Weekend Thread 10 July 2021

One of those strange weekends when the Far Left Anti British BBC suddenly gets all ‘patriotic’ but must inject racial division wherever possible .

Just been watching Jeremy Clarkson on Amazon Prime trying to farm. The programme has a serious message about how difficult farming can be; but watching Clarkson trying to shear a sheep just had me in stitches. I cannot remember laughing like that on the BBC since Ronnie Barker gave up.

It’s very good . I’m just finishing episode 7 of 8 – with the bee keeping . Very interested as I kept bees for a while .
Clarkson and I shared the experience of the horror – the horror – of having bees get into your protective space suit . You and feel them and know what’s coming next – the stings ….
It’s very good – although his solution to farming problems amounted to getting the cheque book out ..

Cheque book? Hire a couple of Aussie wranglers then: they shear a sheep in something like one every two minutes. Seen it done (on TV): incredible.

Fed, a friend of mine – now departed this life – kept bees and didn’t bother with the suit. He was rarely stung, if he was, it was usually on a hand or finger and he reckoned being stung was good for his arthritis and rheumatism. Dementia (Alzheimers) claimed him some way into retirement.

Don’t start me – I spent a fortune on kit – but then found that my reaction to stings got progressively worse . The cure ? Give up . I thought about using an old NBC suit but that was too much .

The scene prior to that one where the sheep is on top of him in the crush is even funnier, as when the sheep struggles free it bites him right between the legs and both the Shepherdess and the union man have to turn away they are laughing so hard.

Well Sopel was working with him on the day the Dems chose their candidate for the presidential race.

November 2020 when Sopel was mocking Trump for daring to query suspect election results
      some replied to Sopel

“And yet you lauded Avenatti for months.
Even as a basic element of journalism, you don’t think its worth it to at least investigate?
If there’s nothing there, then it’s a given, right?

Here I go whinging about the same thing again:
Everything I used to watch on a Friday evening has turned to woke sh1t. In my desperation, I tried another episode of Vera. The start of series 7 I think it was.
They usually change the cast each season. For example, the pathologist has varied between a black male model who keeps his sleeves rolled up and an older Asian guy (looks Indian). But of course they are both brilliant. Never make a mistake and even go out finding tyre tracks etc as well.
So this time Vera approaches the new one bent over the body. She looks at sidekick and asks if it is the new guy who they infer is a complete tw@t. He says ‘I’m afraid so’. And as we get close I knew what was waiting for me : yup – he’s a pale-and-stale whitey.
Vera’s new detective is there. She’s black like the last one. This time proper African black, not the black-but-cute ones we normally get.
So the murdered girl is young and very white. Vera visits the parents. Mixed race. Turns out the girl is a lesbian.
Vera visits lesbian partner. She’s black. Again, full-on African black.
It’s a bit of a blur after that because I’d lost interest and was reading the news on my phone. I remember Vera going somewhere else and would you believe it ? – another entirely unlikely older mixed race couple.
    Off.
The thing which stood out is how all the white people had Newcastle accents and all the black people didn’t. Obviously shipped in for the part as there aren’t many locally.
The dwarf woman in the wheelchair seems to have gone. I wonder why they got rid of her : she was brilliant too. The only bad one on the team is the middle-aged, racist, bigot, whitey copper whose job it seems is to remind us how bad whitey-man is.
I’m almost tempted to try another to see how low they will go in that one.
The only amusing part is that when Vera is at the whiteboard giving a lecture, they always have 3 or 4 extras stood watching in the background shuffling papers and carefully paying attention but never getting involved. They change from episode to episode and it’s quite amusing to see who they put there. This time is was someones Indian grandmother.
The entertainment industry in the UK has turned to anti-white, anti-male racist sh!t. I’ve been hoping it was a fad but it just gets worse and worse.

I admire anyone who watches anything on UK TV . American drama is just light years ahead and isn’t as quite possessed of white guilt .
I wonder if the TV people think that because they used mainly white Hetero normal actors in dramas for so long – that this was wrong so are now in the other direction ?

I watched about 15 minutes of the recent c5 monster – Anne Boleyn as a coloured girl . The premise is insane . But her acting – god awful . A joke of an idea that no one stopped .
But it will get awards ….

