussels tomorrow?

    • JimS says:

The BBC web headline, probably not of Frau Adler’s choosing, is ‘Damage Done’. To Adler, the BBC or the EU?

Hopefully to all of that un-holy trinity.

A good reason to bring Northern Ireland back into the UK and ditch the NI protocol, ‘backstop’ and all the other nonsense that Mrs May landed us with.

    • Fedup2 says:

I think Frau Adler is about to be ‘redeployed ‘ to a warmer post or maybe she’s going to be working for Brillo – which will please OFCOM but not brexiters ….

Those ‘unbiased ‘ comments were well out of character – but when the EU is caught with its trousers down can even the BBC afford to look away … ?

  7. ScottishCalvin says:

BBC Moaning Emole (Editted for effect, per bbc).

    Need something different?

Our Newsbeat team has chatted to the doctor who went from TV show Love Island to the front line of an NHS hospital. And here’s news of another front-line health worker – who has won a competition to watch 60 films, in a lighthouse, on her own. Congratulations!

    On this day

The United States needs a BBC (Foreign Policy)

What my husband taught me about life and love (Guardian)

Looking at Newsbeat, it is easy to see why the US needs a bbc. And a Graun. Congrats!

    BBC News

Brian Sicknick died after he was injurerd in riots at the US Capitol, which is where he will now lie in honour.

Beyond BBC honoring him in Spellcheck, it has been pointed out in comments that they are jumping the gun a bit on investigations.

    The link:

A lot of bbc ‘quotes’. From the usual suspects. No byline.

    • JohnC says:

I see they have held vigils for him across the USA.
What about the unarmed woman who was actually shot while protesting ?. The story about her has been completely dropped.
What about the police who got shot by BLM ?. They were properly murdered yet their stories got dropped too.
It’s double standards of the most extreme and disgusting kind yet again by the left.

      • G.W.F. says:

The unarmed women is presented by the Antifa/Guardian supporting bunch of anarchists in Class War as One Down
The left can be identified by their hatred.

Poster on their FB page, too large to post here

        • JohnC says:

I accidentally got into a thread on facebook a while back in which two Lefties were complaining about people on the Right.
I was shocked at how base and nasty they were. I remember one of them saying ‘I know it goes against my Left-wing principles, but I could happily bulldoze those people into a pit’ to which the other replied ‘me too’.
These people seem to think they are in some way intellectually superior to everyone else but too shallow and stupid to realise what complete hate-driven hypocrites they actually are.

          • Fedup2 says:

Perhaps they should be reminded of some of the footage from the British Army’s freeing of Belsen Concentration Camp in 1945 before making such casual kidult comments …..

            • Banania says:

And the person who said it absolutely must have been fully aware of the implications. These people feel entitled to be thoroughly poisonous whilst being quite sure of holding the high moral ground at the same time.

    • StewGreen says:

\\ Capitol Police Brian Sicknick, officer who died from injuries during insurrection, to lie in honor in Capitol Rotunda //

So AFAIK a policeman doing his job
And Biden making the most of it

As in the whole pantomime show
      – In the first act the Ugly Sisters incited their BLM/Antifa team to go out on the streets to burn and loot
19+ people died $billions in damages
Give it a 70 out of 100 for danger

      – Cinderella Trump did always hint that “that was madness, that if they were OKing that cos their supporters had a political grievance
what do they think was going to happen if his millions of supporters copied that example”
He warned them they were playing with fire
      – Then the one time a hundred odd goofball Cinderella Trump supporters copy the Ugly Sisters lead
      combined with poor policing
It was spun up to be 50 times worse that all the BLM riots
It was bad in that 3 people genuinely died but I’d scale it as less than 5% of the BLM stuff
Then it was spun up with talk of 4 people died
but when you checked 2 deaths were certainly incidentally, like 2 old people having a heart attack and a stroke .

We know that Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick could have died from protesters, cockup or something incidental
but that truth doesn’t stand a chance and it will be spun to be the first whatever the truth is.

