Sometimes the MSM surprises itself . It hypes and hypes the likes of Engerland in the Euros . Then those of a certain disposition go over the top . Hysteria sets in as happened on Sunday .
And when there is anger and trouble the MSM pretends to have no responsibility for what it has done . The same happened with Princess Diana – and the latest fad will take footballs ā€˜ place .
Bet letā€™s hope there is a while before then next nonsense .

Not being a footballism officionado much about the game of beauty eludes me, but as with many other competitive elite activities I had presumed the main point was the skills involved; strategic and physical.

Before, during and after the bits I am aware of actual kicking a ball into the other sidesā€™ goals seemed almost irrelevant to almost everyone who dominate the airwaves.

Especially after. Now it has turned into a carnival of victimhood nothing to do with sporting prowess.

Weird. Inevitable these days, but still weird.

There is also the very real danger of those with power and influence dancing to the tune of those who know they will, easily.

I am constantly amazed at the myriad ways weasels can create something to react to out of nothing.

Now too many are desperate to avoid transgressing idiotic rules and demands of skilled manipulators. Do something, say something, or else. Or why didnā€™t they do or say something? A guaranteed lose lose.

There are a few who stay true to what they believe is right, but most cave. And pay the price still anyway.

Still watching more woke care of the beeb, Only Connect. Question, which comes 4th in this list, Carbon Dioxide, Argon, Oxygen, of course the answer as we all know is Nitrogen. Simple, except from the way it was presented it would appear that the 4th most common gas in the atmosphere is CO2. Every right thinking person knows that this is absolutely untrue. Defund the bastards.

    • StewGreen says:

      I must be thick
Yes CO2 is very close to zero, whereas usually water vapour varies upto 4%, so it’s more than the 1% which is argon

but I know they like to deal that variability by always referring to the amount of the gases in dry air without water
So they put CO2 as fourth, behind argon
followed by the trace gases which are so close to zero they together are about 1/15th of CO2

Neither John Stones nor Harry Maguire are superior to Sol Campbell or Rio Ferdinand when they played for England, yet I’d take Bobby Moore over all of them. Sterling isn’t nearly as good as Wayne Rooney, nor Saka to David Beckham. None of our current midfield stacks up to either Paul Ince or Bryan Robson. Ashley Cole remains the best left back of the modern era. The point is, you can isolate players of any ethnicity from each generation who are better than those who came before or after. Bringing race into it is so typical of the grifters it’s now gone beyond being dangerous to actually being farcical. That one of the England players – a fringe contributor – is all over the papers digging out the Home Secretary this morning, should concern us. Footballers have no power or authority, they are here to entertain us. Nothing more. Mr Mings should keep his mouth shut and his eyes on the ball. His opinion was neither asked for, nor is it required.

So, the Euros are done and dusted and once again England have failed to bring it home.
    I have to confess I didn’t watch a single match, I just couldn’t.
All that bloody knee bending, the endless virtue signalling and lecturing, particularly from that puritanical pillock, Gareth Southgate. God, he’s an irritating bore…

And now, after weeks of goading the fans who loathe the Marxist knee bending, there has been an ugly backlash. There was bound to be. You can’t continually finger wag, hector and lecture without there being a reaction; particularly when the fans’ hopes were so ridiculously high.

The wokerati forced politics down the throats of ordinary working class blokes and we’ve rejected it. It was always going to get ugly. These blokes wanted to enjoy their football, not to be lectured to and sneered at by middle class lefties. It’s football; we don’t want to constantly hear about the merits of diversity and how we must support BLM. Give us a bleedin’ break. Of course black players shouldn’t be racially abused, that goes without saying, but…

If you keep poking a dog with a stick eventually it’s going to bite.

I cant help but think that Southgate couldn’t see the bigger picture when asking 3 of his non-white players to take a penalty.

Anyone with half a brain would have thought “what if they miss ? “. Did he really not think what the outcome on social media would be ? Realistically it was a ‘given’ that the abuse would happen. Abhorrent as we all know, but isn’t it a fact that racism – whether white on black, black on brown, religion against religion will never be eradicated, and to expect it to be stamped out by 2030 is quite frankly laughable. It will still be around when this young generation is as old as I am today.