Police dramas are seen – I think – as a reflection . I saw some of the recent big hit one – line of duty – . The dialogue ? Actors talking like machines with a script aimed at 12 year olds . Yet rave reviews ….

I find myself on a DVD / prime diet . But the likes of prime and Netflix produces a fair amount of dross too .

Speaking of dross – the BBC – as I speak – must be finishing the charters on the fleet of aircraft it hired to go to the Japan olympics in a couple of weeks time …

You know – the 2021 olympics that no one wants – plenty of covid – a hostile population – no live audience – the perfect recipe .
Our plucky coloured athletes will be interviewed by an adoring coloured BBC clone about doing well to come 7th out of 8 .
And god only knows what the Japanese will think of ‘woke’ .
And thanks – your line ‘dwarf woman in a wheelchair ‘made me splutter my tea ….

Gone are the days whereby the easiest way to date long running series like Midsomer Murders was to either look at car number plates or how advanced the computers and monitors were in the police station, but to count the number of ethnics parachuted into village life. One episode recently had a black librarian. Be honest, libraries are a thing of the past and even in the largest cities, they are being closed.
Also, a black pub landlord. I have been in hundreds of pubs in my lifetime and never once has an ethnic been in charge ( ps I have worked in the hospitality industry all my life, and the management is 99% caucasian)

Looking at the list of the author Anne Cleeves ‘Vera’ series she only appears to have written 10 novels, starting in 1999. I have never read them, but I doubt when writing her early ones (or Shetland) she knew they were going to be televised, and so it could be entirely down to the Casting Director to make politically correct changes to her characters.

Absolutely – the early episodes of the last series IIRC started going down the woke route but it eased off later.
I think the worst I ever saw was ‘Grantchester’ where about 50 black people turned up from the USA and James Norton had to sit and look guilty while one stood on his pulpit and gave the congregation a lecture on slavery and how evil white people are.
It made me cringe. No wonder he left.
Apparently it’s devoted to giving lessons on gay rights now. I don’t know : I can’t watch it any more.

May I suggest that the so-called ‘charities’, get their act together and fund the placement of all these people indefinitely?

I’m sure they can ask a Miliband’s advice, and maybe persuade him to help out from his half-mill wages!

They could buy a small African country somewhere for peanuts, take all these people there, and tell them to work at building their new homes!

Charities for sad people are the scourge of modern existence, they prey on so many normal citizens to give them money which they squander on their own selves. The only charity we support is our Air Ambulance, because they actually do something, and pay themselves very little.

The BBC love ‘charities’, it makes them feel good about the money they waste on non-slebs, and awful, tacky broadcasting.

There are those who doubt the sincerity of capitalistic corporations that we see rushing to adopt right on “woke” PR campaigns.

Curious about oil riggers and drilling? Click on the Shell website and you’re greeted by one of their Platform managers who talks about “Pride offshore

I was living two lives” She/They [I hope I got the pronoun right] ‘talks about life as a transgender woman on some of the world’s most remote oil and gas facilities

Think of “Red” Adair in a frock. Fair enough, if that’s what floats your rig. But I’m inclined to say what happens off shore might as well stay off shore.

FTSE100 bankers Barclays likewise invite one to “Bank with Pride” and run of the mill gay people appear to be so absolutely last year, as Barclays likewise go with cross-dressing imagery to greet their potential customers.

I’m put in mind of an old Morecambe and Wise gag. Ernie asked of Eric “Why are walking that way?” “I’m a businessman” he replied. The short fat hairy-legged one said “Businessmen don’t walk like that!” to which the tall bald cheeky one with glasses replied “You don’t know my business”

House builder Taylor Wimpey still appear to value their customer base as stemming largely from family creation, rather than the normalisation and promotion of fetishes. Their online wokery confines itself to features on ‘Simple tips to reduce your energy bill‘ and ‘How to create a hedgehog friendly garden‘ – I haven’t seen a garden hedgehog in years – I assumed since they stopped culling badgers and foxes ran riot in the suburbs they had eaten them all.