OT, but after losing arguments but before moving to abuse, bbc defenders usually go through a sulky ‘no one is forcing you to read it’ phase.

True. But I find it helps see the full picture.

For instance, here is today’s Indy Moaning Emole lead.

No 10 ‘failing’ to tackle Covid infections in poor areas

    This morning’s headlines
Ministers have been accused of failing to do enough to tackle the impact of coronavirus on the poorest in society as statistics show infections are falling more slowly in the country’s most deprived areas

That’s the now online Indy, once edited by the BBC Media Editor, used as a ‘source’ of “quotes” … using ‘accused of’ by the BBC despite having a paid readership in the dozens.

Meanwhile I come across other sources seldom picked up by the BBC on topics that do not suit. Apparently.

Given the BBC so utterly fails to serve the interests of me and others, to the extent of covering up information we need to make crucial judgements, why are we still expected to fund the bbc, albeit uniquely, to the tune of £5B, especially as it is for ‘news’ that has no value and ‘entertainment’ that is mostly repeats?

Franny and Timmeh!? will not answer as they are exempted.

Ofcom will not as they are incestuously intertwined.

What is the excuse of dcms and Ollie?

  12. Guest Who says:

    So, which will come first?

    1. BBC ‘analysis’ from Lurch.

    2. BBC ‘fact check’ from Marianna?

    Or… neither?

If you don’t have anything good to say, it can be best, if a propagandist broadcaster, to say nothing.

The closing of the border, the weasel words from Macron, Von Der Lyer and the threats regards the vaccine from the Riech EU towards the UK and it’s population, was described as a ‘spat’.

The BBC as pro EU today as it’s always been.

  16. AsISeeIt says:

The great conundrum of the day & a very simple answer to the Russia question

The UK government certainly went all in with vaccinations: ‘Vaccine rollout to care homes complete’ – as confirmed in the Daily Telegraph; ’UK breaks vaccination record with 600,000 jabs in a day’ – boasts the ‘i’; ‘Record jabs in UK as EU supply row continues’ – concedes the Guardian.

No expense, economic or societal, has been spared: ‘Tax burden at highest level in 70 years’ (Telegraph); ‘Lost schooling could cost pupils £40,000’ (Telegraph); ‘NHS will take “months” to return to normal after covid crisis ends’ (Guardian); ‘Mental health emergency. How to save your child from screen addiction’ (Telegraph) .

Only the Daily Mail seems boldly willing to balance our fabulous vaccine policy directly against the enormous cost of the government’s dreadful lockdown policy – which left making a big show of vaccination as the only feasible exit route:
Good news: vaccinations hit 610,000 in a DAY as total nears 9m.
Bad news: Devastating report lays bare £350bn toll on children who are… Covid’s lost generation

    – well done the Mail.

The Telegraph highlights the various problems but in scattergun form, failing to join the dots.

You heard of the brain drain in the 1970s when well-qualified Brits faced with high taxes and a failing economy fled Britain for better opportunities abroad. This new de-educating, de-qualifying of the population is self-inflicted. Where on earth will the next generation of the media’s much vaunted “experts” come from? Perhaps the open offer of free passports to 7m well educated Hong Kongers has some merit.

Nick Timothy in the Telegraph muses how: ‘We need more companies like AstraZeneca if Britain is to thrive’ – if you don’t mind, Nick, I’ll reserve judgement until we see the longer-term effects of the vaccine.

One was a little leary of taking on this next story. But like some post-modern Star Trek preamble, let’s boldly go where no person has gone before (and perhaps seek out strange new life forms and civilisations – better than our own… post-modernist joke)

And the great conundrum of the day: ‘Hero Captain Tom in hospital with covid’ (Express)

Whoa there, the 100-year-old NHS-supporting national treasure didn’t get his jab?