      • JohnC says:

The more I think about it, the more it fits that he chose the black players to go last because if they won it, that video of the last penalty by Saka going in would have been the headline news and the video given the most unbelievable air-time and praise. Not one but three black man would have been pushed as the heroes of the nation.
The opportunity was just too valuable. Southgate had to take the risk. I strongly suspect this was planned before the match even started.
Once it failed, the attention switched immediately to use it to highlight racism. The number of headlines of how abhorrent and abusive the racism is has flooded my phone. This looks a lot like a BLM Kristallnacht and I am waiting to see how long before it is used as reason for some other changes.
I do wonder how so many people know how bad these comments are because I can’t find a single one. I would like to know how many people made them and how racist they actually are. I’ve seen some jokes on social media but race was not the focus.
The bigger problem here is that a wedge has been drive through society by the marxist BLM and their far-left supporters like the BBC. Then, when people rebel against the blatant anti-white racism, they fall on them like a pack of wild dogs and tear their careers and reputations to pieces.

Where are the tweets ?? Has anyone seen them ? And what’s to stop race baiters stirring up trouble. This gives them the excuse to keep taking the knee next season as to stop will be seen as “giving in” to the racist England supporters.

Why aren’t Rushford and Mings etc making a stand about knife crime (another child stabbed to death in London today) does that child’s BLM ??? Apparently not.

A lot of pooh stiring is going on here reports in Manchester of 3 BME youths being attacked, now rubbished etc its just stirring up hate where hate doesn’t exist.

And can you imagine any other London Chief constable surviving as long as she has what with policemen killing young ladys and daily BME stabbings , she is in position because she is a lefty, end of. It just shows you who is in charge its more important to be on message than to perform.

There is no doubt the vicious left are trying to precipitate change not through the ballot box but through anarchy, lead and championed by the BBC.

All the stadia have been built by what is as near as damn it slave Labour. If they did refuse to play I would respect their stance but of course they wonā€™t because they would lose serious money from sponsorship deals. I reckon that they make a lot from their BLM supporting gestures which is the main reason why they persist in their kneeling.

Quite rightly all sorts of people have come out and condemned the racist comments towards the three players who missed their penalties. Before we go on, I donā€™t blame them ā€“ they at least were brave enough to get up and try. Very stressful for them and they have my deepest sympathies as they will still be feeling sick about it, and will for some time.

However, among the people who condemned the racists were Boris Johnson and Priti Patel. Gary Neville has attacked Johnson and is blaming him personally for the racism because Johnson said that fans have a right to boo the kneeling. Despite being a United fan, I now consider Neville to be scum. I have thought that he is a nasty shit for a long time but allowed him a little leeway in my mind as he was such a good full back for United. No more.

Now Tyrone Mings, who I had thought was quite intelligent and certainly very pleasant, has had a go at Priti Patel because she had called the kneeling ā€œgesture politicsā€. He claimed that she cannot say that and then also condemn racism. For me heā€™s also dropped from hero to zero in an instant. The kneeling is clearly gesture politics and is also very racist as the BLM movement, they are genuflecting to, is a distinctly racist organisation. Itā€™s also openly marxist and murderous. Many people in the USA have been murdered by BLM.

I hope Mings never plays for England again (unlikely) and that Neville gets sacked (even less likely). The fact that they are pushing for a nakedly political and racist organisation rather than concentrating on improving their football skills gives the fans, who pay their wages, every right to boo.

      Demon,

As a now-wavering life-long United fan I cannot stand Neville either. Nor to be honest can anyone I know. He’s a gobshite, your stereotypical shop steward, “a busy little shit” as Jaap Stam might have quite rightly put it.

Mings is a very average player, dirty and a tad sly, who is lucky enough to have the same activist agents as Marcus Rashford, Roc Nation Sports, who are apparently,

“working to advance social good and impact locally, nationally and globally”.

Roc Nation Sports have an obvious socialist agenda and use American style identity politics and race-baiting to spread this message globally through sports, primarily basketball but increasingly through footballers like Mings.

Unfortunately here in the UK football has given both of these chancers, Neville and Mings, and many more like them are waiting in the wings, lots of free time and money. They can easily afford their champagne socialist lifestyles, they are wealthy enough to indulge in their virtue signalling hobbies and they are always ensured of a media platform through CNN/ Sky and Roc Nations friends at the bBbc.

