We are heading for the end of the first week of broadcasting by GBNews . What can be said ? It has a different style – presenters allow their guests / interviewees time to speak – the BBC habit of attacking – interrupting – closing down – or just not allowing air time – isn’t there. There have been a few technical issues and some excellent advertising by advertisers refusing to advertise – but for a new kid on the block it can only be a good thing .

As to your next question. Neither major political party gives a flying **** about the will of the people. In a two party system both “sides” know control of the people is complete.

Douglas Murray, in conversation with Ben Shapiro makes the good point that while ‘the left’ is busy dismantling all the things that we naturally assumed were normal, uncontroversial and part of British life, the Conservatives put forward changes to planning laws.
He says that where ‘the left’ argues for ‘Jealousy’ Conservatives should argue for ‘Aspiration’ – strong causes against strong causes.
British Conservatism has pretty much always been a barely managed retreat against the entropic left. Is there no-one prepared to put up a fight!
(This isn’t really a political argument of right or wrong, when the whole lot of them are going in the same direction their velocity is of little importance).

How strange that the totally legitimate, most popular President in the history of the Universe, finds his popularity plummeting after just a few short months.