Wales Online helpfully headlines the urgent question our national daily frontpages neglect to boldly spell out for us: ‘Why Captain Tom has not had a coronavirus vaccine’ – because we must take the word of the NHS that he hasn’t, otherwise we open a massive conspiritorial can of worms. The Daily Mirror at least senses its readers can be a little bolshy and require a frontpage bold type headline explanation: ‘100-year-old hero didn’t get vaccine because he is also fighting pneumonia’ – so this vaccine can be a bit dodgy if you’re already a bit dickie then? It seems a real shame that so much seems now to turn on the private medical details of this nice old chap. Should the ex-serviceman centenarian succumb shortly, may we fairly call it old age? Unfortunately I sense the official pen poised over the death certificate and the covid-minded editorial headline writers ready to spurge even as we speak.

Will the medics blame pneumonia? One senses not. One elderly centurion’s earthly departure, which really ought to have been quiet and dignified is inevitably going to be promoted to the focus point of all the official narratives. Sad.

The tabloid Sun in extremis would uncharacteristically have us turn to religion: ‘Captain in hospital. Pray for him. NHS walk hero, 100, hit by covid’ – Amen to that.

Sounds as though there’s some sort of lockdown in Russia: ‘Thousands of protesters held in Putin’s biggest ever crackdown’ (Times); ‘Russian dissent: ‘Protesters take to the streets again’ (FT) – pray tell us, broadsheets, what’s the chances I will get nabbed if I go out and protest against my government right now?

How can we help Russian protesters’ – asks Ian Birrell in the ‘i’. By leaving well alone. Judging by our previous foreign policy successes with regime change in Iraq, Syria, Libya etc, we’d best stay well out of it. If the Ruskies want a Czar-like strongman – and history implies they do – then let’s leave them to it. You do realise this lot have nukes not oil, right?

    • AsISeeIt says:

Press review addendum (strictly for the teenagers among us)

David Grohl, erstwhile drummer in the US punk-grunge band Nirvana – now that’s lost 90% of the audience – pops up in the Telegraph with the bravely optimistic hope: ‘The pandemic will not be the death of live music

Covid precautions do of course spell the death knell of live music.

Seeing the cancellation of another Glasto, I’m oddly reminded of some of the words of the late Kurt Cobain in his rather distressing drug-addled lyrics of the hit Come As You Are:

“Come doused in mud, soaked in bleach, As I want you to be, As a trend, as a friend” – spooky.

The riff ripped off Killing Joke’s “Eighties” – now that will musically sort the men from the boys hereabouts.

      • Thatcherrevolutionary says:

I believe this was settled with KJ out of court.

If you want musical oneupmanship regarding rip offs, have you heard Elastica’s ‘Line Up’ alongside Wire’s ‘Three Girl Rhumba’?

This was also settled out of court.

        • AsISeeIt says:

So I do at least have 10% of the right-thinking audience.
Bang to rights with that one.
I guess we’ll see more of this in the future – until eventually a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will come up with the complete works of William Shakespeare – and get sued for copyright infringement, by an infinite number of corporate lawyers.

          • Up2snuff says:

I had the Nirvana album on which ‘Come as you are’ was a track. Am afraid not my sort of music – ‘Come as you are’ was the only half decent track to my mind.

            • Sluff says:

But since this is the biased BBC website, does anyone else out there think that the main music to BBC ‘Pointless’ quiz show at 5.15 pm weekdays bears an uncanny resemblance to ‘Funky Town’ by Lipps Inc, circa 1981?

        • Fedup2 says:

Oh no this site is going into ‘ripped off music ‘ mode – do you want a separate Thread ?????

    • Fedup2 says:

I was Watching the ritual of woke Uk reporters going on about the nasty Russian riot police using their stun guns like new toys – the image of plod in Westminster running away or kneeling on the demand of the coloured mob in a mostly peaceful riot not long ago .

Russia is being used by msm to divert attention from another unaccountable corrupt government – the ReichEU

    • Up2snuff says:

AISI, “You do realise this lot have nukes not oil, right?”