Land on British-based multinational insurance company Prudential plc and you are promised: ‘We help people get the most out of life‘ – their home page featuring an oriental young woman in a muslim headscarf – Chinese Uyghur? A small but rather controversial minority. Of course the man from the Pru is very Asia-focused these days. Think of that familiar logo of theirs, the allegorical figure of Prudence wearing a red headband, as now representing a red China version of the old Japanese kamikaze rising sun banzai bandana.

And so we come to a newspaper article, appropriately as we condsider the corporates, plucked from the FT: ‘Philip Morris blows away the smoke‘ – so what on earth do we wonder has the tobacco giant, best known for the smoking cowboy imagery of the Malboro Man, been up to so as to clean up his act for the twenty-first century?

Has the coffin nails fag company gone for the obvious and found the lonesome Marlboro Man a match, Brokeback Mountain-style?

Honestly, one doubts that would be his first rodeo. Or maybe the role of square chined stetson-wearing white guy Westerner has been outsourced to a Far Easterner – David Carradine Shaolin monk Kung Fu style – his hands and feet are deadly weapons? No, no, no – yellow face and cultural appropriation they will cry. Alternatively, now that being gay is considered old-timey and transgenderism is the new corporate normal, has the cowboy shed his chaps for a dress?

Nope, Philip Morris is really grabbing the bull of the current health obession zeitgeist by the horns: ‘The New York-listed group has struck a £1bn deal to buy Vectura, a UK pharma group with technology that allows more medicines to be inhaled‘ – From ciggie firm that produced those red and white Marlboro pack that if you folded them in such a way they spelt KKK to “Healthcare and wellness company

It really seems that he and his like live in another world which only liberal left people inhabit and anyone holding a different world view is an alien or Neaderthal knuckledragger. Their sense of righteousness and entitlement is nauseating. They simply don’t realise that with each passing year more and more people move from resenting being forced to pay for the BBC to a position where they positively hate the corporation and all its works.
Fed Up I hope that you are wrong about the fate of GBN . It may not be as right as we would like but it is certainly much further to the right than the rest of the leftist MSM in the UK and as good as Ofcom will allow us to have in the UK. I hope it prospers.

Sadly I don’t think OFCOM could ever entertain the level of Right wing I find acceptable …

As for Simpson – he has flown around the world celebrating other people’s tragedies on a guaranteed wage and expense account – in the same way as Attenborough Dimbleby Humphries naughtie and the girls have .

          Fed Up,
I agree that GBN is soft on the two key issues that confront the country today, Immigration and Islamification, the two evil I’s, but as you say , Ofcom would not allow a more right wing stance on these critical issues. But on other issues GBN is well to the right of the rest of the media in the UK which is steadily moving leftwards eg the Telegraph and Mail. So I am settling for half a loaf with GBN as it is rather than no loaf if they took the line that I would like the two big I’s.

The search results up until probably May seemed to rank roughly timewise – then Google really went to town on him.

I felt that DDG was affected by that via their reliance on up to 400 other sources to compile its search results, including other search engines like Bing, Yahoo, and Yandex, and crowdsourcing sites like Wikipedia. Subjectively DDG showed less links to recent Carlson content and more hysterical whinnying “foes”.

I saw some comments that DDG has been sold … – Apple were sniffing around … A move into the “Big Tech Tent” would torpedo their USP…

I’ve noticed a serious ramp up in politicised suggestions about content via Android devices coupled to targeted content that one wonders how they hit on subjects without listening to conversations….

    Not the BBC:

“A new poll released on Monday found the majority of Americans believe that “others” are really running the show in President Joe Biden’s administration and not Biden himself.

56.5% of American voters do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office, while 36.4% believe he is directing all policy and agenda.”

When you zero in on Republican voters, the numbers shoot up to 83.6% who do not believe that President Biden is fully executing the duties of his office.

In other words the whole world is waking up to what we here have known all along, namely that Biden is completely useless and is being run by others.

The whole world, but not the BBC who continue to wilfully ignore his obvious cognitive decline.

Boris has fallen into a classic left-wing trap over removal of covid restrictions.

The BBC along with the Gurdian and the Independent know they have him over a barrel and hence are rolling out classic opposition tactics.

