Wow, that’s really interesting.
I’ve been liberal/left/green much of my adult life but started feeling really uncomfortable with it about five years ago – and this makes sense of quite a lot. (I obviously need to read more!)
It makes sense of a lot of the current workings of the bbc. Eg I just couldn’t make out why no one was questioning why XR were protesting trains in London (mass transit, therefore sustainable transport), but I guess its pretty obvious they aren’t just about the environment.

Except, of course, her first name is actually Melanie and she was born in London and grew up in the vibrant cultural melting pot that is Penzance which is quite some distance from Zimbabwe, I believe.
But, hey, let’s jump on the ethnic bandwagon which is a clever career move and with all those unrepresentative TV advertising and film roles reserved for certain folk.

R4 news at ten last night gave her mate Jamille/a (?) a lengthy space to complain about how black women like Thandi (and Jamille/a, presumably) needed to ‘reclaim’ (?) their place in a world allegedly dominated by…well, you know, those who aren’t. Working from my imperfect recollection now, but was there a chap named Henley who gave her all that space?
I wasn’t really paying much attention (generally R4 has now become a background noise, at best, ready to get switch off). Was thinking about Zimbabwe: once it had huge potential. Food production and exportation. I visited in the 70s, and things looked fine despite the great intnl boycotts. Couldn’t get proper chewing gum, though, if I had to search for some little moan.
Now the place is a ruin, and hunger dominates the people who were supposed to have been ‘liberated’ when Smithy was quietly disposed of by the British government. Can’t see Thandi/we rushing back there.
Interesting though, to speculate about what it is that now makes the Jamilles and Thandis think they have the track record to run the show. They seem little more than big mouths, being given a lot of space by the likes of beeb.
Anyway, keep your mouth shut and keep paying that beeb licence fee. R4 staff are ever so grateful, ta. Come to think of it -just like Zimbabwe- R4 is also a ruin now, but once had great potential.

Buried higher up this thread and responding to a comment about woke University Challenge questions to do with slavery, this gentleman has gone and linked a question setter to an article he wrote for the Guardian on the very same woke Leftist slavery self-flagellation theme.
If this is all true, and why should it not be, then this must surely represent tremendous proof not only of the scale of the insidious, ingrained Leftist bias of the biased BBC but the hidden depths to which they are prepared to go to keep it all in place.
Recruiting a left wing question setter who then sets left wing questions about his favourite topic on a quiz show has to be right up there.
University Challenge’s use of metric measures annoys me. In Britain we use miles for distances and feet for heights, but not the BBC, it seems.
However, I did notice in the final Paxman used “BC” instead of “BCE” which had previously been used. Perhaps it was a slip of the tongue? Hope he doesn’t get cancelled.

What are ‘green jobs’, I’m an engineer with decades of experience in ‘environmental engineering’ and ‘sustainable engineering’, and I don’t have a clue what ‘green jobs’ are supposed to be, they’re certainly not in my field (which is shrinking), that’s for sure… so what exactly are they? I believe that Khan is eying an opportunity suggested to him by the antics of Sturgeon in Scotland and Drakeford in Wales i.e. moving towards a self governing republic of London and thus breaking away from the United Kingdom and it’s parliament and thereby establishing Khan, Sturgeon and Drakeford as supreme and eternal rulers of these new republics.
I can bet that the same thoughts are going through the minds of similar officials in other areas of the UK where enough diverse support can be mustered like Leicester, Bradford etc.
We might even see a return to the days of private regional mercenary “armies” that were common in the medieval era. All fighting each other for their masters over local power and land.

You can in fact describe the use of the word “green’ to describe someone in another sense, for instance someone who is “green’ is someone who does not understand what is really going on and who are blind to the real motives of other people’s suggestions.

It should be quite a big story, not only because of all the celebs involved (Ginge and Whinge, Piers, Tucker, Sharon Osbourne) but also – and much more importantly – because of the issues raised: free speech, cancel-culture, extreme woke despotism, and more.

What the bBbc don’t feel the need to tell anyone through their UK News Homepage is that in Northern Ireland 41 PSNI officers have been injured amidst ongoing Loyalist riots, the First Minister Arlene Foster has called for the Chief Constable to resign immediately, and the largest Unionist party, the DUP, have said there is no point in talking to the senior management of the PSNI as the Protestant people of NI no longer have in trust or confidence in them.