Er, ‘they’ (Russia) actually have nukes and lots of oil and lots of gas, too.

The value of the oil and gas has been diminished by the Pandemic, hence the unrest stirred up among some Russians over economic slowdowns. It also puts Germany and the EU in a difficult position because Germany receives or is going to receive gas from Russia via a pipline.

      • AsISeeIt says:

‘they’ (Russia) actually have nukes and lots of oil and lots of gas, too.

Very true. But I would say, for some reason, we in the west, publicly at least, don’t seem to think we either need or want oil anymore.

Our beef with the Russians appears to be cultural rather than resource competition based. Even more reason to leave them alone.

        • Up2snuff says:

We don’t hear about Russia’s oil and gas because it is an inconvenient truth for a Global Warming and Climate Change obsessed, pro-EU BBC that their beloved Germany and EU is not as green as they would like to make out.

Yes, no demand for oil and I blame Theresa May and Princess Nut Nuts for that. I expect there will howls of outrage soon over a lack of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, cleaning products and so on emanating from those same females. At least we will not have to put up with the latter ruining our Saturday breakfasts as the Princess may not be so keen to appear on the front page of the DT without any make up.

  17. Up2snuff says:

TOADY Watch #1 – another ‘car crash interview’, oh dear!

FedUp2 is correct, Mishal Husain – dominant among the TOADY presenters – is not the sharpest twig in the forest. If last week’s ‘Car Crash’ interview was down to the interviewee, Angela Rayner MP Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, today’s was purely down to the BBC and the presenter and it was wonderful.

Mishal was interviewing the founder of Bellingcat, Eliot Higgins, the informal, social media intelligence agency that bested the BBC and the UK Intelligence Agencies and the Wiltshire and Metropolitan Police Forces over the Skripal Affair. Mishal asked the question a BBC journalist should never ask another investigative agency.

Mishal: “Do you investigate impartially?” Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooops!

With memories fresh in the minds of regular TOADY listeners of the BBC’s statements in November 2020 about the US Presidential Elections, then candidate Biden’s son’s laptop prior to that Election and the events at the Capitol that happened this year, that was definitely the wrong question to ask!

  18. JimS says:

I caught a bit of the new White House press secretary the other day responding to a question about the GameStop scandal, where private investors had been blocked from trading to protect Wall Street.

Apparently Americans should be assured because the new Treasury Secretary is a woman, Janet Yellen.

One of the companies on Wall Street that needed ‘protection’ was hedge fund Citadel. Fox News says that Janet Yellen had received nearly a million dollars from Citadel for ‘public speaking, (shades of Tony Blair).

All the signs are that the Biden administration is going to be the most corrupt ever, but I doubt if the BBC will notice. It certainly looks as if all the claims against Donald Trump are true, just that it is the accusers doing the wrongs.

“Brexit: How much disruption has there been so far?”

    BBC News

“The big international players didn’t really want Brexit,” says Iain Anderson from the Cicero Global consultancy.

“Red tape is exhausting and it causes arguments and disagreements, and things that used to take a few minutes are taking hours or even days,” says Shane Brennan, of the Cold Chain Federation. “It’s draining and that has an impact on people’s attitude to wanting to trade.”

Never any good news from the BBC about Brexit. Any small problem is blown up out of all proportion to eclipse the good.

Shane Brennan mentioned above, is head of the Cold Chain Federation, and is anti-Brexit according to his Twitter feed. Where do these ‘Federations’ come from? They are all self-appointed and seem to be both Left Wing and anti-Brexit.

Of course, the BBC use them again and again as a source of impartial comment.

CBI and the Hauliers Association to name but two more. The CBI receives EU funding. Wonder if it still does?

    • Doobster78 says:

      Indeed Dover.

Another scare story from the BBC proved wrong !!!