They are all full of story after story on medics etc. warning against removal of restriction.

All this means that he is damned either way, If he proceeds they will throw the full fury of the health service professionals at him, many of whom have political motives as well, and use every tame medic, dubious statistic and sob story they can dig up.

If he capitulates he will raise the ire of a huge proportion of society who back his intention and who have had it up to the back-teeth with the medical and quango rule-makers.

It will be interesting to see what he is made of over this, I suspect a large watering down of freedoms is the most likely as he will try to ride both horses.

The BBC’s faux concern about the consequences of lifting restriction are simply a way of hiding their hatred of Boris and the Conservatives.

    The Telegraph – 9th July 2021

BBC complaints double in two years as political bias incenses viewers

Emily Maitlis’s Newsnight monologue is subject of most complaints, with corporation executives admitting they have a problem…

The number of complaints about BBC programmes has more than doubled over the past two years to a record high of nearly half a million, figures have revealed.

Complaints to the broadcaster reached 462,255 in 2020/21, up from 218,253 in 2018/19, with anger about perceived bias driving up the numbers.

In the intervening year, 2019/20, the figure was 368,377, which the BBC said at the time was unusually high due to complaints about the 2019 general election and the first time it had topped 300,000 since records began.

The new figures were contained in the BBC’s annual report, published this week.

The broadcaster acknowledged that it had a problem. Ian Hargreaves, chairman of the BBC’s editorial guidelines and standards committee, said: “The volume of complaints to the BBC remains a concern. This financial year has seen another sharp increase in the number of complaints received.
    https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/07/09/bbc-complaints-double-two-years-political-bias-incenses-viewers/

BBC – a saga that is a left over from the 1970’s….
    – to be continued (indefinitely); until the BBC is ex communicated, bankrupt financially (is already bankrupt morally), exposed as incompetent (over forty + years), child abuse, substance abuse, gender disorders, incompetence, false accounting, pension defecit (ongoing), political bias, psychotic behaviour, hysterical presenters, programming errors, uncommercial practices, abandoning staff over 50, paying women less than men, 3 day week (weak) management, (private) expenses scandle, (Private) personal contracts (offshore), corruption of youth targetting, news ‘views’ totally at odds with the nation (who object to pay for it), hatred of (UK) national identity, traitor to the nation (beholden to EU values).… All of the above is on record as being ‘true’ over the past twenty years reported in newspapers as damning.

Its not looking good for the BBC – OFCOM has protected the BBC and allowed the BBC to ignore public complaints that are not recorded as ’complaints’ by stating that only complaints ‘not addressed’ get awarded complaints status. So BBC ignore complaints that are (unsupported) and are often excluded under FOI requests (that may be also complaints) but not listed as such by the BBC or OFCOM as they are unreported as ‘sorted’ when they are not. They are outstanding BBC ‘denials’ of any bias or over reach. In each case the BBC stated that its bias is ‘protected’ under parliamentary Charter. You can see this in FOI (BBC) responses which are identical, that deny the obvious that they are in any way responsible for news and views of its staff or programming content. Its unique in this respect as relying on public support and deny the same public an interest in how its run by an elite liberal oxbridge educated class that really does hate ‘the public’ at large. We have the ‘wrong’ views, it seems in the brave new world they wish for..

‘The BBC has a death wish’

Philip Davies, a longstanding member of the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee, said: “This proposed appointment shows the BBC has learnt absolutely nothing about why it has lost touch with huge swathes of the country.

“If they really think that what they are short of is a left-wing, politically correct Remainer then they have truly lost the plot.

“It seems the BBC has a death wish and this will just hasten the end of the licence fee”

But the exact same is true over here in the UK. Democracy has been highjacked by the liberal elite. They or their agents control virtually all institutions which run the modern state and they can now subvert the election process and cancel anyone who holds views which they don’t want heard by the public and force feed the masses with their own propaganda.
Without democracy ordinary folks are powerless, the only weapon we had was our vote and this has now been rendered useless. Of course many folks simply don’t yet understand this and perhaps they never will and don’t care. But if they ever do understand it and care about it they will realise that they won’t be able to change things through the ballot box and so be forced to find other means to bring change about.