Here are some examples of how close Roc Nation and the bBbc are,

The top 3 articles on the BBC UK page are all about racism including the main one about footballer ‘Ming’ attacking a government minister. Unfortunately they proudly include a picture of Ming which destroys any credibility he might have had if we didn’t know what he looks like.
And down near the bottom in the ‘small ads’ we have the above small article. One murdered, two arrested and no names or details given. Again an appeal for witnesses with no description given of what they are looking for. So they are all black and it is being covered up. Again.
    So much for BLM.
A good example of just how utterly warped the BBC view of the world is now.

Main UK page: ‘Defaced Rashord mural covered in hearts’.

It isn’t covered in hearts at all.
This trick is getting very common at the BBC now. The lie disappears once the story has slipped off the main page and no trace remains. Those who just scan the headlines do not know it’s a lie and are fed fake news.

Just watching Dan Wootton on GB news. I have to say he is by far my favourite presenter. I agree with almost everything he says.
They have a debate about taking the knee with a wokerati on the panel. He looks about 20. The argument is about taking the knee for BLM : he will not accept that BLM are political. The brat has been absolutely ridiculed about his stance and now he is sat sneering at the camera with hate in his eyes as the debate has moved on and he has nothing to add.
While he was arguing, he completely lost his temper, He was unable to accept any debate without getting aggressive and nasty. As he got desperate, he kept jumping in trying to call everybody racists then got shot down again. He represents everything wrong with the twitter mob who for some reason are being allowed to define our social policy.
Wootton handles them very well. No wonder the Lefties hate him.

i watch Wooton’s programme regularly and also think it is very good.

My view is that GB News are being very clever with having people like Benjamin on. In virtually every segment, there is always a ‘lefty’ present – ridiculous as his views may sound to us he does provide the all important balance that the jokers at OFCOM deem to be so important. I think that if you just had Wooton, Oliver and the blonde lady (didn’t catch her name) it could easily become a right-wing free-for-all.

In maintaining a constant and obvious left-wing presence GB News shines a bright light on the lack of impartiality at the BBC. Imagine if the BBC plonked Nigel Farage in the middle of one of those god awful “Brexitcasts” with Adler, Keunsberg, Mason etc… it has never and will never happen.

I also though that Neil Oliver gave a very good summary about BBC news: “it is absurd that BBC’s Head of News recruitment target has her own strong political views and that these are wll know publicly” “BBC news is in a parlous state” etc.

Radio 4 Extra demonstrates the decline of comedy on the BBC this morning:

JB Morton anticipates the prudish 2021 BBC’s ‘health warning’ of outdated language and attitudes before the repeat of Beechcomber…By The Way from 1991 when one of his characters says, “Sir, you offend me deeply!”, and Beechcomber replies, “It never does to be superficial!”.

This programme was then followed by a repeat of Big Problems with Helen Keen from 2015, the introduction of which is a direct rip-off of Lionel Nimrod’s Inexplicable World from 1992.

Looking for fresh comedy among female ‘talent’ must be like looking for NBA stars among the vertically challenged.

After achieving mediocre scores recently for imparting general knowledge (scientific and medical) and confusing us all with their race politics during the recent big round of sports, our Masterminds of the media now return to the big black chair for their specialist subjects.

I’m changing the Mastermind rules around a little, just as comedy duo the Two Ronnies once did: by answering the previous question when asked a new one – Sir Keir Starmer also took up a version of that idea for his PM’s Question Time quizzing – asking Boris hindsight questions about what he was proposing to do to address the situation as he found it six months ago.

And so we welcome our first contestant: you are the Guardian, originally from Manchester; you make a living goodness knows how; you thoroughly enjoy working from home; you have a small circle of friends at the BBC; and your hobby horses include arts and literature – but especially the subject of race within arts and literature; you say you also enjoy sport, politics and covid and especially the racial aspects of sport, politics and covid.

Your chosen specialist subject is – Covid in the period 2020 to 2099 and how it goes on forever but it is all the fault of the Tories anyway… and if you can bring race into your anwer that always scores you a bonus. As we like to say, Covid, it’s started, so it won’t finish… and Guardian, your headline answer is:

PM lifts restrictions despite fears of “exit wave” and 200 deaths a day

That scores well and we do give credit for the coining of a brand new lefty phrase: “exit wave”. But you did forget race for a moment there.

Johnson accused of race abuse hypocrisy

I’m sorry, I have to take your first headline answer.