Have House prices collapsed ??? Nope
      Food shortages ?? Nope
Lorries backing up and chaos at the Ports ??? Nope
Vaccine shortage in UK ???? Nope

All the above heavily reported as being “nailed on” to happen by the BBC and all wrong.

  21. Up2snuff says:

TOADY Watch #2 – it couldn’t be, is it possible, two in a row?

What is that? Another Bad Week for Socialists/Liberals/Leftists/Marxists/Communists – you know the ‘Wrongists’ of this world – after last weeks vaccine debacle for the EU.

I wake up to the news of the military coup in Myanmar, the Republic formerly known as Burma. Aung San Suu Kyi has been a figure of hate for the ‘Wrongists’ over the Rohinga peoples migration into adjoining nations as ‘refugees’. If there is one thing that ‘Wrongists’ hate, it is a military Government because there is no chance of fiddling elections as there are no elections while the military hold sway.

But then the reason for the military coup is given in the BBC news – “election fraud” – and then the thoughts of regular BBC listeners to Radio4 News will no doubt hurtle around the globe to a disputed recent election in the USA where the BBC dismissed those claims as ‘unfounded’ or ‘being without evidence’. So now the ‘Wrongists’ will have to ‘eat craw’ and their recent hate for Aung San Suu Kyi will turn to grudging concern and who knows maybe, in time, love, respect and admiration again.

A dangerous road to travel . Obviously the author jumps on trump and America and the individuality built into the American way …
…..and has a dig at Blighty where princess nut nuts husband visited hospitals and shook hands telling us all will be well Back in March 2020 …

But as I read I could not help but think of the 25% ( more ?) who have died from COVID in Care homes and hospitals from cross infection – to me that blows the reason for high numbers of dead in the UK out of the water – as far as the authors’ theory is concerned

Anecdotally – I’ve been to Latin countries in the last year where social distancing was a joke but every one wore a face mask – but stood around in the street in large close groups –

And the level of infection and death was and is through the roof…

  30. pugnazious says:

The Spectator may have summed up the BBC’s covid19 reporting in one short sentence….

‘The only problem is that the BBC editor’s line appears to be cobblers.’

Poor old Bames….being deceived and conned by anti-Vax conspiracy theorists….they are the victims putting their lives at risk as they refuse to be vaccinated….White people on the other hand who have concerns about taking the vaccinations are dangerous and ignorant conspiracy theorists spreading malicious misinformation who must be denounced, shamed and silenced.

Remarkable also how unconcerned the BBC is about the EU’s complete, shambolic and disastrous failure to manage its vaccination programme [and its attempt to put a hard border across Ireland putting the peace process at risk….lol]…imagine if it had been the other way around and Britain had failed to obtain enough vaccinations in a quick enough time….the BBC would be onto the government in no time at all shrieking about total, dangerous incompetence and its slowness of reactions….there’d be loud cries of ‘Blood on their hands!!!!’. Of course we have already seen this type of reporting from the BBC….wasn’t Germany brilliant in the way it managed to stop Covid19 in its tracks and keep deaths so, so low…whilst Britain was far, far too slow and too late in reacting….never mind Germany locked down at the same time as us.

Odd isn’t it that the BBC’s sole concern, instead of castigating the EU, is to blame Britain. The EU, according to Jeremy Vine, was merely retaliating for some British crime, Britain being greedy and irresponsible [as it tries to vaccinate its whole population to make them safe], the BBC now busy trying to force the UK to stop vaccinating Britons and rather to hand over its supplies of vaccine to other countries.

The BBC is on a campaign to stop vaccinations in this country whilst at the same time demanding the government vaccinate everyone quickly…as with this morning’s Today programme trying to find a way to condemn the care home vaccination programme.

Britain successfully buying enough vaccinations to do the job is apparently ‘Vaccine Nationalism’, driven, so Nicky Campbell tells us, by xenophobia and a creeping and sinister rise in populism. In a programme where he had on two advocates for surrendering British vaccine supplies to less rich countries, Campbell of course giving them every chance to speak and lay out their case and then agreeing with every word, claimed they were right….why, he asks, shouldn’t countries like Ethiopia or the Congo be rushed supplies as they suffer so much?

Hang on….firstly the BBC is always telling us how Britain has the worst death rate in the world [It’s given up lying about America now Trump has gone]…never mind plucky Belgium, in the EU, and others actually have a worst rate….so shouldn’t Britan be prioritised? and second it’s just a pure lie to say Ethiopia and the Congo are in any way in a covid19 disaster zone….most of Africa has barely been effected by the disease in comparison to Western countries….Ethiopia 2000 deaths, the Congo 700….Britain…100,000. It is mostly ‘white’ countries that are badly effected by covid19 and yet the BBC doesn’t say that…instead it tells us Bames are the worst effected [due to systemic racism of course] due to their race….which is another complete lie….it’s because of the jobs they work in, the way they live their lives and their culture…and their refusal to get vaccinated now.

Campbell read out a couple of critical messages from listeners who were astonished by the lies being spoken on his show…but then allowed his guest to counter each issue raised and to do so without challenge…for instance one guest claimed AstraZeneca were monopolising production, raking in profits whilst limiting production…it should be farmed out to other companies to allow vaccines to be delivered to less developed nations.

This is a completely false claim but Campbell just nodded along in agreement. AstraZeneca has many agreements with other countries to supply them and for production to be set up in those countries in association with other companies.

A company press release from June 2020…so no excuse for the BBC not knowing…or claiming not to know…

    ‘Company exploring further additional global
capacity to provide broad and equitable access

AstraZeneca continues to build a number of supply chains in parallel across the world, including for Europe. The Company is seeking to expand manufacturing capacity further and is open to collaborating with other companies in order to meet its commitment to support access to the vaccine at no profit during the pandemic.
The Company has recently completed similar agreements with the UK, US, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and Gavi the Vaccine Alliance for 700 million doses, and it agreed a licence with the Serum Institute of India for the supply of an additional one billion doses, principally for low- and middle-income countries. Total manufacturing capacity currently stands at two billion doses.’

Note also….it hopes to deliver ‘up to 400 million doses’ to Europe…not definitely will…

‘AstraZeneca has reached an agreement with Europe’s Inclusive Vaccines Alliance (IVA), spearheaded by Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands, to supply up to 400 million doses of the University of Oxford’s COVID-19 vaccine, with deliveries starting by the end of 2020.’

Some might find it odd how the BBC’s attitude has changed….one moment telling us how Brilliant Germany is, the next, when Britain is being hugely successful and the EU failing spectacularly on so many levels, such ‘nationalist’ comparisons are unacceptable, somewhat fascists and racist.

And let’s look at Germany….so it had few deaths in the first wave. Was Germany really that brilliant or was it pure luck? Consider now as deaths mount in Germany to near 60,000….how is it that a country with such an apparently brilliant ability to contain covid19, after having had 6 months to learn so much more about it and to ramp up its programmes to improve its preventative strategies, now finds that covid19 is out of control in Germany? It was pure luck in the first wave that meant Germany avoided so many casualties…..but the BBC just doesn’t want to talk about that now…it does however still attack Sweden….telling us that it is in dire straits with cases rising…thus proving ther strategy wrong and anyone who says we should use the Swedish model is also wrong and misinformed.

Of course Sweden is not in dire straits….its death rate is well below ours and yet they haven’t destroyed their economy. And how about Japan….strange the BBC barely mentions them…..a country whose reactions and track and trace systems were shambolic and yet they have had less than 6,000 deaths in a very crowded country……sheer brilliance or pure luck?

‘Nationalism’ is great if the EU or its constituent countries are doing well, not so great if it is Britain doing well….the BBC will always fly the flag for Brussels even going so far to lie blatantly…the BBC’s EU propaganda mouthpiece caught out….

    The Spectator’s thoughts….