We now welcome to the media Mastermind stage the Times. A retired patriot now in its dotage, the Times also enjoys working from home and has recently transgendered to a female outlook with frontpage features such as: ‘Is your oat milk healthy?‘ It has a trendy metropolitan stance and among other delusions it blames Brexit for messing up its Greek holidays recently. It joins its rival the Guardian in choosing covid as its specialist subject and needs to surpass the score of 200 deaths a day.

Thousands in hospital each day if UK is hasty. Bid for normality could see 4,800 daily admissions

That’s a good score and will be difficult to beat. Next in the media Mastermind chair we have our young contender the ‘i’. You enjoy not going to school and claim to be the newspaper of the year – a self-invented and apparently perpetual title. Your supposed independence doesn’t see you break ranks with the crowd and you also choose Covid as your specialist subject. Now, you require a very big score to take the lead.

3.8 million vulnerable people told: avoid people who haven’t had both jabs

Well, that’s an impressively large number. And that could also score as the most divisive answer today. But we do have further contestants.

The Telegraph, you are a world-weary title that has largely given up hope for conservatism, pitching your old moth-eaten armchair somewhere in the shires as England goes to pot around you. Your attitude to life is summed up by feature writer Alistair Davies this morning: ‘Following England is hell. But here are 11 ways the heartbroken can get over it‘ – the final two of which, one suspects, are a glass of good malt whisky and a revolver. Your specialist subjects are where did it all go wrong since 1945 and a lack of education.

Johnson urges use of vaccine passports‘ and ‘Pupils will be told which exam questions will come up‘ – are your headlines which I’m afraid are not answers and not even questions. No points here for lame impotent observations, I’m afraid.

FT is a globalist that finds covid restrictions only inhibit the little people – particularly from foreign travel – since the private jet and corporate expense account allow one to circumvent queueing and quarrantine. Since competition, free markets, Adam Smith and all that tosh are just too much hard work, the FT has preferred outsourcing and government croyism as a mantra and source of sustenance. FT, your specialist subject is State and corporate cohabitation.

Johnson shifts onus to companies on imposing Covid-19 restrictions

And as the final whistle is about to blow and – unlike Covid Lockdowns or the real Mastermind – we can’t go on and on just because we say we haven’t finished – our final contestant representing the tabloids takes the chair. Daily Star, I’ve no idea how you qualified for a game named Mastermind. Your hobbies include comic humour and the weather. You pass on questions of news. In a media landscape that has apparently forgotten the term investigative journalism you bring us inciteful features such as: ‘Chocolate digestives: The facts‘ and raise the important cultural societal issues such as: ‘Have YOU got permission to pet your pussy?

Your specilaist subject is of course the weather, or Oh my god, the weather…!

Go read the BBC pages on this, because it’s a prime example of how they can report news in an impartial manner. The protests are reported in a matter of fact manner, and there is no political comment or criticism of the government, presumably because they don’t know the outcome yet.

Interesting to watch Florida Senator Marco Rubio condemning Socialism and Communism for the hatred control and division it uses in order to gain power. Now why is it that Boris the Bottler can’t do the same? Probably because he’s too scared, and because he himself is a Socialist.

Not really relevant but the name Tyrone, as in Mings, is Irish. County Tyrone got it’s name from a chieftain name Eoghan, basically Owen, who stole the lands from other tribes and clans, colonizing the area with his own. Probably enslaved some because that’s what they did. I wonder if he knows that. Cultural appropriation, history of colonisation, and all that other stuff.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/voices/england-racism-saka-euro-2020-wembley-b1882451.html

So Mr. Hawksley, you claim that the actions of a bunch of drunken thugs who probably do this sort of thing repeatedly at soccer matches represent the entire English nation do you?

I find it an utterly repulsive and divisive claim. I question your reasons for this extravagant and highly offensive claim on behalf of the 60 odd Million citizens of this Country, the vast majority of which have no interest in football or it’s grossly overpaid stars.

In my view the false and generalised accusation that you make creates far more racial tension than could ever be stirred up by a handful of drunks at Wembley.

No doubt it secures your tenure at the Independent but is abhorrent to the vast majority of English people and displays an astounding streak of childish bile and viciousness.

Your views might raise fawning applause in the comfortable homes in Kensington as it is so “fashionable” but goes down like a lead ballon in most normal homes in England.