‘The only problem is that the BBC editor’s line appears to be cobblers. For starters, Boris Johnson’s government hasn’t really ‘berated’ the EU at all. Only yesterday, the PM refused to wade into the row, and merely stressed the importance of international cooperation.

Secondly, there doesn’t appear to be much equivalence between the EU’s recent behaviour and the UK medicine ban. The Politico story itself notes that the UK ban only covers supplies already intended for UK patients, to prevent middlemen making a quick buck by hawking the medicines elsewhere. Any medicines manufactured for export are exempt and allowed to leave the UK. In other words, French patients would still be able to receive any medicines manufactured in the UK. The EU, on the other hand, appears to be mulling an export ban simply to prevent other countries’ orders being fulfilled.

Unfortunately it seems to Mr S like the BBC is still on auto-pilot when it comes to its Europe coverage, and has missed the rather more obvious story: that it’s the EU currently behaving like a playground bully…’

And this morning it was announced that the UK government had met its promise to offer first doses of vaccines to every resident in a care home by the end of January.

This announcement took about 10 seconds on the ‘Today’ programme to be swamped out by a BBC report on an Alzheimer group, which is now demanding that care home residents get priority for their second vaccine jab early, rather than vaccinate other people who haven’t had a first jab yet. The BBC didn’t mention whether this should be ahead of teachers, BBC staff, non-critical public sector staff, union Leaders, political hangers-on….etc., etc. to many of whom the BBC gives a platform to promote their own safety first.

Then it was on to the Care Minister interview, where she was told in no uncertain terms by the Beeboid newsreader that they had not offered jabs to some care homes….but it looks as though homes with a current COVID outbreak might have to be visited later, for health reasons, obviously…. and then the BBC announced that it had had complaints from ‘some’ care homes who had not been visited……but no specific details, of course, nor of the reasons why…. so that wiped out that bit of good news.

Then there was the news that the government had ordered some vaccines from a new UK manufacturer….. but these are not for today…. they’re for future years. No congrats to the government for once more getting the UK ahead of the game, ‘cos it’s pretty damn certain there’s going to have to be vaccination rounds each year to be safe (can I have a big shout out for Wuhan, China and the W.H.O. – round of applause, please – and wash, rinse, repeat on your doorstep each Friday at 8:45 pm).

LABOUR’S Shadow Cabinet members have claimed tens of thousands of pounds on expenses during lockdown with taxpayers picking up the tab for first-class travel, rent, TV licences and even hand gel, according to the latest figures.

Deputy leader Angela Rayner claimed £30,952.98 including £1,600 on 23 first-class rail tickets between London and her Manchester constituency since last March while Shadow Foreign Secretary Lisa Nandy claimed £23,083.44 on expenses, including £8,883.35 on non-office rent and £475.67 in council tax and £20 on hand-sanitiser.

Shadow Business Minister Lucy Powell submitted an expenses claim for £25,206.49 last year, including £1,141.10 on rail trips including £390 for first-class, £5.65 for postage and a £157 TV licence fee.

Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities Gill Furniss spent £19,506.31, including £7,136.72 on non-office rent and £780.78 in council tax. She also made 10 first-class rail journeys.

Jonathan Ashworth, the Shadow Health Secretary, claimed £23,865.67, including £2,843.20 on travel, of which £72.20 was spent on taxis between his London home and Westminster.

A Labour Party spokesman claimed it was often more cost effective for MPs to travel first class.

Did this not reach the UK shores in the autumn or early winter of 2020/21? Did this not precede the Governments travel ban on SA, Portugal and Brazil as the latter two have links to southern Africa? Questions not asked by Sarah Montague.

The Montacutie did however, introduce the Newsreader with the usual trail of the main items and asked with words to the effect ‘could this new variant upset the Government’s vaccine roll-out?’. The obvious first desire of the BBC being to find something negative to say about the UK Government, I guess, especially as it is led by Boris Johnson.
